I don't think you should sell it Japanese bikes hold their value well. Also 22,000miles is nothing for a suzuki I have seen hayabusa's at 100,000 miles these bikes just don't die
Had a 2016 that got totaled with 800 miles on the clock after a delivery driver u-turned right into me. Still can't find a good replacement... a sport bike with upright egos for the street that isn't trying to be a touring bike and weight 500+lbs. Great bike!!!
MOTO PILOT it gives u miles to empty.. on this bike atleast gas gauge works from start.. my ninja 1000 didnt start reading fuel level till half a tank then fuel guage would start going down
Love this review. You covered every meaningful aspect that I am looking for feedback on. I feel like the S1000's in general are a great value. The helmet scares me though. It reminds me of when I was training in the gas chamber at fourt Jackson South Carolina. I think I want one...
This bike is freakin' awesome. I've had my GSXS-1K for a year and a half now and i will never get rid of it. If anything I will always add to the collection, keeping this Gsxs-1k as my go to bike for everything. This bike is a beast too, with the K5 engine. I love it. Always starts, never gives me any problems whatsoever. A very solid bike indeed. It's also so damn easy to ride. It is so much fun to get on it. It will make you shit your pants and then some when going through the powerband because it just keeps pullin', like a monster. I have been shocked at how good this bike really is. IMHO it's very underrated. It puts a smile on my face every time i ride it. Adding a QS to it and a power commander V was the best thing I have ever done to a bike. I'm so in love with this damn bike. Cheers!
hey man i have the same bike u do. for that sticky ignition i put grease on my key and worked it in the ignition and turned it around and since then i havent had any problems since. it sounds dumb but it worked. i used grease cuz even though its messy it will help keep moisture out. my ignition looks black right now because of the dirt and stuff thats built up.
Im not too familiar at all with Suzuki bikes, but there is a way to wire a switch to the fuse for the ABS and you can toggle it on and off. No clue if it will work for all bikes but it does for some.
Have a GSXS1000F. I had same ignition issue. It gave me problems after 10K miles. The key wore out not the switch. The switch metal is a lot tougher than the key's. Fix: make a copy of spare, use the copy.
4:55 - sorry to hear that, but that is not the bike's fault...? Another opinion concerning the display is: ua-cam.com/video/HlOL6SoCyAg/v-deo.html May I suggest "Spec Savers"...? :)
If you feel good on track and not the street you obviously don’t have it set up for the street and you can’t set it stuff then complain it’s stiff. 🤦🏼♂️! That’s why they have adjustments of you want it soft with no deal they can make it that way real easy just a tape measure and tiny screwdriver will do it!
I always thought this bike was ugly im sorry lol the naked ones dont look that bad tho but you did a good review on it and helped me learn a lil more about it. Great video!
I have to ask, how do you find the heat coming off it? Is it very hot on the legs and feet etc? I may buy one this week and its not summer here yet so I want something cooler to ride. (Cant stand being too hot like I am now)
on the gas thing, to avoid relying on electronics in case of failure or hard to read, i mark how many miles i get out of the tank and give myself a 20mi cushion. My CBR 929 got 32-35 a gallon with a 4.5 gal tank. I would fill at 120 trip miles.
dvsmike I do the exact same thing. My 2003 ZX6RR Ninja has a four gallon tank. I get from 100 miles to about 120 miles per tank. that ain't much, but on average, I ride at 85+ on the highway.
Thanks, I was waiting for a long term review. So, even at the softest settings the suspension is too hard for rough pavement? And could you provide a tad more information about the throttle fix.
Hi Walter. The somewhat stiff suspension is not a big problem. You just feel the bigger bumps more than I prefer. I don't consider the suspension a big issue. I weight 170lbs so heavier riders will experience a softer ride. The BoosterPlug smoothed out the low RPM throttle response by supplying the motor a richer fuel/air mixture. You can get deeper research on their website.
