Following on from my Top Ten Weird Bits and Mysteries video, this is the full playthrough of Interplay's Casper (1996), and proof of the leftover red key at the game's conclusion.
Come back soon for more reviews!
Thanks!

HEY EVERYONE! Just thought everyone would like to know, Arthur Michaud has been working on an extension of this game, titled 'Casper: The Haunting 3D Challenge: Reimagined'. I've had access to the game myself and can tell you it's pretty damn good, so if you wanna watch the first playthrough of it, follow the link: ua-cam.com/video/rpLsraRkcbc/v-deo.html
It's true Gasparin was Ricky Ricon I wish Dot, Lotta, Audrey (harvey street kids) be the Daughters of Ash Williams (evil dead / Army of darkness)
Everything about this game was perfect... Music, puzzles, art style, it was a hard but addictive. Probably in my top 5 of all time
No one I know will ever enjoy this game like I do, but you get it, & I'm glad there's
someone out there that get's why this game is so good well put together. Simple, yet complex, plus all the around aesthetic of it, music to art
I'm with ya, haha def top 5
@@sonsoul3712Ikr! Tried suggesting it to friends but they didn't like it.. while i completed it hundreds of times and still willing for more, although i guess in my chuldhood i never was able to complete it yet i loved it!
@@mahmoudbadr9461 there is a remake i made i just released! Check this channel for download and gameplay footage!
@@thecawdfather87 wow i just saw some of the gameplay and I'm shocked and actually very happy with that version you made!!! I'll try it very soon, but i can see you did a great job already, i never would've dreamt i would actually be playing a "sequel" to casper 😂 also I'd like to contact you, i have so many questions about this!
And thank you for mentioning me here man, i wouldn't have known about it otherwise! You made my day and brought a lot of nostalgia ❤️
atmosphere too.. the attic music was just creepy, so was actually going in the attic
"Hang On!" x200
Casper, I've been waiting over 20 years to see the ending of this game, I can most certainly hang on..
Memories.
It's weird how you forget things for years, but after a minute watching it triggered my memories of the whole thing.
Thanks for watching! :D
Same
Watched this all the way through, thanks for making it. When I was younger hours of frustrating gameplay went into this game and I never completed it. Amazing to see how it ended! Nostalgia overload.
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you liked it. It's a personal favourite.
Same thank you
I used the old fashioned cheat codes lol
You know what I remember the most about this game? The instruction manual had a short walkthrough for the very start of the game in it, and it told you to walk into the fireplace at the beginning, claiming that you would take no damage. Well of course you took damage from it, and the manual just said "Guess you shouldn't trust everything you read."
I can't believe I still remember that.
Yes! Haha! I still have the manual. And despite walking you through the first puzzle, I was still completely clueless at the time.
I honestly manage to get in touch with the lead programmer for Casper and while I do not have a direct answer yet this is what he recently told me ;
Wow, I never expected this question!
You are correct that I was the lead engineer for the Casper game. We built a pretty slick game editing tool for that game, and that allowed the gameplay designer to create each level and all the puzzles, without any custom programming. The programming I did was generic, and each level is a data file. Therefore, I'm not intimately familiar with all of the puzzles they the gameplay designer created. Sadly, I do not know if that extra key is an error or not.
You might try contacting the gameplay designer, or producer. However, given how long ago this was, I would not get my hopes up too much.
I'm really happy that you enjoyed the game. It was a fun project for us too.
-Eivind Hagen
This is amazing! Maybe we can actually find out the answer, finally. I just find it hard to believe it's a mistake considering how well-made the rest of the game is. There are no loose ends otherwise. 🤔
@@idonthaveanose yeah I also put the disk into my disk drive on my computer and decompiled some of the files and was able to find a list of all the rooms, between all the bonus rooms that are listed specifically as bonuses, there are 7, plus 2 "secret rooms", but the boiler area, Casper's playhouse, "attic dark", and many other areas are listed as thier own "level" as Eivend said. All together we were able to count up 10 secret rooms but only 9 are found. Seemingly at least. The 9 secret rooms I find are (and this is including adding the boiler room and so on, even though they're listed as their own separate areas or "levels".
