Actually, the Trial of the Joker could be a great sequel.
The people vs Arthur Fleck coming soon to HBO and later on DVD and Blu-ray.
rashomon-style! yeah!
Basically, it would be sequel to 12 Angry Man.
It worked for Billy Jack.
Pretty boring law drama... Like 'Law and Order' but over two hours long
This Lawyer sounds like he's a Big DC fan
he really is! It didn't make the cut, but there was a part where he talked about moving the trial to Coast City
@@BillyBusiness 😶 whoa this has so many layers, bummer that discussion was cut. I would like to hear more
@@BillyBusiness where did you see the uncut version?
4 CZNZ I was the one that did the interview in person
@@BillyBusiness ....are you serious? How can we trust you?
A friend of mine is a discrimination lawyer, I called her after she saw the movie and she said these exact same things except that she suggested that even though you would like to take him out of Gotham, considering how many people rioted in his image and agreed with his frustrations, you might get more sympathetic Jurors in Gotham. They are the one populace in the country who will believe and understand all the abuse and violence he experiences regularly. My point is PLEASE DO MORE OF THIS. I LOVE THIS.
Cool. What if they feature Arthur´s Fleck trial on the first half of the Joker sequel. And regardless of the vote, he will have many supporters who´ll prevent him from going to prison.
Man, it would be like Dark Knight with all the lawyers and anarchy and I´m so up for that
Should have gotten Harvey Dent to defend him
Harvey Dent is Bruce Wayne's friend but I don't think he's going to protect the Joker ever since he set him up.
Stop pitching interesting sequels! I want this now!
But can we trust him?
I'm sure he'd see both sides of the argument.
What about Matt Murdock?
I love that Fandom is going above film critiques, they clearly care about making interesting and good content
Yeah, I like the cool new things they're doing
I would watch the trial of the Joker movie!
We nearly had it. It was what Nolan wanted for the third movie but he had to change it because of the real life drama
That would make for a good sequel.
@@JohnBainbridge0 villians within Batman's rogues gallery sitting in the court. Time has passed, Joker has been locked up for years, making it thru his sentencing.
But it would be amazing to see the atmosphere change from each person's perspective. Anyone who knew Joker before his shift to being the clown. To even anyone affected by his actions.
That would be fascinating to watch
@@palaniuki we kinda got it sans Joker, the "Kangaroo Court" in TDKR was probably like a part of what Nolan had originally planned for that made it into the final film anyway. How else do you explain that bizarre ass choice of scenario in the movie? Like all of a sudden scarecrow has people walking on ice? Like wtf lok
palaniuki I still wish they did a little tribute to him in TDKR. It could be as simple as one of Bane’s men telling him that they released everyone in Arkham except one guy who was too crazy or something
Be careful, you guys are gonna get Legal Eagle to file a lawsuit against you for this video.
Stephen H. Legal Eagle was my first thought too. Joker would totally get tackled by the bailiff, lol 😂
#CrossOver now
Isn't he a corporate lawyer?
Legal Eagle should be the prosecutor against this guy. That would be a great crossover.
Gonna be clear with you, this was brilliant content. I freaking loved this. You deserve the ad revenue. And my subscription.
They deserve more than what they’re getting. 😭
Right? Loved it
same, thankful I goth the recommendation from Honest Trailers
a.k.a. Power Levels: The People vs. Arthur Fleck.
Correction: The Society vs. Arthur Fleck
Arthur uses Live TV murder. A riot starts. It's super effective!
@@knightofanguish7399 how about The Woke Society vs. Arthur Fleck
We a need video of a Psychiatrist evaluating Harley Quinn next
Well, then I can promise we're not going to let you down. -joe
Specially after reading the Harleen series
This was really interesting to think about and watch. I like that Screen Junkies/Fandom Entertainment get to explore other types of projects that interest them. One of the benefits of not having to do a weekly movie fights. I'd love to see more videos of this type.
Alex Delgado Hello, I was just wondering if you know this is just a show? Nothing prophetic or/and philosophically meaningful. It is just a show. No real villian (the joker)or judge ,or caring social worker etc. because it is just a show. I am not questioning the show, but your sense of reality.Plus just seeing ifin you have a sense of humor.
I know you guys were super excited to do Power Levels, but this content is what I'm more into from you guys. One of my favorites, especially, is the panel you had to discuss the legal and social ramifications of everyone returning from the blip in Avengers.
David I love that one too!
Kindly share link to it, I can't seem to find it
Kipruto Bett it was on the main channel:
ua-cam.com/video/n58qukrgdXQ/v-deo.html
Where is that video? It sounds interesting.
"Being angry because someone kicks you, does not give you the right to shoot them in the back" Damn
Ted That sounds like a closing statement.
@@Tigerman1138 I can't even remember what I was trying to get out by quoting that
So i have to stop doing that?
