I'm watching videos about Serbia because I'll be visiting in 2 weeks, so excited! I'm a Colombian married to a Serbian, but I have never been to Serbia, we have been married for 9 years. Our dream is to go back to his roots, buy a farm, have children, and be surrounded by good people. Any suggestions on a place to start looking for our dreamed farm? We just want a quiet place, surrounded by nice people.
It depends on what do you like more? If you're into plain terrain go north, if you like hills and mountains go south of Belgrade. You also should choose if you like to be closer to Belgrade and other larger towns or to be more isolated. Would you like to have cattle or to grow plants and which kind of, so you should consider climate conditions. Lots of stuff matter actually. I suggest you to visit more places, rent a house for some time to know thing better before you finally choose where is the best place for you to live.
Try to find some etno village in Vojvodina,pss dont forget to drink RAKIJA(sljivovica)

Hi, lovely video as always. Liked the fact that you tried to make it in the UK yourself you will need filo pastry and some feta cheese and cottage cheese to.
The filo pastry in Tesco/ Sainsbury's is not as good as the ones you can find in some polish shops or easter Europe shops.
But try to make it with mixing the feta and the cottage cheese together you will get the flavour and you need to use enough oil ofcourse. Try to make 2 sheets from the filo pastry at the time sprinkle oil on and make it as a roll put oil on the baking tray to and bake it for about 20-25 minutes on 250 electric oven. Let us know if it has worked🤩😉
You have to take the napkins by yourself in the bakery. A stack of them is usually placed on the counter for everyone to help themselves.

I like your pronounciations of serbian names :) We have 30 letters and every letter is one sound only and allways consistant (pronounced the same way) So A is always pronounced like doctor asks you when checking your throat (AAAA) or first sound in the word (A)lfa , J is pronounced like you pronounce Y (Y)es , C is pronounced like tzs (all at once) , G is pronounced like (G)ray , I is pronounced like E (E)ven , and E is pronounced like (E)cho and so on... Letters with accents on them are pronounced : Č like CH (CH)arley , DŽ, like J (J)oke and Đ (DJ) and Ć like (DJ)okovi(Ć) - tenis player. Someone could have explained it to you in 15 min. It is like that in all of the west Balkans (ex YU) with just a few exeptions. So park near ST. Marc church is Tashmaydan (remember : AAA and for Kalemegdan - try to work it out for yourselfs. NIS is actually NIŠ (NISH). Hope it helps ...

Than, after few life music clubs, and all night dancing, you can have your burek with a sunrise.
Then, you go to bed and rest, for next clubbing experience.
Take a week that way, than go to Montenegro or Albania coast to slow down and get some vitamin D on a beach.
Yes, Belgrade has a big beach on Sava lake, near to city center, but , it's infested with bars and restaurants , so... I usually get wasted there and miss any swimming and sun bathing 😔

Yes! The burek that is made in the deep pan is so good! Funny you said that Nis has the best in Serbia. We would agree. We had a couple slides near the concentration camp museum in Nis and it was lovely!

You need to eat burek and cevap in Bosnia, this is originally food from Bosnia, but all ex yu countries said, this is their food. Burek is only from Bosnia, this is pie with meat.

@@bosnianborn, pre nego sto si odvalio glupost mogao si da proveris, okrugli burek je nastao u Nisu, mesto rodjenja okruglog bureka je Nis, inace sem imena koje je turskog porekla (borek) ovaj burek nema veze sa Turcima, posebno jer se originalni burek pravio sa svinjskom mascu.
Ja imam turskih pekara gde zivim nekoliko, nemaju nista slicno a kada im pokazem nas burek samo slegnu ramenima.

I feel like there is a misconception among tourists that burek is a typical Serbian breakfast, the truth is that an average Serb eats burek 1-2 times per month :P Anyway, I wish you a good time here and keep on making such interesting content, don't eat burek so often because it's unhealthy! :D
