And so have I ! I also use it to clean the little bit of gunk that gets on the insignia of my Stainless steel skillets they always look new with a little bar keeper friend for the rest of the surface
My wife is a hair stylist. Several years ago she was complaining about what a pain it was cleaning hairspray crud off her curling irons. I suggested she try the cold oven cleaner product. Worked great! A quick spray and let it sit for a few minute, wipe off. Follow up with a damp cloth to remove cleaner residue 👍
The way I get my sheet pan clean is to bring it to my neighbor who likes to clean things. Leave it for a day and when he brings it back, I have a clean sheet pan. Works every time!
This showed up in my recommendations and I have no idea why. All I know is that this is something I've always wanted to know but never looked into, I just figured sheet pans were a lost cause until now. I love it!
Joshua Piorier, thank you so much for your feedback and the kind words. I hope you subscribed so that you will be notified when I post a new video in the future, Mike ☺
here because I fell in the same dam pit man. not sure how I got here, but now I've added Easy-Off to my Shopping List. I got a nasty looking toaster tray that's been needing cleaning for ages.
Thanks for the tip on cleaning cookie sheets. I obviously have several that need my upmost attention. In the meantime, one of my "tips" for the kitchen is when baking a chocolate cake, ģrease the baking pan and instead of using flour, use cocoa. The unsweetened kind. Gives a really nice flavor to the cake. Also, when baking banana bread, I grease then coat with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon 😋 👌
I am STUNNED! Not so much by the cleaning product used and the amazing demonstration but by all the hilarious comedians that replied! Real thigh-slappers like, "What do I do with the other half of the pan?!" Reading that comedy gold, milk came gushing from my nose! Another gem, "My neighbor is angry I returned a half clean pan." Stop it, people, you're killing me!!!
Thank you for posting! This helps us with little to no elbow grease due to repetitive motion injuries, ehlers-danlos or arthritis.. A lot of people don't understand that a small job for young people can be extremely arduous for the elderly as well.
Worked like magic!! Thank you very much!!! I did use gloves, a mask, and safety glasses though. Brought back to life a tray that I had given up on - well done!!
Thank you so much for having the courtesy to come back and leave feedback. I do have an updated video demonstrating how to clean sheet pans that requires absolutely no scrubbing or oven cleaner. I'll include the link, Mike 🧔 ua-cam.com/video/26Id-i2cv5M/v-deo.html
Thanks! I have a kitchen tip to share....when our coffee/tea mugs get stained to the point where the dishwasher no longer gets them clean, here’s what I found to be helpful: take a piece of paper towel and moisten with white vinegar. Use this to rub the inside of the cup. The vinegar will remove the stain easily. Then, just wash the vinegar out with soap & water or put it back in the dishwasher to remove the vinegar!
Just put a very small amount of bleach in a mug then fill it with water. Let it sit for a couple of minutes. I line up all the mugs and cups and then pour the stuff from one mug to the other every couple of minutes. It cleans them all quickly. Then wash them with dish liquid and water to get rid of the bleach smell.
I use vinegar as well, but I just fill the container up with water and vinegar (in the morning) and let sit until I am ready to fix lunch. Wash with soap and water and done. The family has been using vinegar for stains for generations.
@@robertmontefusco8302 If you use a mug for tea and coffee it will really stain. Use some mugs for tea and others for coffee. Just rinsing mugs after use helps. Fill with water until you wash them.
@Bercilak de hautdesert try it; let me know how much you spend on replacement sheets. I worked in a restaurant where we cleaned carbon steel pans this way, but aluminum will absolutely warp.
This has been my holy grail for years. I’ve experimented with every solvent and cleaning product I could think of including the original EZOff oven cleaner which I occasionally use on my stainless cookware when I scorch something badly. Oven cleaner seems to be the only product that can eat through the burnt-on polymerized oils and fats. However it does ruin the aluminum. The trick here is the “Fume Free” version which frankly doesn’t work as well in the oven. I incorrectly assumed it would have same negative effect on my sheet pans and was ecstatic to find that I was wrong. It worked great and didn’t damage pans at all. It does require more effort that the original full-fume version, but no more that I was already expending with dish soap and steel wool pads which never removed the baked-on blackness. Huge kudos on this tip! This is actually the first video review worthy of the time it took to write. One note worth mentioning is that shiny new pans don’t cook quite the same as the discolored ones so you may have to adjust cook time or temperature a little bit. There are plenty of videos that describe this phen in more detail.
thanks for the tip for a side hustle.. now i "borrow" pans from my neighbors, clean half of them, then return them, then ask for a fee if they want their whole pans to be clean..
I have several serving bowls without lids. Tip for covering large bowls without covers. I buy cheap shower caps from dollar store and cover and store bowls in refrig. These fit well and will stay in place.
I figured this out years ago, when I had to clean my oven. It does work, and I also use it to clean the bottom of my pots and frying pans. It really works.
Here's a cleaning tip: A while back, I burned brown basmati rice on the bottom of my farberware pan. Scrubbed & scrubbed, it wasn't coming off. A friend told me to try letting the pan soak in classic Coke overnight. It worked like a charm, the acidity ate through all of the baked on crud, and my favorite pan is like new again.
