I can hardly believe that the end result was so beautiful compared with how her nails looked after the removal. Amazing transformation 😍
Thank you so much Gail 🤗
This video should go into the history books. I wonder what they would think in 100 years! If I wasn’t before, I am fully convinced now, that I will never, ever have anything but natural nails. Such an expert at work here. Anna, you know how to do every kind of manicure and at the same time nudging us all so lovingly towards a kinder gentler and more natural way of beautiful nails. Thank you.🌸V
It is so wonderful to feel the passion you have for caring for nails. Your compassion for pickers and nail biters warms my heart. Beautiful transformation!!
Anna, you've done it again! You've worked your special kind of magic- gently, thoughtful, and highly effective nail care. The way you talk your client (and your viewers) through every step so we can all learn your techniques is inspirational. Your client's hands have been transformed.
I love that idea of using Clearly Pink as basically a gel ridge filler! These came out beautiful!
Dear Anna, I have no words to describe how important and perfect is your work😍❣️You are literally saving people not only their nails.. also their health and maybe even their lives. Thank you also for those who still have no idea that they are paying in salons for at least ruining their nails. Thank you also for myself❤️
Lucie, thank you so much for your kind comment. It’s very gratifying to know that I’m making positive difference in someone’s life. Thank you for taking a time to write such kind words. Means a lot❤️
@@TheSalonLife you’re welcome ❤️
I had a gel removal at a salon. The tech took a coarse carbide bit to my natural nail to basically “pick” everything away. I am about a month away from growing out all of the horrid damage. My nails were so thin and painful after she was done. 😫 I honestly can’t say I will ever trust a professional again. I have read too many horror stories on nail video comments as well. Thank you for educating people on what a tech shouldn’t do to your nails.
Thank you for sharing!
I had gel nails years ago, when I stopped my nails were so damaged. Same thing happened when I did dip nails. Now always natural nails for me. Beautiful outcome, nails looked healthy.
Same here ... after years of acrylic and gel nails I decided to go 'natural' ... nails looked horrible the first time. Not only short while I was used to longer nails, but the nailplate was badly damaged. Thanks to the informative video's of SalonLife I learned not to use nail strenghtener at this stage (I did for a couple of months, now I know why this didn't help) . I'm still in the "grow-out-damage-fase" ... keep nails short , do oil a lot and in between I wear a protective layer of transparant polish. I have to be patient. The natural nails in this video look so so beautiful! thanks SalonLife for all the good info in your video's.
I do gel nails myself and I’m always super careful when removing it(I always have a gel overlay do I don’t efile my natural nails) but lately I’m a bit fed up with the prep and removal process so I got myself a bunch of nail polishes. Tho I might always go back to gel occasionally bc I still love it😂
Such a beautiful result Anna. Your precision and patience are amazing!
Oh my goodness !! That was beautiful! I hope she can stop biting her nails now that they look so good !
Im so happy to have found your channel. One of my blog subscribers (and friend) recommended you to me and I’m grateful!
For decades I’ve been wearing acrylic nails.
In January I ripped them off and my natural nails are horrible! They are just beginning to look a bit better but I need to know about nail care!
Your channel is incredibly informative and helpful. Thank you so much!
Awesome work! I can tell you're someone who enjoys the process down to tiniest details as it's satisfying to you. Even if sometimes can take longer, you'd rather take that route than cut corners like so many people do. Takes one to know one, I work in a lab and am meticulous myself. Learned a lot from your videos, it has helped improve my natural nail mani's at home. Also I find your videos relaxing. Thank you for all you do and have a lovely day!
You are a very skilled nail doctor. Your client was probably thrilled. I didn't know how long it takes to grow out nails once they are damaged, so that gives me a timeline. I have several friends and family members who get these gel nails, dip nails, acrylic nails. Now I have some idea what the differences are and why they have to go to the salon every three weeks at least. Your videos are educational and calming.
Omg , beautiful ! Thank you so much for sharing, your professionalism is SO inspiring!👏🏻
This was so fascinating to watch. I’m relatively new to your channel Anna and have become obsessed with caring for my nails. I seldom wear polish (no time) but I also didn’t take the time to care for them other than cutting them short. Now I wear rubber gloves religiously, and slather on creams and oils all day long 😅. After about 2 weeks I already notice a difference. Thank you for these videos.
