5:56 The questions, "What happened here? What happened to you? And more importantly, where are you?" These may be questions meant to tease the idea of what this world is, and what backstory the characters we play as have. This is not the same planet as 4546B, and the equipment does not look like that of Alterra. Which in turn presents the idea that we may not have the same type of vehicles like the seamoth, the prawnsuit, the cyclops, or even the seatruck. I do not think it has to do with the main character(s) having amnesia. It may just be hinting at that we are going to be following a different group of people's story. And this might also hint at we either get to see a different encounter with the precursors on this new planet. Or possibly a different species of aliens (aside from the humans, of course).
The way I found out about subnautica 2 was just randomly wanting to see stuff about subnautica on steam, then I saw it… now I have info because of you, I cannot wait
Its also interesting to keep in mind, that building gets very different. If we are new on a different planet, like the first colonists. That would also mean, that there arent any wreckage parts, or abandoned bases to scan.
I haven't seen anyone talk about the "mysterious ruins" that show up in the actual trailer at 0:21. It looks like an old subnautica base on the left and like a church or something on the right?
Agreed. A snapping feature for interior modules would be great. I didn't find it too bad how it is already though for a few reasons. When placing an object it's tranparant, and all the habitats have very distinct lines on the floor which you can use to space objects evenly. And most importantly, the object rotates WITH your view, rather than independently with key presses. This is a massive deal because it allows you to line objects up to a near perfect level with enough finesse, whereas rotating with key presses or mouse wheel will never give you that level of control. It's something Bethesda fucked up between Fallout 4 and Starfield and it's a MASSIVE fucking deal for me, hence this comment lol.
The "unless you change what I means to be human" line and "evolve your genetics" makes me think you will be able to breath water with gill or something like that, but then in turn I would think you would need an air tank except its filled with water to go on land and explore islands. Idk if that will happen then since they apparently will have tethering so you could get air from a vehicle without going inside which sounds cool so I don't think they would overshadow a new feature of that magnitude. The gills feature would be cool though since the air system would be reversed because you breath water instead.
oh man losing your memory would be kinda cool! You mentioned that the AI of the ship was *insistent* you finished the mission, almost as if you yourself (and up to 3 friends) were to be disposed of as death fodder. Maybe you knew too much about alterra's interworkings, maybe you worked with a competitor to alterra, maybe you simply got too curious as an intern, and so they ship you off in a death vessel to an unknown world fully expecting you to die. But you don't! you crash land, and just like before, you learn about something deeper. It's not a disease this time, though. It's something within the function of the planet, maybe something has awakened, gone dormant, or the planet itself is doomed to perish. Whatever the world holds in store, i (and 3 unwilling friends) will traverse this alien planet and have a good time doing so :3
Are you sure you evolved at all? A human wouldn't wish for such a dumb thing - degrading willingfully, not even for 'moral' or anything, just for the sake of it.
There are so many things I want from Subnautica 2. Multiplayer has already checked one of those things that I've wanted since 1 and BZ. But what I want is something terrifying. One or maybe two leviathans that lurk in the void equivalent of this new planet. Something like the gargantuan leviathan, or that one mod leviathan that's quiet until you come across it. Just something that's scarier than ghost leviathans or whatever the ones in BZ are. I wouldn't want them anywhere else, but I feel it would really add to that fear of the deep unknown alien ocean. An upgraded version of the scanner room where you can send out a drone to collect whatever item you're scanning (as long as it's a resource you can pick up rather than harvest; i.e. ores and deposits wouldn't apply) and have a small inventory that the drone deposits into, with the range and storage of both drone and drop off being modules you can add to the scanner room. That way you can collect some titanium or whatever equivalent while exploring another biome. Naturally this would use up a lot of power like the scanner room does anyway. The only new thing I'd love to see as far as building goes is being able to use your build tool to instantly copy an item. Wherever your cursor is, you hit a prompt and boom, another for example multipurpose room without having to go into the build inventory right after building a bed. A good addition with multiplayer is locked storage containers. That way your food or rare materials don't get nicked by that one douche friend you insist on still playing with.
it is set on obraxis prime, you know how at the start of subnautica 1 your PDA says "weapons were removed from regular fabricators after the massacre on obraxis prime" and there is a time capsule set by the developers which has a bunch of orders delivering to obraxis prime. so thats pretty cool.