Yep, that is exactly what I have been using for at least ten years to keep my oven pans clean. It just came to me one day that if it could clean an oven, then it should have no problem cleaning those baked on bits of food from pans. When I saw how well it worked it became my go/to for cleaning up stuff nothing else would touch. Sometimes it helps to use what is called a Stainless Steel Sponge instead of Brillo pads. Of course it may leave larger visible scratches than would a Brillo pad, but it will take much less elbow grease to get those hard baked on issues like he had in that lower right corner which he never fully removed.
I have used S.O.S. pads for 60 yrs. for pots and pans, cookie pans. I started using Easy-off to make it easier , about 20 yrs. ago. I totally recommend these. Thanks.
Some folk just don't appreciate the work involved in getting a truly matt finish to your pans and just try to clean them back to tasteless, sterile metal surfaces again! Philistines.
Those pans he was cleaning were just plain ole fashioned neglected. I Have pans 20 yrs old that are crust free. I’m anal with my cookware. I don’t like dirty greasy pans.
I hadn't even thought of trying Easy Off. I have a stack of pans that I've been avoiding because SOS pads will only go so far in getting all the baked-on build-up scrubbed away. I'm definitely going to try this method. Thank you so much for sharing this tip.
That was my concern: Ventilation. Easy Off I believe says to use only in a "well-ventilated room" because the fumes can be quite toxic. If I tried this method in my commercial BBQ dish pit it might cause a catastrophe. But I can't really take these cook sheets home to do it. Restaurants probably think it's just an appearance issue and doesn't really effect the taste of the food or efficiency of the cooking process.
I've watched this vid before and couldn't find it in my saves. Happily found you again! I have to say I have never let a pan get that far out of hand before taking the steps to just GET ON IT!
I agree with you Linda. The pan belongs to my neighbor. Personally, I switched to stainless steel pans and put them in the dishwasher. Something you would regret doing with aluminum pans. Mike
THIS METHOD WORKS GREAT!!! Thank you so much for making this video. My aluminum pan has been accumulating baked on grease for over 5 years, and I was able to get the top side looking brand new after about 10-15 minutes of scrubbing. Most of that time was spent getting interior folds clean (where bottom meets side wall). I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I couldn't help myself. The bottom surface with the dark, caked-on grease came off so easily I almost cussed out loud 😂 I actually left the oven cleaner on the pan for two hours in the garage. FYI, leave the garage door open about 1ft. I left it closed and came back about 10 mins later and the entire 2-car garage smelled like the cleaner. There was no scent at all after two hours with the 1ft gap. Thanks again!
I don't wash my baking sheets. Instead, I always use parchment paper when baking with them. If something spills on the sheet, I wipe it off with a paper towel. I did this as an experiment when I got a new set of baking sheets last Christmas. They still look brand-new!
@J OneLife You can often get parchment and and aluminum foil at the dollarstore nowadays! But, more importantly, if you're just doing something dry like cookies, you can re-use the parchment several times though! (at least twice on each side if not more) before throwing it out. I often re-use my tinfoil too, depending what I used it for. (And I mean, lots of people buy cooking spray, which is gross and a waste of an aerosol can, and you have to clean greasy overspray off your counter and stove... I was always taught to just wipe oil or margarine on the pans with a piece of waxed paper but it depends what you're doing... if it's sheet baking I'll usually use parchment. If it's like a loaf pan or cake pan, I'll put waxed paper at the bottom to make sure it comes out of the pan smoothly, and then clean the sides.)
Using parchment paper and/or aluminum foil is way more relaxing than the above procedure. They usually prevent these baked-on occurrences and are perfect cover-ups when they don’t, lol.
Worked like a charm! I wish I could post before & after photos. My grandfather's stainless steel sheet pan from the 1940s looks fantastic. Made on Cleveland, Ohio USA. It reminds me of him and is sort of funny how we have fond memories with inanimate objects. I may just put it in my burial directives to put this in the casket with me. :) Thanks again!
Veronica, thank you very much for the kind words and taking the time to leave feedback. I would bet you that if you put a sheet pan in your casket when they plant you on the ground that you just might be the only person ever to do that, haha. I appreciate the thumbs up, Mike ☺
I have been using easy oven off for 20 years. I Also spray my oven racks with Easy Off and put them in trash bags and leave them for a few hours then I hide them down in the yard (no scrubbing). Then I wash them with soap and let them air dry. You are my kind of cleaning guy. Thanks so much for the confirmation!🎉💐🎉👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My mom was a great cook, but like every cook a pan would get burned stuff stuck to the bottom. She would put baking soda, 1/4 cup or so and enough water to boil for at least 10 minutes in the pan and set it to boil. After ten minutes or more if it's really burned on and rinse. It worked every time. Thank you for the tip on the pans, I have more than a couple that need real cleaning. 🙃
Austin, Ha ha, no chance she would never go for that. In fact, when I did return it she said, oh good here's another one for you. But I can't complain, she's a good cook and shares lots of grub. Mike ☺
I remember washing a pot for my parents. When I asked my mom if she bought a new pot, she told me that she had it for 10 years! After asking her what her secret was, she said, "Barkeeper's Friend!" Work's like a charm~
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. I have some good news for you. That video has been updated and there's actually a much easier way to clean sheet pans and cookie sheets. Here is the link if you want to check it out, Mike 🧔 ua-cam.com/video/26Id-i2cv5M/v-deo.html
I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember. Close to 40 years! It also works great on Pyrex glass bakeware. I usually just spray the glassware, let it sit a while then wash off and then I run it through the dishwasher to make sure all residue is off. People ask how my bakeware always looks like new!