Your work is beautiful ❤ One of the best on UA-cam doing nails.
The cuticle removal/clean up process is so satisfying!
Thank you Nancy!
How relaxing and informative as usual. Your quality of work is always perfect. I really enjoyed you speaking about efiles - it's really important that the public understand that it's a tool and it can cause harm in untrained hands.
Very satisfying video with amazing result. Your client has beautiful nails. Great job!
Lovely to see these detailed videos. They show so much skill. It’s amazing!!
It is so nice to see a transformation like this. You are so professional! I felt a bit worried after the product removal, but you managed so well to turn her nails to beautiful, healthy looking nails. Wow!
Beautiful! So much better looking! Wow! ❤
Your client must be so happy! Her nails look beautiful, the transformation is amazing. 💗
Thank you so much Lisa!!
What a satisfying video Anna. I loved every minute of it, and what an extraordinary difference to your client's nails. I hope there are a super number of views. Brava 👏
Amazing result, Anna you are so kind and informative, love watching your work 💕
Very informative and interesting to see. Anna it is always relaxing to watch your technique and skill.
Thank you very much Owen! 😘
Beautiful natural look. Very chic.
Fantastic job. The transformation. Is incredible 💕
I am a licensed manicurist for 36 years. I worked 33. I miss it so much. Thinking of getting back into it and only working with natural nails. I have always used CND products. I would love to learn more on the cuticle work with the e file. Well done. How do you come up with a number to charge for these services? Love learning from you! So glad I found you! I am from Texas and not sure of the rules and regulation differences between our countries because I know even state to state they can be different. Thank you!
I found this video so relaxing 😊
As a nail biter, I really feel like you understand what triggers us! Thank you, I'm enjoying your videos.
I used to bite my nails, so I know :)))
Thank you for sharing your knowledge - I am learning how to care for my natural nails!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this very thorough instructional video. (Also quite relaxing to watch).
Beeswax makes a really good base as a nail and cuticle conditioner. It seems to stick down flakey keratin cells on the nail plate in between manicures, and creates a resilient natural barrier finish after applying any oil soaks There's one in the UK made by Burts bees ive been using, and its really helped me to grow and maintain healthy nails and cuticles. It stops me finding bits of skin to bite. My habit is now massaging finger tips with this product inserted of nibbling.
You are an amazing and experienced technician. I recently discovered your channel due to my nails being damaged. I'm currently using the Onyx Hard as Hoof to get my nails back on track. I used before but got lazy. It does have jojoba in it. However, I'm going to begin doing the hot oil soaks. Once I get my nails back decent I'm going to use your techniques and patience. I also will use the shellac method to keep natural nail on point.
Thanks for sharing :)
I love natural nails❤
Same :))
Plane and simple, very pretty
I removed my gel polish, at home, without a drill, twice in the space of a few weeks. I ended up with tiny vertical subnail blood marks called splinter hemorrhages.
I think it was friction from the initial breaking of the top gel layer and then the base. Never again! I'd have been ok if I hadn't changed colour so quickly.
Very often splinter hemorrhages happen when the nail is thin (overfiled) or due to trauma like a hit. Not usually due to friction. Be gentle with the removal, let it soak a little longer
Wow!
So pretty 😍
Amazing work
Thank you so much!
Good job👍
Thank you!🤗
Gracias, la verdad he aprendido mucho con usted. Mis uñas en proceso de crecimiento, gracias a sus consejos.
here after your latest video about acrylic damage. i almost lost my breakfast.
Hi, I’m a French nail technician beginner so I can understand what you are saying but I don’t understand when you talked about grinding tools. I have the same nail drill bit as yours and I don’t have any issues to use it on clients. It’s different when I use it on my nails and most of the time I don’t see/feel the difference between the gel and my natural nails so I sometimes overfill some of my nails. Which nail drill bit would you recommend me to see/feel when I’m too close to my natural nails? Ceramic drill bit? Thank you ☺️
What speed are you filing off the gel polish?