The area above the main hall, the garden secret, and the bookshelf area behind it, the wine rack, the basement maze, The boiler room, the area with the silver door, the organ room, and the Attic. That's 9 out of 10. So seemingly there is one area missing. I contacted the lead level designer, which I did try recently, but I haven't gotten an answer (Ragnar Tornquist) yet. My next step is to write down every area or the file name for it at least, and go through the house area by area and cross it off until I'm left with extras or none.
This genuinely fascinates me. This video has garnered way more interest than I expected. I'm pinning this conversation. I hope you get the answer, I'm rooting for you.
@@idonthaveanose I've been playing this game since I was 5 years old I'm about 25 now and this has bothered me probably about as much as it has bothered you lol. because like you said the game is so finely put together everything has a use, I'm having a very hard time believing that it's just a spare red key. And none of the play testers or QA people would just be like, "oh yeah I finished the game and tested all of the secrets" and not bring up the maddening red key.
Glad it's not just me! Originally I only uploaded this because one of my subscribers responded to a 'top ten mysteries' video I made, as the extra red key took the number 1 spot. This was basically my proof.
"Smell-o-gram! Smell-gram for Casper!" I remember I used to startle whenever I reached that part
I could NEVER beat this game back in the day. The farthest I ever got was after getting the ability to turn into a ball then getting lost not knowing what to do at the garden section. Great video.
Thank you! It's a hard puzzle! Makes you wonder who the intended audience was.
GameOn MetalOn omg sammmmmeeeeeeee
This game was like a hidden gem. I enjoyed it so much growing up. My grandmother bought this game when I was a kid and nobody played it except me and I loved it.
So nostalgic for this. Even the sounds after you pull the levers. Mental
me and my mom got stuck on this game for the longest time. We couldn't look up guides because we didn't have internet at the time so this brings up a lot of good memories of me and her trying to figure out puzzles together.
Thank you. As a kid I got stuck and gave up. Dont even remember making it to the lab or the basement. Years later I found a cheat to unlock everything and passed it that way. Years later again today in 2020 I decided I was going to try and pass it without cheatsand see if I can do it now now that I'm older. I think I made it further than I was a kid but still got stuck! The parts where the hidden smoke vents and levers are tricky! How did they expect anyone to know that back in the day? I never even knew about the spring or super Casper until today! Those bonuses were tricky! Thanks for the video glad I finally had some closure on this game after more theb 20 years!!
No problem! It is a hard game. I played it over the course of several years as I was growing up- every now and again I'd come back to it. I really don't know who their target audience was, but it's an amazing puzzle.
Yes I enjoyed the puzzle as well back then and today. Games aren't as challenging as back then as far as passing it goes. Still dont know what the gold coins were for? The final boss? Also maybe the extra key was in case you get locked out of passing the game by opening the wrong red door first.
@@Dragonater25 I agree, there are few puzzle games like this- I've never found another like it actually. The coins are an oddity to me. The only time you get to use them is during the final boss, as you say, but they're not necessary. You can just as easily use the fan morph to blow Carrigan away. It's strange to me, as there are so many fools gold coins in the game, for seemingly no reason.
Ahh someone sort of figured it out- there's a guy who commented a while ago, who I'm still in touch with, who hacked the game and failed to find any extra rooms. It's our assumption that the extra red key was supposed to be gold - because you can play the game in a different order and wind up missing a gold door. However, it still could potentially leave you with an extra key, so this is still something of a mystery. It's odd, as the rest of the game is put together so seamlessly.
SO MUCH NOSTALGIA! Thank you for posting this I loved this game!
Loved this game when I was younger. But got stuck at some point and eventually gave up. Just remembered it and great to be able to see it again. Thank’s for doing this
No problem! It's always been a personal favourite.
This was actually the first game I played on my PS1. I was just a kid back then and wouldn't start learning English till a few years later. So I just played the game and didn't know exactly what to do. But the memory stuck with me.
