  • Part 2 of 2. Full test of the 2016 Suzuki GSX-S1000F ABS. You'll learn more about this bike than anywhere else - period! Yes, our videos are long - but they provide more details and actual use than you'll see anywhere. You'll also learn things that only we will share with you. We already miss this bike because its roll-on low and mid range power delivery is simply awesome - just the way it should be for this bike.

    Love your reviewing style and riding style.
    Im picking up my red and black 2018 GSXS1000F in the next couple of weeks. Just teasing myself by watching every review i can before getting it!

    Nice balanced review. It's clear you like the bike, but provide a good, realistic opinion of it, backed by good facts and examples. I like the fact that you are riding it in places similar to those that I like to ride, in a style of riding like me - conservative, but fun. Most reviewers try and ride it like they were on a racetrack, and miss the point of the bike entirely. Riding style probably also explains the lack of complaint about abrupt throttle response. Brake before the corner, and accelerate through, so the throttle is always on - no snatch problem.
    I pick mine up today, and the info you have provided here about ABS and TC are very useful learnings (my first bike with these things, so good to know). Keep up the good work. Cheers

      Wow! Couldn't have said any of this better. Great points and comments. It's not about me and I'm not here to stroke my ego. I try to do exactly what you have pointed out. The testing and sharing of every point of the bike is also what it's about. Th points I have made about the electronics are valid and said nowhere else. Suzuki might not have been happy - but those were the repeated test results. One last thing - you are so going to love the engine. I have another video I should post - it's titled "Soundtrack by Suzuki" and it's this bike.

    Awesome report! I test-rode this bike today and felt in love with it. It felt like home right away. Does everything right. Didn't notice anything about the snatchy throttle, some are talking about.

      He is riding the pre 2016 model which you can tell by silver foot pegs and handles the later are black, has remapped fueling and other tweeks including a slipper clutch

    I've had my '16 GSX-S1000F for a little over a year now and have put almost 5k miles on it. You must have more cushion in your stock seat than mine, as after 45 minutes straight, the aching starts. I can say that I don't have anymore sticky ignition key issues that others have complained of. It somehow worked itself out.

    Have you tested the 1250 Bandit? I know Suzuki has discontinued it beyond 2016. It's got bags of torque off the bottom, makes this one feel soft.
    1290 Super Duke R is the same way with torque.

    Riding alongside a drop off edge seems a bit intimidating but even watching the video. What were your thoughts while making this video that you could so easily go over the edge?

      Please don't take this wrong. If you're afraid of something you shouldn't be doing it. Just as in all racing - if you look at something you end up riding into it. You're focus must be to look where you want to go and not at what you fear. If you have a fear of cliffs or don't quite trust your abilities then this would not be a road to take. I know the cliff is there, but my focus is where I want to go. One time I did focus on the cliff more than normal as I sped up to brake harder at the apex of a sharp corner with noting but air on either side - wanted dramatic effect for video. It did get my attention as I was pushing it a bit - as well as trusting the bike.

    yeah great review thanks. I had a very brief ride on one a week ago and thought the predominant aspect 'for me' was the remarkable mass centralisation these - or this bike - has - I haven't tried sport bikes for 15 years and this was - wow looks like a fairing but isn't really and the engine ...I dont give a f@#$ what the truono - or whatever its called - goes like, THIS GSXS 1000 F has a god like motor - I mean wtf does one want?!! and BE Humble and take what an amazingly small amount of doe can give ,,one. :) ..oh yeah mass centralisation - its deep and hard to describe but suzuki do it herein and there's no downside ...other than perhaps the muffler after market folk, who fuck it all up with long ..longer than stock ??? - and who gives a fuck if it's carbone fibre- it's outside the central mass man!!! :)

    • @motorcycletesting
      @motorcycletesting  8 років тому +5

      Oh - don't get me started. Throw out just about all low-end grunt, cover the front headlight with cardboard and you'll have a good understanding of the differences. You'll also have to ride the Kawasaki like a hard edge sportbike to get anything out of the engine. The Kawasaki bags and styling are very nice.

      The headlight on this model, is worthless. It's actually worse than that because you expect that you have a headlight but not really. We did excessive testing and backed it up with Kawasaki. It's a shame.

    snatchy throttle?

    • @motorcycletesting
      @motorcycletesting  8 років тому

      No, not really. Controllable massive roll-on.

    • @opmike343
      @opmike343 8 років тому

      I was curious about this as well. Most of the reviews I've seen have mentioned the snatchy throttle response. No mention at all here.

    • @motorcycletv1571
      @motorcycletv1571 8 років тому +7

      I think snatchy may b a little misleading. Tons of addicting low end roll-on power might be more appropriate. A newer rider (who shouldn't be on this bike) may feel something they would describe like that. I spent more time on this bike than most people. I rode it through ice covered roads for God's sake. If the throttle was in any way snatchy, I wouldn't of done that - never a problem on this bike. Heck, watch the video. If it was here it would show. Is it possible Suzuki found a better adjustment for this bike than the first released units - yes. Suzuki actually thanked me for truly riding the bike more than others. Nobody else has reported the traction control setting ... I'm just saying ...
      Hope this helps all. Something like this would actually show in the video. Heck, look at the back road I was on. A snatchy throttle would be terrible there That's why it's a test road for us. It's called real riding and real reporting - something I started at the age of 14 years old on dirt bikes for Cycle World. Thank you all!!!

    • @ChipsCooper
      @ChipsCooper 8 років тому

      You are wright about the throttle it sort of reminded me of my Street Triple R just needed to adjust to it but it didn't take long , I filter at low speeds through traffic which is legal where i come from and believe me if the throttle was snatchy or as bad as people say you wouldn't be able to that with any confidence.

    • @robertanthonyfarrell
      @robertanthonyfarrell 8 років тому +2

      The snatchiness varies from bike to bike (I've ridden three different GSXS-1000s and own one). The one I bought was the worst, but this was mostly resolved by adjusting the primary TPS to the correct setting. So not much point arguing over whether it's snatchy or not, as some of them are way worse than others. :)
