  • I just love stenciling with acrylic ink! and just had so much fun putting this together. The yummy textured background with just a touch of grunge make me smile. Hope you enjoy the project!

    We luv u for who you are. You are an emotional warrior. We can’t control how ppl treat us, but we can at least deal with how we react. Here, you can grow, learn, share and love. We cherish. You have created a beautiful place to make art. It is like a getaway for me to get to know myself. I can’t thank you more. Luv.

    This is so yummy Shawn! Don’t you think, as women, we are more often told we are “too much” of many things? Mine has been: too emotional, too fat, too thin, too loud, too silly....on and on! I’m definitely going to get that book. I love everything you do and you are an inspiration! Keep being too much YOU!

    Just did this one today. Loved so much the initial part of the process especially with gesso, crackle and texture. The board just set a gorgeous foundation for anything. Learning to connect what we create with symbolism is so rich and so transformational. Thank you!

    I love the bit about the too muchness. I have always been told that I am too much this or that and I love my muchness finally at 53. Life was so unhappy until I embraced it and realized other opinions do not matter. Thank you for saying those things!

    I read your email that came in my PC this morning, and your share about BE TOO MUCH resonates with me in a big way. I'm facing my 70th birthday...I feel more like 35! People seem to expect so little of those who are 'elderly'.
    Granted there are those who deal with health issues, I have some, but not critical. AND I do WORK hard at staying active, eating a plant based program, to alleviate alot of future issues. IT DOES WORK!
    But some folks seem to think as you Age, you should EASE BACK. Nope, not me. I'm moving Forward & Being Too Much! Over the past few years, I managed to lose weight, walk a mile a day, and Still work for a Living! And manage a house, my job, is alot of work.
    AND just recently got hired to sing with a Band!!! They have no idea how old I am - LOL - because I still look THAT good.
    And the reason I share this ?? Because Our Health is important, so I encourage everyone - get off the junk food / Sugar / Flour - and Start Being TOO MUCH of a GREAT Person!!!
    I know alot of Artists suffer from weight issues - I see it in Videos. WE are slowly killing ourselves with Sugar & Processed Foods. We really need to stop hiding behind our Art, and GET Out THERE!!!

      Smiling yes I gained 3lbs may not sound like alot to others but I am only 5'1" and size 0/2 so 3lbs shows in my tum area 🥺

      I have found that some of the people in my life want me to be "old" Not me thank you! Have you had that experience?

    • @bjulianaleo3025
      @bjulianaleo3025 3 роки тому

      @@pamdodge2573 Yes! Especially IF they think I can't do something, that in THEIR Mind is too much for someone older. For instance... I was working on a small tree (15 foot) on my front yard, and trimming back the branches. A guy two doors down, came over to see if he could help. I said, thanks, but I got this. NOW....if it had been a bigger tree, maybe I would allow the help. But I did it. I think IF anything got too much for me, I'd probably hire someone. hahaha

      @@pamdodge2573 Oh yes BIG TIME sadly I am 64.5yrs old and Laurèl my daughter and I wear the same size when she needs to update her clothes I get her hand me ups ☺️ which on a fixed income keeps me updated on the cheap and she has beautiful tastes in clothes so it's a win win and I don't look me age I often pegged in the early 50's I stopped colouring my hair when I turned 55 so Yes I am not going to let people tell me how I should look or that I need to "act my age" 😜

    • @bjulianaleo3025

      @@lindahigham5317 55 is NOT old! You are just getting started. I found out when i was 50, that for years I was eating wrong. I used to weigh 230lbs. IT was horrible. Not that I was always heavy. But I started seeing that I wasn't as active, and realized I can't eat the same way I was at 30. Part of the fault, was with marriage - I wasn't as active, as a single person. Soooo, after my divorce...HAHAHAH I lost the weight! And had a FREEDOM that I hadn't seen before - The FREEDOM to take care of my Self, and my Goals. I just went back to singing with a Band! Just recently too.
      So. honestly....55 is not old. And I finally have crossed a threshold toward more weight loss. My goal is 140...I just got to 155 this week. I was almost 170, in January 2021. I refuse to give up, and I'm sticking with my program this time. No matter what.
      I hate to say this - but WE truly have to stay determined in our lives. Because there are just so many temptations that can destroy WHO we are. hugs, Juliana

    Did u say we leave it overnight for gesso and crackle paste to dry overnight?

    • @ShawnPetite
      @ShawnPetite  2 роки тому +1

      The crackle needs to dry on it's own to get good cracks. I let it dry over night because that's where I was in my day. I could just take a couple of hours depending on your climate. The gesso doesn't need to dry overnight on it own. but because I had both I didn't want to heat the crackle or it wouldn't crack. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for watching!
