Your channel has changed my nail/skin health completely. So much bad information exists out there and I was doing so many things wrong until I found your channel.
@@cinderella6382 hii I do soak off gel mani on a regular basis (once every 7-10 days) and my nails are fine following anna’s advice. For me the key was not buffing my nails before applying the gel, still the manicure last and the nails than grow is super healthy
OMG Mavala. My mother used it as far back as I can remember back to the 1960's. And yes, she attended beauty school! This channel is life changing thank you so much! That's me! Brittle and I almost ordered Mavala which is the opposite of what I need!
I completely agree with the previous comments. What a discovery this channel! My nails with allergy damage from 10 years ago that have not yet fully recovered, in a very short time thanks to your videos they have experienced a very significant improvement. For me the best of all advice is to keep the nails short, especially if they are still damaged. Patience, listen to someone who advises so well and with so much knowledge and affection and I'm sure I'll be able to show them off again without shame. Many, many thanks.🌷
Love the Stardust! I just discovered your channel and recently had my Shellac taken off. I watched one of your manicure videos and did my own nails which are of course damaged due to the electric file used by the manicurist. My nails look so much better, minus any polish, and it’s only been a week since the Shellac was taken off. I also got little bottles of nail oil for my bathroom, kitchen and vanity table. Great tutorials!
I've got my bottle of nail oil next to the sink & since I see it sitting there it's been much easier to apply it after washing my hands. Prior to this I'd maybe remember to use it randomly during the day & I'm starting to notice a difference in my proximal nail fold. I still need to get the correct type of Kerasal but I'm liking this upward trend!!! Your channel has been amazingly helpful, so informative & you are so patient when it comes to explaining the why behind (for example) not pushing back the proximal nail fold.
It is so refreshing to see someone that seems genuinely intrusted in the health of people's nails. Almost every other nail technician i've seen does not seem interested, No matter how long I have gone to them. I love that you pay attention to the details of every 3 bit of your nail structure. And how all these things can affect it. I don't think it's overdone at all I think it is necessary. I'm still not sure exactly what i'm allergic to, But I believe that if I can figure it out. I will be able to put artificial nails on without a problem if I can avoid those specific products. That caused me a problem.
I’m so grateful to you and your channel. It’s been life changing information. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I purchased Dazzle Dry through your link awhile back and am blown away by it. I can’t believe how long it lasts yet how easy it is to remove. It’s amazing. I ❤️ it!
Love watching you do your weekly manicure. Really appreciate your attention to detail! (Love the cake and pancake comparisons). After my weekly manicure including a warm oil soak, I now wait until the following day before applying Essie Glow and Shine. I do think it makes a difference. I really liked your right hand polish.
I love both polish colors, but Golden Hour is beautiful. I have learned so much in the past 2 weeks since discovering your site. My nail fold is slowly improving. I have ordered several products to begin healing my damaged nails.
I love the one on the right especially. But both of those colors are beautiful! I just did my manicure while watching yours.😊 It takes me a lot longer, you are so quick! I started out with the OPI Repair, but when I was all done, I did a looong hot oil soak. I won’t polish until Monday.
Hello from Norway Anna! I've learned so much from your videos, followed all your advice, and my nails have never been better. The difference between the proximal fold and the cuticle, the gentle manicure, oil after each hand wash (after all, I'd never wash my face without putting on some type of moisturizer after, makes such sense). I rarely wear nail polish, and the oils seem to benefit the nails also - no splitting or breaking, even less ridges. Would have included a photo, but lacking the technical knowhow. So thank you ever so much! Also, I've found a really good way of cleaning under nails - an old electric toothbrush head on your electric toothbrush, cleans all dirt with it's rotating head. Regards Bitten
Hi Anna! What a wonderful video! I have a few questions; 1. When should you do a warm oil soak, before or after using the OPI Repair Mode? 2. Is there any product or treatment that will help reduce the number of ridges that form or reduce their depth ? 3. What can be done to eliminate the white spots that form? Are they solely from consistently wearing polish? Thank you! Anna, you are a legend!