This man can play himself in the next Joker movie.
He is gunning for a sequel and DC and WB are not to willing for one so far.
I'm pretty sure Batman would not approve of any of this.
Ahmer Khan Batman was like 12
Batman is also a criminal in his own right that hoards knowledge, technique and technology that would revolutionize police work, claiming that he can't ask people to get involved while recruiting literal child soldiers and leaving woefully underequipped beat cops stuck in the meat grinder. Batman does what he does for his own sake.
sorry to say but a vigilante is hardly in position to decide what is right or wrong to begin with since he takes the law in to his own hands and such things quite frowned upon by any national law enforcement with any self respect..
@@silverblade357 "hoards knowledge, technique and technology that would revolutionize police work". Why do you think tony stark didnt give his ironman tech to the government when asked to during the senate hearing? or even gave the "schematic" of his arc reactor to everyone where they can use it to power their home?
@@batahangaw6667 Forget the much less advanced technology then. Batman is constantly ten steps ahead of any other trained expert involved in law enforcement or criminology because of what he pieced together over his decade abroad. How much more good could he do if he told them what they were doing wrong, where they were wasting time and how he keeps outpacing them? Batman could teach ten people how he breaks down his rogues gallery and Gotham would probably sleep sounder. Seriously, is there any alternate universe where Bruce Wayne comes home with tons of knowledge and just runs for mayor on a crush crime platform? I feel like that'd be easy to write.
If they do a sequel, they should totally do a trial scene at the beginning where Arthur gets out scot-free
@CryoWing: IRL - Guilty, but criminally insane. Thank you, Counselor Ridley for clarifying the difference between crazy/stupid.
CryoWing And could link into how fucked up/corrupt Gotham’s criminal system is in terms of plot
like the zodiac killer in dirty harry
The Lawyer really seems to be giving this the perfect level of seriousness it deserves, very well made video.
I submit that Arthur is not the subway shooter. He testifies to firing a total of eight shots from a five-shot .38 revolver, and to wearing clown make-up, when witness testimony clearly and confidently states that the shooter wore a clown mask.
That could just be a writing/screenplay mistake
@@mk6rfc1 Pretty boring take. "Could be" doesn't mean much, and mistakes aren't very interesting. There's enough doubt deliberately sown throughout the film that it's not unreasonable to consider that these "mistakes" may, in fact, be intentional. I think we're meant to question the reality of...pretty much everything in the movie.
You know our bar for mental health defense is absurd when the fictional super villain whose main superpower is being the embodiment of inexplicable insanity isn’t insane enough to merit the defense.
the Fallon burn at the end
Joker 2 starts with Arthur getting community service and probation
I was thinking a pardon from a deranged president, who doesn't have a problem with talk show hosts being shot.
Wow, those sentences seemed real low considering the guy violently killed at least 6 people & showed no remorse. Even though 25 - life sounds bad couldn't he be out in half that for good behavior? Good video Danielle & Mr.Ridley, thanks.
The lawyer says "courts these days." This video looks at the movie through modern law. Joker is a period piece set in the 80s.
Therefore, how much of this is actually valid to Arthur's case?
A lot of the legal principles this guy is talking about hasn't really changed because they're pretty basic (self-defense, degrees of murder, insanity defense test) so they should still be valid.
I like that fandom is doing different content that doesnt have to rely on doing deep fakes
You guys are so awesome. 😭
At first I thought you hired a lawyer to defend the movie.
meloD30 😭😭😭😭
Whoa the OJ jurors were sequestered for 265 days, talk about cruel and unusual treatment. I did find it amusing to hear the attorney say that he would move the court trial outside the Gotham jurisdiction, maybe to Metropolis. Nice!
Make a sequel about the Joker's trial, with Harvey Dent as the attorney
This IRL series is AWESOME! PLEASE GIVE US MORE!!!
These are the fun surprises. I'm so glad you guys get to do these things.
Got to go watch Joker again
Keep up the primo content Fandem
this was awesome. a great idea for some unique content. loved that the lawyer made a couple of comic book references
Awesome. You are incredible Danielle.
His serious maybe even metropolis is so adorable... I love this guy... I hope they work with his on another series
Really liked this video. Y’all need to do more content like this.
This was actually very cool! My first thought would be that Joker has zero chance of getting anything but life in prison... yet people who do horrible crimes get their sentences reduced all the time. Listening to the lawyer describe the way he'd defend him was pretty eye opening. And why selecting the jury takes so long. I always wondered about that.
More of these please!!!
We've got a few more coming in the next couple of weeks!
You guys make the best content on UA-cam!!
Love this kinda video!! I would love more videos like this, talking about the law in film!
i love it how hes still in dc character when he said to move the trial from gotam to metropolis...proves the man is a big movie fan
This was great. Looking forward to more content like this. Keep up the good work broadening the horizons gang.
