I just wanted to give you a tip for finding stalker teeth for enameled glass because It would take forever your way (no offence), if you have the scanner room blueprint and materials for it, you can build it near the reefs biome and scan for stalker teeth, this makes it much easier to find especially if you've been around the biome for long enough so that stalkers can actually drop them. Sidenote: I'm aware that you cannot build a base for this challenge. Tips aside, great video, really enjoyed watching!
I've actually done a playthrough like this, though not as strict as 'never build anything except cyclops'. I did basically completely ignore base building and vehicles to speed through getting a cyclops up and running and then basically used it for the rest of the run as my main base, even getting rid of the original small base I'd made that was a single space wide
i remember they used to let you build solar panels ontop of the cyclops to charge it, but they removed it because they wanted players to go deeper with it i also wish you could uset the scanner room cameras from the cyclops. would be nice to have a nippy drone to go explore small places
I did a play through like once but not as intense as how you did it. It was the play through that I most. I really enjoyed it, especially late game where I was trying to hide it in the lava zone
i like the idea of calling this the "mobile home challenge" lol. interested to see how this works out, and if it can be applied to the other subnautica game(s)???
never seen you before but i love subnautica and you seem chill, thanks algorithm for showing me this video also why cant you use a beacon? that's not really base building it's just to mark locations on ur hud, right?
This is gonna be a significant issues in the Lost River. I believe nickel only spawns in large deposits outside the brine, which requires the prawn suit to get, and small nodes only inside it, so you'll have to dive for that as well as for the crystalline sulfur, though I believe only the nickel is required for depth modules while the sulfur is.. hopefully not a component of the shield module for the rocket, but I can't remember. Also, you can actually get growbed blueprints from some of the Aurora wrecks, though I'm not certain on which ones. I think somewhere between the mushroom forest and the spawn area there's one with that in the red grass or something.
a tip for stalker teeth is to bring a stalker out of its habitat by making it chase you and drop it near a safe area and near the surface. a good place would be your spawn base. floaty thingy i forgot the name but yea, in an hour i got 2 full boxes and make sure to put a Beacon so they dont despawn.
i'm posting this now, i'm not halfway through the video yet. Part of the dream of using a Cyclops is the utility of also having the seaglide OR the Prawn suit with you. And you need the Moon pool to create upgrades for the Cyclops and those two other vehicles. Would be completely understandable if you built a moon pool as your only "base build" structure only because of these reasons. Also, i wouldn't blame you if you decided to go into the Aurora to repair it's reactor so it stopped leaking radiation into the surrounding area. Thankfully you did at 19:46.
Here’s a hint on engine fragments for everyone, SW of the enforcement platform is the floating islands & there is a wreck there that has engine cyclops fragments. Now you don’t have any need to go to the aurora other than the Neptune

i will just say this but yes, yes you can the only part of the game that would be remotely hard is the active lava zone as you don't really have the time to stasis cannon anything before you drown so you have to hope no enemies will engage you actually you may need kyanite wich idk if you can get other than from drilling so if you can't your only hope is time capsules and im not sure if kyanite is baned from them