The one thing I don't like so far is the early access. I don't want to play the game until it's a completed experience because that's the most enjoyable way to play a story driven game, but I also don't want the story to be spoiled while I wait for the full release.
I remember Jacksepticeye saying this same thing when he played BZ playing early access made him (kind of) lose interest and it affected his overall experience with the game
I agree. Plus, the date is JUST for early access. Imagine how long we have to go completely spoiler free, which means a lot of work on social media, so it doesn't recommend sub2 spoilers. We are gonna be waiting way longer while hardly dodging tons of spoilers just to get the complete version of the game.
I think right now not seeing any more trailers or gameplay until the game is fully released would give the best possible experience. Would have to delete youtube though
@Mason5l82 probably for a year minimum until the full game comes out. Gosh, it's crazy the length we have to go through to not have spoilers these days.
3:15 or maby it’s that giant kraken thing that head looked like somthing that would hypnotize you like that one creature in subnautica maybe that’s why maybe it’s like the sea emperor but evil and hungry
The "Evolve your genetics" part reminds me of a console command only tool from the first game that would take samples from creatures and would give certain boosts to the player; Glad to see that being put to use after who knows how long they've had it in the works
I am unreasonably excited for this game! And I'm really crossing my fingers that you're right on the money with the skill tree. Can't wait to tagteam a leviathan with friends, someone as bait in the seamoth and the rest of us trying to get samples I, for one, would definitely like to see more mono updates like this :)
Also Also, the usage of bio sampling to improve your own character is directly reminiscent of AL-AN. He has stated that the body structure of his species comes from combining around 27 different alien species into the most improved version of themselves; which could mean one of two things: AL-AN has, indirectly or otherwise, given Alterra the technology, or they have discovered it themselves, of which is now being adapted into us pioneers. It is simply a reference to Below Zero, and that game introducing AL-AN as this self-adapting, improving race of progress has made the transition to an adapting skill tree for the 2nd game simply easier to digest.
As long as we go back to a silent protagonist and no npcs it's gonna be a huge banger, if not then it'll be a regular banger. Edit: silent protagonist let's goooooooooo
Where was this said? I missed it It's literally THE most important thing to me for this game. I don't care I'd the dialog isn't as bad as the Forspoken-tier sassy quips of below zero or not, I want NO DIALOG other than a lifeless PDA talking at you If they fuck this one up, then it'll prove the first one was only accidentally good
I wouldn't mind more voice lines. I REALLY loved Al-LN and all the conversations with Robin! I'd really hope for a more talking, not all the time mind you but every once and a while would be nice!
The evolving yourself thing is undoubtedly the development and implementation of the gene splicing mechanic that they had originally planned for Subnautica then scrapped for whatever reason.
I would love in single player stories, that the protagonist has something to say or at least reacts reasonably to something. I don’t care if there is talking when you’re doing most of the tutorial. But when story stuff is happening and I’m putting pieces together it would be nice for my character to maybe clarify the situation or have something to say abt it. Like when you finally heal the bacterium you say “Hey.. it’s working..” simple one notes. Or when you find out the warpers are drones killing the infected. “Infected equals Warpers. Got it.” Al-lan was cool cause the world was small so building was kinda what you were doing most the time so having something to fill the void was kinda relatable when the game has so many holes in the story progression.
A few cool things they could do is… 1. Have Proximity Chat. 2. Keep all current creatures and only add on to them. 3. Allow us to evolve into the Gargantuan & Reaper Leviathan!
This should not be a skill tree. Skill trees are organized where the further you get the inherently better things get. I wanna see more lateral upgrades with a non linear progression.
