  • In this video, I discuss the careers of the five fastest players of NFL Combine History, based on their 40 yard dash time. The five players are Dri Archer, Jerome Mathis, Chris Johnson, Rondel Menendez, and John Ross. They played for the Steelers, Texans, Titans, Falcons, and Bengals. I also briefly mention their college football careers and the NFL Draft. This is my first time doing commentary, so I will work on improving for my future videos.

    You should've thrown Randy Moss in an honorable mention category. The dude only knew one play and that was to blow by everyone and get in the endzone. Which he did quite often and easily. Nobody could keep up with him. I remember one game he scored 3 tds. 1st td guarded by 1 guy, 2nd td covered by 2 guys, 3rd td covered by everyone and still blows by em.

    • @primetimeproductions8922
      @primetimeproductions8922  3 роки тому

      True, but while he definitely had elite speed, I’d say that the players i featured in this video are still faster than him by a decent margin. It was the combination of Moss’s elite speed with his other top tier attributes such as his size that made him unstoppable.

    • @sydboski
      @sydboski 3 роки тому

      Moss did not have a semi automatic 40 time. His 4.25 was hand timed.

    • @Brandon-xq2ns
      @Brandon-xq2ns 3 роки тому +1

      @@primetimeproductions8922 idk dude. I feel like you put Moss up against Tyreek Hill or John Ross. That margin won't be very decent and almost non existent. Remember, your basing this off of 40 yd dash times. But who you think would run the length of the field in pads faster? 1 of Mosses strides equals probably 2 of Tyreeks. This is all speculation though and we will never know but in my opinion i feel like there wouldn't be any margin and the winner of that race would be just barely ahead of the other guy. Like I said Watch old Moss highlights and find a clip where someone actually kept up with Moss. Even Dion Primitime Sanders got smoked by Moss and at one point was self proclaimed fastest man in the league. And you know Mosses 40 times was a 4.25 which is actually faster or just as fast as everyone on this list lol so I think you just forgot about him.

    • @Brandon-xq2ns
      @Brandon-xq2ns 3 роки тому

      @@primetimeproductions8922 Here's another problem. Google Randy Mosses 40 time. Its 4.25. Your 4th fastest player on here is 4.26 so by default Moss should've been atleast number 4 on this list and ultimately meaning he is faster than some players you had on this list. Chris Johnson. Tyreek Hill Randy Moss Dion imo are the fastest players ever and im not just looking at 50 time but pure speed and the ability for a defender to catch them in a footage which is impossible. Yeah John Ross and Dri had sesame 40s but they're small so when ypu put pads on. Those 4.24 they were running wont be 4.24 anymore. But you put pads on moss and he ain't even gonna notice them and still hit the burners on anyone.

I will take Primetime, Bo, and Tyreek hill over everyone... Moss gets honorable Mention 4.25 at his pro day and 4.12/4.20 on various hand timers by scouts and coaches... Yeah but sometime players can't make that transition. If he had been playing running back his whole life he might not have been able to switch to another position at the NFL level even if his skillset was better for another position. Obviously there's been success stories of players switching position by the time they reach the NFL, but more of then not it doesn't work out. Some players been playing the same position for 10-15 years and then have to try to learn a new position against the best players in the world

      Tavon Austin was a beast but I feel he was never used correctly in the NFL. He is kind of like a Joker the way he was used in the return, running and receiving game.. But his talent level was far exceeding his actual production on the field.

      Agreed, his speed wasn’t properly utilized

    The story goes that Deion Sanders didn't warm up or stretch. He showed up a the combine in a limousine, told the driver he would be right back, went is and did one 40 yard sprint, and kept going right back to the limousine without stopping. If that's really how it went down he might have easily clocked a better time had he prepared. Players usually don't run faster than they have to, but when he needed to pull away it was undeniable; Deion was in a league of his own.

      Unfortunately Sanders' 40 was hand timed.

    Just FYI for future reference... it's not MEN-un-dez... it's Meh-NEN-dez. The injury and off-field events of his life were absolutely tragic and unfortunate. Odds are, he would have been the Falcons' primary returner and probably a 5th rotation WR used mostly in short-time, long yardage drive situations. That alone could have given him a nice career for several years (as long as he kept his speed), despite not being a good WR by any means.
    While he may have played well against a handful of weak division 2 defenses in 1996-1997 at Eastern Kentucky, he was not impressive at all against the likes of Troy, Western Kentucky, Appalachian State, Southeast Missouri, or the Div 2 playoff game against Western Kentucky in 1997 (half the games on the schedule). He was outright terrible against Kentucky, Appalachian State, and Murray State... the only worthwhile defenses he played his senior year. He basically had 750 receiving yards and 8 TDs against 3 teams in 1998 (Eastern Illinois, Western Kentucky, and UT-Martin), while barely showing up for the other 8 games (less than 300 yards receiving and only 3 TDs). This and the fact that he was an extremely small WR even back then (5'9, 180) are why he wasn't taken until the 7th round.
    Also, Menendez NEVER held the record for most receiving yards in a game for Eastern Kentucky. His big game against Eastern Illinois was the second most in school history. The actual record is 316 by Aaron Marsh against Northwood in 1967... 31 years earlier.
