I'm sure it's awesome, but that "burek" you ate is NOT an actual/real burek. That was a PIE (pita) filled with meat (pita s mesom). The difference is in dough and in the way they make that dough (the burek dough doesn't "grow"). While the real burek takes time to make, this is ordinary pie and it's easy and way faster meal usually used by fast food places. If you ever travel in south Serbia (Niš, Leskovac, Vranje...) you should look for a burek there. It's a round piece of pie that is cut on four quarters, not rolled in rows like that☝️ It's double greasier. It's greasy that much that penetrates through the paper that it's served on, directly on your hands👌😁 Btw, speaking about grease, if you continue to eat like in your video, you won't reach your 50th bd😂 Bon appetite, mate🍻
Sarma is not just serbian dish well all those dishes are a Balcan traditional... except a Karađorđeva šnicla what is a meal who invented a serbian chef in 1960s... others are heritage from a turkey cuisine.... a palačinke are origin of France...., Fiš paprikaš is origin of Hungary... so LOL.... any way Serbians made a good food.
Nice video but, man, put a little bit of an effort in pronouncing the dishes right, ok? No offence. Ask the waiter how it sound if you find it difficult.
Omg, you are doing it all wrong. You eat that pepper with garlic ( my favorite) as salad, and if it is too strong for you, you can combine it with yogurt or sour milk. You DO NOT mix it with sarma. I have never ate sarma with yogurt, and never heard that there is a cheese in sarma, you misunderstood that. The best bakery, in my opinion, is pekara Trpkovic- there is one at Slavija square.
The most stupid thing tourists usually do is going around athe capital searching for traditional food. Best serbian food and true Serbians are in the villages
Sarma with cheese and tomato sauce? 🤣🤣🤣 You're not eating REAL Sarma my friend.. I'm sorry. Adding Milk to the Sarma? Don't do it anymore.. just don't. It's like putting Pineapple on a Pizza. Whoever recommended these combinations to you should be jailed for giving out false information about our Balkan food. That's it.
Problem with balkan/serbian food is that it taste good/ok in restaurants and only in some places they are really great. Most of us stick to home cooking using learned recipes and taste much better then in restaurants. Only few restaurants know how to make it as it should really taste. Most of those places just make it to be ok since they make it in large quantity instead to taste really good. For sarma it takes minimum 4 hours to be cooked and so far I never found any restaurant that have it really good. Also based on that cooked bacon it looks just average. You need to find someone who knows how to make sarma and only then You will really enjoy it. Only then You will understand hype about it. For that pljeskavica its looks its low quality based on buns used and how its prepared. Real Pljeskavica need somun instead of that bun which looks like bread. Most of those burger places just make it fast and to taste it ok for hungry passerby. Koliba is ok place. They make Sarajevski burek version and its one of the best places to get burek in Serbia. Its something like cevapi in pastry version. Best burek I ate was made in Banja Luka before war (underground passage of Boska supermarket). Cevapi looks ok. Somun is maybe not that good based on look but it looks better then most of the places. I prefer Banjalucki cevapi and so far only few places in Banja Luka made them as it should be. The best place I ate cevapi don't exist anymore. Probably closed when war started in Banja Luka next to old bus station. Also Cevapi should be eaten with only somun, meat and onion. Anything else is just overboard and hides cevapi real taste. PS. For cevapi that are made as it should you can't decide what taste better somun or meat. Pihtije to be honest I never found in any restaurant that is any good. Usually they make it with modern gelatin instead to cook it traditionally using cartilage which taste much better. Other foods You tasted are rare to find in restaurants made as it should be. Its ok but not great as many "home cooks" make :D You want to taste great food in Serbia then marry some Serbian girl that knows how to cook :D.
This are Balkan foods not srbian foods, this is eaten in Macedonia and Bulgaria and almost everywhere in the Balkans, but if you ask the serbs they think they invented every food in the world where there is no evidence for anything
Palačinke, burek, sarma, pihtije, ćevapi, paprikaš... Literally non of it is Serbian dish. Don't know what can originally be called "Serbian" in that sense? Belmuž? Pite? Jagnje pod sačem? Podvarak? Punjene paprike...

Its ok but not great as many "home cooks" make :D
You want to taste great food in Serbia then marry some Serbian girl that knows how to cook :D.
And did you are missing McDonald's 🤪🤣
😂
I zrak je srpski , zar ne???
Treba i crevca da proba
beter for you to not try hungarian food... it is to hot for you :D
It’s not just Serbian food , it’s Bosnian too my friend
You haven't tried the lamb under the bell
if you want good food you have to go outside of big cities like Belgrade
This sarma doesn't look appetizing, mate.

Literally non of it is Serbian, not one dish.
Cevapi is called sarajevski cevapi thats Bosnian food , sarma too.
That’s Turkish food 😂

Fish paprikas isfrom Croatia again liers
I love the Serbian food!!!
Thank you for the compliments, you still have a lot to try around Serbia. By the way, there is much better burek in Novi Sad than the one you tried :).
Next time try beans with dry ribs, pork knee in kajmak, fried peppers stuffed with kajmak and cheese, veal stew, wedding cabbadge... The list is long.
Enjoy!!!
Brimze you need to try brizLe, also lamb, cvarci, kulen, ajvar, pindjur, gibanica, mekike, podvarak, prebranac, etc
Mekike obavezno
Princes krofne i krempite obavezno
listening to you mispronouncing names of food I came up with an idea to open a restaurant with menu printed like you say: pljeskavicka, burnes, kađordi steak etc etc ... and you will be invited to opening :D
😂😂😂
Hahahahha jebeno
Ubernet😂
Ako još nisi probao zapečeni pasulj obavezno ga probaj🤤
Good choice.
I would add...kajmak, čvarci, šunka, škembići.
I'm from Serbia and I loved your video, great choices, of course as others said before me, there is a lot more to try, a lot of great food. Thanks for visiting our country. Cheers.
O.K. But, as I couldsee, burek was not made in traditional Belgrade way, and tchevaptchichi look like as they are Sarajevo style.
4:38 Look my foreign brothers and sisters how burgers should look 4:38
Instead of those ridiculous tall but narrow things you call burgers !
Also, the quality of Serbian burgers is awesome 👍🇷🇸