Spoilers: I was a beta tester for Subnautica. The biosampler (then called the Transfuser) was in Subnautica before the release but it was removed as it made the game too complex. The player had to follow the path of Bart Torgal in his search for the cure of the Kharaa plague, but Bart was contacted too late by the Sea Emperor Leviathan and died before he figure it all out. The Transfuser would have allowed you to get attribute upgrades such as regeneration, nightvision, make you tougher and a faster swimmer. As a side note, I was also the one that asked for the Recyclotron (the name I pinched from Master of Orion), because I kept ending up with multiple things I ended up having no use for, such as flares.
the seamoth look alike has a very intriguing build, this could be very far fetched but it almost looks like it could connect to something like be the head of a massive exo suit, maybe it just looks like that because thats the way it fits in likely the atlas or whatever large sub they decide to add but it could be cool if we got something that functioned like that
I hope they have some good ideas over there. Things like the crashed Aurora ship from the first game WAS SO AWESOME. They need to make something that fills its shoes and then some. Same with leviathans. I want this world to be much bigger, with many more leviathan class creatures (and tbh, more GIANT creatures in general). I am really intrigued by this antagonist AI, that is such a cool story idea. Hopefully they find a way to make this story feel different and fit within the universe. I am a huge stickler for connecting storylines (to the point where it hurts my enjoyment of the game, EVEN if the gameplay itself is really good). I like the devs, hoping they can make it live up to, or better than the original!
Could just be me, but I think it would be cool to have the same tech as subnautica on like a lava or forest planet. Supposedly the emergency protocol is similar for all planets so it would be interesting to see how you would have to adapt
@jamespickles8952 I think that's pushing it a bit much to say they could have lived on multiple worlds, even if we really can't prove they didn't live on multiple worlds, the odds of that being a possibility is almost inconceivable, even for a game filled with things that are of that nature, yes. The devs are still gonna try and be as "realistic" as they can with how things are setup. I fully understand the point of it being a cool and fun idea and that's what games are about, but they are also suppose to carry their own weight and be their own image, liked for what they achieved, not to milk itself from a previous games glory. I think it's a cool idea tho just like how they made plushy, posters and toys and references to other games and the game itself in the form of decoration for bases, so that would be a cool way to "mention" it still that wouldn't be far fetched or too intrusive.
I really cant wait for multiplayer. Also it would be cool if the game had a hardcore survival mode that starts you off in other escape pods with different advantages/disadvantages.
It would be so cool if the AI is like "you're on planet 4546B! You're here to complete the mission!" But once you're outside at night, there's one too many/less moons and you realize: you're not on planet 4546B. The AI, the only thing keeping you sane in the 1dt subnautica, the only thing that helped you and guided you is LYING TO YOUR FACE! You cannot trust the AI. Player: "I am certan we're not on planet 4546B." AI" whaaaat? No, you're wrong! This IS planet 4546B! Now, go complete the mission!" Player: "No, the number of moons is wrong. What is the mission anyway?" AI: " ...." Player: "What is the mission?" AI: :)

"With the power of friendship we send you, deadly super leviathan, back to the depths of 4546C" is gonna be insane
The nature, the lighting, it all looks so lifelike. The graphics will look just like the concept art 🤩
i pray for an optional grid lock system for base building to spare my sanity
Bro objects rotating with your view has got to be the WORST thing about subnautica what are you on about
@AjaxJG skill issue
@@AjaxJG that is what i said
The "unless you change what I means to be human" line and "evolve your genetics" makes me think you will be able to breath water with gill or something like that, but then in turn I would think you would need an air tank except its filled with water to go on land and explore islands. Idk if that will happen then since they apparently will have tethering so you could get air from a vehicle without going inside which sounds cool so I don't think they would overshadow a new feature of that magnitude. The gills feature would be cool though since the air system would be reversed because you breath water instead.
2:08 I truly felt that
oh man losing your memory would be kinda cool! Whatever the world holds in store, i (and 3 unwilling friends) will traverse this alien planet and have a good time doing so :3
I cant wait to devolve from a human instead of evolving so i can be monke
Are you sure you evolved at all? A human wouldn't wish for such a dumb thing - degrading willingfully, not even for 'moral' or anything, just for the sake of it.

Subnautica is my favourite game of all time, and I really hope that 2 lives up the my hype!
im super hyped for this
Same
There are so many things I want from Subnautica 2.
