When this movie came out i was in Trinidad recovering from surgery. Trying to hold my laughs back but i tore open a stitch and was right back in the hospital before i got to finish it. FOND MEMORIES they were. .. AND THAT WAS MY FAVOURITE PART.
I’m not sure where to place movie recommendations. I really think you guys would like the movie called “The One I Love.” It’s described as a comedy, I would say it’s quirky, but leaves you amused and reflective!
I always wanted to suggest this movie to you guys, but I thought it was so out of your usual movies that it would get passed on. I'm so glad it's finally happening 😁
@@BaddMedicine gentlemen, i just discovered a korean movie titled The Outlaws.. the main cast is Ma Dong Seok, he is the husband from Train to Busan. it was soooo good and i want to recommend them to you.. also, i found out there are 2 more movies, continuation to it. and The Outlaws 4 gonna come out this year, please watch and react to it if you got time.. Much love 💕
Fun fact! The dude who plays the booth manager on campus (Jesse and Becca's boss) is in Harry Potter and plays McClaggen, the kid that likes Hermione in Half Blood Prince!
This was shot at my college (LSU) while I was there. One of the Bellas was not actually an actress meant to be in the film ("Ashley"). She was a LSU student who only auditioned to be an extra. But she was so good they made her a Bella! So I saw it in the theater but also happened that the girl was there that night too ... just at the local AMC. And so she went up and everyone was clapping and cheering for her.
omg I knew it was filmed here in Louisiana but I didn’t know it was filmed at LSU! i’m from NOLA but when this movie came out I was going to boarding school in Lafayette. on the weekends we could pick an activity to do, and so we would load up 2 school buses and all go see Pitch Perfect every single weekend that it was in theaters. We would all get up and dance durning the movie, and for the rest of the school year we all did the “Cups song” during dinner time LMAO those are some of my absolute favorite memories I have from school!
Really??? That's just a testament to her talents then. I wonder if she didn't audition or producers didnt keep her, were they planning to keep both of the treble-boned bellas instead. Cause I read somewhere that when Kelley Jakle (Jessica) auditioned the producers decided right there and then that they want her on the film as she, out of all the cast members, is an acapella collegiate champion herself.
I've seen this so many times but all of your laughs are so contagious I was laughing like it was the first time again. Oak's constant disappointment in Mason was hilarious. I'm so grateful with how open minded all of you are, which makes you one of the best reaction channels on YT, imo.
I saw this in the theater and I was the only one there 😮 that movie didn't start selling good until it had been out for a few weeks already. I didn't even go to see this movie, i just wanted to go to the movies and picked one at random
@@treeofrage7622 I can't remember when we went but it was crowded. The only movie I remember exactly when I saw it was the first Scream movie. My best friend was pregnant and a week past her due date. She was going stir crazy at home so I basically snuck her out (She lived at home). We got pizza and went to see the new Drew Barrymore movie with movie. It had only been out 2 or 3 days so we knew nothing about it. Well, we were in for a surprise. But it worked. I got a call at 3:30am from my friend telling me she was going to the hospital. I got there an hour later and she already had her baby! 🤦 To this day, she tells people I induced her labor with pepperoni pizza and Scream😂(Sorry this was so long).
So fun story I have about this movie: It's inspired by a non-fiction book that came out in 2008 that followed acapella groups in their day to day and cataloged the drama, relationships, competitions, etc that came of it (the movie is exaggerated versions of all of these real events). The main plot of the book is centered around a controversy in the ICCA Championship in 2005, where Oregon University group Divisi had an all female group sing R&B song "Yeah" by Usher. Much like is portrayed in the film, this was a complete tradition break and the audience loved it. They were scored the highest by every judge but one, who unfortunately gave them 0s, they allegedly just didn't like that the all female group was straying from the norm and singing R&B. So they came in 2nd. While a cool story on its own, I have a personal connection to it as my aunt was the lead vocalist of that group, during that performance. So in a very loose way Beca's character is based off of my aunt 😂
The more I watch you guys, the more The Oak seems to me like a big gentle bear, ready to throw his assumptions away and be amazed by movies he would have never considered in the first place. Thanks for doing what you do guys, keep it coming.
i love his reactions so much. watching him visibly grow to love a film or a series is so touching. and i love how protective he is towards kids in the films. it's just really touching watching him react to things a little outside what may be his usual norm, and come into it with such an open mind and heart.
