    Just switched the door on my dryer and LG in their infinite wisdom thought it was a good idea to put on the glass a label that says “real tempered glass”. Now it is upside down and it is obvious that I turned the door upside down. Good job LG.

      lol....sorry to hear that. I went and looked at my door and I have no such label anywhere.
      Is it a sticker that can be removed?

    Thank you so much. We have had our dryer for more than three years now. And this morning something just told me to inquire about the reversible door. 😂😂thanks!!

    I recently bought an LG washer and dryer from Home Depot. I specifically told the sales lady how I wanted the doors to open. When they were delivered they opened the opposite of what I wanted. Sales lady completely ignored what I wanted. My only recourse is to reverse the position of the units. If i had known the washer door could not be reversed I would have had them installed differently. This is the third time i have had a problem with Home Depot. Never again!

      I also wish my washer door could be reversed and when I bought them I didn't know that it couldn't be. I didn't aske though.

      @@DIYNorth in my case i can put one on top of the other but the washer would have to be moved to the left side of the laundry room. Home Depot would probably charge me an arm and leg to do it.

      @@lenwoodlloyd292 i can can swap location too but then the dryer hose will be on the wrong side and the plumbing may have to move as well. So not fast and easy.

    On my dryer the door has a slight gap on the handle side vs the hinge side. Is this normal?
    Even when closed it has a little more travel.
    Everything seems to be working as designed and expected. There doesn't appear to be any air leaking from the door.

      I hadn't noticed that there was a gap in the door on one side, but I guess as long as it is sealing well its ok.

    I had trouble removing the hinge screw. I then made the mistake of trying it with an electric screwdriver drill, it budged a small bit but really only stripped the screw. I tightened back as much as possible by hand with the flat head but there's now a tiny bit of movement in the hinge, no matter how tight I get it. An all around failure!

    • @DIYNorth
      @DIYNorth  2 роки тому

      That is unfortunate. Do you have the same drier. My screws are both Phillips head with a flat head slot, did you strip both the Phillips head and the flat head portion? Or do you have a different kind of screw/drier?

    • @ro6485
      @ro6485 2 роки тому

      @@DIYNorth same screws, Phillips with flat. The flat channel is deeper so I can still just about use that. I am going to leave it alone for now!

    After door reversal, my dryer keeps stopping with the light on as if it detected something trying to open the door. I have to shut it tighter and restart it. Very annoying. Any idea how to fix that?

    • @DIYNorth
      @DIYNorth  7 місяців тому

      I'm not really sure as I've never had that problem. If everything is tight it shouldnt do that.
      Mine kicks off if the lint trap is full and it gives an air restriction warning .
      Does it flash a code where the time is displayed.

    Wish I could say my experience was as faultless - the door did not align after the installation. I had to wiggle screws around to adjust the door to get close to alignment. It's not perfect, but, closes. Are you aware of any adjustments that can be made to align the door after the reversal?

    • @DIYNorth
      @DIYNorth  3 роки тому

      No I dont think there is any adjustment ability. Other than loosening all the screws a bit and doing a minor adjustment, then tightening everything back down.

    • @toejam9372
      @toejam9372 3 роки тому

      @Ed Henderson I ended up tinkering - loosening and tightening the screws, trying to wiggle the door into new positions each time. Never could get much movement of the door back to alignment. But, finally got enough movement such that the door did close. I let it stick at that setting and really have not noticed much wearing since.

      same issue with you. if the screws were on a sliding bracket you could make further y axis adjustments but no. did you ever fix it? I hope the hinge clip doesn't end up breaking.

      1 year parts and service and 3 year for dryer drum I think.
      It might be different by region.