Brenda Mallette, Brenda that is a great tip! Especially the part about putting them in the dishwasher, the Pyrex glass bakeware that is. I appreciate the feedback, Mike ☺
I've watched a couple of your videos now and I have to say that you are extremely professional in front of the screen. And I have enjoyed watching these videos that I have seen so far. And look forward to watching more.
Thanks for the tip. I am also thankful for channels that offer help to make life easy on how to operate, fix and maintain bought tools with poor instructions.
10 October 2019, Palermo, Sicily. Hah! The joys of the Internet! It makes you you learn amazing tips from someone living on the other side of the world and makes you think why didn't I ever thought of that?
That is a great idea ,I would never thought of that. I just recently started using Dawn power wash on the bottom of my pots and pans , it does wonders and you don’t even have to scrub(which I do). Showed my mom and she was amazed. She went and bought several bottles and used them all within a few days.
My grandmother would have shot you if you did this to her pans. They were much like cast iron. Well seasoned and non stick because of that. Oh and the "sheet pans" with the about 1/2 inch raised sides are Jelly Roll pans. A cookie sheet has no sides. She corrected me on this as a kid a lot. She was a professional baker. Some things stick with you.
YES INDEED -- my grandma also used "tin-foil" and she had about 200 rolls in her cupboard when she passed away. Now I have it all -- "tin-foil" some of grandma's pans and no issues. When pans get old and used up, I use for catch basins in garage for leaky oil from wife's car or when I drain oil from lawnmower. Sometimes I wash pan with gasoline and reuse in the house if i am short on pans whilst baking cookies or flat breads.
My mom and my grandma taught me to just wash with dishsoap like anything else and don't worry about the baked on grease because it seasons the pan and makes it better over time.
This works amazingly well, Side note, since I personally am not a fan of scrubbing, I got some disks from Harbor Freight that fit my cordless drill they are the green scrubbies type so they work perfect without scrubbing. And yeah if you rinse really well after the pan will not pit.
Wow, thanks. Now I have an excuse to go to Harbor Freight. I'm surprised I haven't seen those there. Great tip. I have seen a Dremel brand scrubber at the hardware store but I couldn't justify that purchase but since I already have a few cordless drills around, great idea.
@@TheBostonFern you want green scrubbing discs the color dictates the roughness ask for them at a hardware store or Home Depot Lowe’s anywhere they sell a Dremel tool will carry them
@@KitchenTipsOnline Thanks! I appreciate the vote of confidence. Always looking for better ways of doing things and always happy when I see I am doing the best I can.
Just a tip..I myself have always cleaned my baking pans/sheets the same but that extra baked on gunk that you're scrubbing so hard will come off very easily with boiling water poured over it and scrape off with a spatula! Same with burned pans with food stuck in the bottom, no need for lemon juice or peroxide or other things just simply cover the burned on food with water bring it to a boil and scrape off with a spatula or wooden spoon. It takes very little water and boils fast and comes off quick, happy cleaning😁
Tip, wash sheet pans with SOS scrub pad after every use can also add a little bar keepers friend for axtra difficult spots. No harsh fumes... Will always look like new....
That's a good tip, but I don't know very many people who are that organized. Ha Ha ☺ The sheet pan that I cleaned for my neighbor had not been cleaned in years. Mike
Yeah I do that and still get gross stains. No matter how long I clean it. Or what I clean it with. Oil in a pan baked at a high temp creates deposits that really don't like to come off
We have found bar keeper's friend works for a lot of tough cleaning. We cleaned ceramic tile that had literally 100 years of grime and the only thing that worked was bar keeper's.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to uses Easy off. It's a great product now that theres no harsh smell. I use it on all my pots and pans and grills with build-up
Melissa Jones, thank you so much for the thumbs up! Someone in a comment a while back recommend using it as a stain remover. I have a sweater that had a stain on it for years. It is a beige sweater with a rust colored stain. I sprayed it with easy off then let it sit for about 2 hours. Put it in the washing machine and the stain was gone. So yes, I I'm also a big fan of easy off, Mike ☺
@@borderlineiq This is the best comment in the comment section and needs more attention. If people know what they're working with at least they can research it. I was pretty hesitant about this method because I don't like stinky chems but I read that they've cut the smell back and now that I know what's in it I'm comfortable using some safety gloves and doing this myself. As it seems like the best solution.
MICHAEL HOOYMAN, there you go you are already ahead of the game! Thanks for the kind words and the thumbs up. If you have any other tips please don't hesitate to share, Mike ☺
Why didn't I found you earlier! A couple weeks ago a threw two sheets out. And bought some beautiful sparkling new ones. I do actually bake. Bread and so on. The new ones already have some ugly stains starting up. This time I won't wait until they are horrible. I'll keep that easy off under the sink and leave my bar keepers secret in hiding...just for the bar! Thank you so much!! I'm subscribing to your channel after liking, sharing and saving. Best to you!
Thank you very much Monica for the kind words the thumbs-up and for sharing. If you don't mind let me make a suggestion to you. If you do a lot of baking, which it sounds like you do, you might consider using stainless steel sheet pans or cookie sheets. I have several half size stainless steel sheet pans that I used most of the time. Here's the great thing about stainless steel, you can put it right in the dishwasher and it comes out sparkling clean. Yes it cost a little more upfront, but the time saved scrubbing and cleaning is well worth it. We have them on our Amazon Affiliate Store and I will include the link so you can check them out if you like, Mike ☺ amzn.to/32KnGNr
