I came across this video in the worst mood ever. And I'll be this guys excitement over some wheels and tires put a smile on my face. I'm happy for dude. To see where he's come from shirtless, worn out jigsaw blade cutting 1.5" thick baffles for some 18's in a 2 door to where he is now and he's never lost his good spirit and his love for car audio. If I wasn't homeless and broke I'd love to donate to his Patreon. EXO thanks for the smile Man. Keep doing your thing man. You deserve all the love in the world.
Love hearing your thought process on why you choose and don't choose what you want. Really makes it an enjoyable watch. Thank you for the amazing content.
The grooves in the rotors are called “slots”....those rings at the end of the video look like hub centric rings...they go on the inside of the wheel to help center the wheel on the hub ...this reduces unwanted vibrations while driving
No, they are actually load bearing. The weight of the vehicle is transfered to the inner ring of the rim. If the rim bore is too large you will have all the weight transfered to the wheel studs. A little driving and a few potholes and the studs will shear off and you'll lose a wheel. I've seen it happen many times.
Dude holy fucking shit. I remember when i first started watching. 10 years ago in that van. I still remember when you first got the Expedition gifted to you!! IT FEELS LIKE FOREVER SINCE I'VE WATCHED YOU!! THE COME UP IS REAL!! And the humbleness remains. Man i feel old.. I was just a kid when i first found your videos, now i have my own kid..
Exo is on point, I love it. He explains things so well, which for people like me with OCD makes his videos very entertaining. There's usually a 1:4 rule of thumb, which is every 1 lb you save in unsprung weight equals to about the same as taking 4 lbs of sprung weight out of the vehicle. Adding a heavier tire could've potentially furthered the limit of the amount of equipment that could've been held in the back, since it will already be so close to its weight limit.
Been watching you since i was a little kid. its amazing how much better your content has gotten, and how much the channel has grown. i hope you continue doing this with the same enjoyment and quality. loving it.
For the people who gave a 👍down you crazy he did the right thing because of the system and he's going to drive it. It's what's best for the truck. I like it myself its a nice fit for the truck 🍻
I've been following this build since ep. 1. It's refreshing to watch someone do what they truly love. You've inspired me to do what I can with my builds. I can't wait to see the end result of this behemoth! I hope to be able to get a demo if I make it to the shows. It would by far be the biggest build I have sat in. Keep doing you, you're good at it!
Small tip, when jacking up a vehicle with a solid rear axle you should Jack it up from the differential (not the frame) and put your Jack stands on the axle, this avoids unnecessary strain on the opposing wheel and suspension components. The frame is fine when using a lift. Just wanted to share my input as a tech. Love your vids and I’m excited to see the outcome of your project.
It's so nice to nice to see good people have good things happen to them. It was great to meet you at Bens stereo shop while you were getting the Helix. I hope to have the locksmith van playing soon. Keep up the great work and keep inspiring others to persue their passions like we do. Van is looking great and I look forward to seeing the progression. Have a great day brother
I love how technical you are about everything. I’ve been to plenty and entered many sound offs here in south Texas. You definitely give us a run for our money.
You may have to add some fender flares to protect the paint now. My tired stick out past my fenders and now my truck it all chipped up from road debris. It's looking great, Bruce! 👍🏻
Looks great. Be careful with jack stands from Harbor Freight. They had a recall on some. Check to make sure you’re safe. Great video and can’t wait to see the final product of this build.
Someone may have already mentioned this, but make sure to re-torque the lug nuts after a couple of days. Since this is your first set of aftermarket aluminum rims, I wanted you to know that they have a tendency to "loosen" up after driving a bit. Not all do, but many do. Just check them to be safe. Looks great, man!
It's great to see someone upgrading brakes on their build. Too many people don't realise just how inadequate stock brakes are when you start adding weight to a vehicle.
