Push back cuticles (maybe proximal nail fold?) 7. Clip cuticle, not proximal nail fold 8. Clean dead skin around and under nail. 9. Repeat 6-8 on next foot Thank you!!!
I recently found your channel and I’m so happy I did! My nails were ruined by years of gel and acrylic applications, and with your guidance, they are finally getting healthy again. I’m starting to do my own pedicures, too. Your tutorials are wonderful and so helpful, no bells and whistles. I’ve learned so much! Thank you. Ciao!
I always appreciate seeing you give a nail treatment with the exact same tools I have! I bought the stainless steel tool you feature and it's the best instrument for cleaning toes. Thank you for the inspiration, I'll be giving myself a fresh pedi tomorrow, can't wait!
Oh boy you said it around the 16 minutes mark. I gave my cousin a pedicure recently and I thought she had ingrown toenails, although she claimed they didn't hurt. Some cuticle softener and gentle work with the pick end of mu cuticle tool later revealed that it wasn't ingrown, just so heavily compacted with dry calloused skin that it bent the sidewalls of her toenails in. Lord have mercy
Dazzle dry definetely is so much better for not staining nails. I've always worn dark colours on toes - black or very dark wine. When I was wearing regular polish my toenails were stained yellowish but since switching to the Dazzle Dry colour Forbidden Passion, I was so happy when I remove it and see how nice my nails still look ❤ lasts so well too
Awesome video!!! I greatly appreciate your idea of documenting this, I've watched thousands of hours in the year and a half that i started my nail tech journey and i don't like to settle for hearsay so i look and look for the science behind anything I'm learning and i hardly have found trustworthy info such as this project u are posting, looking forward to finish the rest of this project's video 👍💯👏
My feet are so ugly that I won’t go for pedicures any more; I do the best I can at home ;-( Just love watching you work and seeing the end result. Thanks for teaching us!
Thank you for your videos. They are so satisfying to watch and so informative. I’m new to nail stuff and have been binge watching to learn how to take care of my nails. It’s the little things that make you feel pretty and confident again. Thanks!!
Great video, thanks both, really helpful and informative. I'm not a nail professional but I give my mum pedicures (and sometimes my partner) as she can no longer do them herself due to her age and health, so this is really helpful. I'd also like to ask what Anna has on her nails in this video? I really like the natural but still 'taken care of' look that it gives. Thanks!
Saw the clippers you use and immediately ran to Amazon to get my own. Very neat, looking Forward to working with them! Thank you for the introduction 😉❤️
Please check out this video. The link to the clippers is in the description box. I love love love these clippers. I will be doing a video of doing my own pedicure today :). I also walk a lot. The key is to do pedicures more often. I do mine every 2 weeks and exfoliate the heels etc every week, very quick swipe in a shower. And Kerasal after a shower.
First thank you, ive always knew the difference in prox and cuticle was Ave the difference but you help me understand how to separate abs but push everything together so to speak and it may not be me it may be the foot needs multiple pedicures or a peditrice.
great video as usual. glad you mentioned the erica file doesnt bend. i'll have to try one someday. i have a diamancel file which bends easily, but i love because its thin. cant wait to see if mr salon life's nails will be discolored or not in a few months
What are the tiny little "fins" on the sides of my big toenail? They grow under the side ridge. Do I clip them? Are they excess cuticle, or nail outside of the nail bed?
The excavator tool used in this video is not the same tool sold on Erica's website. I'm trying to find one exactly like the one used. Can you provide a link Anna ?
I heard you say that doing your own pedicures is a bit troublesome, so do you still do them yourself or do you get them done? I ask because I love getting pedicures but I hate when they are not done correctly and I seem to always suffer from ingrown toenails!
Hello Anna, really enjoy all your videos-very informative! Thank you. Would you be so kind as to tell me where I can find the excavator tool ? Seems like a must for cleaning and mot hurting. Thank you!
Hi R. Ch. That depends on so many factors. The best thing I could suggest is experiment with different positions and find what works best for you. Thanks so much :)
Hello, I recommend doing ideally every 2 weeks. If you are doing it yourself. This way there is barely anything to do and the pedicure is fast and easy.
Hi Glenda, fungal infection is a medical condition and as a nail tech I can only provide cosmetic advice and cosmetic treatments. Here is more into from an MD. ua-cam.com/video/o-7hcf2Wuk4/v-deo.html
The Sainsbury's nail file is similar. Both sides are fine grit, the file is thin, and it doesn't bend. You get two in a pack. It's cheaper than branded files, but it's better than those I've tried.
Probably no yellowing because of the base coat...? I wish I had his toenails. They are perfectly formed. Thank you for this tutorial. I'm going to buy the pedicure clippers. Looks like they are so much easier to use.
Hi! I learn so much in your videos thank you for all the work😍🔥Which urea cream do you use for pedicure for cracked heels? I looked at your Amazon but its just regular cream (I already have the gehwol salve balm). I purchase the items you are recommending, trust you 100%
Depends on the thickness of the nails. Very thin nails might be able to be cut with cuticle hopper. Most of them not. If you are doing your own toes every 2 weeks just file them. That’s what I do (with my own feet)
I am a runner and I get really hard impacted skin at the edges of my big toe. The trouble is if I try to get rid of it all the skin becomes tender and sensitive.
You are probably digging too hard and injuring that area. It’s not easy to get to it. Try applying Kerasal after each shower so the skin will shed a bit better. And then after you soak your feet use a small brush to brush it out.
Your videos have changed my nail’s life! My poor toes however….Wish I had started watching before I cut my toe proximal folds thinking I was removing the “cuticle”… ended up having a terrible infection on/under my middle toe. I also wore shoes that were way too tight. The nail fully detached (I know….gross 🥲) not much pain really but I hate my feet now. There is a sliver of the new nail coming in- so I still have hope. I’ve been applying Neosporin daily with a bandage. Do you have any advice for people like me? Is there a way to ensure proper regrowth? And how would you go about polish- if that’s possible?
Ouch, I hope it gets better! FYI, in case you are interested, I think she does private consults, there should be a link somewhere or it’s definitely on her website, though this might be more medical. Would be cool to hear her thoughts!
Hi Ashley, you mean probably that you have a lot of hardened skin around your toes. Please use Kerasal every day after a shower. It works incredibly well due to salicylic acid (exfoliant) and urea (moisturising and exfoliating) Kerasal (Amazon) amzn.to/3dy31F7 Kerasal (iHerb) bit.ly/3XCWKvF
Hi Anna and MSL appreciate this video so much. Can you tell me the model number of the Feryes toenail clippers you are using? Thanking you in advance❤️
Hi Robin, unfortunately we don't have any other sources for the diamond files :( Hopefully the fine smooth and fine pattern are back in stock soon. Thanks! - MSL
I am unfamiliar with the brands you are using. I use Zoya and ILNP; with either of these brands, there would be no yellowing (of this I am positive b/c I am one of those who sometimes leaves toe polish on for 6 to 12 weeks -- I promise to do better).
Clear nail polishes have nitrocellulose too, it's nitrocellulose that can yellow the nails. 👉 Why polish yellows nails. Chemist explains bit.ly/3QSkU2O
Hello Linda, I usually include all the links I have in the description box :) I used Erica's Diamond File (medium) bit.ly/3804Wi5 (10% off code: THESALONLIFE)
I think the way you treated the nails will protect them from getting yellow! Big question, how do you get a guy to go with you and get a pedicure too? 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐
The natural nail should not be filed back and forth like that, only artificial nails. when doing nail polish the whole nail plate needs to be buffed to take off the shine so the base coat will adhere to the nail plate.

