This episode was really good. The comedy between Lucy and Maximus is fantastic. What was your reaction? What did we miss?

Guys the woman in the water giving birth was pregnant with baby Gulpers (like that one who ate Lucy's boot and the dog owner's head in episode 3 or 4).
The baby Gulpers were eating her while she was alive.
The Ghoul's wife was reffering to getting them into a special vault for management. Every overseer in vault 33 and 32 has been from vault 31 so they might be reffering to she getting them a spot in vault 31 or some other one like it. And yes the gulper does have human fingers as teeth , and it was displayed as a specimen at level 12. So one could think that the gulper is actually a creature created in this vault. The woman giving birth to the gulpers was on the movie being played. So one could theorize that this vault is splicing and mixing DNA, creating abominations and letting them go to the surface. Maybe to further make it more inhospitable at the surface so more "test subjects" end up in their vault seeking refuge.
"The Good Vaults". Consider: BEFORE the war, VaultTec built a Vault with a trap in a hospital that knocks people out and puts them in a room labelled Test Subjects. They already knew how they planned to get test subjects after the war.

Lucy going after her father is the main quest. Like every player of Fallout she's getting distracted by the side quests.
Wait what? There is a main quest in these games? Oh dang I knew I forgot something over all those settlements marked on my map.😆
@@hanham963I’m playing right now and I’m right before taking over the castle but Preston still wants me to make minute men cool by sending me to the corners of the map -___-
@@SptmbrsVryOwn welcome to the club. I'll mark it on your map. 😌 I remember on comenter writing that there are many terrible results to nuclear war. Supermutants, giant mutated roaches, Preston Garvey...
Three weeks into fallout 4 and idgaf about shaun
I've been playing Fallout 4 for years...still haven't finished the game. 🤣 I just keep working on the settlements.
Maximus was raised in a world with low to non education. The brotherhood raised him and gave him only specific knowledge, and not all they really know.
Lucy had a good education, specialized in specific Vault Tec Ideas. She knew nothing about how the world works outside her vault.
The Gouhl had a "normal" education ... and 200 years to adapt and survive.
These different views mixed are briliant.
I'd say Maximus is a strength, endurance, luck build around level 20.
Lucy is a charisma, agility, something build around level 20.
The Ghoul is a maxed out full perk vats build of some sort.
Lucy's brother is intelligence, stealth, small frame.
I like that summary of each character's education. Well stated❤
@@blairhaffly1777 When it comes to Fallout 1 and 2 traits, I bet ghoul has the Fast Shot too. No need to aim to specific parts, everywhere is a critical hit with the Sniper perk and high Luck stat.
Nope, Oak.
Moldaver is not Lucy's mom.
Remember in the first episode, Moldaver looked at Lucy and said: "you look like your mom!"
Plus, her dad would have reacted differently, too...
You guys wouldn't know because you haven't played the games, but the music that plays when Lucy looks at the NCR flag is actually the Fallout theme from the games! Got instant chills the first time I watched it 💙
I was surprised how much that moment affected me - seeing the NCR flag & hearing the music I went and started a new playthrough.
Game singular, specifically Fallout 4's
I get chills every time it’s so damn good.
Same here
Dave “why isn’t this guy a villain in movies” forgets about Ant Man and the Wasp and the best of all DJANGO UNCHAINED where Walton Goggins is a fantastic villain that you just hate
Django was the first movie I saw him in
He's the type of actor that you're so familiar with but cant recall what you've seen them in.
At least thats how i felt when i saw him in Antman and the wasp.
Try fatman with Mel Gibson, not a good film but goggins plays an interesting character.
He was the villain in _Tomb Raider_ w/ Alicia Vikander as well
Most people forgot about Ant Man and the Wasp. I saw it in theatres in a perfectly awake and sober state of mind and I couldn't tell you a damn thing about it
Holy cow I just noticed for the first time that the President of the Govermint was named Sorrell Booker; this must certainly be a reference to actor Sorrel Booke, who is best known for having played Boss Hogg on The Dukes of Hazzard.