Love your channel and have learned so much about my damaged nails that became that way due to years of buffing weekly. I have some pronounced ridges on my thumb nail and big toenail and really would bare down on those with the nail files. I knew nothing about warm oil soaks or the fact that one or twice a week or less putting oil on your nails will not really help them either as you need to be consistent. Thank you for all you bring to us as I learn something each time I watch. I am undecided but have to go with Stardust only for the point you mentioned it is a small but smoother and I love a very smooth nail. ❤❤
Hi Anna, nice video. Those Dazzle dry nail polish color are so beautiful 🤩. I also like it a lot that the nail polish dry’s quite fast. And because of this color it doesn’t show much chipping. Both colors looks so nice on you’re nails, difficult to chose the favorite color 😂. The Golden Hour should have to be back in stock.
Thank you for this great detailed video. I’m transitioning from gel nails with a lot of damage and am gathering all the products you recommend. I love both colors, they’re each unique with a different result. Thank you for all you share with us Anna!!
When using the OPI Repair Mode is it okay to do the 10 minute oil soaks? For instance, during the 6 days of consecutive use, is there a better time to do the oil soaks (before/after using OPI Repair Mode)? I do an oil soak several times a week. Thank you helping us better our nails. 🙂
I would love see Golden Hour as a regularly stocked color! I think it's a great idea to suggest these more interesting polishes, as compared to clear, for people with damaged nails or beginner manicure skills. I might try Stardust as a topper for Livin La Vida Yoga.
I've used the OPI repair mode 6 days as instructed and afterwards my nails started peeling and splitting like never before. I don't know if there's something in there that my nails can't seem to handle. I can't think of any other reason why this suddenly happened. Anyway, hope it will recover, because this is looking really bad.
The stardust is very pretty. I have to say I had quite damaged nails. Going quite a while back to when I had a powder nail and then gel polish. After that I had polished my own thinking I needed to keep them covered because they were in such bad condition. I suppose I kept them in a vicious cycle. Until…I found your channel! I began with the oils and dazzle dry and lotions. I have to say when I found the OPI Repair mode they really began to change also I stopped using acetone. My nails are now so beautiful I’m not sure I want to polish them 😆 thank you!!
I’m trying to grow out my nails and I’m going to be following your tips, but I want them long and I’m gonna do stuff like wear strengthening nail polish and use OPI repair mode and nail oil. I’m just gonna go with it and see how it works and see if I can get my nails more flexible so that I can keep them long.
I've been working on my nails for a month and they are transformed! By nudging back my proximal nail folds daily, my nail beds are so much longer! Unfortunately I had an accident chopping veggies this week (content note: description of nail injury) and lost a few millimetres of fingertip and nailbed. It's nothing that won't eventually grow back, but when I compare my progress pics, I think if I hadn't been on this journey the knife would have landed much lower the nail bed and even hurt the nail matrix, giving me a much lower chance of regrowing a normal nail. However grateful I was for your advice before, it's nothing compared to now.
Hi Anna, I’ve done really well, growing out all the damage and following all your tips (weekly home manicures, no buffing, hot oil treatments etc). My nails are short and squoval and in the best shape they’ve ever been in. I am going on holiday soon and want something to last - eg gel/ Shellac - but dread going back to square one, having the surface of my nails roughed up again. If I avoid places that use a drill and ask a nail tech to just buff the minimum and as gently as possible will this be ok, do you think? Thanks, Steph
I wanted to share that. My nails are very extremely healthy and strong. Since i've been using main entail hand and nail lotion. I've noticed I have no tearing or chipping of my nail, And I don't even see my cuticle growing out anymore as if it's part of my nail. No so I don't need to remove it. My nail plate is very smooth. And looks great Since using this lotion. I have not needed cuticle oil but I did add some today to my cuticles. I would like to also add that I've had allergy problems with. I believe it's primer for the acrylic and jail nails. I bought a low acid primer, Is this helped somewhat. But then after several fills of nails at a salon. My nail plate lifted off my nail bed, I got moisture under my nail and got nail fungus under one of my nails. It has healed it's been about 6 months since then. I just have my natural nails right now, But i'm considering doing artificial nails again because I love the length, shape, and how well the polish stays on. I've heard technicians be very rough with my cuticle, To the point where at times they nick did with the drill bit going extremely fand it started bleeding. Then applied product doing my nails.
