Happy Friday! 💕 We kept this taste test less edited so it's more of a mukbang, but I've included timestamps in the info box in case you want to skip to any particular products. And if you have a few minutes to spare, we just released a new acoustic cover on our music channel and we'd be so grateful if you gave it a listen! ua-cam.com/video/4FT_Q1Vs3FQ/v-deo.html
I really liked the lack of long intro, and lack of background music. It makes it easier to focus on the video, especially with an overactive brain. Thank you!!
The kiss on the shoulder after Eric was splashed with sauce was the sweetest thing 😭
Is Sarah's channel anybody else's "Happy Place"? Honestly, I always come here when I am feeling a bit low, cause you guys just radiate genuinely good vibes, even if you say you are going through a bit of a rough patch yourselves. Thanks for this ♡
"it's like a neutral half n half hotel" LOL love it when Eric breaks out the extremely niche jokes.
Thank you for this video!! I really trust y'all taste in food. And please tell Eric that "weird flecks but okay" was excellent and made me lol
Do I have a Trader Joe’s near me? No.
Will I watch anything you guys upload? Yes.
Also- Sarah you look so beautiful in this video. 🥰 So lovely seeing you making videos again!
The two personalities are great especially Eric’s jokes in between 😂
I don't even live in the US but I'm watching you rate TJs foods. I guess that's how much I like you guys :)
haha same!!
Me too!! I’ve never even seen a trader joes! Love you guys!! Making a Nanaimo bar birthday cake as I watched! Rewatching lol
Same but because I live in the UK there's options that they won't have in the USA.
Me too 🥰
Same here!! Feeling really envious of the options not gonna lie
Sarah, this is one of your best videos! They are all good, but this one was very enjoyable. I like that you don't throw your hair from side to side or wave your arms around like a crazy person! And I love that you don't say the word "GUYS" 22 times in a 16 minute video, like some other youtubers do. You're very soft spoken and down to earth, and that's a wonderful quality to have! And you truly do have a beautiful voice! I knew you sang but I had no idea just how lovely your voice is. The two of you singing together is just so pretty!🦋 I truly wish you and Eric much success in life and in all of your endeavors!☺️
For the grecian style eggplant, as a greek I used to eat it with just a big ass chunk of feta on the side and lots of bread. I think this is a pretty traditional way to eat dishes like that.
Ohhhhh that sounds awesome! There's vegan feta and I'll get some rustic bread. Thanks for letting us know!
I love the spicy cauliflower, but I never use all the sauce because it’s so spicy. I appreciate Eric acknowledging the spiciness.
For the canned fried eggplant, you can eat it with pita bread or any bread really. It's basically like Zaalouk which a Moroccan dip made of grilled eggplants (you can use fried eggplants too but the grilled eggplant adds a smoky flavour to the dip), tomatoes, garlic and spices. :)
That sounds amazing.
I adore the Trader Joe's Vegan Tikka Masala. We don't have a Trader Joe's near by and I used to buy like 10 of these at a time any time I got a chance to go.
I am soooo glad you mentioned rarely frying cuz sameeee. I love buying the kung pao cauliflower, ditching the sauce and tossing the cauliflower in buffalo sauce. Soooo good.
Great idea! I may have dinner plans :)
I looooove the vegan tikka masala! It's weird but I get a definite spaghettio/chef boyardee vibe from the sauce (and it's pleasantly nostalgic). This is definitely an upgrade from that, but still with that undeniable underlying flavor profile. 🤣 Also if you break up the "meatballs" into smaller pieces, the texture isn't as noticeable and is much better. This is my first video of yours that I'm watching and I love the vibe! 🤗
PS - I am also super picky about my coffee creamers. I like sweetened ones, almond based are the best. Starbucks non-dairy caramel macchiato is awesome! Also love Silk almond-based creamers, like the caramel or creme brulee flavors.
My favorite TJ food is their vegan chocolate chip cookies. I have to limit the number of bags I buy because everyone in my house will get some kind of illness from eating too many.
Originally from CA and now living in Milwaukee and the midwest doesn't carry them! I am so sad because those cookies were my favorite!