Saw this before it hit ten minutes and your content never ceases to amaze me
it is set on obraxis prime, you know how at the start of subnautica 1 your PDA says "weapons were removed from regular fabricators after the massacre on obraxis prime" and there is a time capsule set by the developers which has a bunch of orders delivering to obraxis prime. so thats pretty cool.
The one thing I don't like so far is the early access. I don't want to play the game until it's a completed experience because that's the most enjoyable way to play a story driven game, but I also don't want the story to be spoiled while I wait for the full release.
I remember Jacksepticeye saying this same thing when he played BZ
playing early access made him (kind of) lose interest and it affected his overall experience with the game
@@quak420i Cant even Play early acces because i am on Playstation... I guess i need to wait for the whole Release then 😂
I'm just hoping to make the game VR compatible like the first one. With motion controls.
I had to mod motion controls, but holy shit its amazing
3:15 or maby it’s that giant kraken thing that head looked like somthing that would hypnotize you like that one creature in subnautica maybe that’s why maybe it’s like the sea emperor but evil and hungry
My theory is that this subnautica takes place on the same planet but in artifically made environment by precursors (I think that would be cool )
If it's multiplayer I'd love for customization to be a thing. That'd be cool.
The "Evolve your genetics" part reminds me of a console command only tool from the first game that would take samples from creatures and would give certain boosts to the player; Glad to see that being put to use after who knows how long they've had it in the works
Love ur vids bro they make me so happy
Finally, I don't have to be scared and alone...
I can be scared with friends
I am unreasonably excited for this game! And I'm really crossing my fingers that you're right on the money with the skill tree. Can't wait to tagteam a leviathan with friends, someone as bait in the seamoth and the rest of us trying to get samples
I, for one, would definitely like to see more mono updates like this :)
Happy to see you again Annie!!!! I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve seen a comment from you 😭😭😭
@@monoaurelio Aaaahhh no, I'm sorry 😭😭😭 I've not been able to watch a lot of YT lately, but I'll try to comment more o7
The co-op experience is gonna go Crazy. I'm prepping my role-playing voice impersonations.
I just saw the trailer and I thought it was just another fan made but I’m so glad that this is actually happening! I need to finish below zero now 😅
I love your video, no introduction, no other bs that other UA-camrs do! Only related information, Thanks dude, you are the best ❤
I hope to god that every leviathan actually has a special purpose instead of HE HE BIG THING GRAB YOU AND HURT YOU HEHE
Also Also, the usage of bio sampling to improve your own character is directly reminiscent of AL-AN. He has stated that the body structure of his species comes from combining around 27 different alien species into the most improved version of themselves; which could mean one of two things:
AL-AN has, indirectly or otherwise, given Alterra the technology, or they have discovered it themselves, of which is now being adapted into us pioneers.
I missed it
It's literally THE most important thing to me for this game. I don't care I'd the dialog isn't as bad as the Forspoken-tier sassy quips of below zero or not, I want NO DIALOG other than a lifeless PDA talking at you
If they fuck this one up, then it'll prove the first one was only accidentally good
the old scaner animation is great not sure what you mean
I wouldn't mind more voice lines. I REALLY loved Al-LN and all the conversations with Robin! I'd really hope for a more talking, not all the time mind you but every once and a while would be nice!
The evolving yourself thing is undoubtedly the development and implementation of the gene splicing mechanic that they had originally planned for Subnautica then scrapped for whatever reason.
00:38 there are ancient ruins in the background
Eagle eyes
That means nothing and everyone saw that I’m assuming that those ruins will mean nothing in this game
@@Canadian_snowman lol
@Canadian_snowman to many your comment may also mean nothing and assumption is the mother of all f$@k ups
@@Canadian_snowmanyou didn’t even see the vid look at 3:58
I would love in single player stories, that the protagonist has something to say or at least reacts reasonably to something. Got it.”
Al-lan was cool cause the world was small so building was kinda what you were doing most the time so having something to fill the void was kinda relatable when the game has so many holes in the story progression.
A sheckle for anyone that can tellcme the song at 1:01
I've been trying to find out for over a year now.
