I remember playing the early access build and always being excited for anytime they added something new. But when they entirely revamped the story I was so bummed because being stranded on the planet is so much better than willingly throwing yourself onto it. It captured the feelings of the first one and that would have made the game so much better. Hopefully Subnautica 2 will capture the feeling of "alone" again.
considering co-op is the most highly voted for feature in subnautica 2 so far, it probably will not really be alone but hopefully they can still capture the sense of strandedness and relative isolation / fear of the unknown even with multiplayer features
@@Kero-zc5tc in all fairness, you don't think games like L4D2 or Lethal Company would be scary since you've got friends. But the screams they've produced are quite genuine lol
@@vahdoom Yeesh, didn’t know it was quite that bad Makes me sad tbh, since outside of its story goofs I think it was a fine game, just an unworthy sequel
i have a vivid memory of watching someone play the beta and finding the community dubbed "biter leviathan" skeleton from the first game just sitting in the middle of absolute nowhere underneath the ice sheets and i absolutely for the life of me cannot find it anywhere on the internet anymore and im starting to think i made it up in my head for some reason
I see why they changed it. The idea of having a bunch of people in a space station talking to you, and sending you stuff, even for a bit, did hurt the isolation feel, compared to the version we got, at least for my experience (yeah, it probably differs from most people but that's life). But it also had a lot of really interesting story elements it's sad didn't get used. Personally, I actually really liked and was perfectly happy with the below zero (again, hot take; I was satisfied with it) we got (rip cyclops though), but it's small really interesting to see the other story that was planned as well. A lot of fascinating cut features.
I thought this was just gonna be the old intro, as if there are people who don’t remember that, but the moment I started seeing jellyshrooms I just went insane.
I love how we went from "a guy takes over the entire planet, to the point of a whole ass alien being powerless" to "Samantha Ayou is mortally unqualified"

I like the the revamp. They give her agency in stranding herself in this planet in contrast to a freak accident.
@@lostconstruct1008well the game can be played alone with co-op being completely optional and single player being the main mode
I don’t see it being very scary if you are laughing in a vc with your friends

Never know y they changed it the original start is waaaaay better than the one they have now
They changed writers mid devolpment
Probably why the game’s story went so weird tbh
@@cosmerdisstudios4399 yeah there was some development hell for sure, I think I saw it went through 3 or 4 rewrites

@cosmerdisstudios4399 it's even more sad to think that the original creators had so much pride in there work but just gave up on it

I will try to find it if i do i will post a pic in community tab also i will reply to this comment again to tell you
You absolutely didn't made it up. It's real and it was a placeholder fot the current Frozen Leaviathan
I remember that too tbh
Honestly glad they didn’t just make the whole first game just robins dream
the jellyshrooms are a placeholder for the anemones things in the final game
ok

It was better than what we got released that's for sure

Love to see more early access gameplay❤
Imagine the jellyshroom caves in the final game
Edit; I assume this was the deep lilypads cave and they were not making the grand cotton anemome
Early acces bellow zero is more enjoyable than retail
help i might die from expired toothpaste i feel sick
Cool to see Below Zero in early access
I love the current version of below zero but this one seems so much cooler!
Wait so originaly Sam was suposed to stil be alive?
That last one, giant squilbs.
The original story was so much better lmao
crabsquidpocalypse
true
I remember that
they should added skdadibi toilet
ok?
Now many people will disagree with me, but the main developer God should remove this kid from the multiverse
@@ikatz876 i disagree with you. i think skidabe is funny
