  • In this video I diagnosed and replaced the valve guide seals as well as the head gasket on my Yamaha Warrior 350.
    I apologize for the bad audio due to my fingers rubbing against the GoPro. This will be the last video I upload that was recorded on my GoPro, so my future videos wont sound this bad.
    Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions. I would be happy to answer them!

    Dude I’m about to do this on my 99. She’s alittle Smokey on start up but she compression tested about 128 psi so I’m just going seals and maybe the 366 zoom zoom in the winter.

    Can you list the measurements of the valve spring removal tool that you made out of PVC please?

    Hi, does valves seals replacement have stop oil burning? Mine have 120psi compression and burning oil too...

    • @everythingmechanical_yt
      @everythingmechanical_yt  3 роки тому +3

      Yes! Usually if the valve guide seals are leaking, it will only smoke and burn a significant amount of oil when the engine is cold. If your engine still smokes when it is warm, it is possible that just the oil ring is bad.

      @everythingmechanical_yt  3 роки тому +2

      On these engines, it's also very easy to replace the piston rings on. They are only about $40 from Yamaha and take just a couple hours to install. I have a video up on how to do this on my Yamaha Wolverine wich uses the same top end. You can also view the video of where I rebuilt the engine on this quad and installed new rings in it. Let me know if this helps!

      @everythingmechanical4638 hey on mine it revs really high in neutral when warm but once I put it in gear it goes back down

    How did you remove the head bolts I'm having a horrible time taking putting them on I got my quad with half the engine out so have no clue?

    • @everythingmechanical_yt
      @everythingmechanical_yt  2 роки тому +1

      You should be able to just unscrew them and pull them out. It may be tricky to get around the frame but they should slide out

    • @92Warrior350
      @92Warrior350 10 місяців тому

      Start with the two back ones, the ones closer to the back of the quad they slide out easy then do the one on the left side for the last one u need to play with ur head and swivel it around a little and itll pop out

    Just did mine, why is the chain so tight against the front guide! Right?! Doesn't make sense.

    • @everythingmechanical_yt
      @everythingmechanical_yt  3 роки тому +1

      I know! This one actually wasn't too bad, but on my wolverine (same top end) it was so tight it seemed like it was in wrong.

      The exhaust side cam chain guide is not in the right spot. The head needs to be lifted about an inch so the guide can be pushed into a groove in the head. Then set the head back down and re torque. In the video the chain guide is outside its grove.

      Replacing the piston rings and value guide seals is in this video, however if you're looking for a video on how to replace your piston rings without taking the engine out of the quad, I have a video doing it on a yamaha wolverine 350, wich uses the same top end, so everything is the same

    Where is the oil ring located?

    • @wifie9321
      @wifie9321 Рік тому

      Underneath the compression rings on the piston.
      He would have to pull the whole top end apart for that.