I can’t find it 😭 somebody said that it was blade runner but it’s not. I think it’s from a horror movie.
It’s the music from hereditary, the horror movie
Reborn by Collin Stetson. I think they used the same song for the final scene of the grand tour. Might have been where you first heard it!
I'm so excited for everything, the story being one of the main things, I was obsessed with the original Subnauticas story for some reason....
I can only imagine someone who has never seen a mono vid wathcing this and watching a more mono-ier vid
LMAOOOOO You’re absolutely right 😭😭😭
What does it mean?
This looks like a tropical subnautica game! I’m so happy I have always wanted that.
A few cool things they could do is…
1. Have Proximity Chat.
2. Keep all current creatures and only add on to them.
3. Allow us to evolve into the Gargantuan & Reaper Leviathan!
Make it VR Supported!! LOVE playing Subnautica in VR.
I feel like it not being on the same planet kind of takes away the uniqueness of 4546B
I mean 3 games on the same planet that we dont need to be on anymore amd has no real purpose anymore would be extremely boring and just repetitive
Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if this planet was seeded with 4546B's wildlife, or vice versa.
@@Fin_Gleam Oh I like that idea
@@Fin_Gleamthat would fit nicely with our DNA manipulation that seems to be going on
3:10 - Most scarry line in video games history

brooooo~ subnautica community is so ALIVE! LEZGOOOOOW!
I hope the protagonist is a strong sassy woman of color that doesn't ever stop talking ever.
From the limited info of the trailer, it looks like they'll be silent.
It's funny that the developer team is ONE HUNDRED percent white and there's not a single white character
@pepenero6168 Degasi crew? Aurora crew? Most of them sounded white lol
Uggghhhh uhhhhhhhh OHhhhhhhh hayll nawwwwww that's be a leviathan.- new ai dialogue
the seamoth look alike has a very intriguing build, this could be very far fetched but it almost looks like it could connect to something like be the head of a massive exo suit, maybe it just looks like that because thats the way it fits in likely the atlas or whatever large sub they decide to add but it could be cool if we got something that functioned like that
My theory suggests that the leviathan in the trailer might be a giant alien who built those alien bases
Anth had an interview with one of the developers and if i’m not mistaken it was said that this takes place after Below Zero in a different planet.
one thing i did see is that if you go into tags, there is one that says "choices mater" witch i thought was interesting.
There is not better game than subnautica 1 when u play it for the first time in ur life, amazing memories.
I wish that the gargantuan leviathan could make an appearance
Unlikely considering this is an entirely different world
@@leofhr2966 I know but I still hope it at least gets a mention. cause there's no evidence that says that they didn't live on multiple worlds
Gargantuans are extinct for millions of years
@jamespickles8952 I think that's pushing it a bit much to say they could have lived on multiple worlds, even if we really can't prove they didn't live on multiple worlds, the odds of that being a possibility is almost inconceivable, even for a game filled with things that are of that nature, yes.
@@leofhr2966 ok ok it was just wishful thinking. I love big monsters is all
I really cant wait for multiplayer. Also it would be cool if the game had a hardcore survival mode that starts you off in other escape pods with different advantages/disadvantages.
It would be so cool if the AI is like "you're on planet 4546B! You're here to complete the mission!"
But once you're outside at night, there's one too many/less moons and you realize: you're not on planet 4546B.
The AI, the only thing keeping you sane in the 1dt subnautica, the only thing that helped you and guided you is LYING TO YOUR FACE!
You cannot trust the AI.
Player: "I am certan we're not on planet 4546B."
AI" whaaaat? No, you're wrong! This IS planet 4546B! Now, go complete the mission!"
Player: "No, the number of moons is wrong. What is the mission anyway?"
AI: " ...."
Player: "What is the mission?"
AI: :)
So a NEW world! That's good. Can't wait for this.
bro if subnautica 2 has servers or 3+ players it will be complete disaster
"Detecting multiple leviathan class life forms in the region, Are you sure whatever your doing is worth it?" 🔥
Did anyone else notice the ruins in the background during the trailer? You can see them right before the guy gets sucked into the water tunnel thing.
