@@SparksofHell absolutely, this live is, imo, simply hands down the best live performance ever, those that come really close after for me are opeth (at red rocks), the uprising live from Sabaton at woodstock and another one I can't remember just off the top of my head
Where Dragons Dwell - Live at Hellfest 2013. The last 4.5 minutes are legendary, drum-wise.

They are form France, voc and drums are brothers, Mario is one of the best metal drummers ever. And Silvera is not even heavy comparing to their other stuff! You need to check more of them! :) Gojira is just awesome!

There’s only two bands that I instantly fell in love with and spiraled down into a rabbit hole with their discography...Jinjer and Gojira! I really hope you do more of them. Gojira is a French band that started in 1996 but like Jinjer, they’ve only started to now become super popular in the last four or five years. The lead singer and the drummer are brothers Joe and Mario Duplantier. The other guitarist and bassist are Christian and Jean Paul. Next check out Pray live at Red Rocks. My advice to you is to only react to live songs. This band is 1000% a live band!
THIS RIGHT HERE!!!!! I’m a very old school metalhead and these two bands have single handily restored my faith in heavy music!! I can’t believe it took me so long to discover Gojira but when I did.... man I can’t get enough!!!!

Bonne réaction vierge. They're still a band. They have been a band for decades. Two brothers in the band. The composers. The drummer Mario Duplantier, one of the best drummers in the world. And the guitarist singer Joseph Duplantier. One of the best live bands ever. Cool that you talked about Pantera. There are connections between them. Gojira is influenced by Morbid Angel, Sepultura, Metallica, Pantera, Jazz. Many bands. Gojira is a french band. Interesting Sean Penn comparison. The band was named Godzilla before. They changed the name for Gojira. (Gojira = Godzilla in japanese, surely why your young friend on twitch has this name) Definitely check them more. You should be amazed.

I've been a Gojira fan since 1999. They are so good! In the Wilderness, Toxic Garbage Island, Flying Whales are all amazing songs too. Love this band! Gojira, Meshuggah and Belphegor are my musical holy trinity check em out!

Looks like these guys have been around for a while. Formed in 1996. First album in 2001. Recording quite a bit in the 00's. Two albums in the last decade.
Literally listen to every single Gojira song bc they are so unique and you can’t go wrong with watching them play live... they are one of the best live performances you could ever see.
Yeah these guys have a knack for coming up with some amazing heavy riffs.

Fun fact about Hellfest: one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe and the first to exist in France. Festival is held in Clisson, a small town (population ca. 7000) and has a castle and imposing ruins, parts of which date from the thirteenth century.

Ooohhhh buddy - you just opened a whole new can of awesome. Gojira don’t just have songs that you should listen to - they have a CATALOG that deserves your attention. Five bucks says once you do 2-3 songs off of “From Mars to Sirius” you’re going to do an album review. Yes, it is that damn good.

This is the only decent quality live version I could find. When I saw them live the crowd had a secret clap for the chorus, which only made it better, it's missing here, but it's still great.

i heard silvera back in 2018 and gojira was not all that back then, now i have 71 liked songs on spotify and they are my favorite band :)

Maybe not the same Pantera as 20 years ago, but I just saw them less than 2 weeks ago. Happy I got to see them even if it's only half the original band.
Wow. To start with Silvera, and have no idea what madness lies is in front of you.. I’d pay for the experience again, to begin the exploration. Gojira is as good as it gets. Others have made strong recommendations for your next reaction.. the songs Gift of Guilt live at Brixton Academy, or the Art of Dying (studio version) will work. Then, keep diving.
Also, I hear Pantera in their music now and then as well. These guys formed in 1996, so it would have been impossible not to be influenced by them.

Some years ago, they brought me back to metal (I've been playing in metal bands in my youth then lost interest).

Amazonia is their newest song and they have a charity to go along with the vid. The way the Duplantier bros play together very very reminiscent of Pantera Abbot Bros and Van Halen Bros. You can only get that locked in with drummer and guitar after a lifetime of playing together. Love the channel and will come back for more!
This is one of my favorite bands. They have so many good songs. You can’t go wrong with them. I would agree with the suggestions for Stranded ... that song has a killer riff that sticks with you. 🤟🏻
Those latest songs are cool and easier to listen , but if you check the earlier stuff from them like the heaviest matter of the universe , remembrance , love ,the art of dying ,wisdom comes ,clone...stuff like that , it's more death metal ( and awesome ), and of course they are incredible live ,but yeah check out " the heaviest matter of the universe " one of their most famous song , you won't regret it .

Silvera is a decent starter song for this band. but I'm urging you to go deeper. There's lots of great suggestions below mine... my fave is "Backbone", the second track of "From Mars to Sirius"
I never miss these guys whenever they come around to tour the US. They are absolutely a band that deserves every bit of legendary status that the world can give them.

Dude I was the same, stuck n my good old metal and all new bands did not appeal to me. They all sound alike, trying too hard, doing nothing new, bad singers etc. That was until I was confronted with a band called Gojira. They blew me out of my comfortzone and got me excited about new music for the first time in decades. Their foundations lie in bands like Metallica, Pantera and Sepultura but they dont sound anything like them. Its a band where the leadsinger also plays rhythm guitar and their riffs are just so fucking metal. So fresh, heavy and hard hitting. Lyrics with depth and a message and great albums full of progress. They are the next evolution in heavy metal dragging it into the modern age.
Recently Ive also discovered a band called Jinjer which does about the same for me as Gojira. They are blowing me away with their musicality and their own distinct sound with deep heartfelt lyrics. Give them both a change and you wont be disappointed.
Good entry songs for Gojira are Stranded, Flying Whales, Lénfant Sauvage, Only Pain, Magma or Silvera.
Good entry songs for Jinjer are Pisces, Teacher Teacher, Outlander, Perennial and Who is gonna be the one.

Great reaction! They have much heavier songs than this. One of my favorites songs is “Backbone.” But if you want heavy and brutal, I recommend “ Rememberance”, from The Link Alive. It’ll blow your socks off, especially the outro.
