A Quiet Place Part II is a 2020 American post-apocalyptic horror film written, directed and co-produced by John Krasinski. I think in the 1st movie the dad wrote the number 3 on a white board, meaning there were only 3 aliens in their vicinity.

I love how in the opening scene when John is talking to the cop, he turns and runs as soon as the monster sideswipes the police car. I feel like a lot of movies like to hold on those scenes to show the actors' shock or panic, but he immediately turned around and started running like hell. Same with Emily Blunt's character -- wasting no time to scream just GTFO. Such a cool scene.
Feels way more realistic and scary too, no dramatic shot of the actor in fear, just fight or flight
They have to show why this family has survived, when others haven’t. The answer, they’re smart and don’t mess around.

Answer's "What if it just drops a beat and starts laying down a track? Totally shocks everyone." while the rest of the guys just stare at him had me dying. And Oak's completely deadpan "Are you suggesting the aliens came here because they wanted to be DJs?" was the perfect response. 😂
Post Apocolyptic movies are always my favourite, but John Krasinski really created an awesome/scary world with this one.

One thing that I really liked is how it was the kids the kids who really stepped up in the end. So many movies give that bit of hope for the future by having the adults take care of things, with maybe a bit of help from the kids, but in this one the hope is there because the next generation knows how to survive and not only take care of business but to make progress too.

Well yes, since John Krasinski said himself that the first movie is a love letter to his kids, the second film can be meant as a love letter to all kids.
Fun fact: John Krasinski cast Cillain Murphy in this after him and his wife Emily Blunt watched the show Peaky Blinders.
I love that one of Dave's first thoughts is lets not forget this woman just gave birth less than 24 hrs ago!! Thats amazing & just shows how thoughtful of a fella u must be cause i watched this w a group at the theater & i wondered how many ppl there were thinking that as well, but then the movie took off & i forgot to ask later. Easily one of the best sequels to a film I’ve ever seen
So proud of the kids for facing their fears, especially the little boy, given that he always seemed to be the more timid and hesitant of the pair.
They embodied their father’s courage wonderfully!

Even though I'm not a fan of unplanned sequels, THE KIDS ARE ACTING THE HECK OUT OF THIS. Hope to see them in more stuff, especially Millicent. I'm betting Hollywood is not exactly overflowing with parts for deaf actors.

They made a point of showing dogs in the flashback. Especially that dog sitting alone in the truck. You know how many ppl had to abandon their dogs because dogs bark and that's loud.
Good point. I always wondered how in the first movie that dang raccoon was even still alive after 400ish days. I just assumed at that point that the monsters would have killed all animals, including wildlife, cause everything makes noise or even killed by humans for food sources. Makes u wonder if the only ones left may be on secluded islands??
True! I think they had a scene in 'The Silence' movie in which the family had to let the dog out of their car to save themselves, as the dog kept barking and it made the creatures in that movie attack their car as they were escaping.

Some might say the kid leaving the safe place when he was alone with the baby was a contrived conflict, because we all agree it was a really stupid thing to do. HOWEVER, kids that age are very likely to do some really stupid shit, especially when they’re scared and alone and under immense pressure like that poor boy was. He did a massively stupid thing and it was totally in character for a 10-year-old (or thereabouts).
It is admittedly though, a bit too stupid even for a kid of even younger age. Kid just had his foot nearly taken off by a bear trap. Sure I can suspend my disbelief for the sake of the movie but that is more than just an “oopsy”. Basic self preservation is still there in children. The movie is definitely an awesome movie, but that scene in particular is definitely totally forced.

I like to think the monsters don’t want anything. We are so used to stories of intelligent life invading the planet, but what if it was just something higher on the food chain that arrived here by chance? That’s far more scary!
Well, higher on the food chain would mean they came for food and humans are on the menu. So they would have come for something.