Cheryl R Leigh so true! I buy mine from a restaurant outlet and have to get 1,000 sheets at a time. (My friends love that I share) however, I’ve inherited some ugly pans and will try this.
Mary Landsmann, thank you so much for the follow-up and having the courtesy to come back and leave a comment so other people and see how it works. Mike ☺
Supposed to folks have mention grease lightning in the comments section so I'm definitely going to have to check it out. Thanks for the feedback, Mike 🧓
I inherited so to speak a whole stack of cookie sheets that have been in the family for years. It would be nice if they were like brand new and now I know how thanks to your great video.👍
Here's one for Christmas baking time: when making cookie frosting (I make a cream cheese buttercream), use only 1 beater in the mixer, whip the butter before adding the cream cheese. Then beat the butter and cream cheese until smooth and thick. Add the first cup of powdered sugar (my recipe calls for 3 1/2 cups) along with the flavoring extract. Beat until combined and then beat the rest of the powdered sugar in 1 cup at a time. The frosting comes out creamier than when beating the sugar in all at once. Also, I try to make the icing a couple days ahead of time, then refrigerate it until I need it. The longer it chills, the better it tastes.
styx53ocean, thank you so much for your detailed instructions. Although I don't do a lot of baking myself, I'm sure your information will definitely come in handy for the folks who do. I appreciate the feedback, Mike ☺
Hi. Haven't watched you before but found your advice helpful for future events. Just as a further idea I spray my pots and pans, stainless steel, with vinegar after I wash them. Takes out residue left and makes them shiney. No scrubbing and don't add water. Also I had a stain at the back of my stainless steel sink. Could not get it out with anything I tried. Then I used coconut oil. Ha! Came out first try. Pass it on it was sure a blessing to me. Thanks for what your doing.
Yeah, this is same the conclusion I have come to recently with all my pans. I just leave them in the oven, even when cooking something else. Any lingering grease just bakes on permanently and forms a nice protective layer.
@@michaelengelby732 I remember another video somewhere else talking about this. A new shiny pan will reflect more of the IR heat than a dull scratched up used pan. Which is why older pans tend to cook better.
@@andyh9382 From my experience using IR cameras, a shiny surface and a dull one (both made of the same material) will absorbe the same amount of heat energy. The amount of light reflected does not necessarily correlate to heat being reflected.
People complaining about dryer sheets not working are doing it wrong. You need to use 3 sheets and only put the pan in the dryer for exactly 11 minutes on the delicate setting. 👍🏼
I’ve been doing this method for 25 years. If your sheet pan doesn’t fit in the dryer, bend it in half over your knee and when it comes out of the dryer it will naturally take its original form.
I just watched a video where the lady spoke of seasoning pans. She said the old discolored ones were much more effective for browning roast veg, but new unstained is better for pastries that burn easily on the older stained pans. A bit of a science worth looking into
Literally.. Just 20 minutes ago I tried to clean my cookie sheet. Gave up within 2 minutes. Finished my dishes, sat down, opened UA-cam and BAM! Problem solved 👌 Thanks
Thank you for posting this easy and quick method. I've been using 'BAR KEEPER'S Friend' for a few decades. I'm loving the current cream version but the old powder works just as well. Looking forward to more of your tips. I aspire to having a sheet pan sized 'sink' :)
You are welcome! Bar Keepers Friend is a great tool and works well. It just requires way too much elbow grease for me compared to the method demonstrated in the video. Thanks for your feedback, Mike 🧔
I like Barkeepers Friend also.its very easy to get lye burns with EZ Off. I know..using same method.Make a paste, let stand...SAFE ON STAINLESS STEEL....
This is amazing! I have a cookie sheet that looks awful and I have tried for years to get that sucker clean! I was so close to just buying a new one, but I’m going to try this method! Thanks!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback. Keep in mind that if it's extremely dirty, you will need extra elbow grease with the SOS or Brillo pad, Mike 🙂
What I've used for decades on baked on, burnt on messes in pots and pans. Hot water to cover area to be cleaned. Squirt on a little dish soap. Then sprinkle in baking soda. Leave stand for fifteen minutes. Everything lifts easily with a plastic scrubbie.
I find that you can harmlessly clean the controls on the cooker, with vinegar. This also works on the enamel top of the cooker itself(with a bit of dishwash liquid added if the cooker is greasy). Using vinegar in fact is ANTIBACTERIAL too, AND it makes a white cooker nice and white again! All the best, Nygel
@@KitchenTipsOnline if you like my ANTIBACTERIAL tip, about using vinegar to clean persistent stains from splashes of soup, etc. Off cooker controls ,(because it cuts through grease), I saw on television that someone also used vinegar on a sponge, (together with dishwash liquid), on the grill pan of a cooker. This cleans off fat after grilling bacon, etc.!
It works great! I used it on my toaster oven pan. Extra tip: I sprayed it outside on a paper bag, let it sit outside, cleaned and rinsed it outside as well. No fumes in the house. I used a steel wool but I think a brillo would be better. Using these same steps, next time I would try heating the pan first then spray and probably could clean right away without waiting.
Janine, thank you so much for taking the time to come back and leave feedback. I think heating up the pan or warming up the pan I should say is a very good idea, Mike 🙂
@@pettytoni1955 I think it's not just soap that's embedded in the pad. I think there may be a fine, abrasive polishing compound, at least in Brillo. I have not used SOS.