Beautiful 😊✌
Thank you!! ❤️
I used to get Acrylic they over filed soaked it then filed again once the woman was doing acrylics with tips on me and cut into my skin nail place and it bleed I never went back that was 4 or 3 years ago on new years I soaked them off myself and was more gentle my nails where so bad all nail techs where I live over file I do my own natural nails with normal polish no dip powder no gel no acrylic no shellac nothing but normal polish
Hi - great work!!!! When I click on the link for the Erica's file, the one that shows doesn't have the same surface - it's textured. Can you link to the one you're using?
They have 1 link for all the grits I think. Just click on medium and you will see the one I use
@TheSalonLife I love your work, thank you for sharing this. Can you tell me what do you use on the nails to soak the acetone in? Is is a non linen pad? can you share the amazon link? Thanks and greetings from Buenos Aires!
I use the manicure remover pads cut into 4 and then peeled into 2 :))
@@TheSalonLife Thank you!
What’s your opinion on the so called Japanese manicures? Love watching you work while soaking my nails in warm oil 🥰
Hi Magda! as in buffing the nails to high shine? Unless someone has extremely thick nails I think it's a bad idea. Buffing nail removes layers and it removes the top layers of the nail which are the most protective layers.
Newbie at this. How soon can you put oil on cuticles/nails? Obviously this is a video, so I'm wondering how long you have to wait. Does it depend on the topcoat used? I'd appreciate your response I may wait too long. Thanks!
Hello Paula! Usually after 10 minutes, just drop one in the spot between the skin and the nail and let the oil spread without touching it. It might help with drying time too. With Dazzle Dry brand you can apply it after 5 min as the polish is fully dry.
@@TheSalonLife Thanks! I used to think it would ruin the manicure.
Is it okay to file the natural nail if they're still damp after a shower, or do they need to dry well first?
Thank you🙂
Hi Connie, it's much better to file when they are dry.
@@TheSalonLife Thank you! You're the best teacher❤️
You’re clients nails looks so healthty and nice on the end of the video. I do have a question. Wich nail polish is you’re favorite spanish brand of nail polish? I’m goin on vacation in July to Lloret del Mar. So i hope that you van recommend me a good brand. And do have experience with Opi Nail Envy?
No way, we are in Lloret de Mar! Come and visit me for a manicure!!!
My favourite Spanish brand would be Deliplus! Cheap and good!!!
@@TheSalonLife thank you that’s a great idea. Then i can meet you in person 🤩
@@TheSalonLife in witch store can i buy that brand? I now the store called Clarel. In the summer of 2018 and 2019 i was also on vacation in Lloret. We wanted to go also in 2020 but then Covid came
You can get it in Mercadona in Lloret. It's about 20 min walk from the beach, about 15 min from our studio.
Where are you from?
Bellissima!
Anna- off the wall question: have you ever refused service to someone and, if so, what were the condition(s) as to why?
Yes, recently a client wanted to make an appointment for her family member for a pedicure so I asked what exactly are the issues they are having and she told me that the person had excessive callus and it was painful for them to walk.
I told her if there is pain, they would benefit more from seeing medical professional (podologist)
Turns out they were trying to make an appointment with podologist and they didn't have any appointments for the next few days.
Excessive callus (and probably deep cracks) are not only a cosmetic issue but rather a medical issue.
I won't be removing any gels anymore either. Anything I haven't previously applied.
So many products nowadays are not properly applied and not properly cured, gloves don't really offer protection from acrylates and I would rather play safe with my skin. Overexposure to acrylates means not only I won't be able to work but also problems with dental products etc.
@@TheSalonLife thanks for your answer. Being outside the industry, sometimes I wonder about things. I also wondered about all that hard work removing that nasty hard gel and is any compensation worth it - cuz you’d have to pay me HELLA lot to do it, especially if it wasn’t a long time established loyal customer and it was someone else’s work. So, I was glad to see your comment about not doing it. It just doesn’t align with your practice goals anymore - clean/natural/healthy/etc. and not cleaning up work that you don’t support 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. Especially in the age of unregulated UB/led lights and people doing God knows what in their homes, mixing brands, products, etc etc etc!! Okay, thank you again for responding. Hope you and MSL have a lovely weekend!!! ❤️
Can you tell us how you stopped biting your nails?
I started taking care of them and wearing clear nail polish. It really helped.
@@TheSalonLife what did you do against the urge to bite?