My nails are also in this state from many years of wearing acrylics. I have removed acrylics 5 months ago waiting for my nails to grow out. With them in this state as you show at the beginning of the video, is it better to keep polish on them? Or leave them without polish and keep up with the oils after each hand washing and the Kerasal? Thanks love your information!!
Anna, I'm a little confused about your comments on the OPI repair. You show in the video that you put it on and then you give yourself a manicure including polish but in your description of it you talk about using it three times a day on bare nails. So is it a product that you can use under your base coat and lacquer or is it only something to be used on dry bare nails?
First week you can use it 2x a day for 6 days and keep the nails bare. Then use it weekly :). And you can polish your nails if you want to. Hope this helps :))
Anna, I am a huge fan of you and your channel. I have learned invaluable information about nails from both you and Doug. You are simply amazing! I actually purchased a nail consultation with you because my nails are very fragile and difficult. I have to still send my pictures in as well as a synopsis. I promise, I will do that soon. In this video, what is the grit of the nail buffer you used? Thanks so much again for all your knowledge and amazing content.
Hello Jennifer! Thank you so much for your kind message! I recommend a buffer 220 to 320 but some buffers that are 180 grit can be fine too, it depends on the brand too. Looking forward to your photos :))
Thank you for all the amazing advice! I have ridges in most of my nails and no matter what I do, clip or file, they always have some splitting and peeling at the free edge. Do you have any tips for this? Many times my polish will chip or flake off in these areas.
Thanks for sharing your useful and life changing tips! I have been following your tips and my nails are so far 50% better. I have the UBS nail treatment how is that compared to the Opi repair. I would like to keep the UBS since it was not cheap but if its not as good …..
Thanks, SO much, I really needed help with my damaged nails. Although I watched the video on Catrice & you showed how it had a healing effect. Where canI purchase that product? Namaste, Yoga Kat Arizona USA
Although my nails are short, I always use a nail brush to scrub underneath my nails. What is your recommendation for cleaning my nail scrubbers and clippers? Should I be using alcohol each time I use the scrubbers and the clippers? Also, I noticed that you are filing to shorten the length of your nailand not clipping them with a nail clipper. Is clipping your nails with a nail clipper more damaging than filing them to get a shorter length?
Anna, can I please ask about rinsing off/neutralising the cuticle remover… I use CND Cuticle Away and their instructions suggest it should be left on the nail while we remove the cuticle, then wash off at the end. Would you recommend I don’t do this but instead just use it the same way you use the Blue Cross? Thank you 🙏🏻
Do you happen to know why the corners of the thumbs would dry out after just regularly painting my nails and doing pedicures I've always had healthy nails cuticles etc. So I'm confused. Would appreciate any help . Thanks loved the video too!! Had to do it in sections haha 😂
My nails got super damaged from gel extensions removal. Now its all broken and the skin around it dry that im scared it wont grow back like it was they all short theres no white part even. Is it possible to fix 💔💔???
Hello, no, it's not possible to fix the damage. The damage has to grow out. Please check out my channel, I have multiple videos on how to care for damaged nails and what to generally do..
I hope that there's a solution to this ...but I believe I've over filed my nails with an electronic sander thingy 😅 & towards the top of my nail it's like a dip or dent in each of them. Will this go away?? Or am I screwed 😭
Your content is so helpful. However, I have not had success with Dazzle Dry. I bought a mini starter set and then several of the mini colors. In about a year, several of the smaller color bottles thickened or completely dried up. Anyone else run into this issue with Dazzle Dry? I have had other brands thicken a little but not dry up. Caps are tight.
Dazzle Dry does dry out quickly. That's how it dries so quickly on your nails. Dazzle Dry makes a product called REVIVE. You can add Revive to everything except the base coat to thin them to the desired consistency. Revive is good stuff.