Oohh... I totally dig that reference❤!!!
She doesn’t mean they’re cheap when she says “one of the good vaults”…
If only it DID mean they were cheap. I’d prefer it over what the vaults actually are
Let’s not spoil stuff, let them learn more as the show goes on. Theorizing and speculating is part of the fun of watching something for the first time
@@kjlucky6501It's not a spoiler. We literally saw what a "bad vault" is in _this exact episode._ You people are so annoying.
@@sayyidassons9332 Wow, you’re a feisty little guy, aren’t you? It’s okay, Buddy, you don’t have to let strangers on the Internet make you so upset:)
@@sayyidassons9332 We don't though. Yes, we visit a vault that is a "bad vault". But it isn't explained in this episode. The end of this episode just makes it seem like the current inhabitants of the vault (which include a lot of surface dwellers) are doing tests on people. It's not until next episode that its revealed that the vault is screwed up not because of the current people, but because of how it was originally designed.
Anyone who has played the game knows that Max is maxed out with the Idiot Savant Perk.
The face that Diamond Dave was making during the whole conversation about sex with Max and Lucy was honestly hilarious 😂 like "wait a sec...something is not tracking with this" 😂
What Coop's wife meant by "good" vaults was something else, not that others were cheap :)
The super soldiers one is the most terrifying to me.
@@lilunette9319 The worst one was Vault 75 where they separated children from their parents, experimented on children, tortured them and killed them when they reached 17.
🤫
@@lilunette9319 They would just shout "language" at you all day.

All vaults are constructed to be safe from the nuclear fallout, that’s not what she meant by “good vaults”.
IM BARTHOLOMEW CODSWORTH... REGULAR HUMAN ACTOR
COOOOODSWOOOOOOOOORTH!!!
From Tucson, Arizonia
First saw Walton Goggins as a bad guy/victim in "American Ultra" and he was amazing.
The "Govermint" scene at 20:07 was a not so subtle nod to the old Dukes of Hazzard TV show. The president looked and acted like Boss Hogg from that show, and the character's name was Sorrell Booker. Boss Hogg was portrayed by the actor Sorrell Booke.
I love that some ppl caught onto that. I feel like Oak would have realized it if he'd have heard that guys name properly & then put it together cause he feels like the kinda guy to have watched those older shows like that
"Three feet of lead", but it sounds like the hood of a car when he knocks on it ...
Man that moment with the flag and the music, 10/10
I got chills when the Fallout theme plays
The poster when cooper walks down the stairs, all the dogs in fallout as well as the show opening with “The End”, are all nods to the book a boy and his dog at the end of the world, a big inspiration for the creation of the original fallout game. I started reading it last week, very good so far.
Everytime: Call the doctor, but he never comes...
If no one calls, why would he show up
Eat an apple everyday, and you wont need him. 😉💀
That's their old wrestling tag line from Quinn & DD pro team days & hence their tag team name Badd Medicine which then they just went ahead & used for their yt reaction channel if ur not aware of where that came from❤💞❤️
Ella Purnell. Lucy is the voice actress of Jinx in Arcane. She is such a likable actress.
The first poster you see is a reference to “a boy and his dog” which is one of the original inspiration for fallout!
LOL You missed a BIG give away! At the beginning of the episode, the advertisement was taking place in Vault 4 - the vault occupied with scientists doing research on the effects of radiation on the human body and DNA. Remember what vault Lucy and Maximus found??? The other thing is when Lucy walked into the classroom and saw the timeline of Shady Sands. The timeline does NOT match up with the timeline she is familiar with regarding the apocalypse. So the 'apocalypse' Shady Sands and Maximus experienced is DIFFERENT than the one that occured 200+ years ago that ended the world that we know of, the one the Ghoul endured.
You should check what we do in the shadows it has Matt Berry who is a gem as you been able to see in this episode, its a fake documentary and my fav show
i just started it's amazing
I loved him since The IT Crowd 😆 he hilarious
What We Do in the Shadows is peak entertainment
It’s hilarious they named him Bud Askins (Butt @$$kiss) 😂😂😂
Ever since April, I have had a strong and irrational urge to attend a genuine Ice-Cream social.