I use the curved nail clipper similar to the shape used at a podiatrist office. You never have to worry about an ingrown nail.
Can you give some tips on how to grow a damaged small toe ( my 5th toe had been damaged since years) :(
What are the tiny little "fins" on the sides of my big toenail? They grow under the side ridge. Do I clip them? Are they excess cuticle, or nail outside of the nail bed?
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
love ❤ these steps for pedicure.

Just ordered the excavator tool, thanks for this video and the discount code!
Hello Susan, on which site did you buy the excavator tool please? Thank you. This isa great video and well explained.
I purchased from the Erica’s site that is linked in description box.
Hi Sarai! Doing them is a bit uncomfortable but I do them myself :) Filming them is very difficult, maybe that's what I was talking about.
Hello Anna, really enjoy all your videos-very informative! Thank you. Would you be so kind as to tell me where I can find the excavator tool ? Seems like a must for cleaning and mot hurting. Thank you!

Hi Susan, this base coat actually yellowed the nails on that foot. Thats all we used base and top and the nails yellowed. ;(
Thank you so much!!
I would like to know though if it's okay to use 95° alcohol instead of the 99°
Hi Tachena. Anything over 90% is fine :) Thanks! - MSL

Kerasal (Amazon) amzn.to/3dy31F7

Hi! Would a cuticle nipper work the same as that special nail clipper you used when trimming the nails?
Depends on the thickness of the nails. Very thin nails might be able to be cut with cuticle hopper. Most of them not.
If you are doing your own toes every 2 weeks just file them. That’s what I do (with my own feet)
Those diamond nail files are no longer available. Any other recommendations?
Where can I buy the file you are using or any of the products...thank you

The thing used to clean impacted skin under the toe nails, is it a blade or is it sharp?
It's not that sharp, it kind of scoops the debris

Yes, that's why it's called "simple pedicure" aka. "basic" and it's absolutely normal for a human to have hair on their feet.

Hello! Is it sanitary doing a pedicure/manicure without gloves? Seems unprofessional.
Hello Irina, how are you?
I usually use gloves for pedicures but this is my husband. Manicures I often do without gloves. Both I and my client wash hands before the service. I only work on healthy, normal skin and nails and my manicures (and pedicures) are non-invasive so no cutting living skin and I don't work on any open cuts.
Lucky husband.

Probably people who find pedicure videos gross are not watching these videos.
