*For any keen observers, this is a re-post, a shorter, edited version of the track I posted previously. Thank you to those people who took the time to listen and to comment on my original post - Much appreciated as always.*

Another great & individual cover choice. It is the eclectic track selection & the perfect execution that makes this Channel a joy to listen to.

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and to comment. Robert Marlow was sadly underrated in my opinion 😕

He was best friends with Vince Clarke and Vince collaborated with him on the album ‘The Peter Pan Effect’, released between Vince leaving Depeche Mode and forming Yazoo. Unfortunately, Marlow never gained commercial success but the album is definitely worth a listen and do check out the single ‘The Face Of Dorian Gray’

'The Face Of Dorian Grey' is one of my favourite early electro singles. It has a really pleasing swagger to it - and if you hear it once, it will definitely become an 'earworm'.
I do like 'No Heart', too. My favourite record shop - sadly long gone, now, was Rex Records, in Ipswich - they would order anything, for anyone, no matter how obscure - and once they knew your musical taste, they'd find things you might like. Annoyingly, they were never wrong. Anyhow, every now and then, they'd have clearance sales where they would sell records for silly low money. I got 'No Heart' for 20p, if I remember. I also got some Alan Vega (Suicide) singles, and Roky Erickson's 'Bloody Hammer' single for 20p each. Might be worth a bit more than that now, but as I never buy records to resell, it's a moot point.
Whatever, Robert Marlow is one of the many 'Nearly Men', who made quality tunes, nicely produced, and as catchy as you like: but hardly anyone listened to them. That always saddens me a bit, whenever I hear some massively popular tune, which is, in all truth, just a bit of anodyne rubbish, coughed out in a teabreak. And yet, there are far cooler tracks out there, that most people haven't the imagination to seek out, but would rather hear the same stuff as their peers so that they don't stand out.
I have never done that. That's why I enjoy your channel so much. 👌👌👌

Just like me. First time I come across this name. However, this tune is amazing. Thanks for the great cover version.
