      Yesss!! 🌼 Same!! L’Oreal Bond Repair Line! And I use the pre-shampoo AFTER shampooing because of Abbey! I mix it up with Olaplex, but it takes longer for me using No. 3 cuz I always wash before using & after! I use Elizavecca too… knew of it before her, but her stamp of approval got me really using it! Lol! Use Redken’s bond repair sometimes too because of her… so many things, even skincare, like DRMTLGY Needle Less Serum, their SPF. Face washes. I can go on. Lol!
      I hope she'll review the new Garnier Fructis Hair Filler bond repair line. I’m curious about it! The Not Your Mother's Tough Love bond repair too! I’ve seen it in maybe a short, bur wanna know more! SheaMoisture’s too! Have you tried any?? And I agree Abby is awesome with recommendations for all budgets!

    *In Conclusion:*
    _Tip 1:_ 3:29 *Wring out* excess water after rinsing off shampoo. Get rid of any water before applying any conditioning products.
    _Tip 2:_ 3:53 *Divide* your hair into sections before applying your conditioner or hair mask. For fine/medium hair, divide into two sections; for thicker hair, divide into four sections. This ensures the conditioner thoroughly covers all strands of hair.
    _Tip 3:_ 5:24 *Emulsify* the conditioner or hair mask in your hands before applying.
    _Tip 4:_ 5:29 *Spread* the conditioner or hair mask from the top to the bottom of your hair. As you are applying the product, work your way down the hair and when you no longer feel any product in your hands, apply some more to your hands and keep going. This usually happens half way down the hair.
    _Tip 5:_ 6:26 Do one *final check* if your hair to see if any hair was skipped over and wasn’t coated properly. If you find any areas that are not smooth and silky, apply some product to that area.
    _Tip 6:_ 7:01 Let the product *sit in your hair.* If you are using a hair mask, let that sit in your hair for 10 minutes. (Do all the other shower things whilst waiting) Gently clip your hair up with a claw clip if you have long hair. If you are using a conditioner, you only need to wait 3-4 minutes.
    Hope this helps! Have a lovely day. ❤❤

      What she’s talking about is called ‘squish to condish’ in the curly world. I’ve wondered about Abbey’s thoughts on this since she likes to wring out extra water before conditioning as well as says hair is the most fragile when it’s wet and curly/wavy girls are adding more water.

    • @katyazimuth
      @katyazimuth 3 місяці тому +14

      Squish to condish is definitely what works for my wavy hair, otherwise it doesn't feel like the conditioner are penetrating or even coating. I discovered it accidentally when I noticed it just worked better with some water vs not, I didn't even know it was an actual technique until years later lol

      @@sarahalderman3126 Yes, really! I have curly hair, one of my daughters has wavy hair and the other one straight hair. All of us squish to condish. You can even use the bowl methode to bring the ultimate hydration to your hair. The job of your conditioner is to lock moisture in your hair and it can only do it´s job, if there is enough moisture - so never wring out the water if you have dry or split prone hair.

      You might try using 2 conditioners that's what i do. My hair is super fine but i have a very very dry scalp so even my roots need some conditioning, so i use something super light on my roots and something heavier and creamier on my mids and ends. Basically just gather my hair into a low ponytail and anything that makes it there gets the heavier conditioner, all the shorter layers get something lighter

    Thanks for recommending the L'Oreal EverPure bond repair line, I bought it and it is amazing. So, I have been dealing with hair loss because of high stress levels. I know you don´t talk much about hair loss, but I have been working towards stop this condition by changing my lifestyle: working out, eating well, quit sugar, meditation, get a puppy (haha) and all of that. Also, I am taking my collagen, keratin, and vitamins, and massaging my scalp and body, using minoxidil, dermapen, a mixture of rosmery oil, pumpkin seed oil and vitamin E, maintaining a clean scalp with a purifying shampoo. The good news is that the amount of hair I loss every day has decreased a lot, the better news is that new hairs are growing but I see they are super dry so much so it looks like I have been electrocuted and because they are growing on my forehead line it is so hard to style them and look good, so what I am doing during my shower routine is combing the hair close to my forehead line towards the front of my face and try to apply the smallest amount of bond repair conditioner to those hairs trying no to touch the scalp, and it has helped a lot; however I know some product must go to my scalp It is worth it because the new hairs look much healthier, silky and soft, and I have to wash my oily scalp frequently anyways.

    I learned a trick from the hair mask I use. KENRA suggests using a shower cap with aluminum to trap heat and allow the product to work better. This opens the cuticle which allows the product to have better absorption, and it is especially beneficial for low porosity hair. I also do this with my regular conditioner and I have seen a big difference with my hair being a little les oily, and being better conditioned (moisturized).