whatching only the jack holding the truck... i was terrified... now where the new home is ready i am just w8ing like crazy to see the complition of the build!! love from Greece!!
Great job once again EXO! The van is really coming along. I like the black on black with just a touch of silver look you have now. Love how the videos are so detailed and how transparent you are. You’re definitely ahead of the game now vs Dougie over at Soundman. Can’t wait to see more videos!💪🔥
I would look into doing some suspension upgraded. At the very minimum, I'd upgrade to bilstein shocks, and when you choose the shocks I would get the 5100, but if you get the 5125 series, you can get them in different valving. I'd get firmer valving. Then, I would get front and rear upgraded sway bars. Finally in the rear because of how much weight you have added in the structure, along with all of that wood, not to mention all of the weight you're going to add in audio equipment, I would get some rear leaf spring helpers. You could do airbags, but there is a system I'd recommend called the "roadmaster active suspension." It will help you carry the weight without riding like junk! Awesome build man! Very well thought out and executed!
Next time you use Jack stands remember they need to be on a flat surface on the frame, your backup stands would of failed because they were located on the upward angles on the frame
Hey Exo, car guy here! If you want all benefits out from your big brake kit, updgrade also if possible, your brake master cylinder setup for bigger one
That and also upgrade to stainless braided brake lines. All that with an upgraded master cylinder equals such much comfort and safety while behind the wheel, knowing that just if and when some yackass decides to pull out in front of you, that you're able to put the stop down n stop on a quarter hopefully hahaha I say quarter bcuz dimes are for formula 1 cars I suppose!? Hahaha idfk wtf hahaha but yeah n e ways broski good luck!!!
Okay, so let's talk about unsprung weight. Wheels and tires are a key part of unsprung weight, and the benefits for reducing it are insane. In the performance car world, reducing unsprung weight has exponential gains. I've heard that losing 40lbs of unsprung weight is the equivalent of losing 80lbs of sprung weight. The more you know. Also: it would have been really cool to see the before/after of the sliding door with the new setup
It’s a van not a sports car. He reduced unsparing weight and reduced the resilience of the wheels at the same time. It’s easy to bend a steel wheel in a loaded van. Aluminum is going to bend a whole lot easier I’ve been driving a fully laden van at work for over two decades. Wheels bend easier than you think.
Those brakes are wild. I've never seen that before but I'm only in the car world so I guess that's why. The van is coming along awesome, man. Can't wait to see it finished. If I'm lucky maybe I'll hear it some day. Also, UA-cam is on their bs again. I'm subscribed and have all notifications on and didn't get an alert.
Lookin good Exo, I want to say that you should properly break in your brakes, you can do that by getting up to about 45-50 mph than stepping on the brakes hard, not enough to lock them up but close. Do this 3 times with about 2 minutes between each time you step on the brakes. Also the other brakes that were behind the rotor is the emergency brake. Love the videos man, keep up the amazing work.
The method are BY FAR IN MAGNITUDE OF 10 better then the other ones.... The unsprung weight thing is true, but unless ur racing or giving it hell you will not cause more wear an tear...
Project farm did a video about rust protectants that recommended crc after a bunch of tests. That is all I would personally do with the drive shaft. It sprays on and forms a semi-hard gloss that reacts and soaks into the rust.
I'm not too sure about painting the driveshaft, that's a pretty tuned-in balanced part of your drivetrain and even the smallest vibration WILL cause premature ware. Just my two cents :v:
Nice dude. Those are some pretty sweet new shoes for the ride! It's actually pretty amazing that you got bigger wheels and tires and kept the same weight. BTW wheels and tires and anything else that isn't supported by the springs is unsprung weight. It CAN affect the suspension and even the ride.
If you want to chrome the lettering on those method letters, the best recommendation that I can think of would be using a Molotow Chrome marker, it is a quick and simple solution to silver chroming that looks great. Past that spritsing some Alclad II Lacquers Gloss Klear Kote ACL310 will seal it off for a long lasting shine.