Fun Fact!! Cynthia Rose who sings S&M by Rihanna during the riff off is played by Ester Dean, who has written songs for many artists including: Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and Usher!!
I could not click on this reaction fast enough! This is easily one of my top 3 reaction channels mainly because you guys are not scared to watch a variety of movies, even the unexpected. I had so much fun watching this reaction for 3 reasons: 1) the laughter this movie brought to all 3 of you. 2) The Oak singing along and referencing songs as nostalgic to his life events and 3) The look of dismay from Oak to Mason when Mason did not know a song or when he’d reference it as from The Hangover or The Office. Oak is reliving his Junior Prom and Mason is like, oh yeah, The Hangover. I laughed so hard, I was snorting! Oak singing during the riff off and especially No Diggity was reaction Gold! Love you guys!
You guys missed the fact that Jesse said the manager didn't know "Becky" like he did because the dude was still calling her Becky instead of Becca. He didn't care to get to know her enough to even know her name.
The first PITCH PERFECT has one of the most predictable cliché plots in cinema history, one we've seen a gazillion times, and yet they do it so well. The charactes are fresh, especially the two commentators are just absolutely hilarious, the humor is surprisingly crude and sexual ... I just wish there was more music in these movies. I hope you're gonna watch the other two, and yes, I would also be down for SISTER ACT. It's a classic for a reason.
Yes!!!!!!! This franchise is awesome!!! Just remember don’t take it too seriously, and realize that it really just tries to poke fun at itself 😂 This one is my favorite, but the other 2 are still worth a watch for sure 👍
😂😂😂 generation gap: "what does she need the cup for?" 😂😂😂 the whole world knows the cup song. I loved watching you guys this one. Can't wait for pitch perfect 2 and 3
Brittany Snow as Chloe is the heart and soul of this series. She does something deceptively difficult in that she's a very broad, silly character that she still manages to play with absolute sincerity.
My friend and I were so obsessed with this movie, and its sequels, that we skipped out early on our prom to go see Pitch Perfect 3 during the opening weekend. Hahaha Love the reaction, guys! Glad you enjoyed this one!
Please, more MUSICAL content on this channel!!! I know you have Hamilton on the way, and I'm sure you guys will do "A Very Potter Sequel," but seeing you guys react to more musicals on this channel would be SO AMAZING!!
I took my high school daughters to see this in the theatre not knowing anything much about it, I think I enjoyed it more than them..such a trip down memory lane musically. The comedic elements worked so well. Glad to see you guys enjoyed this one.
Love that you guys loved this! I did see this in the theatre and made my mom go. She was not expecting to like it and it was so much fun and so funny that we both came out loving it and listened to the soundtrack on the way home. We were definitely vibing to all the songs in the theatre.
I can't wait until you guys watch the second one! As a fellow Wisconsinite, the next one has a very fun suprise in it for you that you will not expect!
Back in the day, my athlete cousins went the theater to watch a baseball movie. They didn't remember the name of it, so they used their context clues and chose the movie that sounded the most baseball like. They were very unprepared for America's favorite baseball movie, Pitch Perfect 😂
I'm so stoked y'all are finally getting into the Pitch Perfect Era. I saw the movies in theaters and it was a blast each and every time. Can't wait to see the reactions for 2 & 3. Y'all are awesome 💙
Loved watching Oak recognizing and enjoying the music!! Also he just won me over for being respectful to Rebel about the name they gave her in the film. ❤
I didn't think I would enjoy this react to much but once again was a great time! Also you could almost see Oak re-living his past with some of the older songs. Loved it and keep it up guys!
If you liked this you'll probably like Easy A too which gives me the same type of vibes as this movie. They're very different movies with very different concepts but I just think you guys would enjoy it a lot too!
I saw this twice in theatres when I was 13. The second time I was with my older sister and it was one of the last showings of its run, so we were the only 2 in the theatre. We sang along the entire time and it was so fun!
Fun Fact: Cups was an old vid on youtube in 2009 from 2 unknown girls, and when Anna Kendrick did it, it became a huge worldwide hit, she has a music video for it.