I watched this on the plane last night. I traveled from Portugal to Canada. And your reaction is amazing!
When Lucy touched the flag and the FALLOUT 4 music played i got chills.
Remember what the guy said they are doing in vault 4 - a community run by scientists exploring radiation effects on a human.
Walton Goggins played the villain in the movie, Tomb Raider.
Just to play devil's advocate, global lead production is ~4,500,000 tons per year. Even for 30+ vaults, a shortage of lead seems unlikely (if we assume similar mining capacity in the Fallout world before the war vs IRL production). That's enough lead per year to cover 4.5 million sqft 3 feet thick. Obviously there's a lot of usage of lead beyond making vaults but Vault Tec is huge and has money, I'm sure over many years they can secure a big fraction to use in their vaults if they want.
Loving the reaction and discussion!
Fun fact! Cooper Howard A.K.A Walton Goggins actually played one of the henchman of Mr Candy in Django Unchained.
People who have played the games know what she means by "One of the good vaults." You'll find out what she means when Cooper finds out. ;)
The look on Barb's face when Coop hugged her from behind was really telling.
2:18 I called the phone number immediately 😂

Fyi, it's coming ..they just recently announced on their gaming channel they are gonna play Fallout New Vegas soon if u hadn't heard about this already.❤
@@jenloveshorror yay, thanks!!
The "babies" looked like axolotl. Like they were babies of the Gulpers. Hence the Gulper that was in the one tank.
Walton goggins makes me crush so hard on the ghoul. Hes such a beautiful man 😍
Keep up the great work guys! Gotta show sum support for one of my favorite channels on UA-cam 👏
To answer Diamond Dave’s question Walton Goggins plays a bad guy in the movie Django 🤘🏿
Did he kill more people than the "good guy"?
I cannot wait for you guys to finish this series! Such a great adaptation and once again Walton "Ghoulgins" killed it!
The scene between Cooper and Charlie in the bar is my personal favorite scene in the whole show. It's a single conversation, and yet it's so enthralling and perfectly encapsulates exactly how dangerous Vault-Tec really was and how involved they were with the war. There's even something a little meta about that scene. Given the state of our world right now, Charlie's metaphor of the cattle ranchers being in charge feels all too real.
It’s crazy rewatching this knowing how much they manage to cram in to the last 2 episodes.
Imo every episode outdoes the previous episode all the way from 1-8. Can’t wait to see your reactions to the next 2.
the poster of 'A Man and His Dog' was a nice tribute to 1976 'A Boy and His Dog', where it all began. Check it out
According to Ella Purnell, who plays “Lucy” there are 122 vaults total.
The super soldiers one is the most terrifying to me.
that's fallout lore
I also called the number!!! My friend teased me for it and told me not to- but I told him to shut up and I called it anyhow. Super fun. I remember when Saw 3 or 4 came out you could go to their website and have them put your name in a Jigsaw voicemail. I love that kinda real world applying stuff. Even something as simple as the Pottermore website had fun little Easter eggs and things to discover at one point!
Wilzig to Lucy: " But will you still want the same things, once you have become a different animal altogether?" She is changing. yes. Most all will be revealed leaving some for season 2. Love this show and your analysis. Great job guys, even if you occasionally guess wrong!
Love you guy's videos, y'all seem like great people 👍
I just realised that both Daves were wearing the same style cap in the same manner whilst seated next to one another in this video. That is all. 😁
I'm so excited to watch the crap out of this video! Been looking forward to it the whole week long.
