@@ta9izzdz585 no so much western arrogance, as it is the lingua franca, if they chose to not talk to each other in english althou they all could speak it perfectly, its a political statement. If someone is surprised they did not use the lingua franca and instead used translators, its not arrogance but just recognizing this statement.

China has already proposed a 12-point principle peace plan for Russia-Ukraine, also doing a number of peace making proposals in many conflicting areas in the world.
again, no. No English in the meeting because it's not efficient to translate everything in English first. They all have translators who know Farsi, Arabic and Mandarin. And this deal is just a start, China shows what real diplomacy should be, and more countries will walk away from the West's childish approach.

Tell me why would I use English when I can speak the language of the person that I am communicating with? There are 1.4 billion Chinese and we can't find a qualified person as interpreter speaking Farsi and Arabic? Not everything is about the anglo saxons, their countries, their languages. Yes English is a lingua franca but in many cases we don't have to use it. Especially in diplomatic occasions, the representatives of a country tend to use the official languages of their countries.