Great van so far! BUT I highly RECOMMEND taking it to a wheel alignment shop or tire shop and have the speedometer corrected for the size tires and rims. They have a computer that they plug in the and they fix it to the new size. I put bigger rims on my Toyota RAV4 and I got pulled over on the interstate and got a ticket because they said I was going 5 miles over. I had completely forgot.
UA-cam knows how quickly I click these videos and put this right at the top. This is gonna be such an insane build man. 😂👌 Also maybe throw lil turbo on that thing in the future if it'd be worth it. I bet that'd be a nice touch when moving around.
Impressed with your level of technical knowledge, and trying to think of everything possible consideration. The build is coming along great! The cage imo, could have been done with angle iron though, so that you could mount larger pieces of wood on them, giving you easier access to work as well. and then you could have done further metal bracing after mounting the wood. But regardless, your plan is looking really well thought out and I love the results.
just a safety tip, when using jack stands, you want to have them up against a flat surface, the backup stands you had in place would just end getting pushed over by the angle on the frame rail, and once a jack stand starts to tip over, there is almost no way to stop it, especially once the weight of vehicle shifts to follow the jack stand down
I'm so sorry for being late watching you new UA-cam video. I had to chose and pick out new wheels and tires for Praisenator after i had gotten back from SBN 2016 . Excellent choice for you and the van
Thats dope! Love the new look! Just a suggestion to look into, Nokian Rotiva AT tires when it's time for some new rubber. I have them on my truck, 2008 F150. You see some snow where you're at, I live in Ohio btw, and I have never had any trouble in 2 wheel drive. The setup looks awesome man! I'm glad you chose to put some new shoes on the behemoth! Looks good for sure!
You should look at tuning options, would make the thing drive better and could probably get a little more power out of it . And you could have the speedometer corrected which will have the shift points back to normal also
One way to get the hub center lettering in silver - paint the whole center silver, then when it sets, paint it black all over and when that has set then rub off the black paint back to the silver beneath. If there was a way to do a hard chrome finish that would be ideal. Just a thought, I'm no painting expert. But there's always a way!
I have watched almost all of your videos and have decided it time to start bassing lol I just bought a skar zvx 8 a rockvill 4K amp now for the big 3 and an extra battery thank you so much for inspiring me to do this my hole car shakes lol not to your extreme but hopefully sometime soon lol keep the videos up man love them
I don't think you want to pain the driveshaft. It might throw off the balance just a tad. Great videos EXO! love the progress on this van and i can't wait to hear it one day.
NEW UPGRADES for the Behemoth Build 😀 It looks soooo much better now!!!
Thanks For Tuning In 📺
Are you going to slamoligy
I hate to say it but you should get some longer studs man I'd hedge on the side of saftey with the increased weight
I cant wait
Wonder what time you gonna put the car audio
I painted my driveshaft with rustoleum 900 degree brake caliper red
I came across this video in the worst mood ever. And I'll be this guys excitement over some wheels and tires put a smile on my face. I'm happy for dude. This must have took AGES to edit. cant wait for the finished build!
EXO works hard only dude on UA-cam id want to smoke w and shoot the shit
I love EXO video edit skills. He edits his videos better then a TV 📺 show edits there broadcast💯
Still waiting 😂
Dude holy fucking shit. I remember when i first started watching. 10 years ago in that van. I still remember when you first got the Expedition gifted to you!! IT FEELS LIKE FOREVER SINCE I'VE WATCHED YOU!! THE COME UP IS REAL!! And the humbleness remains. Man i feel old.. I was just a kid when i first found your videos, now i have my own kid..
Definitely my new favorite channel! Most people don't "do" anything themselves anymore - so happy I'm not alone!
Have been watching you for YEARS now, and no matter what there is always something new that you've taught me.
Thank you for being you.
I am falling in love with this build every episode and I can’t wait to see the final finish!! Keep it up man I’m enjoying it

