- Casper is an action-adventure game based on the 1995 film of the same name. Two different games were released in 1996 and 1997 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, by different publishers, in different regions. A third game was released for the 3DO (the final release for that system), Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and Game Boy Color, published by Interplay Productions. There was also a Game Boy game and a PlayStation sequel, Casper: Friends Around the World. There was going to be a 32X version of the game but it was later cancelled for unknown reasons.

I teared up a little bit watching this, i remember my mom would always yell for me to come downstairs to eat while i was playing this game. She died last year ....i still wish to hear her sweet voice calling me to dinner. Love you mama!
Im sorry for your lost 😢
Sorry to hear that buddy. I'm glad the game has given you fond memories. ❤️
❤
❤❤❤
Dang, I'm sorry for your loss.
A strong memory from my childhood. 'I CAN'T DO THAT'
Hahhahaha I still hear Casper's voice xD
I've only watched 1 second of this video, haven't heard the line in probably decades, and I just heard it inside of my head.
Same y'all. Same.
For me it was the "hang on" loading screen
I cant i cant i cant do that 😂
I loved this game as a kid. I always got stuck and couldn't beat it lol
I had the same issue, damn was it a time when an internet search was the solution I couldn't use.
Ah Man, the perfect tactic was to draw a map of the house as you were playing along. Use coloured coded lines to show which air vents led to where. You could spend hours going around in circles with this game if not careful
Same lol
@@ryanmccallum4309 I think I tried to draw maps before but as a kid even that was hard 😂
i was absolutely terrified of it back in the day lol
Bruh I never made it past the beginning of this game when I was a kid. I never knew how it ended. It’s crazy that I just had a random thought about this game in my head, typed it in UA-cam, and a full play through pops up.
Exact same here 😂 could never get to the labyrinth
Lol same. Gex and alien resurrection too
You didn't have cheats?
@@maJastoL hell no, I thought cheats were when you paid someone from a special company to come to your house and beat a level for you
@@melocomanTV Nah in those days it was just pause the game and input a sequence of buttons
This game is by far the most hardest one in my entire gaming life
The music 🥲.. gotta be one of the most underated sleeper gems in gaming history, amazing and beautiful game for everyone ❤️
ah this game is like the forgotten memory from your childhood
50% of the game consists of the loading screen and the endless lag when morphing into a ball
lol
This game scared me as a kid.
It was definitely creepy especially when the uncle's appeared.
@@GameOnMetalOn Same thing happen to me when i was little
TRUE! @@GameOnMetalOn
@@GameOnMetalOn Yup. Can confirm, especially the first time I played this back in the 90s as a kid.
Fatso and Stinky scared the crap out of me for the first time until years later.
@@GameOnMetalOn "Casper! Where are you!?! Come out, come out, wherever you are!!!"
This game was a pain in the ass to beat.
I never even beat it. Hard game.
I must have had this game for at least 3-4 years. I got it with my first Playstation back in '98. It really kills me inside to know I only made it 20 mins into the game 😭
Sameee! hahaha
As a kid I only ever got 9 minutes in the game and all ways got confused and lost 😂wow this is crazy sein this for the first time I'm 27 now
Was obsessed with this movie as a kid, had a huge crush on Christina Ricci lol.. Younger people will never know what a big deal this movie was when it came out.. toys, promotions ( I remember Pizza Hut), commercials... good times
i wish i was alive when it was
Good times indeed.
So want a remastered version to come out on ps4
I used to play this game when I was about 10 years old. I played it at night and found it fun but super spooky. Never did finish it... So I'm glad to see this playthrough!
What a nice game! I loved to watch Casper show when I was a child. He is soooo adorable!
This brought up a memory so old I don't really remember it, I just know that it exists in my brain. I have no recollection of playing this game but after watching this video I KNOW I did. Does that make sense or am I crazy?
That's how the brain works
That's why i came to this video, was sitting thinking about nothing and a casper thought came into my head, then wait i think i played a casper game once, no no i saw the movie, did i do both?
i discovered in the end i did play this, i just don't remember it till i saw the vid lol
Same here
Exactly how I feel
I'm not sure I've ever even HEARD of this game until now!
