You are the best, and I'm extremely picky as I own a cleaning business! I have gotten so many tips from you that I've been able to incorporate into my cleaning jobs, pass tips on to clients, and recommend your channel to them. I have watched tons of cleaning channels over the years that were either recommended to me or for amusement due to some bizarre cleaning hack or cleaner that never really works. You should have millions of subscribers. You will soon!!
One thing I’ve noticed with my pans is that regularly cleaning the grates on my gas stove means not as much buildup on the pans! Spray Dawn platinum makes that a lot easier.
I’ve had great results from a little barkeeper’s friend when my stainless steel doesn’t look quite perfect. Both exterior and interior. Also fantastic for sinks.
I also use barkeeper's friend to clean heat tint, and it gets rid of it a lot faster than vinegar. I don't care about scratches too much, so this works for me!
Great video! My stainless steel/cast iron/stainless steel set of pans were purchased in 1967 - and still look and work fabulous, using Bar Keepers Friend all these years. Except for the 1 small pan which caught fire when I fell asleep while melting wax. The pan was rescued by rushing it outside and quickly shoveling dirt in it. Pan cleaned up nice except it left it colored all blue & pink. I will be using your vinegar trick immediately!
@Cleanthatup •LeCruiset?Help was a wedding present to my Mum 1971 both her and my Dad have died 21/22 my son really loves it it's orange ?I don't want to further kill it externally any clues ?
@@CleanThatUp Simmering with dish detergent seems to be a waste. At least use the detergent water after it cools and before throwing it away. It should still have enough cleaning power for gentle scrubbing of the inside of the pan.
@EllaBella-76 So very sorry for your double loss. My parents married in '65. Separated 30 years later when I the youngest of two became grown. My daddy passed day after Thanksgiving '22. I still have my mother, but hard to know at this point how long as she is badly sick.
I’ve used easy off. I used it once to one of my moms pan that she got from the 80s and she asked me where I bought new once since she hasn’t found that exact model since. Lol
I have missed seeing your videos! This was probably one of the most brilliant ones ever. I actually cannot wait to clean all of my pans and bring them back to life.❤😊❤😊
Great information, Brandon. Can you suggest something to remove the cloudy whitish haze in stainless steel pans left by cooking legumes or plain rice? (Cooking rice even leaves grain imprints in the haze instead of cloudiness.) I've tried scouring it away with "gentle" scrubbers, even soaking in Dawn Power Wash for 10 min first, but no luck. Seems like it has to wear off with repeated uses (that don't involve beans or rice!).
I managed to keep an old deep baking tray my mom would use for turkeys, hams or chickens, and I'll try the vinegar trick to see if that'll remove the discoloration. It's only from the early 90's, so still a very sturdy thick metal pan. 😊
Thanks for the suggestion. When you got to cleaning the bottom of the pans you used a sponge that looked different than the Scrub Daddy. Are you able to drop a link to that? It looked very effective at lifting the grim in combination with the Bar Keepers Friend.
Yay top 60 and top 4 likes and comments. Love this channel. Thanks for mankind this video. Best to you and your family. Clicked on video 22 minutes after it was posted. 9:22a.m., Saturday December 21st, 2024
Loved the video! Can you please do a video on how to clean Carote non-stick pans? I have some cream colored pans that have bad staining inside and out. Is BKF safe to use on non-stick pans? Thank you.
I usually just boil water in it with a little soap after I'm done cooking, then wipe it out with a rag. Then I give it a film of bacon grease and put it away.
Hey, do you think you could do a video that talks about recontamination of surfaces when cleaning? I'm trying to get better about cleaning but one thing that has always confused me is whether to swap out, say, a towel for a fresh one or not. When is it okay to scrub all surfaces with the same sponge? An example of what I mean is in your video talking about cleaning a sink. In the video, you scrub the inside of the garbage disposal (which to me seems like it'd be covered in bacteria) and then you proceed to use the same scrub data shortly after to scrub the sink head and handle.
Also, this may sound odd but, dry the outside of your pan first so the residual oils don't get transferred from the inside to the outside and then heated on the next time on the burner.
Great video as always, my Wisco friend. 😉 Can you do a video on resurrecting non-stick pans? Actually, I don’t know if it’s possible to bring a non-stick pan back from the sticky brink … I “heard” you can simmer with water/baking soda mix but I tried that and it didn’t work.
How about cleaning baking sheets ? (NOT the non-stick ones). I read where you use vinegar and baking soda, let it sit then scrub with a scrubby, such as Scrub Daddy. It didn't work for me. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you for your effort and useful information in the first half of your video but I need to make a constructive criticism: in the definition you informed that we are going to be using the everyday household items although for the bottom of the pants you are completely recommending a product that we are going to be able to find in your region. Now I'm in Barcelona what should I use? Thank you.
Fucking awesome! I've always wanted to know how to clean the bottom surfaces of these pans. My old folks been using Ajax for years. Time to get these surfaces looking like new again. Thank you for the demonstration!
If I see spots on my pan, I wipe them with a microfiber sprayed with cheap vodka. Then I quickly use the same cloth to wipe any appliance on my counter that might need a touch up. A spray bottle maked "Vodka" in my cleaning supplies does look funny, I have to admit.
@ thanks!! I’m in the Netherlands and googling your comment helped me figure out the NL version 😄 it’s called Schuurpoeder I think, multiple brands have something like it
Watch Chef Jean-Pierre's take on cleaning pans. He says they are not cars....furniture..they are work tools! He has stainless steel pans that are over 30 years old. Scour n scratch them babies!!...they can take it!
HOw can I remove the water drop marks on glass showers? Tried so many things already and nothing can completely remove the water drops stains... tried half water/vinegar and detergent, tried pure vinegar, tried glass cleaners, removers, and nothing works! As soon as I splash the first water after cleaning all the water marks shows up..... I think I may need a very strong acid to remove those stains.. the only thing left for me to try is car window cleaners....
Had he put baking soda in the vinegar and water on the stove, I'd be like, I can't looooooook..... Once upon a time, there used to be a local car wash. On the sign it said, Take A Bite Out Of Grime. Who wants to get together and take a bite out of grime? ( no, not actually taste it, as that would be nas-tee-aaaaaaay.....)
its great when you explain what causes the stains. not just how to remove them
For sure added bonus and eminent info!
I keep the inside of my pans pretty clean but the bottoms could use some attention. This video has motivated me to get going on that! Thanks!