If you could remaster this without the loading screens itd be perfect cause the kid in me was like, LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO
I remember how I played this game when I was little but I literally stopped at the very beginning bcause i was too scared to continue. So I force my mom to play this since Im curious how the gameplay went lol. My mom hate me at the end because I always scream in frightened causing my mom to panic and loses alot XD
When I was little I was scared to progress- the bosses in each room used to make me jump.
the attic & basement music terrified me, I can vividly remember at least 3 nightmares I got from this game growing up , I used to cover my ears & make my mom play too, Somehow along the way it locked a place in my heart & I will play it until there's no copies left on earth haha
Ahhh aren’t we all a good ol innocent 90’s kid in the past 😅
Omg I’m glad this wasn’t just me. This game terrified me so I also forced my mum to play it. And that’s the nostalgia for me, remembering being with her watching whilst she played. Loved the game but it scared the hell out of me. The music for the attic and basement was absolutely harrowing, it still makes me shudder now if I’m honest! This was way too hard and frightening for a kids game in my opinion. Casper in the films etc is lovely and cute (he is still so in the game) but the whole vibe gives me the chills. I have played this as an adult and completed it but I still got freaked out 😂
I agree about the attic/basement music, it's so creepy, I love it. 😂
I think the developers did not have the same vision of the friendly Ghost Casper, finaly they made it a survival horror 😂.This game scared me when I was a child with his soundtrack and these sound effects.
Yeah it's really not a very friendly game! 😂 He still has this inane grin throughout though.
One of the very first games I owned as a young kid. Scared the shit out of me. I never beat it but I loved the jazz music in the organ room with the animal trophys.
Godddd the sound of that metal door opening/closing & those gold Keys and sandwiches & the owl hoot's legit take me back to being like 5 years old or so playing this game with my momma!!!!!! FREAKIN AWESOME
Who else is watching this for nostalgia?
I remember playing this game when I was 5 and couldn’t figure out how to finish it 😂. So many good memories!
It's way too hard for 5-year-olds, haha! I think I had it when I was 7, and I shelved it for years.
Anton Waldenschlossert The soundtrack is amazing! The music in the attic and basement is my favourite. Used to scare me as a kid.
I don't have a nose reviews, that is right, I was 12 years old when I played it for first time, the 3D graphics sorprised me so much, and the voices accuracy showed a very creative way to do from a Film a Game, I used also to stay staring at the rooms beauty like a new Gothic design in architecture, the upper windows are very old english way, I had such forms in mind through very time, and with the music it developped everything so comfortable, the Garden's tracks are just the sweetest, when I played it alone it made feel like a lone scientist in his manor getting lost in his very cleaver works, an experience hard to forget, but I confess that I would rather more cinematic sequences around the Whipstaff Manor like from the beginning and some related with the ocean under full moonlight, that is what featured many movies in the 90ties, so conservative that still today are more creative than the today's movies, CASPER's Movie is amazing for its very innocent humor sense, and I swear it will be for at least ninety years more still a wonderful movie, which inspired a curious way to do a Game from a Film, and more than all which reason made the game interesting and related to the riddles way.
I hope you do a playthrough about MEDIEVIL or DISCWORLD NOIR, or better, about THE CITY OF LOST CHILDREN.
Have a good Winter time!!!!!!!!
I was a kid when I played and I never finish this game, first because the game scares me a lot!.
For kids, it is kinda creepy! The attic/basement music used to creep me out.
And also the Fat ghost chases you
This game was never intended for kids!
Adventure games are always my favorite due to puzzles.
Crazy how I get drunk with my brother and I think about this all night at the bar. 5:20am and im watching this. Thank you so much for uploading this
Ahaha! Thanks for watching! 😂 That sounds like a great night
As a kid i was absolutly terrified at this but now its fine
Me too!
Just watched this after played for about an hour, it’s harder than I remember.
I watched the vid straight through, never finished this game. Thanks for the nostalgic post!
Just watched this after played for about an hour, it’s harder than I remember. Forgot this game because I thought this was Luigi’s Mansion looks very similar.