Jesse's roommate (the magician) is played by Ben Platt who is a phenomenal singer. He originated the role of Evan Hansen in the musical Dear Evan Hansen (also a movie as well and he again played Evan Hansen in the movie).
I was a senior in high school when this came out and I saw it in theaters before it was released with a small group of friends and it was amazing! I then went to LSU which is the school where these movies were filmed. I even know people who were background actors in this movie. Such a classic.
If you haven't seen The Accountant (2016) with Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick and Jk Simmons you have to. It's got a great story with some great action. I very highly recommend.
I don't know if anyone has shared this fun fact yet: Luke, the radio station manager, was played by the actor who played Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter :)
I was lucky enough to go to an early showing of this before it released. There were only maybe 15 of us in the theatre but man was it fun! I was in middle school and went with some friends and we just died laughing within the first 5 minutes. One of my favorites, for sure.
There's an uptick of reactions to Hairspray recently and I love that movie so much I'd love you guys to do it too! Brittany Snow is in it who plays Chloe in this! Plus a packed cast!
18:45 the actress, who plays Cynthia Rolls is actually a very talented songwriter, and she actually wrote Rihanna’s as an app that she performs at the riff off! Her name is Ester Dean
I love Pitch Perfect, more so because this film pointed me to acapella music and finding Pentatonix. They're 3 time Grammy Award winner and best selling acapella group ever. They also won season 3 of an acapella show called the Sing Off. They're even in the 2nd movie as the canadian acapella group singing against the Bellas! 😁 Great reaction.
Ngl my DAD got me into these movies lmao 😂 they are definitely a guilty pleasure and yes I do have the riff off saved onto a UA-cam playlist, as I much watch it at least once a month for a cleanse lol 😂 thanks for watching this and hope y’all enjoy the other two ❤
In case you didn't know, Luke the radio station manager is played by the same actor of Cormac McLaggen; the boy who went with Hermione to the Slughorn's party in the Half Blood Prince! 😂
This movie was a PHENOMENON. I was college age when it came out and everyone I knew (especially all my theatre friends) were talking about it. It still makes me laugh and the HARD work the cast put in behind the scenes just makes this film a masterpiece. Love that you guys loved it! It’ll always be in my top 10 films of all time. I can watch it over and over.
Saw this twice at the theater. I love the “Riff-Off” scene. Wish it was longer. And, I had to download the mashup with Nelly and Bruno Mars songs. This movie was such a fun ride!!!
One of my favourite movies! Not even 20 mins into this reaction and this is my favourite time watching it by far. Your reactions make this a million times better! 😂
thank you for reacting to this movie and i’m so glad you guys enjoyed it! i watched this movie with my friends back in high school and we all loved it, and it’s still fun to watch it today!
i was too young for the first one, but i saw the last one in theatre,, it was amazing, the chills i got at every song on the big screen and getting to see the last scene in a room filled with fans, just amazing
One of my favorite movies soundtracks! Also, at the Riff Off when the Bellas sang ‘No Diggity’ Aubrey wasn’t singing because she didn’t like Beca, it was because she didn’t know the song.
'Pitch Perfect' is one of my favorite re-watches! It's such a fun and funny movie, that holds up surprisingly well 10 years later. The music is fun, the dialogue is snappy as hell, the performances are fantastic all-around, and even the acid humor still lands 95% of the time for me. Everyone in the cast is batting a thousand. I think an entire generation still has a crush on Anna Kendrick, because of this movie. This was Rebel Wilson's breakout role. Adam Devine is hilarious as Bumper. Bittany Snow and Anna Camp are so much fun to watch play off of each other. Even Skylar Astin is competently adorable as a very generic love interest. And John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks as the commentators knock it out of the park every time they show up. As far as their humor goes, it was still pretty out there back in 2012, but that was exactly the point. And I think it works really well, because of how unexpected it is, and that they only show up in small doses. It's not a perfect movie, but it's definitely one of the ones I've seen the most, since it came out. I probably watch it once a year. Looking forward to seeing your reactions to the sequels!
Surprising movie choice but I'm glad you gave it a chance. 😁I went to see this in theaters and remember it being popular and loved because it had a lot of women in an "ensemble" cast and showed how fun / cool acapella groups can be...something I think many people thought was lame or nerdy. And it showed that these movies can make $$$. BTW...the "magician" character (sorry can't recall the character's name)...is Tony and Grammy award winner Ben Platt. So the irony of him being the guy who didn't make the cut and had to "stand-in" for someone is well....funny.