If you have exceptionally dirty sheet pans or cookie sheets, you can reduce the amount of elbow grease necessary to get them clean by letting the cleaner soak on the pan for about 4 hours. Mike
Hey, this is great! After using this product, I think you can also soak the cleaned cookie sheets or pans with soap and vinegar for 15 minutes four times just to remove the chemical residues. Or better yet, use lemon on the pans and cookie sheets, leave for 15 minutes. Repeat 4x. Just my take.....
It doesn't hurt to be extra cautious, however I have never had an issue with leftover residue after rinsing with hot water and dish detergent. Thanks for the tip.☺ Mike

Hi Jay, I got a job in a commercial BBQ restaurant and the guys in the smoker pit use these large sheet pans that are literally black with caked on crud...much worse than your video shows. But they just keep using them that way anyways. Does built up crud effect the efficiency of a cooking sheet pan. I have read before that it does reduce the efficiency of the cooking process. I want to use your system to "fix" all of their cooking sheets but if it is only an "appearance" issue and does not effect the efficiency of the pan or the quality of the end product then I will probably "let sleeping dogs Lie"...Can you please give me your input? Thanks a lot. @@KitchenTipsOnline
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I line my pans with aluminum foil or parchment paper.. it makes cleaning up fast a d easy, too. Just toss the liner and -if needed - rinse and dry the sheet pan.