This was the very first video I watched of yours I remember I'm going to save it now I remember I was looking for all Casper games games I never played before but I sit here and watch this video this was my very first video on your channel
This literally was the first ps1 game i had with crash bandicoot. i remember it to look like watchdogs 2 xD
My granny and I used to play this game. I still have it and a PS1! This game is amazing and I'm glad other people know about it. I have the music forever in my brain lol
Man this game brings back so much memories I remember I couldn’t beat this so hard.
They should make more games like these it was fun finding all the pieces to the puzzles.
I really like this game I first played it for the Sega Saturn as a kid I could not beat it I got close but I couldn't find everything
I definitely never would have beaten this game without walkthroughs like this. Not one of my favourite video games (I'm not really fond of games with too many mazes and puzzles not to mention I'm more into games with action/fighting) but definitely one of the oldest video games I have ever had. I didn't really attempt the full game until I was older and while I managed to beat the main storyline without too much trouble, I needed the flying cheat in order to beat the bonus bits as I used up both gold keys and even one or two red keys which left me unable to finish the bonus bits without that cheat. That being said, I did enjoy the challenge the puzzles and mazes offered.
Holy nostalgia batman - perfect thing to watch when I can't sleep ❤️
I remembered this game with better graphics😂
Dragoncam13 To be fair, to me, they don't look that bad for 1996. No idea why there's a glitchy flicker on the right hand side of the screen though.
i don't have a nose RETROGAME REVIEWS! PS1, PS2 The graphics for this game are good though that's why I remembered them as 3d😂
Dragoncam13 Haha! I love Casper's inane grin throughout, even though it's such a depressing place. Always loved the look of this game though. Kinda reminds me of a board game. The full title is Casper: A Haunting 3D Challenge but it's more overhead POV than 3D. Thanks for watching btw!
i don't have a nose RETROGAME REVIEWS! PS1, PS2 np
literally me everytime when i was playing every old games 😂
As a kid, oh cool puzzle game. As a teen, now I understand the puzzles. As an adult, wait a friggin second. Why are walls stopping a ghost?
Did anyone hear the rumour as a child that if you followed the spiral pattern in the hall way with Casper perfectly it unlocked some secret room or something? I spent hours trying to do it.
Yes I used to do that lol
@@stephaniejadelive glad it wasn't just me haha
Many years haunted me, i missed a hidden switch behind a tree and next to a house in the garden. Aaaaaarrrrgggghhhhhh who could have guessed that
When I was a small thing, I only found it when I randomly pressed the square button and Casper said 'it's a loose twig'. I was so confused. They don't give much away in these old games but imo that's part of the appeal, and it's why people are still talking about this game now.
Haven't seen this game for a long time I used to love playing this its nice to see it again thanks you just got a new subscriber :)
Thank you! Thanks for watching! 😀
@@idonthaveanose you're welcome :)
First time I've played this game was back in '99 on Sega Saturn. At first I thought it was missing a 2nd disc because right after the last cutscene (or credits, not sure) the screen would come back to the actual game at boss room for 1~2 seconds. Also for some reason the words _"2 cds"_ were written in pen inside of the cd cover. I had no ways of clarifying that back then.
Sometime in 2008 I've decided to find a PSX copy and play it again on PS2. This time I've finished everything, but ended up with a leftover red key just like you. This puzzled me a lot since I found no clue over the web about people with an extra red key at the time, so I had to deal with that and move along. This game always had _something..._ I honestly don't know.
Great video of yours anyways, cheers.
I hated that ghost that wants you to feed him but didn't know how to kill him..
Yeah, that's one part that's not explicitly clear. The hamburgers just randomly appear on the table in Act Two.
i don't have a nose reviews yeah I never understood the game, it pretty strange but interesting...
discovered yesterday and completed today with other 3 friends. None of us knew nothing about the game and we solved it without internet tips. It was hard but intense. Didn't managed to open all areas unfortunately.
I had this game as a kid and never got very far. I don't really get how children were supposed to solve half this shit
Yeah, I think they went a bit OTT with some of the puzzles, considering it's meant to be a kids' game. But it's great for a challenge.
So, I'm not 100% sure that it's what the red key is for, but there's another (bonus?) area I think you missed.
