    I had a GSX-S750 and loved it. It was my first bike too. I’ve ridden dirt bikes and such for a long time so riding it came natural for me. The street fighter/naked bikes are great. Plenty of power for anything you want to do yet they are easily managed on the street and normally get decent mpg as well. If I ever decide to get another bike it will be another GSX-S750 without question. The 1000 your on would be awesome too but I don’t trust myself with the extra power Hahahaha!

    Great video. It is a fantastic bike. The best thing is that you can do anything with it (commuting, touring, trackdays) and it does all of that with ease because it has heaps of power reserve everywhere yet a breeze to control.
    Snatchy throttle might have been the case on pre-updated models (although I didn't notice it on either of my test rides) but my 2017 bike fuels wonderfully.

    I got the s1000F and I tell you that thing up in the twisters was sensational and rode over 1200KM through the snowy mountains. My friends commented on how much loouder this bike is than the new Katana. People questioned if the exhaust was stock. They said in high revs its sounded amazing. Very comfy indeed

    I had to soften the suspension. It is very stiff from the factory. It is EASILY DONE with a flat screwdriver.

    Good lord i'm so pleased i brought one a 2018 1000z. Your video is like my sentiments completely and with decent fueling and no throttle snatch with the 2018 version i'm over the moon literately. Like a bat out of hell she'll be gone gone gone and i'm gone.Later

    Back for another bight of the cherry. This 1000z is so right. The compliments i get is nothing compared from many bikes before. The usual one is that looks fast and yep it is. 2.8sec to 100kms to be exact. Thats supercar ground. I've now pushed this bike in every possible way and happy to report TC 3 bar one low slide i was able to recover from never looked like loosing it. I go so far to say the amber light (traction control intervention) lights up like i left the indicator on (only much faster). Its god dam quick. I had the front wheel off the ground at 170kmh the other day and realized then how easy it would be to come a cropper. I have since realized those speeds require good roads, mostly none of which NZ has. Believe me this bike is a doddle to ride, just be sure to TC on 3 and you wont go wrong. Anyone interested in dollar vs performance can't go wrong here. Its a whole lot of Rosie for the money.

    Thing you have to remember with a Gsxs 1000 vs bmw s1000R/superduke/tuono is
    A it’s a fuckload cheaper 5-10k cheaper
    B 5-10 years from now 50,000kms later the Suzuki will keep on going while the bmw/ktm/tuono will struggle to even start 😂😂😂
    Sure a there’s faster supernakeds out there but best bang for back can’t beat the Suzuki they also dyno 140-145hp stock bmw s1000r dynos 150-155 stock that’s atw btw nothing a tune can’t fix 🤙🏻

      patrick balagtas I'm well aware mate. I did end up buying the S1000R haha but still a ripper bike for the money. This bike really defines value for money. The BMW's just offered all the bells and whistles with a lot of refinement and attention to detail.

    If i had the funds id buy one yesterday! Lol but currently all my funds go to amateur racing so I don’t really have any left over, but i have an rc390 for street riding, fun bike and super light but it just lacks the power unlike this beast, can’t believe the price point Suzuki met with this

  • @777geeman
    @777geeman 5 років тому

    You cant wheelie it with TC on (Maybe two inches in mode one). Turn it off and my God your not exaggerating in the slightest. I advise mode 2 for normal riding and 3 for wet conditions.I got out of shape at 140ks in a low corner slide yesterday and TC appeared to save the day. LOL yea it's a super bike like nudey. For anyone interested the 2018 machine is much the same fun factor (slightly more hp and with less throttle snatch)i was about to buy a 765 R\RC (rode them both) but on testing the cheaper 1000z (and viewing many mostly positive reviews like this one) I purchased it two days later with an R11 Yoshi and tail tidy. I might have to do a few out in the country videos with blurred out speed because i positively lost my licence at least ten times yesterday.

    I have a street triple and I'm looking at this as an option. I just wonder if it'll be as much fun inner city. Thinking I could probably change the sprockets -1 +2 to make this a little more crazy. The look doesn't do much for me either in comparison. Something tells me that it would be a sweet crisp bike to ride though.

    • @RoadRunner27
      @RoadRunner27  8 років тому +2

      Bottom line, bang for your buck, this bike is a winner. But, since riding the BMW s1000r, As much as this is a fantastic bike, it doesn't compare for a second. But, she's fucking smooth as, damn powerful, not slap you in the face powerful, like the BMW but still damn nice. I would say it would be equally as fun in the city, but, its not quite as punchy as the striple. All I'd say is go test ride, every 1000 naked, there is, and the Mt09, which my mate test rode and hated, but regardless, go try the speed triple, the gsxs, bmw s1000r, FZ1, mt10 etc and get the best appreciation for your next big investment. It's worth to make the right choice, and save you jumping between 1000cc bikes, because you only rode one, and found out another was better. :D Peace brother, hope this covers my thoughts, and maybe answers your questions :)

    • @tammyforbes2101

      Yea they fixed that it was fueling issue on some others it was just the throttle handle grips catching! There are videos online about both! I am currently getting ready to by a GSXS1000F myself a 2018 model bran spankets just two years old! Poor dealer thought they had them a sucker when I walked in and when I said, I’m here for this one bike nothing else, and I want it out the door for what you listed! They scrugged like shit thought I had me a big sale! Nope just a informed buyer who refuses to pay more for something then it’s worth. Time I pay the taxes and license I will be out right at $7k for a new bike! 😂

    You keep mentioning some things many times but neglect others, like the m.p.g., wind protection, peg height, tyres, tank capacity, accessories, clutch feel and ease/ assist, price, insurance level, pillion comfort, traffic riding in town, difference in 1,2 and 3 traction control, stopping distance at certain speeds. Is the engine sound annoying after a while? Can you buy a touring screen for it?