If you have an island with peaceful animals and drop a tiger in there, the tiger will be higher on the food chain than anything else on that island. The tiger did not go there for food, the tiger got there against its will.
The same can apply for those aliens. We don't know how they traveled to earth, thus it's entirely possible they landed on it by chance ... which means, they didn't come for anything. They hurdled through space and hit earth. Nothing more.
I watch this at the cinemas and it was insane how quiet it was in parts, people even stopped munching on their popcorn. Such a great movie. I deffo want more movies set in this world

There are a couple moments where you find the kids step into their own bravery and will to survive. So moving, and Blunt just kills it, as per usual lol.

I dont know if you caught it in the first movie, but on his information board, there was something that said sightings in area or known in area and there was a written 3 on it. So I always asumed that meant there were 3 known monsters in the area - or range of their house. I dont remember the exact wording on the board.
Pretty sure it said "confirmed" framed inside a rectangle just fyi, & ur right it did say "3"

I'm a huge movie nerd. After seeing this movie once, it was immediately put in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Your cheers just hurt after you watch it every time

Marcus had never been left alone before. He always had someone to look after him, Mom, Sister, Dad.. Alone in that bunker with the baby, I can only imagine the thoughts running through his head. Everyone is gone. Are they even still alive?
It's like looking out the window waiting for a loved one to return.
i prefere the first one. it had a tone and a tight story arc that can't be recreated. u liked how more intimate the first movie is. i feel like there is so much more tension. in this one, i feel like sounds are not as banned as they should be. it seems they escape from the monsters too easily. in the first one you wouldn't be able to just outrun them, but in this one you can. i still liked the movie for what it was and i do look forward to the third movie.... and if nothing else, the intro of this movie was really really powerful.

Thank you! I was saying the same thing when I saw this bandit trap. I wonder how many victim they had until this happened. Like, if they're going to kill you anyway, make some noise and take them with you. And Emmet even survived.
To answer what the monsters want: I think all sound hurts them. So they attack anything that makes noise. Which is why they stay away from running water in the first movie

super nope. they actively go after noise. easily debunked by how their companions came to the noise. they just learn that water is lifeless.
@@RonLarhz maybe it's only specific frequencies that they can handle because just like what we saw at the end of AQP1 the creature opend its mouth to the amplifier.
Not all sounds hurt them, just that one frequency the hearing aid produced. They come from a place where they evolved their hearing. Not unlike creatures in our deep oceans where they lose their ability to use their eyes cuz they don't need it down there.
The monsters have really sensitive hearing so anything they hear they run towards it. It’s dosnt seem like all noise just loud noise. I don’t think they like it they are like bats can’t physically see but using hearing as an aide to guide them. Since there hearing is sensitive high pitch sounds scramble there brain and they get stunned.

This monster design reminds me a little bit of Cloverfield…which is my way of requesting a Cloverfield reaction
Regarding the "how did nobody figure this out before?" point, i'd argue that someone probably DID. These movies cover one family in a teeny tiny area of the US and it's not like long distance communication is an option, someone could have easily figured this out a few months in on the other side of the country without the main characters knowing about it, and the narrative doesn't rule out this possibility either.
We don't know exactly how long it took society to collapse (but we can guess based on the movie's opening that it happened pretty fast), so this could have been figured out within a few DAYS and it wouldn't have mattered without ways to spread the information around. Many people probably hypothesized that sound was the key to beating them, but we don't know how many figured out what KIND of sound or that a high frequency was key, we don't know how many people knew a high frequency would do the trick but didn't have access to the right equipment, and we don't know if any of these people survived long enough to pass on the information.
Don't get me wrong, it can be a valid criticism and i also have my issues with this movie, but i tend to give it the benefit of the doubt considering the extremely narrow lens that we're viewing this apocalyptic scenario from. I also don't necessarily consider it a plot-hole just because the narrative doesn't give you all the answers and provide context for the whole world outside the limits of the actual story. We know about as much as the characters know and everything outside that has endless possibilities.
TDLR: One person/group of people figuring out the solution to this alien problem is likely but doesn't automatically mean the world is saved

I love the first movie, especially how unique it was, the sign language, plus the loving family dynamic. I have more nitpicks about the second film. But I'm still invested in this franchise. Watch the trailer for the next installment.