Thank you UA-cam for putting this in my recommendations, just recently my husband tried a pizza pan using a tip he read about, I think it was salt and vinegar, after that didn’t work I tried a tip I read of using ketchup, that did t work either. Thanks for personal reply Mike. I understand and now will have to get the fume free version of oven cleaner! What I’ve done all my years is just the pads like I mentioned. Never actually allowed my sheets to get that bad. Always scrubbed them after use. AND, I forgot to mention....... my cookie pans aren’t aluminum, my father made them out of stainless steel. Some regular size, some larger. I love ‘em. People tell me I make the best cookies. I attribute that to my pans. Always clean and shiny. Not close to kitchen or I would send you pictures.
You're welcome Janet, but here's the thing, if you have stainless steel pans, which are the best by the way, you don't have to scrub them at all. That's because you can put them right in the dishwasher. Obviously you won't be able to stand up large pans because they would block the wash arm in your dishwasher. I have a couple stainless steel pans myself and after I use them, I lay them down on top of everything else on the upper rack. Works like a champ! They won't get tarnished in the dishwasher if they are stainless steel, Mike 🙂

Worked great! A quick spray and let it sit for a few minute, wipe off. Follow up with a damp cloth to remove cleaner residue 👍
Don't do this on tourmaline or ceramic ones. It takes the coating off

