      Beautiful talk! There’s so much misinformation and judgment around food and conscious eating that we get lost (sometimes) living a life following unrealistic standards and practices, that we lose that deep connection with our bodies and souls. Eat in a way that resonates with the most wholesome self: it’s a journey, never a destination. Thank so very much for this❤to you both❤and I LOVE the title of your book!!’

    I have IBS-C, and I am not a fan of daily meds. :( I’m now taking magnesium to try find relief. Also, I’m a single parent household, and go to school part time. I find after getting done with school, and picking my kids up, I’m depleted exactly when I need to be making a healthy meal. This leads me to make convenience foods. Plus, my toddler picks at meat, eats a lot of fruit, and says she doesn’t like veggies (I still serve them with every meal). I love the helpful information in all of your episodes and I ADORE Radhi. I’m expressing some of my challenges and I’m hoping I can explore with curiosity some solutions to serve healthy meals after long days. Take care, and love you all!

    The fasting discussion is SO on point! I’ve done extended fasts/one meal per day for a while now, a few times a week, and learning the difference between “I am hungry in the morning” and “well if I don’t eat now, I’ll be too busy later” is game changing. It was so empowering for me to realize-the hard way, by making myself wait until I felt hunger, not the psychological panic of anticipated hunger-that I don’t get hungry until 11am. And if I don’t eat at 11am, the hunger will go away and reappear around 2-3pm. Just having this information has made a huge difference in how I plan my day.
    This isn’t for everybody-like Jay, my wife can’t go long periods of time without eating or she will start to suffer physically, and get hangry. But I was proud of her for taking the time to figure that out for herself. The fear of “what if I get hungry later even if I’m not hungry now, better eat now just in case” is pervasive and it dictates so much of our eating pattern.

    This is the best video I've seen on mindful eating. She explained very well how diet affects the body and mind. We can prevent many diseases through a healthy diet and mindful eating habits. As she explained, I prefer the simple and authentic lifestyle we should embrace rather than what others perceive us to be. Breathe before eating, add rainbow colors to food, listen to your own body type, these things are amazing. I'm glad I watched this. Thank you so much.❤🙏🏻

    Wow I love this perspective. A healthy diet is so undervalued in American culture, we eat for pleasure instead of life, consciousness and to nourish the body. It’s so much bigger than diet, that is minimized it’s our mental health and how we show up in the world.

    • @capslapsmac
      @capslapsmac 2 місяці тому

      And America profits off that tremendously. You should look up the history of agriculture in this country. It’s interesting and terrifying to see how after world war 2, agriculture and the access to fresh food was changed forever. And not in a good way. I would love to see an episode on that. I’m so excited to see these new generations of doctors and dietitians, ect. sharing this information and focusing on preventive health rather then treating disease (which is what our healthcare system currently operates on)

    This episode really affirmed the things I’ve been thinking. When I read Jay Shetty’s “Think Like a Monk” , a quote stood out to me so intensely! It was “chew your drink and swallow your food” . It may sound childish but I sing the ABCs when I eat because it’s the perfect time (30-40 chews)for food to properly be chewed && I been wanting to try to eat in silence, w/o distractions so I can actually be conscious of what I’m taking in and how I feel.
    I’ve been re-learning food/nutrition after my 1st child and love this convo !

    Love her! Loved this interview! Eating to feel good from inside out has been my goal for the past year and I've felt the results but , of course, there are also moments of struggle and cravings which I need help with. I feel SO inspired by everything she said and the book is on the way!!! Can't wait to try her recipes!!! Thank you, Jay and Radhi!

    I have personally learnt from Columbian medicine that Food is an Illusion. Food is both an Amplified communication with your body & a systematic way of destruction of desire. I believe Rahdi is firmly rooted in the latter because she has a seeming expertise on crops (leaves). This is a wonderful opportunity for others to learn that food can be both exemplary, extensive & explosive. Thanks again ❤