Yes and yes for Sister Act! That's one that I actually like the sequel better than the original. Speaking of sequels, you definitely need to watch Pitch Perfect 2, but no need to bother with 3.
It's hilarious that I can't watch any of the Pitch Perfect movies anymore without seeing John Michael Higgins as Varrick from the legend of Korra. I was wondering if you guys caught on to it. I didn't see it get mentioned.
Since you mentioned other actors popping up in this film and are a fan of that film series, the guy playing the radio station manager was also in the 'Harry Potter' films. He played Cormac McLaggen. If you don't remember the character by name, he was the one that also tried out as Gryffindor Keeper against Ron (Hermione jinxed him at tryouts), he was in the Slug Club, and Hermione went as his date to Slughorn's Christmas party to make Ron jealous.
You guys talking about Benji: "He's got pipes. He can sing." Me: "That's Ben Platt! He's a Tony winner for lead actor in a musical! Of course he can sing!"
I was SO EXCITED when this reaction popped up in my feed, and of course it didn’t disappoint! I’ve loved this movie for years, and I love first time reaction videos so much because “it feels Ike the first time” 😉 watching these movies again! Your reactions had me cracking up constantly, love this vid and love your channel!
I grew up in Maine so when I saw this in theaters home from college I was in a theater I’m 95 percent sure was all Anna Kendrick’s family (she went to my high school). they had tshirts and they were cheering it was very fun
If you guys know, anna kendricks "cup song" in the movie, went viral and every teens and adults tried to do it...also anna even had her own full music video record in youtube that got more millions of views.... since you are interested in anna kendricks acting and movies, she also has other movies, she also had a role together with Ben Affleck in his movie titled The Accountant (2015), she also had a role together with Sam rockwell titled Mr. Right (2015), also another musical movie Into the woods(2014) which she is the female lead...pitch perfect is the reason anna got famous which led her to get movie roles...
This movie always gives me the feels because it was filmed at my college, LSU. I can’t watch it without seeing all the spots on campus and getting flashbacks
I really like that you guys are honest whenever one of you has actually seen the movie before. So many channels out there with people pretending they're waching popular stuff for the first time and fake reacting. It's really refreshing. Keep it up!
I love you guys reactions! I found this channel about a month or so ago, and I have been binging every video since 😂 You guys are becoming my absolute favorite channel on here. Love this video 😊
Love this one! For the record, I'm a really big girl, and the Fat Amy thing doesn't bother me at all. When she says she calls herself that, "so twig b****es like you don't do it begind my back," it cracks me up every time! 😂 Great music, hilarious characters, just a lot of fun. Glad you guys decided to do this one.
My dad is a 50 year old ex marine, super tough mans man kinda guy. I remember going with him to see this in theaters like 3 times because he liked it so much!
This was a lot of fun and the comedy was great! Everyone crushed it. What was your reaction? Did we miss anything?

This is going to be hilarious! This is exactly what I needed on the second day of the year ❤🎉
Loved watching Oak recognizing and enjoying the music!! Also he just won me over for being respectful to Rebel about the name they gave her in the film. ❤
I didn't think I would enjoy this react to much but once again was a great time! Also you could almost see Oak re-living his past with some of the older songs. Loved it and keep it up guys!
I don't care how many times I've seen the ending to this, it always gets me. It really does hold up.
I love this movie so much. It’s basically a classic to me. So excited to see you guys react to it 😂
As far as it being a classic, I think, at this point, it's certainly in the pantheon of great movies about music, for sure.
Not sure if it was pointed out yet, but the actor who played Luke, the station manager, was also Cormac McLaggen and Vigilante.
If you liked this you'll probably like Easy A too which gives me the same type of vibes as this movie. They're very different movies with very different concepts but I just think you guys would enjoy it a lot too!
Yes please react to Easy A! It would be amazing!
I recommended Easy A on their Mean Girls reaction 😂
I’d LOVE if they reacted to Easy A!!
Fun fact: Gail, the female judge is Effie in the hunger games, she named herself after Haymitch Abernathy
I second this recommendation. The Accountant is a very good movie.