Whaaaat! Madness! This game is the 💣!!!!
So much nostalgia! Loved this game growing up!
Ah Man, the perfect tactic was to draw a map of the house as you were going along. Use coloured coded lines to show which air vents led to where. You could spend hours going around in circles with this game if not carefu. Still my favourite game of all time
did u ever make a map?
@@sophiexo8570 yes I did. It took a while though. In the end I had to colour code and number the vents on a chart to avoid confusion and double venting. After I had beaten stretch in the graveyard I was board of getting lost so started the map. I started from the centre of Whipstaff and went from left to right. I had a second peice of paper which mapped the upstairs and stopped me getting confused. Would be amazing to see someone make the map with lego or something.
I also recently released a remake! Check out "Casper Re-imagined" on UA-cam or go to Retro Active Games on Facebook for game footage and download links! Its free to play and has 70 new rooms full of puzzles and tons of secrets!
@@thecawdfather87Nice
I love this kind of stuff. It reminds me of a time when the world was simpler, without social media, smart phones, and over used CG in movies.
This reminds me of a time when all you wanted as a kid was something made of plastic and cardboard, a time when your imagination was all you needed to have fun! This game doesn't look like a blockbuster hit title but the kind of game you'd start playing in the fall at around nine O'clock on a weekend eating snacks drinking soda and just moving your thumbs while all full of exciting thought on having just come back from seeing the Casper film and wanting something more from it such as this game.
It's like the kind of game that always makes you feel like a kid. It's dated sure, but that's just the magic of it, it makes you feel like you're back in 1995 again just listening to the campy music and enjoying some simple environmental layouts. It opens the mind and makes you think of costumes and trick or treat. It makes you feel a joy that just can't be described. It's the kind of game you could just play until midnight not knowing how much time you spent playing it on account that you got lost in its world.
It's games like this that make one miss the past and bring one back at the same time.
I just love it!
What a nostalgic game, replayed it last year. I have no idea how I beat it as a kid and not knowing english but my grandma helped me and we beat it after like one year back and forth playing it, she passed away in 2022 but this game and many others will always hold my memories with her. Love this game btw, the perfume boss and the bathtub gave us such a headache!!!!
I ever when I was a kid I was watched this movie, it was so great movie, now this game is so amazing.
Omg, my nostalgia! 😭 I haven't seen this in forever & completely forgot about it. I was reading something & saw the word "Lazarus" & this popped in my head.
yall love to say that word these days lol....nostalgia
Amazing stuff. Incredible efficiency. Thanks so much for putting this together.
Dude.. brings back so mamy memories!
Thank you so much for uploading this! Loved this game as a child!
same *sadface*
As a kid i always loved the puzzles. But I would get to the maze, the ghost would scare me, I'd stop playing. Never completed the game itself and would always get nightmares of that one dang ghost. But I'd always pick the game up again a few months later. The song, "I can't do that" and the smoke morph are permanently etched in my mind.
As well as this being such an epic game back in the day. The music is perfect and I can still sit here and hum along in time 😌 ahhh
I've just remembered I used to play this game with my mom and my sis. We never got to beat it, the puzzles were really hard 😅. Thank you for uploading this playthrough !!
I loved this game! Wish I had it again!
You could play it by emulador on your phone
Man what memories. My mom got this for me when I was a little kid, was my first PSX game, so naturally I had no idea what I was doing. Ended up getting Crash 2 a bit later, and that was a lot easier for me lol, but this game brings back nostalgia.
I played this so much but couldn't find a certain item and finally gave up. Great game. 20-25 years older and still miss it.
Joga no celular emulador kkkkk
Ahhh the music, I miss my childhood
someone hummed something that sounded similar to this game and it unlocked a memory i’ve forgotten so i youtube it. thanks for this 😇
Crazy how a brain works right?
Takes me right back to been a kid I use to love this game 😀
CLASSIC. Bout to play this right now.
There is a remake out for free as well! All new rooms, puzzles, secrets, layouts, etc! Look up "Casper PS1 remake" or "Casper Reimagined" on UA-cam, links to it are in the video descriptions! It's a lot of fun!