❤
🙌🏽мне очень нравится 😻
What do you use for the soak?
Will that soak work for acrylics?
This actually was acrylic. I used pure acetone
Her poor nails were a wreck after the removal. Amazing transformation!
How long between coats to dry
Cnd Shellac is cured 1 minute per coat, except the base coat which is 5 seconds
Why do you like the shellac so much and what is the name of the colors you used today.
The kind of nail files they use mess the nails up even more. You can see the crease marks on the nail. A natural nail file is way better to use on a nail. Gives it a smoother cleaner look.
Hi Benita! This is a common belief. It's not the file that causes these lines but improper technique, to be precise- improper angle of the file. This can be easily done with e-file or regular file. I have totally seen both.
You will see that this client will not have these lines when I do her manicure with e-file.
How do I find someone with you training or approach who works in New York City? What questions would I ask? Thank you.
Hi Beachgirl! As it comes product removal or gentle manicures in general?
@@TheSalonLife Gentle manicures primarily. Although I’d love to try a CND manicure, too. My short nails are in good shape but I find so many of these cheap/fast places damage my nails and cut cuticles roughly.
Well, the cuticle should be removed but they cut living skin and that's the problem.
The best question is to ask them how and with what took they remove cuticle. If they show you cuticle cutter, then you know they will cut your living skin.
If they use e-file then it's more difficult to tell. Because with the e-file you can safely remove the cuticle and then people sometimes file the living skin too much trying to file off the dry skin trying to make it look perfect.
To make the skin around the nail perfect you need to care for the skin and not file or cut it.
And yes, don't expect quality and care out of fast nails places.
I will be making a video about how to find a gentle nail technician... stay tuned.

I love how you transformed her nails….but I’m so confused….if this is a shellac, why is there no need for a lamp to cure it?
CND Shellac does need to be cured in UV lamp. :) Thank you for your kind words! ❤️
My short damaged nail is annoying
I love the "normalmente te cortan la piel?" and not "la cutícula" because it's living skin (proximal nail fold) and not cuticle 😌
Exactly. Words matter :). Thank you!
🙂🌹
To increase cost of a service nail techs will push for clients to get gel polish on top of acrylic rather than use regular polish.
Warum machst du die Nägel so kurz?
Because the client told me “as short as possible” and next time she wants them shorter because the length is bothering her
As a Spaniard I'm really curious about this, how do your Spanish clients react to you filming and speaking English? Especially if they don't speak English themselves. Are they okay with you pointing to their nails and saying things they don't understand?
To be honest, even if I didn't speak English and didn't understand what Anna was saying while she does my manicure, I would still trust her lol, I love this channel 💕
Hello Lucia!
Thank you for your questions!
I always ask the client if they would be interested having their hands in the video. I explain what I do and show them my videos. If they don’t seem too interested I totally understand and I don’t mention it again.
Most of the manicures where I talk nowadays are done for free. Basically if I have an existing client who I would like to feature in a video I ask them if they would be ok if I film it and talk to the camera. That manicure is free. Because who wants to pay for me to talk to the camera. I just feel bad for charging for this.
I recently did an IBX treatment on a older lady and the viewers were interested in ongoing process. So I asked her if she would like to come for about 5 manicures for free and I would film it. She was very happy (and I was too because I now have the content to show you guys). That video is coming up soon :)
Sometimes I have regular clients who don’t mind me filming but then I have the sound off and we can talk etc. Then it’s a paid service.
Ps. Sadly for me (lol), so many people here speak English and they are so nice and always try to help us by speaking English. That’s why my Spanish is so bad lol.
Even today we went for something to eat and I ordered in Spanish and the lady heard us speak English so she started speaking English.
I continued in my poor Spanish because I really want to learn. I should have said “I know my Spanish is not as good as your English but I’m trying to learn Spanish”. ☺️
The reason acrylics smell bad to us is exactly as you stated, to warm us not to drink it.
Hmmm....I don't think there are any fragrances added to the monomer to make it smell worse than it is. To the contrary, there are sometimes fragrances added to hide or cover the smell.
lol Mr. Salon Life
Natural nails looked great! Her cuticles could have been done better...
Hi Lisa! The cuticle has been removed. The living skin that was cut before at the other salon just needs to heal.