Near Casper's playroom with the organ, there's the metal staircase. I have memories (though not specific) of doing something with that when I was a kid and finished the game, I think it was another bonus area, and it might've used up the extra red key.
Love the playthrough, it's nice seeing a completely different take on it! One of my favourite games as a kid.
No, that's definitely in the video, haha! It was eventually confirmed that the extra red key was supposed to be a gold key. If you open the doors in a certain order, you can miss a gold door, and an extra gold key would've fixed the problem. There isn't another red door in the game, annoyingly, which is surprising considering the fact that every other loose end is tied up.
Thanks for watching btw!
@@idonthaveanose Oh that explains it, and explains why I often got locked out missing a gold key! I know in the map that's floating around there's a gap above that staircase like an area entrance (so not where you enter the playroom, but above it), and it shows it going nowhere. I might be completely misremembering from 20+ years ago but I thought for sure you could get in there too.
Thanks so much for the video, brought back a lot of memories!
I can't think where you mean unless you mean the cheat room that's only accessible by flying over the walls. That's the only room not seen in this video.
WOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! I was born in 1993 Jan 17th & dude I remember my mom & I LOVEDDDD playing this game omg !!! I literally remember getting on our AOL internet and looking for freakin cheat codes for this game like being able to float straight through the walls haha!!!! Thank you for posting this and literally take me back to a amazing time in my childhood with my mom !!!!
You're welcome, thanks for watching. Growing up, this was (and still is) one of my favourite games. I never knew there were so many fans of it since nobody ever talked about it.
Btw I'm also a 1993 baby. 😁
Oh my god I had this game! Never got very far, and eventually the ps1 doc became unusable, so it’s nice to see this again!
I really like this game I first played it for the Sega Saturn as a kid I could not beat it I got close but I couldn\'t find everything
I could never figure out what he meant by that draw a map what a map in your mind or can you actually draw a map in the game
He genuinely means just draw a map yourself. Tbh I never had to do that, but the maze becomes very confusing in the middle of Act Two. Also, if anyone did actually draw a map, it would surely have been HUGE.
@@idonthaveanose thanks
@@idonthaveanose Here you go, first one at the list: www.vgmaps.com/Atlas/PSX/#C
1:42:27 So I am playing this game again with my brother and we just accidently filled the bucket with water from this bookshelf! Have anyone else done this before?
Wow, I've never noticed this!
@@idonthaveanose it really is a game full of secrets haha. I never checked if its possible to fill the bucket from any bookshelf but I would guess its only that one. I really wonder why they added that feature tho?
I'd assume it wasn't meant to happen. Really odd though. I'm about to try it myself.
Edit: I tried it and it works, you're right!! Weird!
@@idonthaveanose haha wow! Yeah really weird!
This is slightly better than the Saturn Version, it loads faster and has voice dialog of that evil ghost lady at the end that keeps hitting Casper if you don't use the fan morph and also has sound effects on the screen where Casper is operating the Lazarus Machine.
It's true Ricky Ricon is Casper, I wish Dot, Lotta, Audrey (harvey street kids) be the Daughters of Ash Williams (Army of darkness)
Seeing the real ending really gave me tears ngl! This was one of my favorite game as a kid even though I've never beat it! I remember I played this game a lot with different save files because sometimes I can't find a certain key and I got stuck. I think my farthest progress was in the boss room where there's a tank and a merry go round and I got stuck forever there? Idk can't really remember it
This and Mickeys world of illusion always give me an intense nostalgia feeling
There are three black keys in the game:
1- behind iron door in a bathroom
2- From an iron weight also behind an iron door.
I cant find the third one to open the black door that is in the big chimney in the basement.
For the black door found through the pipe in the basement, I use the black key found with the iron weight (2). I'll have to check again, but I cannot recall another black key.
If you use your first gold key on the attic gold door does that lock you out of all the other gold doors?!
Sort of. There's one missable gold door, through the pipes in the basement. There's nothing essential there but it is annoying if you're a completionist.
This game is suppose to be for kids...
Did you know?
Strangely, player can refill bucket from leather chair in attic, not only from sink in bathroom. Glitch?
I was not aware of this. I'll try it!
