    I don't think you should sell it Japanese bikes hold their value well. Also 22,000miles is nothing for a suzuki I have seen hayabusa's at 100,000 miles these bikes just don't die

    Had a 2016 that got totaled with 800 miles on the clock after a delivery driver u-turned right into me. Still can't find a good replacement... a sport bike with upright egos for the street that isn't trying to be a touring bike and weight 500+lbs. Great bike!!!

    How do you go so LOW that you run out of gas "3 or 4" times?? Really????
    That's RIDER error, nothing to do with the bike!

    This bike is freakin' awesome. I've had my GSXS-1K for a year and a half now and i will never get rid of it. If anything I will always add to the collection, keeping this Gsxs-1k as my go to bike for everything. This bike is a beast too, with the K5 engine. I love it. Always starts, never gives me any problems whatsoever. A very solid bike indeed. It's also so damn easy to ride. It is so much fun to get on it. It will make you shit your pants and then some when going through the powerband because it just keeps pullin', like a monster. I have been shocked at how good this bike really is. IMHO it's very underrated. It puts a smile on my face every time i ride it. Adding a QS to it and a power commander V was the best thing I have ever done to a bike. I'm so in love with this damn bike. Cheers!

    hey man i have the same bike u do. for that sticky ignition i put grease on my key and worked it in the ignition and turned it around and since then i havent had any problems since. it sounds dumb but it worked. i used grease cuz even though its messy it will help keep moisture out. my ignition looks black right now because of the dirt and stuff thats built up.

    Im not too familiar at all with Suzuki bikes, but there is a way to wire a switch to the fuse for the ABS and you can toggle it on and off. No clue if it will work for all bikes but it does for some.

    Have a GSXS1000F. I had same ignition issue. It gave me problems after 10K miles. The key wore out not the switch. The switch metal is a lot tougher than the key's. Fix: make a copy of spare, use the copy.

    If you feel good on track and not the street you obviously don’t have it set up for the street and you can’t set it stuff then complain it’s stiff. 🤦🏼‍♂️! That’s why they have adjustments of you want it soft with no deal they can make it that way real easy just a tape measure and tiny screwdriver will do it!

    on the gas thing, to avoid relying on electronics in case of failure or hard to read, i mark how many miles i get out of the tank and give myself a 20mi cushion. My CBR 929 got 32-35 a gallon with a 4.5 gal tank. I would fill at 120 trip miles.

    • @HGAviator
      @HGAviator 7 років тому +1

      dvsmike I do the exact same thing. My 2003 ZX6RR Ninja has a four gallon tank. I get from 100 miles to about 120 miles per tank. that ain't much, but on average, I ride at 85+ on the highway.

    Thanks, I was waiting for a long term review. So, even at the softest settings the suspension is too hard for rough pavement? And could you provide a tad more information about the throttle fix.

    • @MOTOPILOT6
      @MOTOPILOT6  7 років тому +3

      Hi Walter. The somewhat stiff suspension is not a big problem. You just feel the bigger bumps more than I prefer. I don't consider the suspension a big issue. I weight 170lbs so heavier riders will experience a softer ride. The BoosterPlug smoothed out the low RPM throttle response by supplying the motor a richer fuel/air mixture. You can get deeper research on their website.

    Hey MP. I have a '15 Kawi Ninja 1000. Suzuki clearly put their crosshairs on this bike when they created the GSXS 1k. Have you ever test piloted the N1L? I rode your model on Suzuki demo day and really liked it. Lack of factory saddle bags killed it for me though. FYI try a Sargent seat. Made a world of difference on mine.
    Cheers.

    • @MOTOPILOT6
      @MOTOPILOT6  7 років тому

      +1RogueAgent Whats an N1L? Research shows that Sargent has a great quality product. Just not for my model. Figures. A buddy here at work has your same bike with the bags. Suzuki didn't build the GSX-S as a touring bike, but they would have been smart to have the option of adding bags. MP out.

    The problem with Suzuki in America: the dealers. I have had one service experience that was pretty great...and that was directly related to one that was terrible ( no longer a Suzuki dealer, though). I am suspicious dealer issues has to do with difficulty dealers have with getting SoA to cover work...(because revenue is low).

    The sticky ignition tumbler issue is not unknown to Suzuki performance bikes. I have an older GSXR 1000 with the same problem. I used a sparing amount WD40 into the tumbler and a little on the key itself. With the key inserted a rolled the tumbler several times and bingo it worked well. All the best from Vancouver!

    suspension is stiff because Suzuki built this bike as a sports street bike and not a sport touring bike. Also putting on a slip on will not really make a difference you need to put on a decat. Adding a decat would change the sound with out spending money on a slip on

    I am getting ready to buy one of these and trying to decide between the Z or the F. I read in a review that the F did not have that great of wind protection once the speed increases? Is this true? They also cited the rough ride over rough pavement and the low speed throttle response on off choppiness. I demoed a used 2016 on smooth pavement and loved the way it handled, it is very nimble, and the sound and responsiveness of the engine. I much preferred it to a Z900 Kawasaki in that regard. Any major differences in the two models you know of? Thanks in advance.
