Looks great just keep in mind the bottom of the poll that has the moss and is buried will stay super wet for those roots. If I may offer an idea next time fill the bottom however many inches it will be in size pot with your same avoid mix that's in pot starting your moss above soil/mix surface. Keeps chances of root rot from future breakdown of moss that is buried at bay ! I love your passion for flora! Keep your the great work!
THIS IS AMAZING!!! Maybe next time you can try to cut the mesh with gardening gloves on, your scratched up hands broke my heart 😭💔 thank you for sacrificing yourself and giving us such a great reference!
This was very informative. I am new to planting and think this is something that will definitely help my plants. I also love the look for trailing plants. Thank you for all the information!
This was very informative! I was wondering if the moss degrades over time? Do you have to replace the moss regularly? I have seen sphagnum moss with orchids building up algae from all the moisture so I wanted to know your thoughts/experiences before I build a pole myself. Thank you!
I’ve been holding off on learning how to make one so that I could watch this video, I remember you making that big one on Instagram a while ago. It looks so good! I’m gonna make one soon for my raphie. I recently bought a really big monstera deliciosa though that leans really heavily to one side. Do you think this would be heavy duty enough to help prop that up straighter? Or should I add a metal garden pole in the center maybe. Amazing video, girl💜💜
thank you angel 🥺 since monsteras are so heavy i would definitely recommend putting extra support in there. even for the 5ft pole, I ended up putting a bamboo pole in there just in case. I think a metal garden pole is perfect!! you could even have it poke out the bottom a little bit if you don't want to put any spagh in the pot (hopefully that makes sense).
ughhhh THANK YOU for de mystifying my moss pole. I made this bugger but I knew it needed watering, and it was also keeping my plant soil too wet for my liking so i was totes confused about whentf i should water or if i should just keep misting at the nodes (i've been misting at the nodes, it's EXHAUSTING lol anyway, yes, please update on mosspole proven growth in the future! thanks! luv ya
@@GoodandPlanty I have the same problem, the soil is very wet because of the totem I don't know what to do, I'm afraid to pour it, but I'm also afraid to over-dry the moss, I spray and water it every day!!!! It is dry already in the morning it is too hot in my country (but the soil does not dry out at all, some are watered through the totem, but it's scary that the roots will rot. The plant was watered 1.5 weeks ago, the soil is still wet. help me!!
Love you, meek, the plants and videos. I just received all of my supplies to do my poles. I was freaking out when I received that moss in the mail 😯 until I read up on it to soak it 😂 Thank you for your inspiration and content💜 🪴
Super helpful! what do you do once the plant has reached the end of the pole? I have a silver sword on a pole and the roots are super tangled in the pole but it needs extending. Do you extend it? put it on a bigger one? or try to get the plant to grow back down it ?
you can do all of those, but personally i prefer to propagate! i either trade the cuttings or put them in the base of the pot to make a fuller plant/pole.
If you have a giant paper cutter, the type with a big blade, I’d bet that would work on the plastic meshes. Maybe even the ones with the metal if the blade is thick enough. Just coming off the top of my head.
How do you keep your 5 foot pole standing straight all on its own? I have a moss pole that's about three foot tall, same @Craigmilran style, with a metal stake in the back and a bamboo pole in front- which are attached to the garden mesh. What am I doing wrong? I have the same garden mesh as you... Oh btw you have such a pretty smile and great attitude!! 💚 First time watching you, going to subscribe! We're close to one another as well- Philly and New Jersey!
Do you think up I can use fiber glass window screen? I have left over when I made window screen for my house 🏡 or it maybe too small of space for airial roots to grow?
Can you tell me the person you mentioned st the first part of your video. I think you called him Craig or something like that. His site would be appreciated. And thank you for taking my fest out of making one of these. You made it so simple to follow. Happy planting.
Hi! Love your videos so much! Recently found you and spent a day literally watching ALL of your videos 🤣💚 I just bought a huge monstera and I want it to grow upwards but I don’t think it’s time to repot. Do you think it’d be okay if I made this moss pole and just stuck it in the back?
thank you so much!! welcome to the channel 💚 💚 I think that's totally doable, assuming the roots haven't claimed all of the pot space haha. If you need a thick pole but are worried about pot space, you can also put a thinner pvc pipe in the middle of the pole and have it stick out of the bottom so you have a thinner piece to shove into the pot. Hopefully that makes sense?? 🤦🏻♀️
I got a bag of sphagnum moss from home depot that isnt pure sphagnum. Its mixed with twigs and sticks and other stuff and I dont think it does well with propagation. Do you think I should use it in the moss pole?
yes, i recommend adding some grow space on the pole! i usually add about a foot or two extra. i try not to overdo it because then the pot might topple over lol

i needed this video thank you! 2021 is going to be the year of the moss pole....!
i AGREE! i can't wait to go overboard 😂
Amazing!! I hope my little micans with 5 leaves can be big like yours someday! And the new camera is *chef's kiss* !
the moss pole is KEY! she will definitely grow big and strong with one 🤩

of course!! i found moss poles to be confusing for the exact same reason. so far, so good but i definitely fall behind on the maintenance 😅

Good content. Looking forward to and update on the Pothos on the moss pole. Subscribed.
youve convinced me to finalllyyy put a moss pole on my raphido lmao

omg yes it comes VERY compacted lol. good luck with your poles! they take some work but really pay off :)

I do have a question, about how many grams did it take to do that pole??

New subscriber here! Great video! 😊 Just wondering, how do you transfer a plant that was trained in PVC to a moss pole?
Such a great video everything I wanted to know
That is a very impressive moss pole! I think five feet is really the perfect height because the two foot pile I fashioned was quickly out grown.
i completely agree! and with the amount of work it takes to make a pole...i want to make 1 per plant ONLY lol

okay with the micans flex i see you😎
it's really not a big deal 💁🏻♀️

I don’t have the netting so I crochet it!!!

How are you going to moisten Moss pole without getting the soil too moist since you buried it into the soil?
Love this video and our channel is amazing
i appreciate that so much, thank you for the support!!
So if you bury the moss pole into the soil and then you water the moss pole is that not going to keep the soil to moist?

cпасибо! oтличная идея! Я плохо говорю по-русски, но мне нравится практика. c помощью google. хахаxa
great video
How do you wrap it when you have a really long vine? I have a over 3m long adansonii and just don’t know how to wrap it around the moss pole.
Wow! I would love to see that!!!
I got a bag of sphagnum moss from home depot that isnt pure sphagnum. Its mixed with twigs and sticks and other stuff and I dont think it does well with propagation. Do you think I should use it in the moss pole?
i've done that and havent had any issues!
how to not keep the soil wet with the moss underneath the soil?
someone please tell meek i am also scared of the garden mesh
meek was there to embody my inner concerns
Is it best to use a bigger moss pole than the size of your plant?
yes, i recommend adding some grow space on the pole! i usually add about a foot or two extra. i try not to overdo it because then the pot might topple over lol
ohhhh handled a cat relax
i said what i said 💅
Use gardening gloves next time
