This movie rings so true to me, because I actually knew a Cady Heron IRL (I almost wish I could post a picture- she even had the red hair). First day of school she came in dressed in a very unflattering pantsuit, sat next to a blonde and another brunette girl who were very pretty and stylish. I pointed to my friend and said “watch that girl change to become just like the other two”…by the end of the year she was wearing shorter skirts with heels 👠 dressing, doing her makeup and talking just like them. It’s surreal how perfectly the situation mirrored the movie.
@ I never believed they actually liked her, I think they found her annoying and didn’t socialise with her outside of school, I think she gave up trying to be in the popular group but her style clearly evolved just being in proximity to them.
I appreciate Oak's thoughtfulness, and I appreciate Answer's laughter and expressions, and Quinn's genuine kindness! So much power from these guys! You guys are owning the react meta!
You finally made it to the best film ever created!!!!! Only downhill from here. This movie was such a staple for me growing up, it's wild how literally every scene is quotable!
I always found it hilarious when they say "she comes from Africa" like there are no countries but a single unit there. I wonder if they'd say "she's from Europe" had she come from Serbia.
As someone who was born in South Africa but raised in the US, I've given up explaining this to people, as well as correcting them when they ask if I speak "African" like that's a language 😂😂
@@yuukinoyuki9064I think that idea comes from not paying enough attention in school 'cause I'm pretty sure they had some geography lessons at some point. I mean we still talking about people who believe everyone who speaks Spanish is Mexican even though 20 plus countries have it as their official language... If you are smart enough to know that's not the case in Latin America, you probably get that's not the case with "Africa"... so yeah, laziness.
I think about this when I see clips and I'm like 50/50 on it. It is basically lazy writing. But Cady's mom (according to a random google snippet I just spent 3 seconds researching to confirm my theory) is a research zoologist. She may well have actually studied habitats in multiple different locations in Africa over the years, so instead of listing every country she's lived in, she just summarizes Africa. I mean if I spent 5 years living in Paris, London, Berlin, and Amsterdam, I'd say "I lived in Europe for awhile", despite most Americans knowing those cities and countries. So yeah, kind of lazy, but sneakily justifiable...maybe.
For example she identifies the specific tribal vase by name, not "African tribal vase". On the other hand I have now set the writing up to be criticized for inaccurate appropriation of names as well as the trope that everything African is "tribal" alas.
@@gabbodelaparrawrites It's definitely ignorance, some of which comes from a lack of attention paid in school. But also, in their defense, the subject is very poorly taught in American schools. Africa is mentioned in the US in reference to the African slave trade, spoken in generalities like that, "taken from Africa." Beyond that kids might learn about circumnavigating the world and having to sail around the Cape. But they never used country names to describe the geography. It was always "the African Cape" or "the Horn of Africa." I think we had a proper geography lesson on the countries in Africa in 5th grade, and then never again. I remember having to tell people in highschool that Egypt is in Africa.
My grandmother bought me the book this was based on when I was around 10 then we saw the movie in theaters the year after. Definitely never expected it to become what it is now lol. The book was actually very helpful but it's funny to imagine what she must've thought during the movie. 💕

One of my all-time favorite movies. I remember being 9 when this came out in 04 and wanting to see it so bad in the theaters. Wasn’t able to but did get the DVD for Christmas that year, I think. Wore it out. Now at 29, I own the digital copy and showed it to my mom and grandparents; they all loved it, even my 69 year old former Marine grandfather was laughing out loud. It ages like wine and is one of those chick flicks that anyone can enjoy because it’s just such a damn good comedy.

I appreciate your guys' sense of humor and willingness to just have a great time watching the movie. This movie and some other comedies I have seen younger reactors watch and barely laugh while nitpicking things the whole time.
So a problem I have had with this amazing movie since the beginning - Damian and Janis take this completely impressionable girl and recruit her for their revenge schemes and when the girl becomes like the people she's spending the majority of her time with they *get angry and call her names* and they never get any shit for creating this pretty monster. What Cady did was absolutely bad but their relationship started with them lying to her to coerce her into skipping class. Her only friends. On her second day of public school. Ever. Damian and Janis deserved some heat.
Well, I think the point made was that Janis was as mean a girl as Regina was, she even says this in the movie, I think Cady was just trapped in the middle of a "Mean Girls" war.
@@luiscalzoncit2820agreed but I think OP is saying the two didn’t apologize to Caty for it but towards the end you can tell they are actually still friends and not just based in revenge