Damn I remember playing this as a kid
I needed about a whole week(me, 2 of my friends, my mom with piece of paper and tones of notes) to complete this game with tons of trial and errors. I think I've got a map somewhere still.
Haha! I love your determination! I played it bit by bit growing up. I'm not sure how they expected kids to finish it.
I played a bit when I was a kid, but I never understood what I supposed to do in the game in that time
This game scared me lol

Medievil is my fav PS1 game
thats a very decent list
I have watched the 1st minutes 3 times now and cannot figure out where the fuck you got the top right piece of the stretch jigsaw to make the bouncing ball morph... i have played the game many times when i was a kid and used to get through that part easy... i am seriously questioning if my game has glitched because i have gone everywhere and done everything you did over and over again retracing my steps but that piece is nowhere to be found at all
Um... There's one piece in the drawer in Casper's room, one in a chest, right wing, one in the garden, and... I forget the last one
@@idonthaveanose thank you so much for this video and your reviews as well. You are great :)
No problem! Thanks for watching! 😃
I use to have this game when I was a kid, I could not get passed the first level omg a lot of stuff I see that I've missed
It took me years to get into it, I remember being stuck on Act One myself when I first played this as a kid. I absolutely love the effort they invested in this game.
I don’t get who the green ghost is
@@8swonderland What green ghost? 🤔 Carrigan?
How on earth did you master this game? Most complicated puzzle game ever created
Are the voice actors for this game the same people that were in the movie? Bill Pullman? Christina Ricci?
Only the ghosts have the same voices, besides Carrigan. The people are all cover voices. And I swear the voice for Carrigan for the one line she has is the girl who voices Kat trying to put on an evil voice but I could be wrong.
@@idonthaveanose huh thats interesting. I tried to look this game up but its not even on wikipedia and couldn't find out who voiced who. I know it said in the back cover of the game (original voice actors of the movie) but I feel like a few of them didn't sound the same lol.
According to the booklet, Dr Harvey and the narrator were voiced by Blair Bess, and Kat was voiced by Tanya Krievins.
@@idonthaveanose thank you so much man! I always knew they sounded different lol
No problem!! 😁
Instead of using the puzzle pieces to get the morphs to finish the game, use the following trick. Enable the "Free movement" code. Starting from the main hall (with the twisting floor), move up the left staircase. When the next section is done loading, press R1 to go over that wall, then go down until a room appears. It contains all the morphs, items, and food needed to complete the game.
I never got the Casper man morph(the icon for speed.), As I never completed the portrait.
I remember this game, it has great graphics, music and I think all the actors returned to reprise their roles.
But jesus christ the game was confusing af on where to go, I didn't get far and I didn't own this game but I enjoyed it even tho I didn't know where to go. (also I had no manual which didn't help either)
Not all the actors did - Kat, her dad, and Carrigan were played by other people, but Casper and his uncles were the same actors. The music is fantastic. A little repetitive, especially if you're stuck for hours on end, but good quality.
Cool that you reply to individual messages!
So I believe you're supposed to use the keys to doors as planned by the game. If you have a gold key & used it on another gold door,
you would eventually just get stuck, without being able to progress any further, which is annoying.
& there's stuff like 1:08:05, 1:40:03, 1:45:30
one could take weeks/ months to figure that out!
Honestly, I explored this game over several years. It's genuinely insane but I love it. The gold key thing is annoying but I could swear I found a way around it at some point. I have no proof though, so maybe I got stuck and started afresh, who knows? 🤷🏼♂️
Haha.....
Exactly I restarted the game several times over
playing this in the early-2000s & each time progressed a bit further.
Only option I have now is to restart the whole game, as I cannot move any further!
I personally call this game "Casper's Nightmare" Lol
It took me ages to get into the game but I became more and more curious about it as I got further. And tbh it's not the least bit rewarding but I love it. The only thing you have to remember is, leave the gold door in the attic til later.
I see.....
If I do attempt to retry this again, I'll keep that in mind!
Was this Longplay on the PS1 console?
