    5:25 was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks! Tonight at a gig I asked the much more experienced sound engineer who was running sound for the band how I can EQ the left and right Mains separately with pink noise. He told me I needed to route the left and right output to 2 stereo matrices. On the first I only use the left side and on the second I only use the right side that way I have a parametric EQ that I can use to tune the system instead of using the much more simple EQ on the main mix fader that affects both left and right. I asked him how to do this because I noticed today when he was tuning the system that the left and right main speakers sound very different from each other. I don't have access to the dbx driverack so I'm going to have to adjust the EQ on the board itself. Thank you for showing how to route it properly

    Just wanted to add that if you use matrices for crossovers, you don't have to use the simple hi pass/low pass functions. You can choose from various Butterworth and LR filters on bands 2 thru 5. Just choose the desired type instead of "PEQ."

    How do I route a matrix to the usb output on the back of the board?

    • @danielkharrat
      @danielkharrat  11 місяців тому +1

      Routing-> card outputs
      Assign card 1-8 for example to out 1-8 or to ultranet 1-8 and then on the out page or on the ultranet page you can assign output 1 to matrix 1
      (Doesn't have to be 1-8, any number)
      This is how you send a matrix out of the usb card

I’m guessing the di box I’m using is sending poor signal to the matrix..what do I have to do to turn up the bass guitar volume only in the live??? Great video Daniel, very informative. Do you know if mute works on a matrix as well as channels do with buses? I mean, if I have a bus connected to a speaker on stage for the singer, who is send also in a matrix connected to a speaker for my reference, if I mute a bus in my matrix send will it still be active on stage ?

    • @danielkharrat
      @danielkharrat  Рік тому +1

      It depends on the tap points
      On the out page by default the tap point for the busses will be post fader
      It means that the signal going out of the bus is affected by the fader position and the mute
      You also have a prefader tap and prefader + mute
      If you select the prefader without the mute then regardless of the bus fader position or the mute, the speaker will still get signal from the bus
      Then you have the inputs taps for the matrix where you can decide if the fader of the bus itself affects the send level to the matrix or not
      Then you have the mute button in the sends tab of the bus. That mute is like unassign it removes the bust from the matrix without needing to turn down the send level
      So if you mute it inside the sends tab it will only be muted for that matrix but if you press the mute button on the bus it may or may not be muted depending on the tap points

Just use One Matrix Mix the send the Main L/R and the M/C to the that matrix, Set the crossovers on the main and mono then sent that Matrix to a pair of stereo ouputs..... But the question still remains, can u send multiple matrixes to one stereo output? With crossovers ofcourse?

    I have mixbuses set up for our in ear monitors, 7 mix buses total. However, I’m not able to send those buses to the fx bus (obviously, because you can’t send a bus to a bus). Could I use this matrix to send the mixbus which I have the in ears assigned to, to the fx bus? I’d like to do this so I could add reverb to the vocals in the in ear mix, as the vocalists are only hearing their dry signal. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    • @danielkharrat
      @danielkharrat  2 місяці тому

      the reverb sound is on the fx return channel not the fx bus. just send your vocals to the reverb like you would normally do (or to another reverb if they want something different in their ears) and then send the return channel of that rever to their in ear bus. on the Aux FX layer you will find channels called Fx1L Fx1R, Fx2L Fx2R....this is what you want to send to the monitors

    Daniel, can you talk about sending matrix to aes a or b. My question is really about differentiating in the routing the physical output. Also, if you need more outputs than 16, can you route some to your board and some to your snake? Like if your using matrices and iems it's easy to go over 16 outputs. Thank you, Mike

    • @danielkharrat
      @danielkharrat  Рік тому

      Yes. By default what goes out of your console and stage box is the outputs 1-16 that you can find in the OUT page, there you can decide if you want to send out a channel, a bus, a matrix... if you used all 16 outputs of the OUT page, you still have the ULTRANET page with 16 more outputs than you can assign to whatever you want.
      What goes out of the physical xlr outputs on the back of your console is decided in the XLR page. By default, it's assigned to the 16 outputs of the out page
      You can assign outputs 1-8 to p16 1-8 and now the first 8 outputs from the ultranet page are going out of the first 8 xlr outputs on the back of the console
      Same goes for stage boxes
      On the AES50 A or B page you can assign outputs to OUT or P16 or user outputs an then configure it in the user section

      I believe you are limited to just 16 physical outputs on this M32 and the X32 regardless of having a stagebox or not. You can sacrifice your effects channels to take advantage of all 16... You want more outputs you have to spend money on bigger boards. To sometime maximize my outputs for Iem's and things Ill use my aux outs for my MainL/R an M/C outs. The least inexpensive way to have more ouputs on these 2 boards is to buy P16 personal monitoring systems. Those units utlize the ultranet port and represents as seperate outputs literally adding outputs to your board by daisy chaining them via cat5e cables. Mini mixing boards. That's the only work around or more money on a bigger board. Alot of people are unaware of this.

    • @djsikchyld
      @djsikchyld Рік тому

      Sorry my bad. Your limited to 16 Mixbuses but u can still use the ultranet for 16 other routing options. But they won't be Mixbuses.

    I have a pair of Evox j8's which only takes one input per side for the tops and the 15in woofer, so it has a built in crossover (2way). But what if I wanted to control the sub frequencies seperately the same way I would do using seperate tops for mains and the M/C output for external sub woofers with its own signal? Is it possible to send multiple matrix mixes to the same output? For instance, Matrix 1&2 for the low pass to output 1&2 then Matrix 3&4 for the Mids and highs to outputs 1&2. That should work if the crossover points are at the right frequencies correct? So again my question is, when using a speaker with a crossover already built in, whether it be two way or three way and takes one signal, can u send multiple (crossed over) matrixes to the same stereo outputs for seperate control if u wanted to? I have various tops and subs and always mix using Main L/R and M/C for the subs so I'm curious? I never use my Jmix 8's for mains so I never had a reason to try this.

    • @danielkharrat
      @danielkharrat  Рік тому

      You can send multiple busses to the same matrix but each matrix can only have 1 physical output
      If you were to assign multiple matrices to the same xlr output then what's the point of using a matrix in the first place
      The point of using a matrix is to control different speakers
      But if the speaker has a woofer and a midrange drive and a tweet all in the same cabinet and only takes 1analog input you cannot control the different drivers separately

    BEWARE NOTE: Behringer has a major problem with its products documentation manuals in them using proprietary PDF X software, just has a nice long email session with them and this is my findings response: I believe the problem is you are using a proprietary PDF X software and it is a password protected doc. Most all pdf docs will open in acrobat pro and have full edit, but yours does not and has a password protection on if. I do not use any other PDF creation software, do to them not having the functions that Adobe Acrobat has and does such as copy, scan and insert functions that all others do not have. SO whoever created this manual in PDF X software, password protected this and all your other PDF docs created by it. SO yes your downloads for manuals are password protected by its creators. In conclusion this is a major problem, so no one can copy text or pics to create quick reference user notes to learn on using behringer products.