Few notes from me on what Oak said.
-With the monster getting to that island randomly….remember in the first movie, the monster submerged itself under water with Emily Blunt in that one scene. So they can swim and they obviously very clever creatures
- I LOVE how this movie plays with sounds and tension. It’s one of my fav movies bc of that
I always look forward to Oaks comments because his take is always so different and interesting.
You know the tension is well done when Oak tries to twist away from the screen.

Saw both movies in the cinema (crazy!) and caught myself not even breathing a couple of times 😂 but the first one definitely made bigger impression on me - maybe because this concept of entirely silent movie was pretty new to me. Cannot wait for your Fallout series now ❤

I believe that both are good movies and no different , the reason why you had the aliens more is due to the production went up as after the first movie it made profit , and gave the audience more of the development of the alien itself on its strength and weaknesses .
The silence through the deaf girl was amazing putting you into her shoes , i also watch these movies in the dark something that you can not do and getting your voew.
I solely have a man cave where i can watch these movies in the dark with ambient color lights not to much in the room with dark corners for more entertainment .
It is totally different than sitting in your living room , i prefer the total effect and believe the second one is on the same scale but on same level but new production on more writing and scary moments .so it is there but better production.

The bridge they view the boats from on the mainland is the South Grand Island Bridge, about 20 minutes from me, one I've driven over so very many times to get from Niagara Falls to Buffalo.
I think the reason they were lighting the fires was to keep count of how many people were still alive in the general vicinity and if the fire isn't lit they know that the people at that site are no longer alive. I like that in the 1st movie it was ultimately the adults that gave the killing blows but in this one it was the kids that held there own and landed the killing blows in end.

I always get so scared when I think about how it started. It was SO sudden. I’m guessing whatever crashed on earth was containing them and they started running to the sounds right as they landed..It’s just horrifying. Like, litteraly no warnings or anything. Just instant chaos.
Such a great film series! Can't wait for number 3! It still annoys me every time in this movie where the daughter goes off by herself in a world full of aliens that kill you by hearing you and you are deaf and no concept of how loud you are possible being to stay alive! One of the stupidest decisions I've seen in a horror movie but great way to build tension and keep you on the edge of your seat!

I'm with Oak about The Road. It makes me a little nauseous just thinking about it. Not because it's gory but because of how dark and depressing it is.
Parts of this were filmed in my area so its cool to see places I know and see how they were adapted to the movie.

I’m excited to see the prequel
Imho, I think the overall feeling was to make it as close to what a human response would be. It was day almost 500, so your emotions would've changed cause it was survival mode an having had to suppress natural human responses an emotions to adapting to save or more importantly keep your lives. I also think in that way, they wanted ppl to spk about what they'd do in their shoes. I'm glad they did that cause it showed they were only trying to survive best they cld. But they still showed the determi of a young daughter determi to make her father's work a reality for everyones sake. Maybe why Emmet didn't want them there is a more normal response as any. I know that if I'd survived that long myself, I wouldn't want anyone coming in an jeopardising that cause he obvs didn't know if they were as stealth as him as far as noise goes
Plus, she had a literal newborn plus 2 kids with her! To add to that her young lad had been gripped by a bear trap so he naturally came in screaming. A human response by that time wldve naturally been every person for themselves an most probably hadn't seen anyone in over a yr, plus silence. I think them being there gave Emmet more fight as in wanting to do something rather than just survive. I personally loved it because of the, how accurately would humans respond in this situation? aspect.
The main performances were excellent.

I love your guys reactions! Mine is that this movie had WAY too much going on. It’s suspense situation after suspense situation- which ultimately makes it seem less effective.

My wife and I both felt like it just needed to be a Kill Bill/Dune-type part 2. Not so much another story is same setting but a single large story split into to pieces.

Also, The Road is a very powerful movie. Seen it a couple times cause i like post apocalyptic stuff but yeah agree, probably not the best for a reaction. That movie though along with lord of the rings really got me into Viggo movies though and make me realise what a good actor he is