Yes, it's a nail polish brand from USA. It's pretty unique though. It doesn't contain nitrocellulose which can contribute to surface damage and yellowing of the nails. I find that it's quite gentle on the nails. 👉 Why polish yellows nails. Chemist explains bit.ly/3QSkU2O
@@TheSalonLife My Mom had yellow nails and I wouldn't do my nails for years due to her nails and the way they looked She also smoked but still I think it was polish all those years. I'm new to mail work and I find your videos very helpful I have healthy nails 💅🏻 but they are very weak the bend and break off easy even in clothing etc.
Dazzle Dry has discontinued soooo many colors. XOXO… not my fave, DD has sooo many pinks, I wish they brought back Be Mine. I understand they are very concerned about each and every ingredient but personally I’d like to see more trendy finishes ( jellies, crellies, holographic) and more mid tones, brights and deep colors that look like a color vs looking black, like many of their darker colors do.
Me, personally no. But I apply oil and lotion pretty much each time I wash my hands. But everyone has different needs. When the nails are damaged they are more prone to more damage from water and detergents. When they are undamaged they have "built-in" protection :)
I could swear you said you were located in Canada, getting stuff shipped!! But it says you are located in Spain. Please clarify. I'm located in Canada and sometimes getting stuff shipped from Europe is impossible. I prefer the second polish, I'm not fond of the big flakes.

Thank you 🙏🏻
What products do you recommend for use in Ireland? I have peeling brittle nails.
Great video Anna. Thank you. ❤❤❤
You may have covered this already in a video but what hand soap do you recommend people use at home?
Please bring back Golden Hour!!
Very helpful video! Thank you❤️
You're so welcome!
Do you happen to know why the corners of the thumbs would dry out after just regularly painting my nails and doing pedicures I've always had healthy nails cuticles etc. So I'm confused. Would appreciate any help . Thanks loved the video too!! Had to do it in sections haha 😂
Right hand is good for daily it’s pretty
Do you know if there us a similar product to kerasal in Australia? I cant seem to find it.
I wish I could afford the dazzle dry 😭
Would Essie be a good alternative?
Also… LOVE the right hand
What is the little white block you used for buffing the tips.
You can really use any soft buffer block (about 240 grit). Check out this short video

I hope that there's a solution to this ...but I believe I've over filed my nails with an electronic sander thingy 😅 & towards the top of my nail it's like a dip or dent in each of them. Will this go away?? Or am I screwed 😭
Well, no, the damage should grow out :)

Да, мне нравится покрытие га правой кисти
How is opi repair mode compared to cnd rescue rxx?..
But didn’t you just wash off the OPI Repair Mode when you rinsed off the BC Cuticle Remover?
I do like the golden hour.
It's just so frustrating that we can't buy Dazzle Dry in the UK 😢
It's understandable :)
Loooooove the stardust 🤩
❤ What's Dazzle Dry? Is it just a nail polish brand 💅🏻?
OPI repair mode left my nails in worse condition! They became textured, and you could see what looked like a chain link fence on each nail.
Thank you for your feedback!
Stardust looks even prettier ❤
Very informative
Thank you :))
Blue Cross and Pushy! I am in heaven.
yesssss!!!!!
I am not a guy, but I like the colour on your right hand better.
Do you wear gloves for washing dishes?
Me, personally no. But I apply oil and lotion pretty much each time I wash my hands.
But everyone has different needs. When the nails are damaged they are more prone to more damage from water and detergents.
When they are undamaged they have "built-in" protection :)
Bring back golden hour!
Thank you!!!!!
Correction IBX system not UBS
I could swear you said you were located in Canada, getting stuff shipped!! But it says you are located in Spain.
Please clarify. I'm located in Canada and sometimes getting stuff shipped from Europe is impossible.
I prefer the second polish, I'm not fond of the big flakes.
Hi There. We were in Canada and have since relocated to Spain. Thanks :)
❤❤❤
Way too long. Interesting though.