I beat this game without looking up how... but I forgot two secret rooms and two ``morphs`` ... If anyone played this game with 100% on its own ... thats incredible!
I just saw a picture of this game, and was like "no way!". Kinda makes me wish I had this back then, I loved Casper!
It's an ok adventure game. The problem is the mansion is huge, most of locations look the same and there's no map in the game. A tip in the garden shed says that you can draw a map yourself... The graphics and sound are just fine, but they could use clips from the movie instead of static artworks since it's a licensed game. Casper is kinda nostalgic for me because I've seen the movie in the cinema back in 1995 (I was 9 years old) and about few years later played the game on PS1, but got bored with it after an hour of exploring the mansion.
I know! Like who has time to draw a map of the game 😂 crazy!
@@GameOnMetalOn It would be better if they just make a map in the game where you can at least mark the places you already visited to avoid running in circles. :D
@@mattx5499 Exactly! Fuck this game. I still love Casper though.
I legit played this game for HOURS and NEVER even made it to the part with Kat and Dr. Harvey... It was way too confusing and circular for my tiny 6 year old brain to comprehend, haha!
I have just come across this, I used to love playing this game 😁
Omg I wish I could play this again haha I used to love this game
I never beat this game, I wish I could play it again!
You can on eBay
Whaaaaa
Yeee

Don't envy kids today. Back then, we were treated as humans with brains. These days with some games you have to have your hand held every step of the way. The new Pokemon games for example. And this comment will be timeless because even though the current ones are bad, the future ones will get worse and worse, I guarantee it.
Любимая игра была! На русском он говорил "Не могу не могу", мы с сестрой смеялись и постоянно повторяли за ним
Wish I could go back in time when I had the ps1 and this game
I'm sure 99% of kids who tried playing this game had no fuckin clue what to do
I am not even sure right now how did a 9 year old me passed up to act 2
I went on EBay and got a ps1 and this game like five years ago just because my granny and I used to play it when i was little.
This was one of my favorites as well !!
Does anyone else remember using the cheat so you could fly to a secret room which had every single item and morph in the game? I never completed the game because I would go to that room and the mess around with all the different morphs😂
I remember playing this game in my childhood. I always got stuck at some point and my dad always helped me out until he completed the whole game for me.
But at all, a great memory.
It's crazy to think now this game involves a lot of backtracking. Which is why I never beat it.
This is AVGN material....
The main song that plays in this game randomly popped into my head and I instantly remembered
I use to watch my mum play this game. The memories
This game was so drawn out and complicated! None of my friends completed it! Still good memories though
love it to death, i really miss the days when PS1 was fresh, there were epic games available, this one just stole the show for me. ff7 had its place, but THIS... this with the neighbor kids coming over and just all kinds of fun times -_- we'll never have those days back
My sisters and I were forever renting this game from Blockbuster and could never beat it lol
Damn you gotta try again now
The soundtrack on this game is so good I used to hum it non stop
Kid me was too terrified of this game to ever beat it, eventually kid me broke the disc. ...Randomly popped into my memory and decided to see what kid me was so terrified of. ...Amazing.
Damn I remember playing this game when I was kid but last time I thought of this game I was KID lmao no idea how it poped in my head after so many years
Terimakasih telah menamatkan game ini, masa kecil saya terselamatkan 🙏
Just bought the disc can't wait to play it!
This was a great game from my childhood. I wish I could get to playing it again, but too bad the copy I used to have broke. I really want a new copy of this game one day.

I like the greatest hits from 1997.
Wow I loved that game when I was a child I really miss the times of playing this game when I was 8 years old or something but I guess I never finished it it's great to see the playthrough
Uuh Casper the friendly ghost loved the mobile back in the day i Think i Watch it a 100 times
I still LOVE the graphics and gameplay. N the sountrack is d cutest😊
As a kid, I remember I got this far by finding the "Spring Morph" but never knew where to use it besides bouncing and goof around.
Finding the silver key know where it goes and find that strange jigsaw piece. Never found the frame for it.
