Hi Parmy! Thank you for another great video. It seems every time I start to get curious about a DAZ feature, you pop up with a relevant tutorial! I was wondering if you would share the build of your PC? I am thinking about upgrading my machine and I want something that will support DAZ and speed up my renders. I've heard you mention graphics cards also. Any info you would be willing to share would be amazing. - Thanks in advance.

The most important thing about Daz Studio is what type of scenes will you be creating? With most figures being HD, high quality clothing and props, the memory requirements increase very quickly for that scene when introducing multiple HD characters. This means that the scene needs to fit into the VRAM ram of the GPU for GPU rendering to take place. HDRI lighting means decreased rendering times. Using any other lighting will mean increased rendering times. My comic books scenes get very big and sometimes CPU rendering will take place. I'm getting better at using some tricks I've learned along the way to bring the memory requirements down so that I can render using my GPU instead of my CPU. If I feel the need to upgrade my PC again I will be focusing on the GPU with bigger VRAM and more CUDA cores.
Thanks for your comment and concern. I'm taking a break from creating UA-cam videos so that I can focus and complete my first comic book Tiger Dragon: The Rebirth. I will then share my findings on UA-cam and continue to create more tutorials until Book 2 is ready to be made.

You can make dreads using Strand Based Hair inside Daz Studio. I have a video that can help you understand how to use Strand Based Hair, ua-cam.com/video/DjH1BnKzLmE/v-deo.html.
Thanks for your question. If a hair is dforce there will be dforce options in the surfaces tab for the hair. The dforce options are normally towards the bottom of the surfaces tab and are all labelled red.
Exporting Strand Based Dforce Hair is not a good idea since the geometry size is huge (500MB+). You can export Strand Based Hair into Blender, but it will be very slow to navigate in Blender. Non-strand based Dforce hair is ok to export into blender without any issues. I hope this helps.
@7:20 I have to slightly but respectfully have to disagree with you on that...yes ZBrush is good and it's the industry standard but if you but the time (not alot), effort and you're a good artist, it'll be hard to tell the difference. How do I know?....I use blender.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I like it when people disagree with me. It would be a boring world if everyone just accepted what other people say at face value.
@@ParmyBaddhan No bro , I wasn't really disagreeing with you like that. Some people think that if you pay for something it has to be better. ZBrush is good but if someone is a good artist, they can create or make up for what Blender is lacking. It is like the old expression saying that "the clothes don't make the man."
I actually don't know about the render engines inside Blender because that is not my expertise. However I see your point the hair in Blender as it is in the tutorial looks really bad.
There are 3 reasons why this message appears: 1) Adding or removing geometry of the hair inside blender. 2) Not moving along the normals when sculpting the hair inside blender. 3) No setting the hair to base resolution inside Daz Studio. Try the above and let me know if this helped.
In general I like your content. But it really gets to much with those ads. 2 minutes in and I see all those add breaks so I stop watching right now. Trying to make money with YT is one thing. So much ads either drive people away or makes them use ad blockers and then you have nothing from those viewers. I try to support creators but this is too much.
Thanks for your sharing your thoughts. For ads I use whatever the default settings are that UA-cam provide when uploading the video. I don't change the placement of ads in the video at all. I too watch other UA-cam channels and understand the ads are there to support the creators, who are providing content for free to help me level up. So it is a necessary trade-off for free information, which I am willing to accept. I don't actually make as much money as you may think from UA-cam ads. It works out about £120 every 3 to 4 months. I believe the value you are getting from my videos makes up for the ads in the videos because you are levelling up your skills for free.
@@ParmyBaddhan As a creator you decide how much adds and you might have noticed that other creators set them to only appear every 10 minutes or so. I would rather take a paid course instead of watching 2minutes ads every 5 minutes.
@@ChristinaMcKay Thanks for your concern about Ads. You are the first one to complain about ads and I think the UA-cam algorithm has been more aggressive with this video because it is a longer video. If you do not wish to watch this video or anymore of my videos because of the ads then I am cool with that. Thank you for supporting the channel and if you wish to unsubscribe from the channel then please go ahead.
@@ParmyBaddhan which I did, because you don't seem to be interested what your viewers think. And I guess others don't complain because they use ad blockers and just don't care. I never wanted to do that, but it seems the only choice I have is either using a blocker or not watch your videos at all. Being that stubborn as a creator might be the reason you don't earn much money. And YT might be more aggressive on longer videos but it is your choice to go ahead with them or take the 2 minutes to change the settings.
@@ChristinaMcKay I'm not being stubborn. I'm just learning now that UA-cam is being more aggressive with mid-roll ads than I expected. @@louisbenedict75 did you make sure the genesis 8 eyelashes had been removed from the scene tab before exporting?
@@ParmyBaddhan yes, I hid them, eye lashes and eyebrows.
How do you make hair like dreads or braids
You can make dreads using Strand Based Hair inside Daz Studio. I have a video that can help you understand how to use Strand Based Hair, ua-cam.com/video/DjH1BnKzLmE/v-deo.html.
This tutorial did not disappoint! (۶•̀ᴗ•́)۶Great work and many thanks Parmy.
Glad you found the tutorial helpful.
Hey there !!! How do I know that it is or not a dforce hair?
Thanks for your question. If a hair is dforce there will be dforce options in the surfaces tab for the hair. The dforce options are normally towards the bottom of the surfaces tab and are all labelled red.
So theres no way to export dforce hair into blender... is there a way to transform a dforce hair into a NOT dforce hair to export it to blender?
Exporting Strand Based Dforce Hair is not a good idea since the geometry size is huge (500MB+). You can export Strand Based Hair into Blender, but it will be very slow to navigate in Blender. Non-strand based Dforce hair is ok to export into blender without any issues. I hope this helps.
Is it possible to crop the hair?
Does this also work for clothes?
Here is the tutorials for creating clothing morphs with blender. ua-cam.com/video/R38RSzZCRuE/v-deo.html

It is like the old expression saying that "the clothes don't make the man."
eevee hair got me ded
I actually don't know about the render engines inside Blender because that is not my expertise. However I see your point the hair in Blender as it is in the tutorial looks really bad.
@@ParmyBaddhan eevee doesn't allow light throught the strain, so your tutorial is really good, its just look weird with blender :D no hating
@@9words40 I agree it does look weird in blender.
"geometry did not match" :(
There are 3 reasons why this message appears:
1) Adding or removing geometry of the hair inside blender.
I have disabled all mid-roll ads on all my UA-cam videos after doing some research. I don't earn much money via UA-cam because the ad revenue from UA-cam has been significantly decreased. I genuinely want to help people level up their skills. Thanks for supporting the channel for as long as you have.
