So pretty, love that you take a picture that inspires you and go with it and make a beautiful spread with it! Tfs.😊 hope you have a wonderful day
Looks like a nice place to relax. I think it's beautiful and soothing,
I really love this! I was wondering how to incorporate magazine pics into my journal since they do inspire me. 😊Thanks for showing us!
This was really lovely 😊
Really liked it with your finishing touches. Also the music on this one was great!
‘A bit of a hot mess, but in a good way’ Love it 😍
Amazing piece. Very inspiring
Beautifully done.
Thank you for sharing your gift
Gorgeous 😍 great work 👍
I really like how ethereal it is. 😁💜👍🏻
Shawn its got so much energy and is exquisite!
Thank you!
It brought me to where peace was .😘
I like the change you made.
I love it..! Thank you for the tips!
Delicate and beautiful
Absolutely gorgeous page! I love your art & your philosophy about art journaling. Everything you said is exactly how I feel about art journaling. People will ask me why I do things just to cover them...but I don't know what I'm going to cover & what little details will show. I always walk away from a page or project and come back in a while with fresh eyes. If I'm still happy I know I'm done...but I usually find something that I want to change a little. I have to try mixing gesso with modeling paste! Wonderful video! 💖
Thank you!
Amazing!! ❤
Fun page great texture and layers!!
Thank you so much!
Love it!!!
Very much a "sweet spot".❤️
Adoravel. Você é Formidavel...
omg i love it
Thank you!
Wow.... 🥰
Shaun you said not to fall in love too much with your back ground. That is exactly where I am and I’m stuck. Any further advice? It seems that I can’t move past it. I haven’t worked on anything else either because I want to finish that piece but it’s so pretty I’m afraid to ruin it.
Maybe its supposed to stay like it is. What i would do is do another in the same process and you will have both!
I love this! All that texture! What sort of cheesecloth do you use, never used it before so not sure what to search for?
Thanks my friend! I just got it at the grocery, in the spice section.
Thank you! I will have a look out for it! xx

Hello 😀😀, it’s always confusing to me why I see mixed media artists put down all these different layers of things and by the time your artwork is done most of the bottom layers can’t even be seen. I have done a ton of different types of art in my life, sewing, crochet, Watercolor, acrylics, etc. but I really really want to do mixed media. I’m having a hard time getting started. It just seems crazy to put down layers of items that are never going to be seen. If you can answer that question for me that would be awesome, or if there’s anyone out there that can answer that question for me that would be so great. Thank you in advance 💕👍🏻!!!!!! Also do you Gesso your page in advance or prepare it in anyway before you start your project? I’ve seen other artists do that and I’ve purchased gesso (woo hoo) but I’m not sure if it’s always 100% necessary. Thank you again for whoever takes the time to read this and answer my questions 😊
There are so many reasons why. Have you ever looked at a piece of art and ask how did they do that? Layers! It tells your story. It gives you a place to start. Each layer informs the next. I rarely start with the finished piece in mind. You cant plan it out or it looks too rigid and tight. Texture! texture! texture. and tiny little bits show through that are just fabulous.... I could go on and on. but watch this video and it should answer your questions. ua-cam.com/video/9sIgc8XfKSQ/v-deo.html - This is my number one question and that's why I did the video I'm giving you the link to. Thanks for being here!
@@ShawnPetite thank you so much for explaining this. Most of my other types of artwork don’t have deep layers like that. So this was a great explanation and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to send me back a note. I’ve been watching your videos like crazy over the past week or so since I found your channel. I love your work and I can hardly wait to get started on a project of my own. Thank you again for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to me about your process. Have a super day 😀💕
