China is loosing the U.S. as a trade partner to Mexico, although it should be gaining other parts of the world through it's belt and road initiative. That'll take time though for other countries gain wealth so that China can export more.
Don't be fooled by Western Bias media... China is Gaining trade with other partners far more than it is losing Trade from the US. In fact, China's Trade grew by 7% last year... Also, Its trade with the US reached record highs. But the west is portraying that as "losing".

Diplomacy is something very few countries can beat India at. Even Switzerland is having a hard time competing. I don’t see how China’s diplomatic methods can match India’s Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World Is One Family).
Somehow i do believe in the change of strategy as this year and last few years a lot of lessons learnt scenario is there.. But we may not know when again change will happen to 180 deg.. As its communist govt.
