You don’t need the cable when you are actively using it. From my experience if you are using it daily it may need to be plugged in again as a reconfiguration every few days.
Do you always have to re pair ur apple pencil usb c everytime u want to use it? For example my apple 1st gen after i’ve paired it once to a device everytime i pick it up or bring it to my ipad it connects automatically without needing to be re paired… was wonedring if it was the same for the apple pencil usb c

Its honestly hard to say, from my experience both of them last plenty long on a full charge, and on top of that I personally use the Apple Pencil pro as my daily driver with my iPad Pro. As a result its always charged and ready as it attaches magnetically on the side.
I love my new M4 iPad Pro 13 inch and I really want to buy this pencil. However, my handwriting is atrocious and I have no artistic ability whatsoever . . . I can't think of how or when I would use it . . . argh.
One of the new features with iPadOS 18 and Apple intelligence is the ability for it it automatically clean up you’re handwriting. I would demo it at an Apple Store or electronics store that has it out on display to make sure you are satisfied with it first

You should not have. That’s like having to reconnect your iPhone to your car every time you walk away your car.

Not sure what you mean by good notes, but for the demo you are referring to I used Apple's default notes app

Unfortunately it will not work with the iPad 10th generation, it’s only compatible with the M2 iPad Air or M4 iPad Pro