    • @miklosmaraczi8807
      @miklosmaraczi8807 5 років тому +3

      Well, he made the video mid-ride so it's understandable. As an owner - and fan, the bike is amazing! - let me answer.
      - I get 4.5 (touring), to 6.5 (city) l/100km. Tank capacity is 17l which is not a lot but acceptable in category.
      - Wind protection is good within legal speeds, above that not so much. Interestingly it is best in neutral position, there is more turbulence is you lean on the tank. Good stuff.
      - Stock tyres Dunlop 214 not the best. 190/50 rear.
      - Clutch is mechanical and requires some effort. It's a powerful bike but could have been better.
      - Pillion comfort lacking, that's not a two-up tourer. According to my wife the pegs are good, but not enough handles and the seat is firm.
      - Around town its great. Light, small, manageable. Low RPM assist. My only gripe is the modest steering angle, like a true sportbike.
      - Traction control can be turned off. It intervenes a lot and reliably on 3, let's you have fun in 1 while saving your bottom.
      - Stopping distance is minimal, the big beefy Brembo brakes are confidence inspiring and the rear brake works well. ABS is from Bosch (read :good).
      - Engine sound is absolute balls. A low growl that gets better with the revs. I love hearing it even after a year.
      - You can choose from several windscreens - factory, Yoshimura, Puig, R&g racing...

    I'm looking to progress from my CB600F Hornet and the GSX S1000 looks and sounds awesome, but what's it like in traffic around town? I've seen some reviews saying the power delivery is snatchy and it's difficult to maintain a smooth ride with constant speeds in low gears, one guy wrote that as a commuter it would be his biggest criticism of the bike; how have you found it? He also said it made cornering at low speeds (like roundabouts) more hassle. Any thoughts?

    • @MrDetonator82
      @MrDetonator82 7 років тому +3

      Don't worry about it, just go for it. Don't listen to all the crap you hear about the throttle, is nothing wrong there, it just takes a while to getting used with that much power in the low rpm.

    • @GMak81
      @GMak81 7 років тому +1

      I haven't ridden the GSXS1000 but I'd assume that like with any bike, if you use the clutch as your "second throttle", slow speed control should be a doddle. Slip the clutch to control really slow speeds.

    • @Chainspike101
      @Chainspike101 6 років тому +2

      This bike is excellent on the street. I think what makes this bike so perfect is the fact it can do anything. If you just want to cruise around it will do that just fine, my R1 I constantly had to watch the speedo for creep this bike doesn't do that. If you want to zip through turns, it will do that too and if you want a straight rocket ship, just twist the throttle and it qill quickly remind you it's a 1000
      Also it's clutch lever is very light and smooth, unlike the grizzly on/off of the R1 clutch,

    PS i liked your review, but with traction control on which do have on (ie anti wheelie) you are not going to power stand this bike (maybe 5 inches on TC1). After several months i know this bike very well now. Yes your very right in your estimations of this bike. More so in 2018/19.

    Would u recommend for someone coming off restricted license?

    • @RoadRunner27
      @RoadRunner27  8 років тому

      Definitely a manageable bike. But I'm about to review the BMW s1000r. Which is a whole other beast.
      The GSXS is a very forgiving bike, and is unbelievably comfortable. See I would recommend someone go from their restricted, to a 600 supersport, or a 600 or 1000 supernaked, but not a 1000cc supersport. The nakeds often have less horsepower by a certain number, making them much more manageable. If you've any further questions or specifics feel free to ask ! Hope this helps. I have one for you, and its how long have you been riding on the road, and on what.

      +RoadRunner thanks heaps for ur response mate..I'm considering either a naked litre bike or a 600supersport but I'm not sure of the riding position...I've been riding for around a year and a half..I'm on my p"s but I'm 33 so not young and dumb like I used to be lol I've been riding a 250 Yamaha virago

    • @RoadRunner27
      @RoadRunner27  8 років тому +2

      +Chris Moy last point the bike world is surging towards naked because of their comfort. I can ride a 10hr day and not be sore or tired. My rides a CBR600RR and after a 90min journey, is sore as all hell. back and shoulders because of all the weight on your arms. If you do track days different story. but for a comfortable, road bike with the looks and power, just more upright. I couldn't advise against a full fairing bike anymore. I can push a naked as hard as any full powered full fairing thru most circumstances anyway. just without that top end, and a little wind battering.

    Bro I applaud you for being safe and being a good rider but bro you don’t need that full suit unless you plan on going down at high speeds! Personally I have got by just fine with helmet jacket boots and gloves. Been down and all was fine suit wouldn’t have helped a thing besides dehydrate me but to each his own glad to see people loving bikes like I always have! I can’t wait till next week I’m getting my 2018 GSXS1000F! Done maid the done payment just gotta drop the rest off and pick my bike up next week! I got a new 2018 for $7k out the door! Amazing deal but they had two and needed to sell something they said. I’m glad I could help them they said I was the first person to buy a bike this summer! They was stocking up when the virus hit and they took a big hit when all that tax money didn’t roll in and the bikes roll out so they posted a few online to sell cheap just to keep them a float! They said right now it was all maintenance and repairs nothing more everybody to afraid to make big purchases! I know our local ford dealer has weeds growing around a new truck and a Shelby 350 setting out front! Crazy looks like the world ended and know one noticed!