Hey that is a great tip! I can't wait to try it. I appreciate you sharing, Mike 🧔
Bleach works really well for those stains also.
@@robertmontefusco8302 If you use a mug for tea and coffee it will really stain. Use some mugs for tea and others for coffee. Just rinsing mugs after use helps. Fill with water until you wash them.
I use dry rubber dishwashing gloves to open jars. Gives you grip with both hands and works every time. I like your kitchen!
I clean my sheet pans by putting them in the oven during an oven heat clean. They come out great. No chemicals. No scrubbing.
I know have a self cleaning one as well. I will pop them in the oven. Thanks for the tip.
They will warp and be useless. Don’t do,this.
I do the same.
@Bercilak de hautdesert try it; let me know how much you spend on replacement sheets. I worked in a restaurant where we cleaned carbon steel pans this way, but aluminum will absolutely warp.
i used to do that too but i moved and dont havea self cleaning over anymore but yes that works also
This has been my holy grail for years.
I just clean the inside of the pan and not the bottom of the fan. That helps a lot with the browning of food.
thanks for the tip for a side hustle.. now i "borrow" pans from my neighbors, clean half of them, then return them, then ask for a fee if they want their whole pans to be clean..

Excellent tip! Thanks for sharing I'm going to try it myself, Mike 🧔
@@KitchenTipsOnline You're quite welcome! Although, after witnessing that level of acidity, I'm a bit reluctant to drink the stuff anymore, lol....
That is an excellent suggestion. Thanks for the tip, Mike 🧔

I hadn't even thought of trying Easy Off. I have a stack of pans that I've been avoiding because SOS pads will only go so far in getting all the baked-on build-up scrubbed away. I'm definitely going to try this method. Thank you so much for sharing this tip.
You are welcome! 🧔
Did this in England and it worked like a charm ! Thank you dude! Just make sure you are in a well ventilated room!
Thank you very much for your feedback in the kind words. Mike ☺
Thank you so much for having the courtesy to come back and leave feedback. I appreciate it, Mike 🙂
No problem at all. It was my pleasure!
You can clean your pans at the same time as the oven by spraying the oven first and then the pans and place all in the oven. Contains the mess.
@@xiola I rinse out and re use sandwich baggies
@TheReisecup89 Save the dolphins and stuff...
Using parchment paper and/or aluminum foil is way more relaxing than the above procedure. They usually prevent these baked-on occurrences and are perfect cover-ups when they don’t, lol.
You can not always find parchment paper in the hood.

Gross
That's just cooked food not seasoning
My mom and my grandma taught me to just wash with dishsoap like anything else and don't worry about the baked on grease because it seasons the pan and makes it better over time.
I have my father-in-law’s bake sheets from his bakery. The crust is about as thick as a dime and nothing sticks to it love these pans
Patina is what it's called. Pizza places leave it on for this very reason. It's the same thing as a seasoned cast iron skillet. It keeps flavors.

Doesn't really matter if the outside of the baking pan darkens. It will actually lead to better cooking for most of the things you use the sheet for
Like a wok?
Yeah, this is same the conclusion I have come to recently with all my pans. I just leave them in the oven, even when cooking something else. Any lingering grease just bakes on permanently and forms a nice protective layer.
@@michaelengelby732 I remember another video somewhere else talking about this. A new shiny pan will reflect more of the IR heat than a dull scratched up used pan. Which is why older pans tend to cook better.

@@Wakeywhodat I tried that, but it stayed bent, although the laundry room does smell like cookies now.
Too funny.
Yes, it works better when you throw your sneakers in, too
I just watched a video where the lady spoke of seasoning pans. She said the old discolored ones were much more effective for browning roast veg, but new unstained is better for pastries that burn easily on the older stained pans. A bit of a science worth looking into
Very hood advice. Thanks.
You're welcome! 🧔
Literally.. Just 20 minutes ago I tried to clean my cookie sheet. Gave up within 2 minutes. Finished my dishes, sat down, opened UA-cam and BAM! Problem solved 👌 Thanks
Ha ha, just in time ☺ Mike
Me Too 😉😉😉
I’ve used this for years! Works like a charm! Everyone thinks I’m crazy.
Awesome Katie! Sounds to me like you're on the ball. Thanks for the feedback, Mike ☺
Bar Keeper's Friend is the best for cleaning everything.
@@donnagagne3813 I love Bar Keepers Friend
Oxalic acid is main ingredient in Bar Keepers Friend. It's much cheaper to buy.
That’s the shiniest kitchen I have ever seen!
Thanks 🧔
Cathy Childs Morrison, thank you so much for your tip. I appreciate the feedback, Mike ☺
Nigel, that's a great trip! Thanks for taking the time to share. I appreciate it, Mike 🧔
Your Dog Toby is cute and your kitchen is beautiful! Thanks for the tip!!
Janine, Brillo and SOS pass are actually steel wool with soap embedded in them. 😊
@@pettytoni1955 I think it's not just soap that's embedded in the pad. I think there may be a fine, abrasive polishing compound, at least in Brillo. I have not used SOS.
My secret was handed down from generation to generation for several hundred years and here it is.
Clean the items in-between uses and don't let it get funky. I've also been driving the same vehicle for 45 years. There's a common thread here that keeps life simple.
But what do you do in your spare time? What's that? You don't know what spare time is? 😉
I always clean the pans, right after using them, but they still look horrible. Scrubbing, very hot water and soap. Don't know why.
To help keep them looking that nice, use parchment paper, it took me several years before I figured that out. 😁
Thanks for this tip also Kim, 🧔
They have reusable silicon sheets now, saves tons of paper and money.
Use aluminum foil
I can’t believe Kim kardashian is that smart
I have this for the bottom of my pans but never the cookie sheets but will tomorrow. Thanks
Lynne, I use it also for the same thing. Thanks for the tip, Mike 🧔
I did exactly what you said & it was awesome! I was ready to throw out 4 pans. Now they’re as shiny as the day I bought them! I’ll be hitting that subscribe button now!