    • @elin_
      @elin_ 3 місяці тому +4

      It doesn't absorb into the strand. Conditioners and hair masks lay on the outside of the hair as a shield.

      Yup! Only I am not entirely convinced that the shower cap itself, not the aluminum, is what makes the difference. I have used all kinds of shower caps, including aluminum lined one's, silk ones, plastic... etc and all seem to work about the same. Currently using a silk lined plastic wrap cap now which is pretty great. Either way I do think you are correct about the heat retention being a big plus ❤

    • @robertperez3422
      @robertperez3422 3 місяці тому +3

      @@sarahalderman3126 Aluminum shower caps trap heat due to the insulating properties of aluminum. This metal is a poor conductor of heat, which means it slows down the transfer of heat from your head to the surrounding environment. This trapped heat can be beneficial for certain hair treatments, such as deep conditioning, as it can help the hair absorb the conditioner more effectively. Compared to traditional shower caps made from materials like plastic or fabric, aluminum shower caps are more effective at trapping heat. This is because plastic and fabric are typically better conductors of heat than aluminum.

    Please make a My Favorite Beauty Hacks video. We all have little things we’ve tweaked or used in different ways to get more out of our routines. I bet you have lots!
    Also, thank you for your transparency and specificity when discussing products and routines. I know firsthand from inside the industry how dishonest most of the professionals are when it comes to marketing. Yes, most of them are just saying whatever they need to say to shift product and chase the fantasy of going viral. I left in disgust after decades and for a long time the whole trauma of seeing this open lack of humanity in action took the fun out of beauty for me.
    Having worked with many influencers, you have amazed me with how you deliver for followers and stand up for us when brands want you to read from an untruthful script. I wish there were more creators out there like you.
    The pudding: I did a deep drive on your channel a couple of weeks ago. I immediately started accumulating some of your favorites: OGX Coconut Oil Serum for pre-wash, Pantene Volume & Body Shampoo, Dove Intensive Repair Duo, Elizavecca Mask, Color Wow x Chris Appleton Money Mask, Amika Detangler, EverPure 21-in-1, Elvive Glycolic Gloss (I bought the whole routine and am waiting for it too arrive from the UK), L’Oréal Dream Lengths shampoo and conditioner, and many more that are escaping me now. I also started implementing my own version of your routine and my hair is so much easier to manage and looks and feels so much softer and more beautiful. I was preparing to get a major chop of about 14 inches just to start over, but you’ve made me love my hair again!
    Finally, please repeat more often this tip that I only heard you give yesterday when I was down another rabbit hole of your videos: Don’t style your hair the same all the time. I’ve been in a major high pony phase for the past few years, which probably hasn’t helped with my fine hair and noticeable scalp visibility. That seems like such a hugely important tip that I hope you speak more about it in future videos. The devil is in the details and I’m afraid to miss out on any of your tips!

      @@AbbeyYung I tried not to be dramatic about how bad things are in the beauty industry, and hasten to add that there ARE many great products, of course. Those make it to market despite all the internal politics at giant corporations and many indie brands alike. Not all “indies” are scrappy, founder-driven brands guided by any ideals. Any brand that doesn’t include lots of information about the founders - be it American, Korean or any origin - should be viewed with an especially critical eye. We need more founders like Josh Rosebrook, Trinny and May Lindstrom. (I don’t know about current indie haircare founders yet since you’re my sole source of knowledge at this point in my haircare adventure.)
      Thank you again and please consider doing a compilation of your favorite beauty hacks! Maybe you can solicit your audience’s own novel practices and share some of the good, bad, and hilarious.

    EVA NYC (Amazon) has some great deep conditioners. I use the one in pink that looks similar to the Amika one she showed (on consistency). It smells fantastic. It moisturizers your hair quite well. I have dry hair that was bleached and it became part of the process I’m using to get it healthier looking. I only to cut two inches instead of 6 when I used it in conjunction with the Loteal Bond Repair system. I had to work with and apply every other day (with the same Oils she recommends). I’ve since found the new Garnier System is a bit better for my hair. I use the bonding step, the moisturizing hair and shampoo, the moisturizer and bond serums mixed together and the bond gel as well now. So the whole system. On days I don’t use the bond repair I use the mask. Sometimes, when very dry and not looking great…I use them all. I do have less volume (fine, thin hair). EVA NYC may be a dupe for something (or somethings). I’ve heard different product from Olaplex, K-18, and Amika. Either way, it’s a great product. So is the Pantene leave in spray.

