This is a video test of Full Frame Sony 50mm f1.8 FE lens on an APS-C type camera Sony A6000. I used DJI Ronin SC to stabilze the footage. EPIDEMIC SOUND - bit.ly/3nnsCp6 - 30 DAYS FREE!

How did you get auto focus with this lens ? I only have manual focus, that’s why I don’t use it for videos. Tips ?
Are you sure it's the same lens? Because this is fully AF lens and it has no problems with AF. You just set it in your camera (Focus Mode)

I can't seem to get my Sony FE 50mm lens to autofocus during video on a6000--how did you get yours to do that?

Full Frame but its small enough to fit APSC as well
Did you export video in 4k?
Yes! I upscale it to 200% and export as 4K due to UA-cams compression
I returned it after a couple days and bought the aps-c version.
with 100€ more you get OSS and wayyyy better autofocus.
I 100% agree with you buddy! I always recommend the OSS version when possible. For me - this lens came with the A7II kit for free so gotta use what you got! And besides, some people are so tight on the schedule - they will cut corners wherever possible but yeah - OSS version is 100€ worth 👌

First is for crop sensor cameras but the second can be used on both (crop and full frame).
First has OSS, second doesn't have.
First is more expensive, second is cheaper.
I have an a6000 as well and I am using FE 1.8 50 mm. I can’t seem to change to auto focus on video. It is staying on manual focus would you know why it is doing that

I do have a few questions! I’m having trouble figuring out how to see myself while filming for beauty videos (the screen doesn’t flip to the side on the a6000). I got a mirror attachment but it’s super bulky & hard to use with ring lights. Is there a way to tether it to a laptop monitor & use a remote/software to start & stop recording? What would be a basic setup for beauty shots? (showing color/skin texture accurately). Thanks so much! 😊

@@QuadCore96 if you are a beginner, there is absolutely no need to upgrade to Full Frame camera. Better spend that money on getting high quality lenses. They are much more important than the camera.

It does a little bit. Its a cheap lens
I am very surprised, that all the shots made using gimbal, but they are still a bit jittery. On the other hand love to use older, still usable and absolutelly wonderful cameras.
You are completely right, most of the clips required Warp Stabilizer effect to mitigate the shake - thats why you can see a bit of that jitter. And the problem is neither with camera, nor lens or the gimbal - the problem is the focal length. Its 85mm equivalent and I was walking/moving around too much. At that focal length the smallest shake is visible. Should have been more thoughtful :)
@@TomsJurjaks On the bright side, I appreciate this happy accident. I was under the wrong impression the gimbal would mitigate this kind of movement almost completely... Knowing the stabilization the gimbal offers has its limit helped me understand I should keep my expectations in check!

Sony a6000 is rather basic camera for videography so unfortunately you cant even shoot in Picture Profiles, therefore there are no LUTs for A6000.
@@TomsJurjaks its not true, by adjusting creative style to neutral, you can get amazing results applying luts
Creative Styles are not Picture Profiles @@hiphopdelhi4908 Picture Profile for video is Slog2, HLG, Cine4 etc and a6000 does not have that. Adjusting creative style and applying a LUT is like shooting in JPEG and editing the picture in Lightroom. Sure you can do it, but picture/video is already processed and all you do is re-process it and significantly reduce the quality. Not even talking about introducing the noise in shadows as Dynamic Range is not great when shooting without Picture Profiles and then trying to apply LUT. Again, you CAN do it, but the price will be quality reduction.

Sony A6000 is not able to shoot 4K. Only 1080p in 24,25,30, 50 and 60fps

If you are not gonna use it on full frame cameras then you can easily go with OSS version.
Sony a6000 shot 1080p. Why is it 4k?
Yeah it's bit weird but it's because of UA-cam Compression. I made a whole video about it: ua-cam.com/video/Nh1euJjlxO0/v-deo.html check especially the section called "Export Settings" - I explain there why this video is 4K.

Not an expert in framerates @@edysssays but I've always shot in 24fps. Mostly because if I shoot at 60 or 120fps it allows me to slow down the footage more than 2 or 4x. Its more like 5x if shot 120fps
