    Great videos, guys! 😁 Don't miss out on Western Serbia and mountains Zlatibor and Tara, Medvednik, Povlen and Maljen. Base yourselves in the city of Valjevo, visit the Gradac canyon with all the churches, monasteries and wonderful nature. City has an old Turkish street, one of the biggest Orthodox churches in Serbia, lots of historical monuments and great people. Enjoy 🇷🇸❤️

    The thing you took a bite on at 5:30 is called "piroska" (pronounced pee-rosh-ka). It's sourdough stuffed with cheese (usually the same kind of farmers' cheese that goes into burek) and deep-fried in oil. Not on the most healthy side, but really good stuff. I am originally from Serbia, but I live in the US. Whenever I travel to the old country, my must-do is to get a taste of Serbian bakery that I miss so much.

    Nish is like a Detroit of Serbia. There's not much to see in the city actually but if you go to some popular tourist destinations in the rural areas you might find a lot of interesting stuff.
    And btw they are building a fast railway network system from Belgrade to Nish and in the future such exhausting bus rides will only be a choice of the traveler :)

    Awesome trip, it brings so much memories from times I was at high school. I did lot of bus travels as basically it was only option for school trips and such back then.
    If you were exhausted after this ride, imagine a ride from Subotica to Herceg Novi in Montenegro it can take up to 20 hours, with only 3-4 stops. When you reach mountains in MNE you just want to jump into those clutches and end it right there... :D Hehehe did that ride by bus twice, after that preferred train ride which takes a about same time, but you at least had more space, could move freely and ofc open window, smoke and enjoy endless beautiful scenery! ;) Ahh, good old times...

    Currently, high-speed railways Belgrade - Budapest (Hungary) is being built, and the part on the route Belgrade - Novi Sad will start operating at the end of the year (the ride will take 27 minutes from Belgrade to Novi Sad). Construction of the high-speed railway from Belgrade to Nis should start at the end of this or the beginning of next year (it is part of the project of the high-speed railway Serbia - Greece). Bus arrivals have been disrupted due to major road works and construction across the country and the construction of a new bus station.

    • @RitschardPaul
      @RitschardPaul 3 роки тому

      We will see about that really once it is finished. That part should be better in any way, but at the same time you will need to take about a hour and half train ride from Sombor to Vrbas (50km apart) to catch that "fast" one. We needed to sign petition so they don't close that part from railway network for good, so I doubt there are plans for it's restoration, which is just sad.

    • @amarillorose7810
      @amarillorose7810 3 роки тому

      @@RitschardPaul I do not believe that they will shut down that line, I believe that this high-speed railway will pull to modernize the rest of the railway throughout Serbia and build it where it is needed. We'll see.

    • @RitschardPaul
      @RitschardPaul 3 роки тому

      @@amarillorose7810 I hope. I'm just saying because I'm living there, so I can see what is happening actually. Just single railway line is getting modernized in 2 stages, and it is not even high-speed, as max speed is only 200km/s which is ridiculous in 21cent, but for Serbia it is enough I guess.. Other lines connecting hubs are in such a terrible state that has to be rebuilt, not just repaired. Cheers!

    • @amarillorose7810
      @amarillorose7810 3 роки тому

      @@RitschardPaul 200km/s is high speed railway, it is certainly much faster than everything we have had so far and the countries around us as well as many countries in the EU do not have that either. Only France, Britain, Italy, Germany and Spain and few more European countries have high-speed trains (from 200km/s and above).

    • @ironfoxzone2252
      @ironfoxzone2252 3 роки тому

      @@amarillorose7810 200 km/h is not a high-speed railway but a faster normal railway. 250+ can be called a high-speed rail and that is for passengers only, here we have a mixed freight-passenger railway. Serbia doesn't need high-speed rail, it is even disputed if it needs a 200km/h one since building it costs much much more than say 160km/h and has different signaling and regulations which require regular maintenance. Whatsmore the train ticket will be more expensive than the one for 160 km/h and the question is whether everyone can afford that. Even the Swiss don't have a highs speed rail (only for 200 km/h) since the trains there do not go as fast as possible but as it is needed to fit into the schedule. But, only time will tell if it works, I am glad that some investment is going into the railways. Train line Sombor-Vrbas is planned to be reconstructed, but who knows when.
