    How to Apply Your Mask (regardless of the brand)
    Begin by gently detangling your hair, prior to wetting it with water so that your hair is smooth without tangles. Wet your hair and shampoo your scalp, cleansing away build up and product. If you are using your mask for more than 30 minutes, or have recently applied a large amount of hairspray or styling product all over your hair - shampoo both your scalp and lengths. This method will require a larger amount of the hair mask, and deliver more nutrition to the hair. Rinse your hair clean of the shampoo, and squeeze out excess water. Ensure the hair is not dripping wet, and swelled with a lot of water. Section your hair in half, and apply a large amount of the mask to the first section, swiping it from the ear length down to the ends (6-7 inches from the root) (do not apply the mask to your scalp or roots). Once the mask is smoothed over the hair shaft, apply it to your second section. Massage the mask into your hair (using a hand motion as if you were trying to identify "the feeling" of something between your finger tips). Leave this mask on for 10 minutes (minimum) (maximum 30 minutes). Rinse thoroughly using warm water and proceed with styling products. Always use heat protection or my favourite watery spray sealant go.magik.ly/ml... to protect your results.
    My Favourite Hair Masks I've Used:
    shu uemura - Silk Bloom Treatment Hair Mask for Damaged Hair go.magik.ly/ml...
    amika - Soulfood Nourishing Hair Mask go.magik.ly/ml...
    OUAI - Treatment Mask for Thick Hair go.magik.ly/ml...
    moroccanoil - Intense Hydrating Mask go.magik.ly/ml...
    pureology - Strength Cure Superfoods Treatment Mask go.magik.ly/ml...
    oribe - Gold Lust Transformative Hair Mask go.magik.ly/ml...
    kérastase
    Nutritive Ultra-Hydrating Mask for Very Dry Hair go.magik.ly/ml...
    How to apply Bond Repair and Hair Gloss:
    Do not follow generic instructions. Always refer to the label of the product. Unlike hair masks, bond repair products have individual processes to get desired results. Tip: do not use "more" than suggested, this will cause problems like crispy, crunchy hair instead of smooth and silky repaired hair (think, K18!).

    Please do an “essence” series!
    Your “angel essence” video is the video that made me subscribe to your channel and is to this day still my favorite video out of all the videos you’ve ever made.
    One of the comments on that video says “I am so sad that she didn’t continue this series… it could’ve been her best series.”
    That comment has 1.4k likes!
    Your viewers want that series to continue and grow!
    PLEASE DO AN ESSENCE SERIES
    If you’re a viewer and also want the series to continue, comment the kind of essence you’d like to see a video on
    Example “dark femme essence”
    And if you haven’t seen her video “angel essence” go watch it! It’s a must see!

      Third! The essence video was so next level, and none of the people who complained at the time were ready. It was so amazing and NEEDED, how to carry beauty from the realm of clothes, products, etc. and into the realm of gesture, posture, vibe and archetype/personal branding. Alex, if you see this thread, please consider giving it another shot!

    Alexandra not only are your videos super resourceful and detailed but the detail you put into recording the products or clothes you mention, demonstrating their result and even just placing the masks on a clear surface to show the difference, there’s a lot of artistry and talent in your work! Super impressed

    The hair mask from olaplex was a game-changer for me. Nothing else gives me even close to the results. I've stopped using the bond treatment and some other products so that I can keep repurchasing the hair mask, and it's honestly all I need!

      @@ankeetos Hey! My hair is bleached, 2B and medium porosity. I like to wear it straight so I'll usually treat it with a drier after using the mask. With no product, my hair looks frizzy and brittle. The mask smoothes it really well and makes it look like natural, soft hair, without the "bleached" look. Important: I use the mask like a leave-in conditioner, instead of rinsing it out like in the video. The Olaplex 3 + the mask work amazingly in combination, but unfortunately I can't really afford to keep using the combo lol

    Marshall’s or TJ carry several jars of hair mask at bargain prices-I apply scalp oils, saturate strands with mask, sleep with plastic bonnet. Wow!
    One game changer, standup fan for drying hair (cool air) + handheld dryer on low heat.

    olaplex no 3 technically should be used on freshly shampood hair that way the product can actually penetrate the hair strand and work its magic, as opposed to applying it on dirty oily unwashed hair that has environmental pollution, oil, + product build-up. in this instance, the olaplex no 3 wouldn't be able penetrate the hair shaft as effectively as it can on fresh clean hair 👍

    • @AlexandrasGirlyTalk
      @AlexandrasGirlyTalk  7 місяців тому +1

      This was my suspicion but the label says to dampen the hair and then shampoo after! It doesn’t seem logical. I’ve used it both ways myself, and I’m curious why they don’t follow that logic you suggest^

    • @btshwaiting
      @btshwaiting 6 місяців тому

      oh yeah. I live in australia so i took a look at the australian olaplex website and if you go to the no 3 product page, scroll down theres a little q&a section where they stated generally you dont have to wash your hair before no 3 but you should if you have used a lot of product. Anyway, i dont want to come across as a know it all or anything. I just wanted to share a helpful tip that could maximise your/other's use of no 3. Because i have heat damaged hair and since olaplex is so expensive i would definitely wanna get my money's worth out of it and i'd feel like im just wasting the product if im applying it on top of build up in the hair and its not actually working you know. @@AlexandrasGirlyTalk

      I totally agree Olaplex is pricy. K18 bond repair works perhaps even better but it’s terribly expensive too. In the long run if you really need deep repair vs hair nutrition it’s worth it. Cheaper hair masks are a great value to prolong and protect the results of both of those products ^🩷✨

      Had the same problem. Thicker hair at roots thinner towards the ends. Couldn't get past specific length.
      My hairdresser said it's due to hair breaking. Tried using hair products targeted towards that.
      Also, regularly applying some type of leave in conditioner on damp hair when I wash it and heat protectant if I'm styling it after it dries. (I don't use hair dryer since I have have wavy/curly hair. It's a mess)