I love UA-cam! Everything you could ever want to know is on it. It's terrific!😃👍

My dog barked when she heard the dog on the video. She jumped up and looked around. Lol

Mine did, too! A puppy that has taken me 2 hrs. to get settled down! Next time I use ear buds! ☺️
Omg I LOVE you!!! I purchased some used muffin pans from my local thrift. They are the mammoth pans Perkins restaurant uses... I look forward to bringing them back to life!
Ihold8stars, wow! You're too kind. Thanks for the feedback. I hope you subscribed so you can see more videos in the future ☺ Mike
If you have exceptionally dirty sheet pans or cookie sheets, you can reduce the amount of elbow grease necessary to get them clean by letting the cleaner soak on the pan for about 4 hours. Mike
Kitchen Tips Online l
Hey, this is great! After using this product, I think you can also soak the cleaned cookie sheets or pans with soap and vinegar for 15 minutes four times just to remove the chemical residues. Or better yet, use lemon on the pans and cookie sheets, leave for 15 minutes. Repeat 4x. Just my take.....
It doesn't hurt to be extra cautious, however I have never had an issue with leftover residue after rinsing with hot water and dish detergent. Thanks for the tip.☺ Mike
Kitchen Tips Online Oh, yes, hot water too...why didn't I think of that? Great video, Mike!

Where were you when I found the extra heavy restaurant type sheet pans at a flee market that were probably 10 times that amount of built up stuff. I almost didn't take them as they were so bad, but then the guy said I could have all three for something like a buck each. Good Lord, I worked on them for hours. I did get them clean, and I love them and keep them that way now, but this would have made it a lot easier. Thanks for the tip. I just subscribed.

Wow that's a great idea. I wonder if that I do will work with rims on your car. I'm going give it a try and I'll let you know. Thanks

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I line my pans with aluminum foil or parchment paper.. it makes cleaning up fast a d easy, too. Just toss the liner and -if needed - rinse and dry the sheet pan.
I have started doing that also a few years ago, it really saves your baking sheets
Yeah, let’s all use loadsof aluminium foil (that can’t be recycled if food backed on!)
Stuff the planet, I’m too lazy to wash my bakeware 🙄😡
We use parchment sheets for cookies--and other things that need cooking in the oven: fish cakes, French fries, etc. My cookies get lots of compliments. I tell everyone!

I also use it on glass cookware and use it to clean my bathtub. Easy Off is a great product!
I do recommend using gloves however, because it burns my hands and makes my fingertips rough.

Thank you UA-cam for putting this in my recommendations, just recently my husband tried a pizza pan using a tip he read about, I think it was salt and vinegar, after that didn’t work I tried a tip I read of using ketchup, that did t work either. As soon as you started spraying the cleaner on I did the ole forehead smack 🤦🏼♀️ and said of course, easy off! It’s 3 am so I am going to wait til a more normal hour to dazzle my husband with my skill in cleaning that pan.

taughtmetobloom, you my friend, are already ahead of the game! Have any other tips you would like to share? Thanks for your feedback, Mike ☺
Just learned that Easy Off has a fume free version. Great.