Years went by and somehow my brain thought back to this game and I decided to look up on UA-cam for playthroughs.
Finally learned where to find everything and give this game a try. Feels good to finally finish the game after all those years with a leftover red key oddly enough.
Hey, I know it's a long shot right now, but I'm struggling to find the bottom-left jigsaw piece of Casper that unlocks the Spring Morph. I've searched the entire manor numerous times over and can't find it. Do you remember where it is?
Man I remember buying this game on a loose CD for the PlayStation at a thrift shop called The Blue Moon in Whittier Blvd in East LA I live in East LA sadly 😓in 2004 or 5 either one I think five though good times
This game is stupendously hard. I am now 25 and I had to look up a 20-years-old text walkthrough somewhat like 5 times. I remember never finishing it, and I was curious to try it now.
A hidden pipe behind the wine storage in the basement is one thing, but then just absolutely random hidden pipe in the basement maze is NUTS. How many people did actually find it back then? There is absolutely zero clue in the game. Am I supposed to constantly check every bit of map that is hidden behind the walls?
Or was there some kind of piracy protection, like it was said on the game's box there is a pipe?
And I am not talking about the lag everytime the music loads in, and it loads after every room load, transformation or menu/inventory entrance. And, mind you, this is not a hardware problem, as you can speed it up in an emulator. They somehow programmed it so poorly that it lags a solid second everytime. I actually wonder how much of this game is pure loading.
Without the 4x time speedup on emulator this would be a torture in the second half of the game.
This game has many jump scares..but that was fun 😄
Honestly yes! I couldn't make it past the garden area.
Geezus, the "hang on's"
Still love this game and the movies.
Secret memory unblocked 🥹
Same! :D
I loved this game as a kid x now that I look at it , it gives me the creeps lmao
I miss that game 🙂💔
Ich liebe das Spiel ❤ das war meine Kindheit und habe mich offt geärgert das ich nicht weiter gekommen bin 😂 aber würde ich gerne wieder spielen 😊
Did you know?
Strangely, player can refill bucket from leather chair in attic, not only from sink in bathroom.
That was the best ever game. I loved it.
I use to play this game with my mom all the time especially when I would get stuck haven't thought about this game since then about 20 years ago I'd guess
Omg I never got as far as him meeting Kat lol. What a game!
All them loading screens make me remember how much I do not miss my PS1
this brings back memories, i loved Casper. i know a couple secret things. the fountain contains something. also, i still have the playstation magazine with all the cheat codes and i had Caspers. there was two, one i forgot and the other one was a secret room with every item and power you get in the game.
we also have somewhere printed out some cheats for this and other games years ago.
Miss this game 🖤
I WANT MY DINNER, CASPER!! FEEEED MEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Such an iconic line! 🤣 It's what I hear when i think about this game.
@GameOnMetalOn Me too! I remember actually jolting when I first heard it, because it was so sudden. Like, "Whoa, whoa! What the--"
Many memories of growing up
Wow. It took (not including the Sony and ps logo) TWO MINUTES to start the game lol. Wow. Kids nowadays would just turn off the game and say it's boring lmao. We had it rough back then
I loved this game to. When I first played it and I also got stuck. That's what cheat codes are for though.
I would like to see this game made today like how the walking dead game handled dialogue and choices and have multiple endings like if Casper failed Dr Harvey stayed a ghost or Casper used the lazurus on himself letting the player determine how friendly Casper should be
There is a remake out that somewhat tackles this for the last boss fight! Check out "Casper Re-imagined" on UA-cam or just search on YT "Casper PS1 remake". You'll find links to download it in the vid descriptions! It's pretty well made!
I loved this game , don’t remember the “Hang on!” Every 2 seconds tho lol
This is one of those game where if you dont have a guide or whatever you just wonder around until you accidentally figure out whay your supposed to do
No wonder I couldn't collect all the morphing icons, they hid the vents from view in the cellar. I don't feel as bad not being able to collect all the morphing icons now.
And as for the super Casper power, how on earth did you figure out it's purpose was to just move the sofa chair in the attic.
Great video!