That is a perfect analysis of how to shop for a tire. This is worth all the likes
I dont know who's more excited to see the finished build, exo or his fans.
This going to be an absolute beast enjoy it man!!!

At least he used gloves when installing the new pads and rotors. Small step that's usually missed. 100 percent though always go under the axle.
Use the force
Dont those centering rings go on the backside of the wheel?
Yeah it's a spigot ring and goes between the disc and the wheel or the Hub and the wheel if its got inbound brakes
My heart dropped when he said Harbor Freight
The van was probably close to dropping as well 🤣
Are they so bad?
A poor craftsman always blames his tools... stick to the fields
Hey, atleast they worked for one round, and got the wheel and tires on. Ha
First time feeling like I'm a part of a big build. Good stuff bro.
That big ole van heavy!!! Id get some heavy duty jack stands!!
I love how technical you are about everything. I’ve been to plenty and entered many sound offs here in south Texas. You definitely give us a run for our money.

It's looking great, Bruce! 👍🏻
been watching you since i was 13. its crazy im 21 now
I'm seriously very excited to see this done! Looks like you have literally thought of every aspect about this build!
Looks great. Be careful with jack stands from Harbor Freight. They had a recall on some. Check to make sure you’re safe.

Those look great! Way more aggressive. Good choice, it’s coming along nicely
I was thinking and EXO logo would look good on the center caps
This would be awesome.
Can't wait to see the Bass Van in some competitions! This thing is really coming together!
same here
The car audio world is lucky to have you🙏
It's great to see someone upgrading brakes on their build. Too many people don't realise just how inadequate stock brakes are when you start adding weight to a vehicle.

silver paint pen for the hub lettering

Wow i get so exited for your vids
Cool it does really change the look with the wheels changed.
I used that G2 brake caliper paint just a couple days ago. It's really good stuff!
Wheels changed the look so much! Great choice!
Exo remember to squeeze the wheel bolts when you have your vehicle down. When it is still suspended you can't make that much pressure.
Beautiful match up with those rims and tires! She's looking real nice!
Next time you use Jack stands remember they need to be on a flat surface on the frame, your backup stands would of failed because they were located on the upward angles on the frame
I was going to say the same thing… how you going to be so extra cautious about having backups and then put them under an angled part of the frame?? 😣
Hey Exo, car guy here! If you want all benefits out from your big brake kit, updgrade also if possible, your brake master cylinder setup for bigger one

I like the wheels you choose better than any of the other options. Nice looking tires too.
Hail yeah! my man sporting a US General. I roll that in my shop too!
Yes!!!!! Larger wheels cause more stress on your transmission. They make kits for transmissions that beef them up to handle large rims. 👍
Man i just love how happy you are. I wish i had a 1/10th of your enthusiasm 👍
everytime I get on tube I'm hoping for a new video of the build, it makes my day.
The method are BY FAR IN MAGNITUDE OF 10 better then the other ones.... The unsprung weight thing is true, but unless ur racing or giving it hell you will not cause more wear an tear...
Grooved and slotted rotors are for heat displacement. Keeps them from overheating and glow red if your coming off a steep mountain
Project farm did a video about rust protectants that recommended crc after a bunch of tests. That is all I would personally do with the drive shaft. It sprays on and forms a semi-hard gloss that reacts and soaks into the rust.
Youre one of my oldest subscriptions on youtube, glad youre still doing your thing!
Hell yeah, van looks great!
Looks dope man! Do the center caps with an EXO logo!
I like how much thought you put into this build, well quite frankly all your builds. good job man keep it up
I'm not too sure about painting the driveshaft, that's a pretty tuned-in balanced part of your drivetrain and even the smallest vibration WILL cause premature ware. Just my two cents :v:
Thank God I been waiting on an update on big behemoth she's looking good Bruce keep the work up buddy
YES SIR!!! Im NEXT!!!

When are ya gonna start building the enclosure???

So pumped to see another van upload. Love the progress and your enthusiasm!
Keep up the Great work! Hope to see you at the shows!! 👍👍
Excellent rim choice. Those will look sick on the van. Great video thanks for sharing have a great weekend.

Video quality looks like it got an upgrade! either that or you're just looking guuud!
I'm so sorry for being late watching you new UA-cam video. I had to chose and pick out new wheels and tires for Praisenator after i had gotten back from SBN 2016 . Excellent choice for you and the van
Man..... im so excited for that behemoth.this will be a beast😎
Not only is man smart with subs but also like a lot of stuff with cars
Rims and a sound system, ultimate teenager spec car :P
Working in that tent has got to be warm... But I am spoiled my garage is air conditioned.
Loving that green shirt brother!
I have that same symbol tattooed on my forearm. It symbolizes our relationship with the illuminati. Jk
Nice
You should look at tuning options, would make the thing drive better and could probably get a little more power out of it . And you could have the speedometer corrected which will have the shift points back to normal also
yes another amazing video
I can honestly say. I’ve never seen anyone put 2 jack stands in each corner of a vehicle jacked up. 😂 o my
Cant wait to see this beast finished! Hopefully well see you at slamology again. That kicker demo we did together in that kicker rv was awesome!
Love the shirt to bro lol!
The build looking good with new wheels and rubber 👍😎
You did right with the wheels!
It all comes down to the load rating of your side walls on the tire
not even 18 seconds into in the video and you already get a like for the zelda shirt :D
I have watched almost all of your videos and have decided it time to start bassing lol I just bought a skar zvx 8 a rockvill 4K amp now for the big 3 and an extra battery thank you so much for inspiring me to do this my hole car shakes lol not to your extreme but hopefully sometime soon lol keep the videos up man love them
The brown on the handbrake shoes is either resin or antitrust coating
Good for you EXO lookin good, Cant wait to see what's next!
Yeaaaaahhhhhh he is back againn. Letssgoooo EXOOOO!!!!!
I don't think you want to pain the driveshaft. It might throw off the balance just a tad.
Great videos EXO! love the progress on this van and i can't wait to hear it one day.
Bro , get the Vision's . You could always custom paint them however you want .
EXO!!! Let’s get this STARTY PARTED!! 🔥💯🔥
Perfect for a friday afternoon in SouthTexas 🤙
I'm so ready for the grand finally and the Godley bass test
