WHAT SINGLE SENTENCE WOULD YOU TELL YOURSELF 10 YEARS IN THE PAST?
Stuff Covered In This Video:
1: Removing the loosely fitted inner layers for adding more glue and screws - attaching the 1st sections of the last pieces of wood into position.
2: Sealing the upper seems with PL Max construction adhesive. The wooden squares located behind the large driver side piece revealed gaps we didn't fill in last install episode.
3: Sanding down all the inside surfaces, cleaning off excess glue residue and small chunks of expanding foam left over from deadening the steel cage and body panels. This increases how strong the titebond will stick between the 2 layers of plywood.
4: Installing and fitting first section of interior wood lining the shell. The cut was extremely close so the fitment is very tight A combination of self tapping metal screws and exterior grade deck screws holds the entire top, bottom and sides in place with loads of glue
5: Making the passenger side sliding door compartment safe for storage and bigger upgrades later on. Good area for mounting extra battery bank, multiple capacitor banks, anything to help the aftermarket sound system!
6: Relocating factory wiring harness out of the way of the box and trim panels. Used CA glue and Gorilla tape to pin the wires down and run them underneath the tubing near the floor braces.
7: Cutting down the sharp hardware sticking out from the slider track. No passengers will be getting in and out, so they're essentially useless bolt heads. Removed them with a oscillating saw to get really close to the bottom shanks.
8: Building a skid plate platform for storing tools and various road trip essentials like sun visors and spare waters. Used 1/8" ABS sheeting to nothing pokes through the polyurethane foam that's cut nice and flush to the electrical conduit for running RCA, remote and speaker wires to the amps.
9: Trimming flat the real panels that seal off the back. Keeping the barriers crazy strong while saving weight by using fillers instead of mdf of birch. Long strand kitty hair, fiberglass mat, polyester resin and lightweight bondo filler will increase density strength and reinforce the current enclosure boundaries.
10: Stock wire harnesses for brake lights, blinkers and other accessories got safely designed around with planned notches cut directly into the foams edges. If anything goes wrong, replacing is super simple and easy... ANYONE would know how to take care of it 👍
11: Reinforcing the last area of steel tubing on the roof, applying and tapering the loctite PL right into the transition of the roof to bridge the gap with huge amounts of rigidity. This method mimics how the braces have been integrated into the shells far.
12: Rolling on some Second Skin sound deadener above the rear amplifier rack area. Helping to reduce any extreme temperaturs on the amps with some added insulation in the ceiling. Took away that annoying rattle type noise, any unwanted resonance is BAD for system!
13: Switching gears into the front half section - b-pillars get a fast trim job, perfect seal to the entire cabin, and so much beefy material being applied next, the flex levels will be so low most all the spl energy will be focused toward the listener!
14: Running pull string through the electrical pipes / conduit. I used compressed air and some tape stuck on the end of a string to literally launch the line threw the hollow tube all the way down to the other opening. These install lines will pull the wires for my full custom stereo setup.
15: Cleaning cabins dusty spots like flooring, dashboard, door panels, cubbies and consoles. Preparing for fully custom built floor with better insulation and thicker dampening like a MLV mass loaded vinyl product like from Deaf Bonce Double Rigid, Ampere Vibraflex.
16: Gutting the rubber floors, weather mats, stock insulated barrier and headliner!

10 years ago I wouldve told myself to not stress over things I can't change and to change the things I can, at 18 years old I started having panic attacks so bad I didn't work or leave the house for months and it was hard for me to go to the Dr over it let alone a psychiatrist. Still dealing with it some but your videos help

Did the same thing bro! I broke my back and subsequently ruined both arms and ended up on meth and heroine after going to a pain clinic and started on opanas... but now I’m 5years clean with a beautiful wife and 7month old babygirl!!!

Move your oscillating tool side to side when cutting off bolts like that. You'll use the whole blade instead of wearing out just a few teeth in the middle.

Hi EXO I’m a big fan and I love speakers, for proof, some of the parts of a speaker is voice coil, spider, cone, dust cap, basket, pole piece, bottom plate, top plate, magnet/motor, and I love your videos and good job on the van! It looks really nice!

This brings back memories, from when I was an installer in the mid 90s. Had a lot of fun building show cars and customer's vehicles. I am teaching my 25 yr old son how to install my old Punch 45 & Punch 100 amps to his RAM.

