I think I missed something but how do I connect the computer to the board for the simulated inputs? Like physically what kinda cables and or hardware do I need and where do they get plugged into the Midas M32? I am going to start mixing for charity soon and want to practice but I don't know how to set this up to practice. I am looking at timecode 1:39 and looked before and after it but don't see that...
A request,, can u make 1 video demonstrating setup of mixing console for live show?? I mean stage monitor mic balancing, eq tuning and main P.A equing and balancing... And how to setup your board for a live show ..and how to set gain structure... hope h hv got kmy poin
Great Video Daniel! Thank you. @21:30 EQ section: Can you pleas clarify something for me; should I apply the same EQ settings to both Bus send and FX return or one of them is good?
Short answer just eq the fx return Longer answer it depends on how you want the effect to behave because the eq on the sends bus comes before the effect so you can use it to shape the sound that goes into the effect and the eq on the effect return is to shape the sound that comes outbof the effect But which one is more important? It's definitely the eq on the effect return
Hi, a newbie here. Recently handling M32 in my church. When it comes to volume at the instruments and setting gain, is there any basic rule? We use yamaha dtx multi 12 and yamaha 900 series keyboard. My question is what volume level we should maintain at the instruments before setting up the gain? Pls advice.
What about the people on the sides, will they not miss some instruments if you pan them all the way to the other side? or at least a different balance than you'll have in the center?
@klienk8237 it depends on how far apart your speakers are. If the left and right are too far apart and there's no overlap between them you'll need to add a center fill that will be a mono sum of the left and right. If there is enough overlap then don't worry about it too much. Maybe don't pan all the way left or right. But panning is still a lot better than keeping everything in the center
Hi daniel, can u give us tips for the range frequency for each instrument? Like for bass it s on a range 60-80 maybe, and each part of drum , and other instrument, thanks!!
your tutorial are life savior, Question: how can I download the .scn files on Mac (for downloading the scene to practice), what app can I uses?, Thank you
Nothing just use your browser. Click on the Google drive link i provided and it will open in your browser and then you can just click on the 3 dots on the top right corner or the arrow down and download them. To load the scene you have to use the m32 edit app. You can can that from the midas website
You can assign 2 channels to a dca and control the level from that one dca fader but you cannot have 2 physical inputs on the same channel. All channels are mono, they can only take 1 input
Sir ill do what you reply to my question all my channel inputs are okay except channel 8 only light appear, still no lavel and logo sir , what can i do for our other remedy or solutions, thanks again sir and god bless
M32-Edit: Go to your AUX/FX layer. Notice that with Main LR selected Fx 1L, Fx 1R ... Fx 4L, Fx 4R are at unity by default. Now select your monitor / IEM bus. You will notice that Fx 1L ... Fx 4R are all the way down. Raise them to get the amount of FX you desire in the monitor(s) / IEM(s). Go easy on effects in the monitors, especially in reverberant rooms. Great way to get absolutely wicked, ear splitting feedback. Also a great way to knock your vocalist off the beat, especially if you use the same amount of echo / delay as you are sending to the mains.
Daniel, Question .. when you mix a multitrack on the 32, what kind of equipment are you using for the Half/final recording physical or computer ? 2, 8 or 16 tracks and how you do it ? Thanks, Paulo
@paulo espadinha i wouldn't do that myself but in case you want to do that you can assign the 16 outputs to direct out from the channels with a postfader tap and then you can go the the card outputs page and assign them to out 1-16 And you can do the same with the same with the p16 outputs for the other 16 channels
@paulo espadinha in the routing menu you have the ULTRANET page and that is for the p16 personal mixers from behringer. On that page you also have 16 outputs other than your normal 16 outputs in the OUT page. You can assign them to direct out from channels with a postfader tap and then assign card outputs 16-32 to p16 1-16 And now you have your normal 16 outputs and the 16 ULTRANET outputs for a total of 32 that way you can record all the channels with the processing on them
Yes it's the default usb expansion card that comes with the console I have videos on my channel about how to do this on the major DAWs Just search on my channel "multitrack recording and virtual sound check" I have never used garage band but if you have a way to assign inputs and outputs for each track then yes you can do it

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us!

Do you not use input delay to compensate for the kick in/out for example? phase flip will be better for 1 frequency but worse for another. no?
Yes if you have time definitely measure the distance between the mics and delay the inside mic

most pro engineers mix in mono, panning hard left/right is for studios not live , i totally disagree with this guy

Great video. but why do your google files have a .scn extension. how do i open them plEASE
Because these are the scenes
You load them on your console, you don't open them on your computer

Hello I downloaded the scn files but when I put the flash drive in my console m32 it doesnt see the files can you explain to me why?
Does it see anything else on the drive? If not the drive might need formatting if yes use the m32 edit app on your computer to load the scenes
Daniel,

2, 8 or 16 tracks and how you do it ?

I'm just recording the monitor LR on a usb stick with the usb recorder on the front of the console
Thanks daniel,
Are they any situation you need to record channels with processing from à multitrack ?
On what or can be recorded ?
Thanks,
@paulo espadinha i wouldn't do that myself but in case you want to do that you can assign the 16 outputs to direct out from the channels with a postfader tap and then you can go the the card outputs page and assign them to out 1-16
And you can do the same with the same with the p16 outputs for the other 16 channels
Excuse me Daniel, i don't understand the last line ?
What do you mean ?

On that page you also have 16 outputs other than your normal 16 outputs in the OUT page. I downloaded the scenes but they are not working how do i use them i have a x32 compact
It doesn't matter which consoleyou have. The scenes work on all x32/m32 series of consoles. What is not working?
I downloaded the dropbox content and when it unzipped, everything isnt available
There's no Dropbox it's on my Google drive and there's nothing zipped it's an open folder you can see everything in the browser