"at least when we know theres 33"
someone tell them that theres over 100 of these vaults hahahah
God I love this episode. One of you says "What is this tradition?", and the scene switches to a business card for a funeral home :)
Keep it up gs, great series, great review 🏆
Just as was thinking "where does the caviar come from?" answer said it as well, I wonder if that caviar tastes better than the regular one lol
Edit: I just don't understand how you guys can forget that moldaver is the woman that took Lucy's dad, and when she said that Lucy looks like her mom, not that she's her mom dammit 😂
It's not about their cheapness when talking about the vaults. As you've seen, Lucy's vault has some weird things going on and this vault they are at also has something freaky that they are implying is going on behind the scenes 🧐
I notice the similarity with homelanders "You are the real heroes here" in the ad in the beginning :)
Same producers of Fallout and "The boys".
Yes Diamond Dave there Gulpers Vault 4 Had Created Them by birth
For a good villain film, Goggins was the highlight by far in American Ultra. Damn right scary.
Oh and What we do in the shadows series......then youll understand the cameo in this one! "TUSCON ARIZONA"!!
I completely forgot he was in that, saw it in theaters and haven't seen it since lol
Regular human bartender
@@kingjellybean9795It’s in the TV show, not the movie. If you liked the movie, it’s great!
the mystery of the vaults is really prevalent in the games with really cool mini stories. so I'm so glad it's such a big part in this show, I know you guys will love the games and the last 2 eps
@11:41 - the fact that you guys weren't immediately laughing about that actor lets us know you need to add Reservation Dogs to you TV list.
This is so funny! Love the reactions.
My guess is that the pregnant woman gave birth to baby gulpers...hence all the eerily human features in that monster. So it makes the one we see in episode 3 even freakier.
Lucy Goosey!
Answer: ...so I'm willing ready and able to see what THIS Vault entails.
Me: oh ARE you. Well, buckle up, Buttercup.
7:48 Answer is hilarious 😂 😂😂
Btw guys, Ella Purnell (who plays Lucy here) also voiced Jinx in Arcane. It's kinda funny how, between Fallout and Hawkeye, you're having a little Arcane reunion going on on the channel, lol!
Some great funny twists in this one
They were baby gulpers
I think it’s interesting that the Overseer calls Lucy “Goosey” a bird.
“Birdie” is probably also a nickname... I wonder what her real name is? And I wonder why he always chooses avian nicknames..? 🤔
*they ARE both surfies
You guys inspired me to try making youtube content! Granted I have no friends to watch with. I uploaded my first episodes of Fallout also! It's such a great series so far! Thanks for the uploads as always and the inspiration!
Caviar is the uncured eggs of sturgeon. Not the sturgeon itself.
great episode!
Guys don't apologize for making guesses at what you think is going to happen. It's why we watch. To see how YOU guys experience it. Keep up the good work guys!
I just want season 2 already, this was such a good show!
By all means, do call the number!!! Seriously, do it!!😂
if somebody gets covered in a flower dress...that made me laugh more than I expected
Please no spoilers guys!! Let them figure stuff out on their own as they watch the show, that’s the fun of reacting:)
The Ghoul gave that guy a second ass hole🤣🙏 what a shot
On the topic of why Cooper's wife talks about going into the Vaults as a certain thing,
Something the show doesn't have a lot of time to get into regarding the pre-war era that Cooper Howard/The Ghoul comes from is that before the bombs dropped the world was going through intense periods of resource shortages and wars over those resources. The world had been locked in a rather grim state even before the start of The Great War that we see in episode one. By that point the only big powers left are USA and China and they are still actively fighting to secure resources so at that point a lot of people likely see things as a when and not if. Compare it to our real world cold war and how many people were convinced someone would start WW3 any day for decades.
"Cheap vaults." Nah. That's not what she meant. Here's where knowledge from the games comes in handy. When she says "good" vaults she means.... well... let's not spoil the surprise. All you need to know is that the vaults aren't what you think they are. ;-)
Fusion cores in the Fallout universe are like standard batteries. They create ridiculous amounts of power and are all a standard size. Can be swapped between devices without issues.
When Lucy enters the schoolroom and she sees the NCR flag, the music that plays in the background is the Fallout game theme song. Was such a joy hearing it on the show.