I need this guy in my corner.
This was so interesting and so well put together. Please make more content like this!
This was great. Very insightful into the real world repercussions.
Wow! This was really interesting and informative. Thanks for taking the time to make this great content! 👍🏻
Y'all should so more of these
Great idea for short series on the Channel
I was waiting for this type of video for months 👍🏼
Check out a channel called legal eagle. He does a bunch of tv shows and a couple films like bee movie.
very interesting video, was not expecting such content from this channel, great job !
This video is awesome. More lawyer stuff please!
Wow!!This was awesome!you should keep in touch with him as commentary on crime drama films!
Yeah Fallon will have anyone on. They could have an uncontrollable laugh off. Really like this video. Entertaining and informative, my favorite kind. Much Love!
This.. was an unexpected gem. Keep it up with the innovative content
Great video guys keep up the good work!
I'm so down for more of this
I cant believe you legitimately made me laugh with that Jimmy Fallon burn at the end. Reminds me of that joker shooting ellen meme
I would have loved to see some courtroom sketches spliced into the video. Or even the cover image. Next time maybe. =) Great segment. I love the IRL stuff guys.
This was an awesome episode!
Shooting someone who kicked you, in the back is "unfortunately indefensible"?
Quite fortunate actually.
came here to look for this comment.
I was watching the video and going like: "what does he mean unfortunately???"
Great job ,really entertaining.
What an awesome, unique idea, great content as always.
AWESOME VOICE OVER WORK
Turnabout Laughter-
Oh wait, sorry, that was my attempt for an Ace Attorney related comment
Remember, this is Gotham. Arthur's got this!
Can we get this guy defending the Joker for his actions in "The killing Joke" (comic, not movie). I'd like to see those legal gymnastics.
Dang. More videos like this please!
Great video
Maybe Fallon.
Finally, my Poli-Sci degree comes into play! Meaning, I guess, I didn't learn much. LOL
Except that this vid pretty much nailed it (skipping over the Joker's clown friend murder), and that this team rocks a Hell of a video and Danielle Radford can narrate all my dreams if she wants. Good show!
Duh, he would be put in a high security hospital for the criminally insane where he would escape and then have to be arrested by Batman again.
Batman doesn’t exist in this world though, Bruce is just a kid
The "maybe Fallon" joke caught me off guard...because you're right.
Great Content!!
Great video! Loved the lawyer's point of view.
Danielle flexing her paralegal muscles 💪
I really like this video. It is very cool to see Danielle flex her paralegal muscles. :)
This is really interesting.
More like this please! with the same lawyer!
Super interesting and well worth watching! 🎉😊
So basicly this lawyer helps really bad guys to get less jail time. Wonderful guy
Needs to be an episode about a trial of Batman, one that includes the effect his vast wealth would have on the trial outcome.
Fascinating, I didn't know most of this info. So that's some of the reasons trails can take so long...
Wonderful vid, I like this.
Doug Ridley ~ "Arthur was a product of Gotham & Gotham made the Joker."
*This quote also applies to both Batman and his villains.
Idea for a sequel: Harvey Dent prosecutes Arthur. Name for the movie: "Two-Face"
Interesting episode, chief.
Awesome
Nice! Lawyer knows his DC comics. Nice mention of Metropolis!
2:42 "We all make mistakes in the heat of passion, Jimbo."
He knows his comic books.
He "better call saul" for justice
I love this, it’s so interesting.
HAHAHHAHHA what even is this gift? This is fucking phenomenal ❤️
It's worth noting that an insanity defense is not a "get out of jail free" card. Being labeled as criminally insane is no joke. There are prisons that double as insane asylums, and you don't get out unless a psychologist says you can, which almost never happens.
Awesome, glad to see Danielle's skills shine. great work y'all
That conclusion was such a cop-out. "Depending on how things go, he could face anywhere from probation and community service to 25 years to life." So, sentencing may very wildly depending on what he gets convicted with? What a shocking revelation!
It's literally a summary of the entire video....depending on what the conviction is, if the lawyer can get a lesser charge, that's the range. It's all there...
Can you (if you haven’t already) do more of these please? Iv always wanted to know what would happen to detective mills at the end of Seven
Will you please enable the automatic captions?
Is there a screen junkies Oscar thing I need to be watching right now, I only ask cause I can’t find it
Some of the points the ottorney makes against joker has me like
" lol now tell that to police officers. Maybe then they'd reform"
this was interesting but probably the first 8 minutes of it were pretty basic defenses that most people could've thought of themselves without any sort of law degree.. last two minutes were where it really got interesting. would've loved to have seen an hour long video of this guy discussing how he'd defend Arthur
I love the fact he knows his shit when it comes to the DC Universe ;)
OMG, if Joker was a Black character, he would have got the electric chair a long time ago.