I remember them mentioning it in their live stream! Cant remember if some of them have seen it or not
I don't know if anyone has shared this fun fact yet: Luke, the radio station manager, was played by the actor who played Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter :)
I was lucky enough to go to an early showing of this before it released. There were only maybe 15 of us in the theatre but man was it fun! I was in middle school and went with some friends and we just died laughing within the first 5 minutes. One of my favorites, for sure.
There is a difference being boss and being bossy. Y'all made me smile today. Thank you!
OMG I'M HYPED, PLEASE WATCH THE OTHER TWO MOVIES AS WELL❤
There's an uptick of reactions to Hairspray recently and I love that movie so much I'd love you guys to do it too! Brittany Snow is in it who plays Chloe in this! Plus a packed cast!
Fun fact, Luke in the campus radio is Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince :)
18:45 the actress, who plays Cynthia Rolls is actually a very talented songwriter, and she actually wrote Rihanna’s as an app that she performs at the riff off! Her name is Ester Dean
Beca's boss at the radio station was also McLaggen (the kid who liked Hermione in Half-Blood Prince) and Vigilante in Peacemaker!! Fun fact for you 😊
I wondered if they’d recognize him.
The Oak knowing all of the songs and the artists got me 😮.
This was SUCH a pleasure to watch 😂 thank you for the laughs! Ps: absolutely LOVE Sister Act (especially the 2nd one)
The actor who plays bumber didn’t know it was a musical and thought it was a baseball movie 😂his audition story is super funny
Ben platt is such a phenomenal actor and singer he’s in the dear Evan Hansen movie y’all should check it out also I love me some Anna Kendrick ❤
i was too young for the first one, but i saw the last one in theatre,, it was amazing, the chills i got at every song on the big screen and getting to see the last scene in a room filled with fans, just amazing
I saw this in theatres and it instantly became one of my favourite movies. It's so good ❤
One of my favorite movies soundtracks!
Also DEFINITELY now that we know Quinn hasn't seen Sister Act, gotta watch those too. 😊
They did mention it!
This makes me think they'd like bridesmaids
Im throwing “RED, WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE” to the ring!!! I think you will never watch it on your own, so I’ll love your reaction!!!!
You guys talking about Benji: "He's got pipes. He can sing."
Me: "That's Ben Platt!
Your reactions had me cracking up constantly, love this vid and love your channel!
he has a small role in harry potter, but the radio station manager is also Cormac McLaggen!! (creepy guy who took Hermione to the Slug Club)
we better not tell The Oak what a massive cultural phenomenon the Cup song was back when this movie aired oh boy😂 and I can still do itt!🙋🏼♀️😂
I can rewatch this movie over and over and not get tired of it
Loved your reaction to this! Way more fun than I thought it'd be! Can't wait for the other two! 👍😎🔥
„Anna Kendrick from twilight“ hahaha Mason hat me giggling on this
I grew up in Maine so when I saw this in theaters home from college I was in a theater I’m 95 percent sure was all Anna Kendrick’s family (she went to my high school). they had tshirts and they were cheering it was very fun
I love Oak jamming out to all the songs and calling out Mason Quinn for not knowing them. 😂
The Bruno Mars mashup they do in the pool is 🔥
I love these movies especially for the music.
This movie always gives me the feels because it was filmed at my college, LSU. I can’t watch it without seeing all the spots on campus and getting flashbacks
My dad - who’s 52 - loves this movie. But I swear there’s something about middle aged white dudes loving the Pitch Perfect franchise! It’s universal 😂
I really like that you guys are honest whenever one of you has actually seen the movie before. So many channels out there with people pretending they're waching popular stuff for the first time and fake reacting. It's really refreshing. Keep it up!
Something I did not notice first time watching is the announcer Gail (Elizabeth banks) also plays Effie trinket from he Hunger Games.
I love you guys reactions!
I found this channel about a month or so ago, and I have been binging every video since 😂
You guys are becoming my absolute favorite channel on here.
Same.
She goes all dark and mysterious in Mr. Right. That's a fun movie you should watch. Has her and Sam Rockwell. And Blonsky.
My dad is a 50 year old ex marine, super tough mans man kinda guy.
I remember going with him to see this in theaters like 3 times because he liked it so much!