With the Moldaver reveal I kinda wonder why you guys didn't react to the fact that she's still alive considering it's been over 200 years since the bombs dropped. Something to think about, and it ties into one of the mysteries of the season. **
It's only natural you guys believe they're doing genetic experiments in Vault 4. That's not it, though. Again, no spoilers, but the vaults aren't what you think they are. Once you understand their true purpose you'll see that a lot of concepts you might've had will be thrown out the window. And no, it has nothing to do with the amount of lead. In terms of Vault 4 let me just give you a hint. Why would a vault need a trap door to bring people from the surface down to them? Doesn't that seem odd? ;-)
** Ah, I see Answer brought it up. Yes, Moldaver is still alive despite she being from before the bombs. She's not a ghoul, so there's another story there.
My jaw just dropped....i had no idea until now that moldaver was alive before the bombs🤯🤯🤯.... I completely missed it... they mightve missed it too
Edit: Omg!!!!! Is moldaver the one who told Cooper that his wife/vault tec might not be what they seem and told him to spy on his wife?
Further edit: MR HOUSE, before he is a computer, is in the meeting where they discuss dropping the bombs🤯🤯
I thought i caught the majority of the reference but it seems ive missed some big things😅
Correction: Maximus at one time was more comforable than in the BOS; Shady Sands had a large enough population, and it was the seat of a government, so it was probably pretty secure, and was seemingly a thriving community. He was probably too young to remember it, though.
i love how mild your ideas are of what are 'bad vaults' lol You guys aint dark enough to even imagine! I promise it does all come together with answers for you Mason!
Did not have Diamond Dave saying the word "taint" on my bingo card for this episode lmao
Yall realize Moldaver is the lady who kidnapped Lucy's dad right?
They 2atch so many shows and play games that they forget the story lines... they should binge watch like me. 😂 if there's a season 2 dropping layer, I have to rewatch season 1 and then binge season 2. It is the only way I can keep up with the stories
@CuddleCakez or you don't react to 1000 diff shows as a job which means you have no clue what it is like and maybe it is harder than you think. Idgaf if they don't remember cause the duh moment when they do is objectively better
The screaming is Slim Pickens as he rides the Nuke in Dr. Strangelove.
Walton Goggins is the villain in a few movies tbh and he does a phenomenal job at that as well lol
Walton Goggins. Want a villian? Watch American Ultra! He's nuts in that! Plays a pyromaniac called Laugher. Amazing job he did!
And if you want a breakdown of the movie, think clumsy Jason Bourne lol
"They gave me a robe. And slippers."
For some reason this line makes me think about the travesty that Fallout 76's launch was.
There's a good video on it by *Internet Historian* called "The Fall of 76" if you guys are interested!
A lot of questionable market business gone over in that video, kinda like our very own Vault-Tec in flesh!
4:20 if these guys like that the mansion is like that in this show, then, if they haven't, they should check out 'The Brothers Sun'. Brilliant and brutal comedy/action series.
That "Pillowing" Conversation between Lucy & Maximus came out of nowhere 😆 & "Gucy" has gotta be her nickname from now on! & new drinking game, take a shot anytime someone says "Cult" 🥃 & welp this story just got a whole lot darker with way the episode ended! 😯
I fully get the attitude towards there being only two episodes left. But you better strap in, boys. Because there are only two episodes left, and a lot to get done!!!
Welcome everyday of every vault in the world!
btw for the number if u text it you'll get a easter egg aswell
Also the things that came out of the pregnant woman was more of the Axolotl aka Gulpers
The best episode of the season imo.
11:13 "One of the good Vaults". People who don't know: 🙂, People who know: 😱
Another great episode these can't come out fast enough
Caviar comes from the virgin sturgeon
Virgin sturgeon, very fine fish
Virgin sturgeon needs no urgin'
That's why caviar's a very rare dish.
Shame none of you were familiar with Matt Berry, he's a real talent
Walton plays a few villians, one that I admittedly think of is the one slave owner in django. He doesnt have alot of dialogue but his few lines makes him a hatable and likable villian
