I really needed your talk about showing up! I didn’t feel inspired to work in my new studio, but just the simple message about showing up gave me back the inspiration I need to create! So thank you very much!! Hugs from The Netherlands
I absolutely love that wallpaper stencil you put down first, and then you started adding those vertical columns of deep colour and I was like, where is she going with that! The reverse stencilling made it better but I still could not see your vision, as you do so well, you took me through the hot mess stage and gradually transformed it into a gorgeous piece! I just love the end result and I sure can resonate with your talk at the end, the sentiment is perfect! You are an inspiration for so many!💕💕🙏🏼🇨🇦
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ❤️🧡💛
Thank you, Shawn. You encourage me to be more brave and take some chances with my art.
Gorgeous. So many times you make a beautiful background, or image, then you cover it, but not all the way.
And I (scream in my head) “you ruined it!!”. Then you keep going and make it even better! You have courage!
Love these journal pages, but would love it even more on my wall!
The reverse stencilled areas look like lovely old books to me, then a wreath of flowers and berries (the white circles). Lovely, Shawn.
Love this!!!
You keep me inspired. I love your flowers they really come alive. I recently purchased some of your stencils and can't wait to order from the new releases I just adore them. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Shawn for sharing. What a fantastic piece!..... from a tired person! You're very talented and I so appreciate and learn from your processes. Love the bright orange next to the purple - vibrant and uplifting. Wish you a good, peaceful week.
What a lovely mixed media painting ! TFS
Thank you, Shawn, God Bless. It is gorgeous, and your colors.
I love this mixed media piece ❤ thank you for all your inspiration! ❤️
Great message too!!!
OHH!! biege with teal! never would have thought of that. I trying to do more paint mixing these days so thanks for the tip. I'm still trying to get comfortable with the floral stencils. Love your technique. I going to start a series of different ways to use floral stencils and my first one is how to paper piece one! Have a beautiful, peaceful weekend Shawn. Hugs!
❤❤❤
Gorgeous. Do you have a method "to the madness" so to speak when marking your flowers. They end up looking so pretty and flowerlike.
❤️ Beautifully done, I love it! Also what size and kind of paint brush were you using when you painted the columns?
The brush size that I measured is 1 1/4" It was a cheapo brush from Hobby lobby the name of it is "the fine touch" I think it might be Hobby Lobby brand. #24 on the handle. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
I love this tutorial. I purchased you flower stencil recently. I wanted to ask, since you are using soft pastel and stabilo, when and with what do you seal? Before you stabilo AND after?
I use Krylon fixative or Spectra fix, Krylon sets better but Spectra fix is better for you and the environment. When I just have light pastels or charcoal I use spectrafix when I have a lot I use Krylon. Hope this helps!
None of my devices will allow me to visit your store. Says it is pornography. Have submitted a change request but has not worked. Wlould love to be able to purchase from you. Love your work and your design team. Thanks, Nancy
Perfect sentiment for me this week. Beautiful project. I honestly think people must accidentally hit thumbs down, because there isn't anything at all in this tutorial that could get that response intentionally...people are just sometimes in a rush I guess. Thanks Shawn. xxx