I... forget. It may have been on the PS3.
childhood game right here ps1
This is a really good game that I miss playing
How can I move the bookcase ? I’ve tried but doesn’t move. 🧐
Hi! Do you mean in the secret area towards the end??? If so, a switch activates it but they don't actually tell you it's done anything. After turning the switch on, press X by the bookcase.
Hope this helps. 🙂
Yeah! That one ...so there is a switch for the bookcase, thank you so much and excellent video you got a new subscriber.
Thanks a lot! Yeah, the switch is accessed by the first vent you come across after using the spring morph over the spiral floor. It's hidden by a wall, underneath a brass fixture wall lamp!
You are a pro, I thought Casperman was only for go faster!
I really wish I could play this game again
So can you actually go through the vent that stinky comes through? Like do you just have to be quick enough to get it?
No- they disappear. Although there is at least one that has a real vent behind it.
Nostalgia browww😍😍
Has anyone ever noticed that Interplay's game made extensive use of the NBC (as in Tim Burton) typeface?
Yeah, I noticed they used that font 😂
@@idonthaveanose Also, that this version's intro doesn't have the "One Dark Night at Whipstaff Manor..." like the 3DO and Saturn versions do.
I couldn't figure out how to fill the bucket and extinguish fire. :O Isn't the part at 18:50 where you can get trapped in the room? I remember being stuck in a room and I think that might be it, since it's not 30:28 (I didn't get anywhere close to that room.) I don't remember if I ever got the saw morph. How much wine did this family need? That house is absurdly huge.
Thank you got making this. I couldn't figure out how to get past a certain part. I've spent hours playing this game only to get 3 parts of the machine. I really want to play this again now that I've seen how it's done.
To fill the bucket you press circle by any sink, and then press circle again by a fireplace. I don't think it's possible to get stuck permanently in any room, but if you collect a certain gold key in the wrong order, you can miss some chests (although I swear I've managed it somehow before despite getting the order wrong). It's so easy to get stuck in this game though. I'm convinced there's probably some locations I haven't found.
Thank you for watching and commenting! It really makes me happy people still remember and like to play this game as it rarely ever seemed to get talked about all that much. It's always been a favourite. :D
@@idonthaveanose it's by far one of my favorite games ever. I love puzzle games. I remember my mother bought this around the time we got our ps1, which had to be around 1998. It was one of the first video games I ever played. This game really frustrated me, but I think the challenge made me love it even more. Hopefully I still have this game with my ps2 games. Do you know if this game can be emulated? I'd love to play this without buying a ps1.
I do know there's a website you can play it on but on my laptop it didn't work well. The sound and picture quality was horrible. I'm not the best to ask about that, I honestly have no idea.
I also love puzzle games. I've never found another game like this but wish there were more.
where is the 3 Black key????
At 1:17:08 , how do you open the door with the arrow pointing south?
I used to play this game
I love this game
Do you think we will see it on ps5?
Very doubtful but it's good to know this game is still appreciated by many. :)
i don't have a nose games I played it since 10 years old I had also no clue where I had to go and when I saw ur video it changed me a lot
Good to know it was some help! Did you finish it?
i don't have a nose games yeah I did I released the lazors machine then I enjoyed the cut scene
Ok i wanted to play this and finally beat it without having to use a guide but i always come back to this video when i het really stuck... my problem is, in the room with the piano i dropped a few weights down to try and activate the floor panels but they just fell through the floor with nothing happening at all as it turns out i needed to move the chairs on them so i lost a few of the weights from my inventory... i am on act 3 but it looks like i need those lost weights for the floor panels to get the remaining items and keys etc... is there any way to het the weights back or am i screwed???
Hmm, I'm not sure actually. How many weights did you use up? There are a lot in the game. Where possible, I always use chairs (although there's at least one switch that needs a weight specifically which is likely what you're talking about). If you have no weights and you've used up all the ones from the bonus rooms, you might be stuck. 😐
Always use chairs when you can - especially in areas that have a lot of floor switches, like in the room left of the winding staircase. There are several chairs there for a reason.