Great reaction, boys! As an older millennial born in the 80's, this was our generation's signature high school movie.
the way I gasped when the notification popped up 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
the fact that rachel filmed this and the notebook at the same time just shows how good of an actress she is
This movie rings so true to me, because I actually knew a Cady Heron IRL (I almost wish I could post a picture- she even had the red hair).
That was nice of them to help her out
@ I never believed they actually liked her, I think they found her annoying and didn’t socialise with her outside of school, I think she gave up trying to be in the popular group but her style clearly evolved just being in proximity to them.
As a millennial woman, I was so excited to see you react to this! One of my most quoted movies of all time. Just the best!
I appreciate Oak's thoughtfulness, and I appreciate Answer's laughter and expressions, and Quinn's genuine kindness! So much power from these guys! You guys are owning the react meta!
You guys were watching one of my favorite movies ever. That's so fetch! 😂 now I need you guys to watch the devil wears Prada, please 🙏
Agreed
Oak's words at the end were very touching. He's always very well spoken and wise in a lot of areas. Thanks for the vid!
What a way to start the morning!
I was 13 in 2004. I was obsessed with this film. Let's relive my youth ❤ let's goo🎉
I'm so happy y'all are doing this one, it's SO FETCHH!! 💗
You finally made it to the best film ever created!!!!! Only downhill from here. This movie was such a staple for me growing up, it's wild how literally every scene is quotable!
Been waiting for this for sooo longg
SO MANY ICONIC QUOTES!!!
''That is so fetch!''
It was always "the African Cape" or "the Horn of Africa."
I think we had a proper geography lesson on the countries in Africa in 5th grade, and then never again. I remember having to tell people in highschool that Egypt is in Africa.
Can’t believe this film is 20 years old. But it's a high school classic. Just joke after a joke.
This was my coming of age movie when I was in high school. I still quote it constantly 20 years later 🩷
Congrats on 250k, I love your channel a lot! Happy to see you guys succeed, it's so deserved! Sending well wishes from Chicago!
Thank you so much for the super, neighbor! And thanks for spending some of your time with us🤙
I miss lighthearted teen movies like these, the newer movies are usually depressing.
Bottoms has the same vibes!
@@Uhhnyhny ok I will check it out
I loved this reaction. You guys are so funny, the nonstop laughing made me laugh more
You go glen coco 😂 excited for this reaction ❤
This movie never gets old. Loved watching this reaction with you guys !! 😂❤
I don't think I have seen Mason laugh this much ever 😂
This reaction is SO FETCH ❤
IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN !!!
@@smelly1060 You can’t sit with us! 😝
You guys giggling at this movie is a win! Bravo. Love when you guys step outside your typical genres. Thanks for making me laugh.
the sarcastically deadpan way cady says ''gretchen weiners...had cracked'' always gets me
Love to see grown men giggle! Mean GIrls is a classic, great insights, guys!
Not sure how I got away with seeing this at 7 but it has stuck with me ever since!!! Movie is iconic!! "Glen Coco, four for you! You go, Glen Coco!"
My grandmother bought me the book this was based on when I was around 10 then we saw the movie in theaters the year after. Definitely never expected it to become what it is now lol. The book was actually very helpful but it's funny to imagine what she must've thought during the movie. 💕
I love your willingness to watch movies outside your preferred genres that aren't "targeted" to you & to do so with an open mind. Y'all are so fetch!
I laughed so hard with Oak Mason and Answer until my stomach hurts 😂 thank you for that I definitely needed it!! You all definitely need to watch NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE!! And I am a mom to a teen daughter and I've learned her to not judge anyone you don't know what they're going through
Me too! I’m so weak 😂
Fun fact! Tina Fey spoke with high schoolers at the time to find a slang term to use, but realized that it would be dated even before the movie came out, so they made up "Fetch" for the movie
Mean girls is the best! So excited that you guys reacted to it
One of my all-time favorite movies.
This is a 5.0. Breakfast Club for this generation and the fact that it still 99% holds up highlights how great it is.
Kevin Gs rap was and always will be my favorite part of this movie. Right next to the random guys reaction to when Lindsey comes out of the house on halloween 💀💀😂😂
At work sometimes I run across dog toys with a label that says "Make fetch happen"
Genuinely my favourite reaction channel!
i love how genuinely entertained you all were 😂😂😂 made it a v fun reaction to watch, glad you enjoyed this classic !
When they say that laughter is the best medicine, it definitely is when watching Badd Medicine! your laughter is so contagious, you laugh, I laugh 😄 I loved every single reaction of yours throughout this movie, you guys are truly a ray of sunshine making everyone's day brighter, I didn't have the happiest time in school & was bullied alot & what you said in your review comments shows you have the sweetest souls & purest hearts, thank you ❤ & that was an adorable reaction from Quinn being bashful about Answer's comments in the intro hehe ☺️
As always, thank you so much for your super!
@@BaddMedicine you're welcome! & Definitely a favourite for rewatch in future! 💚
The guy who played Aaron Samuels wrote a Mean Girls-themed cookbook and the cover is the burn book
There'd better be a Maillard reaction in every recipe 😂 (related to browning/caramelization but chemically distinct)
you guys only said like a total of 5 words this whole video lmao it was just pure laughter the whole movie. I love it!!! you guys had me in tears
The wheeze laughing is extra fabulous in this.
I enjoyed this reaction. You guys barely spoke, just laughed the entire time 😂😂
I'm ALWAYS shocked when people say it's the first time watching the original 'Mean Girls'! So many pop culture moments and everyday references come from this movie! 😯💗
the 2015 version of 3 way calls were when you called a friend and got them to say something rude about your other friend, then they reveal they're at their house.
LOVE that you guys were cracking up the entire time! I was a freshman in high school in 2004 and they nailed the look and energy of being a teen at that time! I think it’s so successful (aside from the writing) bc the teens actually looked like teens! It’s my #1 movie of all time. I’m dying laughing watching you guys watch it 🤣
This has became one of my Dad’s favorite movies that he quotes regularly! I’ll get random texts… “I just wanna lose three pounds” and “whatever, I’m getting cheese fries” are his favs 😂
yes!! reacting to all the iconic 2000s movies is the best thing
You guys have to watch “White Chicks” since you loved Mean Girls so much. Trust me, you guys will die of laughter lol
You guys totally got this, having been around during the early 2000s. This whole movie is so on point-- the costumes, the dialogue, the memeability of the dialogue, every single character's delivery... this was an instant classic in 2005.