10 years ago I would tell myself to keep pushing to succeed and better myself to prove wrong to those who thought that I would fail. 14 years ago on this day my alcoholic and abusive father told me I was worthless and wouldnt amount to anything and then threw me out on my own afew days before my 15th birthday. And instead of trying to prove him wrong I fell down the same path as him, that was until afew years later, I met the one person who became my wife. She had help me recover from my addictions and issues and helped me turn my life around and had become more successful than I ever thought possible. I just wish that I had focused on bettering myself from the start, who knows how better off id be than I am today, but I will humbly say I'm in a much better place than I would have been if I never met my wife.
I just want to say I enjoy the content Bruce. You have always been a big inspiration for me with audio, and your videos of building little blue actually helped me with my walled car which gained me my 160db goal. Keep up the content and thank you for being one of the most humble guys in the audio community

Everything that happens in life has purpose. Don't have any regrets on decisions you made to this point. Live your life as it is. The hardship and heartbreak you will face going foward, make you into the solid person you are in the future.
I would tell myself, "Don't stick with something just because of all the time and energy you've put into it. If it is causing you strife and pain, stop adding to it, turn the other way and only look back to see how far you've come."
I'd tell myself that now is the time to make your dreams come true. Prepare for the worst but never stop reaching for the stars!
I would tell myself. "Don't worry about what the people are saying stay true to yourself and do what you really want to do. Yes it's hard but yes it's truly rewarding".
Well as I just turned 20, 10 years ago I would have told myself is dont let other try to dictate who you are or who you should be, be yourself and try your best to be happy with yourself and with life.
I would have told myself to stop waiting on building a high horsepower truck for doing burnout shows with my father, because now I am finally following that dream without him. This will be a tribute truck, as I have my Speed 3 as my Bass vehicle. Hug those you love and go for your dreams in the now! 👍🏼 Thanks for your content, your drive has me recording mine.

if I was talking to myself from 10 years ago I would probably tell myself to value myself and my happiness WAY more. I got stuck in some very abusive relationships all because I thought that that's what I deserved and I couldn't do better. Now I am in a very happy long-term relationship and doing tremendously better.

Hey exo, I came over to New Zealand on a vacation in 2010 n my older brother showed me your videos when you were still pumpin that minivan up until you had tx1 soundstreams fresh on the block, still one of the best amplifier to buy, n then I moved over permanently 2012 n I started my own sound system install, from 10inch fusion subs, 12 pioneer, 15 American HiFi, running all sorts of cheapest stuff I could afford but dam, was just pure fun n passion, kept watching your vids to catch up on alot missed on your journey, n now I'm closer to getting my dream build on the way of 6 18s subs I could fit in a small station wagon, but when you stepped it up from frankie to the behemoth, wow man I'm a tiny island boy just been dragged into your awesome journey n luvin all of it, and last but not least is that I just saw your behemoth featured in the avengers civil war at the beginning of the airport showdown seen... 😎😎😎 I might be the only one who just found out but dam, your behemoth made it in a blockbuster. This man's fingernails stay dirty, and I can respect it! Don't sleep on Dremel power tools. I have the Ultrasaw and handheld router (no longer made) myself and they are powerful and have worked flawlessly for years. Love em!

The best advice I could possibly give myself 10yrs ago would have to be the quote a nurse whispered into my ear while I was in achoma and I somehow remembered it (yes people we're listening and can hear you, so to all of you who have loved ones that're in that state do not be afraid to just sit and talk with them and say prayers it is very welcomed ❤) but what she said to me was "NEVER DRIVE FASTER THAN YOUR GAURDIAN ANGEL CAN FLY" as I was in a motorcycle accident shoving 4 ribs through my heart and I literally had dozens of doctors scratching their heads wondering how the hell I ever lived through that and how I managed to still be awake and arguing with the ER doctors 12 and a half hours after the accident but thank God that I was or they never would have found the chest injury and I'd have gone home and died during my sleep!!!

I would tell myself stay in school and stay away from the wrong crowds. Don't regret how life has turned out for me just wish some things were different. Hope everything goes well with the house hunting. It's a rough market anytime but seems worse now days. Can't wait to see the finished build. Gonna be impressive for sure.

Hiding things from them with hurt yourself but will hurt them even worse. Being honest to your HEART, to them and to yourself, will make you feel better. So, being honest and truthful is the best thing to do, especially for that true love.
I just bought my first house last week man, and u won't believe what a relief it is. Ya all the paper work sucks but it is by far worth it

Man the biggest thing and only thing I could tell myself spend more time with my friends and family get out and adventure and live life as much as I possibly could,Between everyone I have lost in the last 10 to how fast time has flown I feel I have not accomplished enough not as much as i could of these past 10 years.
My advice to myself: Enjoy your youth while you can; live and learn from your mistakes and have fun with your journey.

10 years in the past? “It gets better, don’t sweat the small stuff” I’ve been watching you for what feels like 10 years now, from bassing in the neighbors driveway because he was a Karen to sitting outside with a sign waiting for a basshead to show up. If you ever need any help with the build I would be honored to drive one day as a fellow North Carolinian to help as I got laid off and don’t do anything anymore!
i use a carving knife too for expanding foam and an orbital sander
