@Amir0's excellent video on lag and i-frames:

He really just said "Heavy rolling bad" didn't elaborate further on his statement (which is completely true). We thank you for your wisdom Sensei Onion these videos have introduced me to different, interesting and enjoyable ways to play with weapons. Especially thw Naginata
I really apprecite the kind words!
Heavy rolling is bad but also very rare (at least to me).
And it happened that I couldn't roll catch the heavy opponent. I'm trained to catch medium rolls or occasionally light rolls.
So either it was due to a bad connection or because I didn't know how to fight the heavy roller. It took some tries until I attacked earlier and had a higher frequency in my attack chain.
Another quality guide from Onion Sensei! Using the spreadsheets to help people visualize is excellent! Shout out Onion Wife for putting up with this.
Much appreciated!
This guy deserves more views
He'll get them, he almost reached 1k subs with only 6 videos, and now 7
Be the change you wish to see in the world. Set up some screens and get to it!
@@ItsaJackall Now every new video is so much pressure 😅
@@OnionSamurai On the bright side, your vids already good enough to be this widely accepted circulated, so just keep doing you.
@Onion Samurai I Alerted the ladder community of you a while back, I'm happy it helped you grow
This is a really interesting and unique way to break these timings down, very cleanly presented, good jam.
The fact almost every r1 aligns as a roll catch makes it feel very designed. The rolls in Elden Ring are weightier and less intuitive to catch but it seems like the standing r1 button is positioned as a dedicated roll punish with the same principles as a parry. Cool stuff.
Yeah I actually didn't know that until I made this video
I actually use that mechanic very often while dueling with a Nightrider Glaive. The standing R1 tracks perfectly if the person decides to roll anywhere but away from me, which always felt so cool and satisfying. It’s nice to see it explained in a little bit more depth.
The huge value of this channel is that you get competitive-grade information but presented for every folk out there, from casuals to comps. 0 elitism, good info, easy to grasp. 👌🏻A1 content mate, hope to see you till DLC and beyond
Always appreciate your support Daniel. I see your comments on the pros' videos and you know what you're talking about, so your props are like a bs filter for me haha.
@@OnionSamurai Dude, no, I'm a fringe ass quack who should be wearing that yoke thingy the prophets wear, lmao. but seriously, man, I know this channel is going to take off, this is democratization of knowledge, it's like the missing link between the very technical, high-performance scene and the realm of the casuals who are the ones who would benefit the most from this. This community sorely needs approaches to learning like these.
I Alerted the ladder community of your presence after watching your first 3 videos the day they came out. I'm happy it's boosted your growth so much!
Excellent video. I'll have to try light roll. I always have a medium roll set up.
I'd be interested in a video on the Crucible Feather Talisman adding extra s to rolls
I'll try it out!
a good tell is that they're able to be hit when their ass touches the ground
Good point!
Heavy rolling is bad - all that needs to be said on that topic. Haha
Seriously though, this is god's work you're doing here.
Thanks! I actually wrote a lot more on heavy rolling and was like... Nobody should care about this.
Based content, great for beginners and veterans alike. Can’t wait for your next videos, don’t stop being you.
Congrats on 1k subs! You’re growing so fast!
Thanks! I was totally unprepared for how fast the channel grew 😅
Looking forward to your stuff man!
amazing video ! i was skeptical at first with the graph but it's actually really excellently conveyed. thanks!
I remember playing against you in the DS3 arenas! Glad to see your making awesome content ❤
Thank you so much for the effort to educate us and to show my appreciation I have given my sub and like.
Appreciate you!
Next level stuff bro, well done. Breakdowns like this is what makes souls pvp enjoyable
Great video, love your easy but informative style.
Much thanks!
@@OnionSamurai Maybe I'm just not online enough, but I've struggled to find good PvP content from creators who are both personable/interesting while also having a good understanding of the game.
It was videos of the sort that DANGITJM and IAMAMISH put out that really got me hooked on souls PvP, but there seems to be a bit of a gap for Elden Ring. I find your stuff scratches that itch!
Shout out to Saint_Riot too ig
Very nice video to have saved for reference 👍
very good video very useful information really helped me get consistent roll catch's
Great video, thankyou.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you sensei!!!🙇♂
good video bro 👍
Thank you 🙏
Thank you
Wowie! Killer content! No pun intended...
Amazing video. Thanks for this guide and the others. I would love a video guide on how to use the Greatswords with the alternative moveset (like Knight's Greatsword) similar to your Straight Sword video. What platform do you play on?
What a great guide! I still think it's absolutely absurd how fast and powerful rolls are in this game, to the point where this kind of effort is required just to catch someone panic rolling.
If they reduced the distance of both light and medium rolls, a lot more weapons and playstyles would become viable. As is, even medium roll is so far and fast that tons of weapons struggle to catch that. Light roll is borderline impossible to catch.
your videos are awesome dude keep it up!@
I'll keep going!
Thank you for teaching me this op exploit. Finally I can beat up the evil bully invaders!!
Hello, I have a question.
How did you obtain the frame data of Ashes of War, I've been looking for it but I couldn't find info about them anywhere.
er-frame-data.nyasu.business/
Just search for the name of the ash of war. you can find spells too!
Any resource on what weapons and its attacks have the different kinds of hitstun?
gotta tune in wen onion samurai drops 🦾
Dose Claymore charge R2 has hyper Armor,I need this information 🙏
I have to ask, did you do a lot of dark souls 2 PvP?
You seem like someone who would've greatly enjoyed their dark souls 2 PvP.
no love for whip gang 🧑🌾
Lol at the thumbnail 🤣🤣🤣
3:15 Some helpful criticism? If this video was made for new players then you should probably know that by the time you got to 3:15 I was confused as all hell by what I was looking at.
Thanks, I was worried about putting in too much frame data 😅, that's why I put in the "jump to 6 minute mark". Was the rest of the video confusing?
ONION WIFE
Thanks man, your videos are awesome! BTW: in one of the fights you showed, there was a guy sprinting and stopping, I think he was practicing the perfect block thing: ua-cam.com/video/86UtinOyThg/v-deo.html
Thanks for the 6 min skip
I'm sure a lot of people used it haha
Rare footage of man repeatedly stabbing his wife for 10 minutes
Or you can just be a Jeenine watcher and pathetically spam double lance crouchpokes... Make it Vykes to be especially evil.
Anyways, what's everyones rollcatch chombo record? I've gotten six in a row once.
Same, something like 5 consecutive hits with Slicer on a TT solo low lvl host. The chap had the spirit, unfortunately not the knowledge. I hope he learned from that god awful chain
I actually want ro know from where all the Jeenine hate comes from
@@gohbro3277 jealousy
@@gohbro3277 Personally, I think he's overly negative. Pretty much all of his videos are either complaining about the game or the players, and the comments sections are even worse. He just creates a kind of toxic atmosphere with his video titles, topics, and all the lame complaining and insults hurled at co-op players. He just never has anything nice to say and that creates a rather unpleasant following.
It's weird because a lot of what he says is true and, I think, very valuable criticism of the game, and he has a lot of useful information to offer. Just wish he would just be chill like Chasethebro or something.
@@gohbro3277 Back in the DS3 days there was a pretty strong and, shall we say, drama-inclined tryhard scene. The guy was at the top of the food chain, which in itself can bring you a lot of animosity.
He was also key in developing and popularizing techs that many people still deem too abusive, while others started copying his style vis-a-vis, which also became annoying after awhile.
Finally, he has a somewhat abrasive personality and some controversial viewpoints, both stemming from his status as a top player in the hard-core competitive side of PvP.