    Tight curly (type 4 if you use that system). Since I need conditioner to detangle, I use a less expensive conditioner right after shampoo to detangle (loving the La’dor acid conditioner for a K-beauty option) then rinse apply my mask and use a heat cap for 30 minutes out of the shower. If I’m using K18, I’ll apply right after shampoo, wait the 4 minutes then apply my detangling conditioner.

    Thank you so so much for mentioning the double step hair mask and conditioner issue 🙌🏻 lately some influencers said you have to use hair mask and conditioner after but since I own conditioners that act exactly like hair masks, it was too much for my hair and it became heavy overtime rather than softer! I feel like this only applies if the conditioner is really light and not so moisturizing so you can use it after a hair mask but I don't see the point to purchase a conditioner like that, it needs to be light but it has to hydrate your hair! But people are giving false information like "hair mask opens the cuticles and conditioner closes them" wtf?! Hair mask is designed to deeply condition your hair so logically it has an acid PH meant to close the cuticles, if anything hair mask works better than many conditioners when it comes to sealing the scales of the hair, companies claim those bs theories so you'll buy both the hair mask and conditioner, but people are spreading this false information on social media a lot lately, so thank you for addressing it ❤

    A tip for the person who asked about using regular conditioner as a leave-in: a few times I didn’t have leave-in on hand because I was hiking or I forgot to bring it etc, in those situations I used conditioner as normal rinsing it off and then I applied the tiniest bit of the same conditioner out of the shower to act as a leave-in. I hope it makes sense

    When I apply a hair mask I will shampoo my hair use Olaplex 3 for an hour rinse shampoo again then I’ll wrap my hair up in a microfiber towel then I’ll sit in a mirror and apply my hair mask in sections starting from the back and working all the way to the front. Then I will leave that on between 30-45 min. Then rinse and use strength cure conditioner etc. and I get good results this way I also do a k18 day once a month too I have naturally fine coarse wavy hair and it can handle thick masks like Amika the Kure etc. I recently color stripped my hair and I’m trying to nurse my hair back to health! I also love to use a leave in conditioner and a leave in cream wether that would be living proof triple bond complex etc. x

    It’s an oil-in-cream-gel form, you only need a small amount, and it’s both a leave-in and styling product. It’d be great to see you try & review yet.

    Love you, Abbey!💗
    Am I the only one who literally gets OUT of the shower after shampooing to apply their hair mask in front of the mirror to ensure that every strand is coated? 😂
    I literally:
    -Shampoo x2
    -Get out of the shower
    -(k18 would go here on K18 days)
    Or
    -(non k18 day) apply hair mask THOROUGHLY
    -put hair in a shower cap
    -Go back in the shower for “other shower things” while the mask processes
    -Remove shower cap and rinse out mask
    -Use a follow up conditioner
    😅
    Maybe this is why my hair wash day can take up to 3 hours 😂 but I deal with serious hair loss due to chronic illness/medical conditions,… so I am SUPER careful with the hair I have left!!!! 🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️🙏🏻

    I have the impression that brands have stopped writing on their bottles how long to leave a conditioner on. At least drug store... Maybe I'm wrong. But now I usually only ready "spread evenly and rinse thoroughly". Would that mean that the conditioner doesn't need to be left on for longer than a few seconds at all? Really wondering... Would safe quite a bit of time :D

They have a healing oil people love, a restorative mask, recovery shampoo/conditioner for damage, styling products and various other shampoos and conditioners for volume, clarifying, etc....my hair salon uses and raves about their products and people seem to love it in the reviews too, but would love your thoughts because you could compare it to all these other products you recommend the most. OK, what I need is a serious go to recommendation for affordable and effective detangling conditioner or styling product when my hair is tangled, that DOESNT weigh my hair down! I love Loreal’s Bond Repair conditioner and the frizz defying one but when your hair is long, you only get a few uses of it for the size.Bonus points if the fragrance isn’t so strong, it triggers migraines every time I use it. God, I cannot believe how intense and strong some of the hair products fragrances are. It’s just insane how overused fragrances are in hair products . It drives me nuts, purely nuts, nuts nuts, nuts!! OK unless it’s a coconut fragrance, then I’m OK with it😂. Yeah, and I’ve tried all three of the OGX coconut hair serums, and they all leave my hair greasy. Trader Joe’s hair serum is my gold standard. I can’t get enough of that product. I use it constantly have for years and years, but would like a hair conditioner that works like L’Oreal frizz defy, but in a bigger size.