I would give Bar Keepers Friend a try for that!
I have the same problem! Did you ever get a response?

That really helped me, thank you
Wonderful!
Wow that was amazing 😍
Glad to see another video! You're a favorite!!
Yay! Thank you!
These pans can be found cheap at thrift shops. This is great info to bring them back to life.
Really like Bar Keepers Friend!

Phenomenal Work ✅👍🏾👌🏾🧹🧽🧼🚿🫧
Excellent video, thanks for sharing. Last week I watched your video on how to season a cast-iron skillet. 🍳
Thanks for the information. I have a pan I love but it is totally black on the outside. I'll try Bar Keepers like this.
I use cameo instead of barkeepers friend. Does wonders!
👍🏼Haven't seen that stuff in years where I am, though I think the active ingredient might be the same as bar keeper's.
Thank you for your informative video. I’ve learned so so much from you.
Glad it was helpful!😀
Thats exactly the video I was needing thank youuu
Very helpful! Thank you!
BKF is amazing!
I would graciously lend my cookware for a cleaning video. Heck, I would graciously lend you my entire house! 😁
Love this, thank you for sharing these tips! Do you ever tackle cookies sheets because mine always get nasty real quick?
Brilliant thankyou ☺️

Came to comments to ask same question.
It was the red plastic scraper,
Great question! This is a Scour Daddy from Scrub Daddy. Still non-scratch but does an awesome job at lifting grime with the BKF. thanks for watching!

Just use Pink Stuff! It's amazing. Remember to clean with dish soap after.
What was that little red pad you used on the last pan with the bar keepers friend?
So cool
So that's what happened to Ajax!!!! Always wondered.
you have such a gorgeous lovely smile🥺
@Brandon what about burned baking pans?
does barkeepers more work as well for this or is it recommended to stick to the non-spray version?
I usually just boil water in it with a little soap after I'm done cooking, then wipe it out with a rag. Then I give it a film of bacon grease and put it away.

No. But actually yeah, keep making!
What about the stainless steel scrubber that is sold at the $1.00 Tree?
Does the liquid bartenders keep work well also?
Yes!
Also, this may sound odd but, dry the outside of your pan first so the residual oils don't get transferred from the inside to the outside and then heated on the next time on the burner.
Nothing beats old gasoline and stauinless steel swarf
Great video 😊 Are there any alternatives for BKF for european followers? Thank you!

Does heating vinegar not create any harmful fumes?
No, I use a vinegar solution to clean the bathroom. Even if you smell it, it doesn’t hurt anyone.
@ Are you heating the vinegar in the bathroom?
@@ThatsTheWayItGoes No, but I’m convinced that it’s harmless.
I use heavy duty oven cleaner on the bottom of my stainless steel 3 ply clad pans.
I like to use Bon Ami rather than BKF because it is food are and works just as well.
Did your loaner appreciate getting a newer pan?
What's your recommendation for cleaning a Blanco sink? I have a stain that is killing me! 😂 Thank you, Brandon!
A Blanco sink.
I have to Google that, I never heard of that name.
@holyexperience1976
It was put into my kitchen during a remodel. It believe it's a granite type material.
Do you have a video on glasses that have gone "foggy"?
BKF!

I just tried this technique with liquid bkf and a scrub mommy....it wasn't so good. I'm going to get the powder kind next.
Lol I've been scrubbing ours with steel wool for yesrs
like your black sink..what is it....stone?

Look for a cleaning with oxalic acid in it. You can also use white vinegar and a little dish soap. Thanks for watching!
Fucking awesome! I've always wanted to know how to clean the bottom surfaces of these pans. My old folks been using Ajax for years. Time to get these surfaces looking like new again. Thank you for the demonstration!
Baking soda and vinegar the best
Instead of vinegar, could you use citric acid?
