My warrior is smokin really bad definitely gonna watch this video while I go mine
How do I know if my cam is upside down when installing?
i’m rebuilding mine but in my kit i have 2 rubber gaskets that seemingly fit ones thicker and one thinner, going with the thinner it peeks over a bit and the thicker just to much for my liking and won’t sit in just confused if i got and extra gasket
gaskets for the head to clarify
Hey man do u gotta take the cam chain sprocket out or can it stay in?
I got a few questions like what torque specs did u use for everything etc I’m 15 and I’m gettin ready to put a Prox piston into my 1998 warrior and I’m just tryin understand
Definitely gotta take the sprocket out. I go over everything (including torque specs) in the video, so just watch it through
so do you just leave the valves loose until you do the timing? and then adjust them? thanks
Yep. I just got them close (a little loose) and then I did a final adjust with the feeler gauge once everything is pretty much back together and you have it at top dead center.
@@ClayRepairs ok thanks!
You bet!
Did you have to use any special tools for anything? I have to break down my top end to replace the piston and not sure where to start for tools and parts. Any help/advice would be great. 🤙🏼
There really aren't any special tools needed to do this, just regular hand tools and an impact gun is handy for taking the cam bolt off. I have links to all the parts in the description so check those out too.
And one thing that helps me is to take some notes as you go through the video
@@ClayRepairs sounds good thank you! Much appreciated haha wish me luck
Yeah, and feel free to ask me any questions when you get into it
@@ClayRepairs you by chance remember how you got the bolt the holds the timing chain sprocket in place off? I can’t seem to get it
I used an impact gun with a screwdriver stuck through one of the holes on the sprocket to hold it. If you don't have one, maybe try the same thing with a ratchet or a wrench and you could hit it with a hammer. Also remember threadlock when putting it back on!
Need urgent help, tore my top end to replace my piston and when i put my top end back together the flywheel wont turn over neither does the timing chain, when my top end isnt on i can move my flywheel by hand and see the piston budge but when i put the top end back nothing. NEED URGENT HELP
Did you time the camshaft with the crankshaft? It's possible the piston is hitting the valves causing it not to turn over
The mark on the cam gear should line up with a mark on the head like at 13:48 Also make sure the crankshaft/piston is a top dead center like at 13:52
@@ClayRepairs yeah everything is perfectly alligned and timed. Thats what i dont understand
How did the eBay rockers and can hold up? You mentioned the bearings were trash?
So far they've held up good, over a year on the rebuild and still running good
@@ClayRepairs sweet!
@@ClayRepairsdidn’t like the bearings though?
Ya I just reused the stock ones, the aftermarket ones were not good
Hey clay I’m back again in rebuilding the bike today and not my cam chain isn’t spinning over it’s just crankin if u shoot me a text on Facebook or my number I can show u a video of it crankin
Umm do I know you?
need a different mic or something sounds like Ur underwater ..
I know. 😂 that was the last video I recorded with my built-in phone mic. Now I have a nice external mic, it's in my latest video