can you do a review on the "booster plug" i would like to find a alternative versus a power commander and a ecu reflash for the jerkiness of the throttle. thanks!
Hey MP. I have a '15 Kawi Ninja 1000. Suzuki clearly put their crosshairs on this bike when they created the GSXS 1k. Have you ever test piloted the N1L? I rode your model on Suzuki demo day and really liked it. Lack of factory saddle bags killed it for me though. FYI try a Sargent seat. Made a world of difference on mine. Cheers.
+1RogueAgent Whats an N1L? Research shows that Sargent has a great quality product. Just not for my model. Figures. A buddy here at work has your same bike with the bags. Suzuki didn't build the GSX-S as a touring bike, but they would have been smart to have the option of adding bags. MP out.
My Bandit 1200 has done 175000km I have seen one with 240000km and I met a guy with GSX1400 with 290000km and a cb1300s Honda with 290000km. I am am sure there are plenty more like that out there.
The problem with Suzuki in America: the dealers. I have had one service experience that was pretty great...and that was directly related to one that was terrible ( no longer a Suzuki dealer, though). I am suspicious dealer issues has to do with difficulty dealers have with getting SoA to cover work...(because revenue is low).
The sticky ignition tumbler issue is not unknown to Suzuki performance bikes. I have an older GSXR 1000 with the same problem. I used a sparing amount WD40 into the tumbler and a little on the key itself. With the key inserted a rolled the tumbler several times and bingo it worked well. All the best from Vancouver!
Did the booster plug on this bike make issues with something on the instrument panel?? My husky nuda had a fail on the temperature gage when i got a booster plug
nice bike bro! i just got mine(not the F) mines naked, silver/black one. $9700 out the door, including a 2yr extended service plan on top of factory warranty. bro ur helmet is Dope!! where do i get one?
suspension is stiff because Suzuki built this bike as a sports street bike and not a sport touring bike. Also putting on a slip on will not really make a difference you need to put on a decat. Adding a decat would change the sound with out spending money on a slip on
Yo Motto, Will the booster plug on this Bike void warranty? I’m thinking about getting the ecu reflashed and I know they are going to find it on my bike.
I have the same bike and really love it. Totally agree with the gas gauge though. Instead of the constant warning light for TC off, I'd much rather have low fuel warning light in its place.
great review ,,i can relate to your running out of gas in fast lane ,,my bike started to die in the fast lane and i had no power to throttle out ,,cant tell you how F N scared i was pushed up against the barrier and then trying to push bike across 4 lanes with cars going by you at 60mph ,,thought for sure i was going to die
your helmet foghter pilot setup is great as fuck!!!! please explain. love it when riders talk about the seats. but yu said it was comfortable but then yu said the seat hurts after 40 mins
I am getting ready to buy one of these and trying to decide between the Z or the F. I read in a review that the F did not have that great of wind protection once the speed increases? Is this true? They also cited the rough ride over rough pavement and the low speed throttle response on off choppiness. I demoed a used 2016 on smooth pavement and loved the way it handled, it is very nimble, and the sound and responsiveness of the engine. I much preferred it to a Z900 Kawasaki in that regard. Any major differences in the two models you know of? Thanks in advance.
Is the other end of the hose in your trousers?
great review, helped me make the decision and I've chosen the GSX-S over the MT-10 (FZ-10) and the Z1000SX (Ninja 1000). Cheers!
Im doing the same over the same 2 bikes lol
You didn't know you were almost out of fuel?... it gives you an estimated range and the last bar blinks when you're almost out of gas
Brandon Bicasso yeah he agrees was totally rider error
I missed that part.
Brandon Bicasso was in replay to other peolple
I don't think you should sell it Japanese bikes hold their value well. Also 22,000miles is nothing for a suzuki I have seen hayabusa's at 100,000 miles these bikes just don't die

