haha, SAME!!! I thought I needed to move my washing machine connections then I looked closer and saw the screws, jumped online & found this!!! I've been struggling for 2 years too, id throw my wet clothes down, jump over the door then load. Soooo happy now!!
@@DIYAroundTheHome Thanks for the video. I checked my LG dryer before reversing the door, the latch and the catch were perfectly centered. Now that I've swapped the door swing the latch is hitting at the top like yours did. This must be a common problem, dumb that it's not covered in the manual. There must be some other adjustment... going to try messing with the hinge side...
@@DIYAroundTheHome I must have slight OCD because stuff like this will drive me nuts LOL! I just messed around with it and it's now fixed. Looks like we both have the same/similar door hinge design, so you can give it a shot if you want. I loosened (do not remove) all 7 screws on the hinge where it attaches to the door. I applied a light downward force and could feel the door "drop" ever so slightly. Retighten screws. It now lines up properly without striking the top of the catch.
@@zichragland8880 thanks, it's been fun learning how to film and edit as well as spread the story of self-sufficiency. Half of the projects on my channel are projects I'm doing for the very first time. I'm not trying to come across as an expert as most of the time I'm not but I'm more or less trying to chronicle my experience so hopefully it can help other people as they try to do it themselves. I've benefited from UA-cam videos for a long time, it's my way of giving back lol
I'd be curious to know what you think of my newest videos, and if you think the volume is adequate on those. The video you you are commenting on was created a couple years ago. Hopefully I've made some improvements since then!
@@DIYAroundTheHome Just going by the one you posted 3 days ago, your production value has definitely improved compared to this one. You have a naturally quiet voice, I guess, and you could probably work on that, but you compensate for that a little better with clearer recording. Have you ever thought of vocal coaching? It can make a huge difference too. I'm not affiliated with him or anything, but Roger love is a voice coach who has taught people like Michael Jackson, and many other big name artists, but also teaches public speaking too for people who use their voice professionally, which is kind of like what you do when you narrate videos. Just google "Roger Love Vocal coach" and he should pop up. But big improvement on the production for sure. good job! Keep it up!
@SETH other thanks for the feedback, it's not hard to improve when you have nowhere to go but up lol. While I haven't necessarily thought of voice coaching, I've definitely thought of reading up and learning more about voice techniques from the standpoint of speed, pace annunciation of keywords and so on. My recording is so monotonous sounding that I even fall asleep sometimes listening to it. I think I've made improvements but definitely have some room to get better. I'll check out the coach you referenced and continue learning. Thanks again for the feedback
Great info! One recommendation: change tile to reflect that its only the dryer.
What Richard said. I wasted 4min finding out you're wrong. Would love you to change the title.
Thank you for saving my marriage
Hahahahaha
Your voice is so calming
Did this with no help in less than 5 minutes with 1 screwdriver. Why did I suffer for 2 years with it the wrong way?! So easy.

Thank you, took 5 min on my LG
I had the same problem at the end. I’ve tried adjusting but there’s no play at all. My door stays close but it’s not sealing
😆"I don't agree with that" Good to know. I'll need to do the same with the LG unit we're about order. Hopefully the washer is just as reversible.
Is there a stacking bracket?
How do you switch the door direction on the washer? It doesn't look the same as the dryer door connections.
You cannot switch the door on the washer, only the dryer.
You can’t
Did you ever get the bolt and catch to line up better? Any tricks to get it line up? Mine has the exact same probelm, a little worse in fact.
I didn't, it seems to a degree to be purposeful. Next time I'm at Lowes or Home Depot I'll check theirs out

I've been using it for many months now and it consistently hits in the same spot but it hasn't caused any issues that I can tell

Very cool, I'll have to try that out. No contact is better than light contact
Can you do it in the washer?
nope
@@lukebose9773 damn.
Which model is it?
DLGX3571V though most of the LG models will be similar
Why did you say washer in the description when u are in fact doing the DRYER??
@@DIYAroundTheHome uhhh.... no it’s not. Completely different hinge mechanisms.
@@DIYAroundTheHome nope different hinges
It’s not the same mechanism 🤦🏻♀️
This isn't a washing machine. This is a dryer.
The instructions are relevant for a LG washer or dryer (Update: my bad, had that wrong)
@@DIYAroundTheHome no they are not the hinges are different
@@DIYAroundTheHome Totally different door mount on washer
Mine did not work after changing..not sure why so I had to put it back..
I wonder if you have a specific model that is wired and built differently?
This would have only taken one time to watch had you not been whispering...... but good info.
Definitely learning the ins and outs on video production, especially the audio side of things :-)
@@DIYAroundTheHome You've got the instructional part down pat. ;)

Speaking loud and clear in your videos or recording at a good volume level is probably more important than you realize. Just consider it.

Really? Just be grateful how about it???
misleading title. only the dryer has a reversible door. there is no such thing has dryer washer
There is, I seen one at Home Depot
M😅mm😅