I mean... there are extra weights if you want to cheat, but I'm guessing you don't want to. 😂
@@idonthaveanose is that the cheat where you hold L1, R1, UP, LEFT and START to float over the wall into that room with all the game items?.... i been looking online the past half hour trying to find help but that cheat is the only thing i found...
That's the one... I wouldn't use that, it ruins the game. But if you're struggling and there are no weights, it might be the only option. I can't remember any late stages of the game where you find more weights. Have you been to all the bonus rooms so far?
@@idonthaveanose i dropped 3 i think before i gave up and tried the chair instead as the weights didnt do anything even though they disappeared through the floor when i dropped them... i just find it mind boggling that the game is actually designed to lock you out that late into the game if you drop your weights... especially in that piano room on the 3 floor panels but it doesnt do anything it just destroys the weights and makes them vanish without even working... it is essentially an area that just destroys them... if it is a glitch then it is a huge game breaking glitch for sure...
I am stuck on this game. I have been trying to find where to use the Black Key. I think the door to the basement was a black door, but I already got in that door. And I can't find a Gold key to open a door that's in basement that you get to from the pipes. Can you help me out?
It depends on what order you play it in. I'm not sure how you've opened that black door prematurely though.
Yeah, I'm not sure either. How many keys are their for each color? I already have all the Lazarus machine pieces, I have the item you use with it to make it work. I also have all 4 pieces for the last puzzle, which I thinks it going to be a picture of Casper. I'm also wondering where is the switch or whatever it is to push to open the gate in the garden maze to get into that section of the house? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just wanting to get done with this game, been trying for about a month now or so.
Tom B Okay so... the switch for the gate in the maze is behind the tree next to the playhouse, out of sight. You likely have the pieces for the penultimate puzzle in that case- not the final one. The Casper puzzle unlocks the bonus spring morph which can be used to open another area. It's all in this video if you get stuck more.
at the 1hr.30min.20secs. u dropped the weight on the floor panel and it opened the gate to the left of that room, how do you get to that room?
Tom B You access that room in the basement through one of the pipes. It's the room where you find the cellular integrator.
Tried thrice.....but never completed this as a kid (early-2000s)
I'm wondering if I should try it now on the emulator,
unless it stresses me out!
Oh it will but it's worth it. 😁
do the gold coin do any thing on this video game here
They can be used to distract Carrigan during the final boss. Instead of chasing you, she'll collect coins instead. Otherwise, no.
Did Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman do the voices for the game too.
They didn't - they're voiced by Blair Bess and Tanya Krievins
this was for the super nintendo and game boy
i cant find anywhere what is the fools gold for? is it just to have "something to collect" thats useless?
The fool's gold coins are used to distract Carrigan during the final boss but they're not necessary. I don't know why they included so many.
I got access to the black key by completing the tornado jigsaw puzzle,I found another by dropping an iron weight on a mat how did you get the 3rd black key.
I'm missing the last puzzle piece on the bottom left for Casper's portrait.
I'll have to double check but I think there's a black key as you enter the maze in the basement??
@@idonthaveanose Thanks I see where I got lost in the basement I missed the hidden vent by the beer bottles.
When you morph you come out of a pipe and there's the piece with the black key.
Thanks again this game qualifies for a remaster.
Only thing I'll change is adding a minimap to the game.
@@idonthaveanose I see they have this game for gameboy color the exact same gameplay just some doors and keys are rearranged.
No problem, and I agree! Although no map is part of the challenge, haha!
Yeah, I noticed they were almost identical too.
In this day i tried to finished this game..and I can do it..but not 100%..
I’m alll
The way to the end but when I try to get the cellular Intergrstor the two cage doors are still there so I can’t use the silver key to get the intergator is there way to unlock those two door ways when u go use the silver key
I'll have to check later, but I think you've missed an area through the vents in the right wing (near Farmer Stinkie puzzle) and up the stairs.
How To Casper Game Download Will do
Ok so I pulled the lever down at 46:02 and there was no sound of a door opening and when I go to the door it’s supposed to open around 46:45 the gated door is still closed and I can’t get into that room. Any ideas what I missed?
I'm pretty sure that gate should be open after activating the switch. I can only think this is possibly a glitch? I'm not sure I'm afraid.