How do you go so LOW that you run out of gas "3 or 4" times?? Really????
That's RIDER error, nothing to do with the bike!
Totally rider error. LOL. My VFR had an idiot light. I've gotten better at eyeballing my gauge at every ride but not perfect yet. MP
MOTO PILOT it gives u miles to empty.. on this bike atleast gas gauge works from start.. my ninja 1000 didnt start reading fuel level till half a tank then fuel guage would start going down
CHECK THE GAS...CHECK THE TIRES...
WOW...A PILOT WITH NO PREFLIGHT EXPERIENCE...
+Moto Pilot amazing videos bro. I love your helmet. keep up the good content
Just bought one yesterday 3 hr ride home from where I bought it and rain today lol but in the first 250 miles it's been awesome!!!!!
love mine too, have the naked one and its been great. gonna do a walk around vlog soon to show mine off.
Love this review. You covered every meaningful aspect that I am looking for feedback on. I feel like the S1000's in general are a great value. The helmet scares me though. It reminds me of when I was training in the gas chamber at fourt Jackson South Carolina. I think I want one...
Keep up the great work moto pilot!! I've been loving your content lately! I want to get a bike myself too

Love the bike, not sure about the headgear.
What a ridiculous helmet. Looks a complete pillock. Poor review, as well.

Sounds like a good idea. Get in there with a Q-Tip to clean it. MP
Maybe a dry lubricant like graphite powder would keep it slick.
Wd40. I spray down the barrel fixes everything
This rider must be around 7 years old, average american 40 year old
Im not too familiar at all with Suzuki bikes, but there is a way to wire a switch to the fuse for the ABS and you can toggle it on and off. No clue if it will work for all bikes but it does for some.
You forgot to mention that the ignition left you stranded...😎...that SUCKED!!... GREAT REVIEW!
Have a GSXS1000F. I had same ignition issue. It gave me problems after 10K miles. The key wore out not the switch. The switch metal is a lot tougher than the key's. Fix: make a copy of spare, use the copy.
Tried the spare...same issue
thx mate for that,i just ordered one
4:55 - sorry to hear that, but that is not the bike's fault...?
Another opinion concerning the display is: ua-cam.com/video/HlOL6SoCyAg/v-deo.html
May I suggest "Spec Savers"...? :)
What is on your helmet. Put me off the review
"Because I'm pimp" hehehehe
Just started watching your videos and they're great keep up the good work.

That’s why they have adjustments of you want it soft with no deal they can make it that way real easy just a tape measure and tiny screwdriver will do it!
Running out of gas on the freeway. Did you not learn anything in riding school. Presafe checks. That's your own fault 😉, great you are safe though
I was thinking about getting billet grips for the look but I ride a lot in the cold and I don't need added cold in my hands lol
FOAM RUBBER GRIPS ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT I USE...
Why would you sell it after 2 yrs and 50k mi? I would ride it til I no longer enjoy it
My key did the same thing. I took graphite (pencil) and coated the key and it helps alot
Why don't you keep the bike and enjoy it and not look at mileage? Those Japanese bikes can easily go 100K mi's
Do people give funny looks when they see your fighter jet helmet and where do hook your oxygen hose to ?
It’s in his ass
how many chains did you go through?
good long term review, the booster plug worked for the throttle because that is the main criticism this bike gets, thanks for the review
Dude great video. Well done! Thanks for all rewiew of the bike.
What the hell is the tube coming out of your helmet for. You are not flying a jet!! LMAO
What year is your bike? Good review.Thankyou.It helps me make decisions on what motorcycle to purchase.
(Cant stand being too hot like I am now)
Suzuki Bender I feel zero motor heat. im about to sell mine if interested
MOTO PILOT I appreciate it but I definitely don't live close lol what are you going to buy next?
Suzuki Bender I have one mate,no problem with heating at all, great bike

HGAviator Yup thats my mileage on an 80-85mph avg on freeways.
awesome review! got myself the naked version and i love it! got yourself a sub for riding a gsxs!
You sound like Jeff Gordon
Cool bike. What do you pay for insurance?
dig this channel
What kind of tires or did I miss that part?
How is the heat managment on the bike?for example my gsxr 600 generates too much heat! Tnx
Excellent. I feel no heat coming from the bike

thai vang have a look at throttle tamer, it solved my issue mechanically without interfering with any of the bike systems.
What's like the average mpg on this
Hey MP. I have a '15 Kawi Ninja 1000. Suzuki clearly put their crosshairs on this bike when they created the GSXS 1k. Have you ever test piloted the N1L? Love the bike! Thinking about getting one. $500 to replace the ignition?. And people bitch about Harley’s being expensive!!
just bought the bike :))) i m so happy

I got a Gold D.I.D. x-ring what do you think of D.I.D.?
+Dar Tice D.I.D. is a good brand though I don't have recent experience with their street chain. MP
The best!
MOTO PILOT how many miles does the sprocket and tyres last for this bike. I am planning to buy one.

U a jet pilot...😂😂😂😂
What style of bike are you considering as a replacement?
Another naked perhaps, a Tuono, or SuperDuke, or a s1000r.
+Sleepingdragon 1 I love the Tuono...but would need to do more research. MP
If you ran out of fuel with the Suzuki, I think you are in for a thirsty surprise with the Tuono.
U put 22000 on a bike in 12 months? U need a vfr.. less maintenance and u can put 150000 miles on them with no prob.
What is with the gas mask?
suspension is stiff because Suzuki built this bike as a sports street bike and not a sport touring bike.

I know the oil filter access on these gsx’s suck wang, suzuki could of made the process of getting to the oil filter much more simple
Brasil ☺👍👍

Great job.
Motorcycle: Good, would buy. Helmet: Sad.
Pretty subpar "review" if you can call it that
Just buy a keyless module next time. that will end your key issue!
your helmet foghter pilot setup is great as fuck!!!! please explain. love it when riders talk about the seats. but yu said it was comfortable but then yu said the seat hurts after 40 mins