@@vannessamendez5059 😔
i'm so bummed y'all didn't like the fiesta dip,i love that stuff and my non-vegan parents also love it!
IKR so GOOD 😋💚
I LOVE it too! Maybe they got an off tub.. 🌱☺️
I put my Fiesta Cheese on Chickpea Pasta, my version of Mac & Cheese SOOOOO tasty 😋
It must be a taste thing! I tried it (I’m vegan) because I’d heard so many good things about it, but I had the same reaction as Sarah and Eric. Never bought it again 🤷🏻♀️
I enjoyed it and found many ways to use it.
Just found your channel maybe a week or two ago. It's my first comment lol :)
So I love your videos, obviously, I have to comment.
Your voice is very relaxing to me, Im finding myself having videos playing even without watching, just to hear.
I love your relationship. Your s/o seems very chipper and he adds alot of spark to your channel. I love how thorough he describes things.
Great job editing, being consistent, showing yummy food, and being an honest person!
The idea of vegetarian has always appealed to me. Going vegan would be a huge challenge for my family. Would love to attempt for a couple months to try it though!
Hope you have a great day!
So glad you guys are back! I love this format of videos from you two and the what I eat in a day videos! Your relationship & on camera chemistry is always so refreshing!
Also, I would LOVE a recipe for that jackfruit yellow curry! Sounds amazing!
I totally agree about the Plant Folk creamer! It was way too thin. The Trader Joe's soy creamer used to be my favorite too until it was discontinued. On my quest to find a good replacement, I came across Silk Ultra Protein Unsweetened. It's as thick as the Silk Half and Half but is cheaper and easier to find (at least in my area). Have you tried it?
i missed you two talking about food so much, i really needed this
The TJs soy creamer was my fav too :( it is gone. The silk soy is okay but only comes in the big containers. I’m all oatly lattes now.
I really love their almond milk based yogurt. I find the cashew one too thick and it has a weird after taste. I miss The frozen churros, they don't seem to sell them in Cali but they had them all the time when I lived in Utah. I've never seen that half and half before. Their cashew cheese dip is a bit too sweet but mix it with a really good salsa and heat it up and it's delish with chips.
Crazy, I have like 3 tubs of the Fiesta dip in the fridge now, I'm addicted to it! So good, and yes, I heat it up. I tried the Vegan mac & cheese, but could NOT get past the cayenne pepper in it - who puts cayenne pepper in mac & cheese?! Not everyone likes spicy stuff, especially in comfort food. And when I was in TJ last week, they had the "blue & white" creamer there, I agree, Sarah, so good! I just got a package of the lentil bol to try, good to know it was good!
I mix salsa and the queso together then heat it up! tastes way better that way :)
Highly recommend warming the queso dip and stirring it really well. Really good that way. Not good cold
my best friend is very adamantly NOT vegan and loves the cashew dip, shes always craving it which i find so interesting
4:14....the moment we nearly lost Sarah in a Hummus rabbit hole !!! 🤣💗👌
Silk half & half is so perfect. I was a dairy half & half user, too, and I don’t like flavors in my coffee. The Silk is the only creamer I really like. That eggplant looks good and I need to try the jackfruit curry. The tempura cauliflower is definitely a favorite. It’s so delicious. Thanks for trying stuff out!
I would never dream of skipping past certain parts of this video. I loved this. The random banter and stories make me happy. 😁😁
Whole Foods has an oat canned whip cream. The directions on the Reddi Whip cream says to heat the van under warm water and squirt it completely upside down
You could put the eggplant on pasta....a cold pasta salad with it. The Giant beans are a Greek staple. I just eat them out of the can!
The only dairy product I can honestly say I miss is coffee yogurt. It's been 7 years since we last saw one another. RIP coffee yogurt.
I’ve never heard of that! is it an us-thing?
I love love love the vegan tikka masala. I could eat it two or three times a week. My only problem is acquiring too many plastic dishes that I have to recycle. I will try some other items that you tested that I wasn’t aware of. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy the ying yang of your personalities. Eric always has something interesting and entertaining to say and Sarah reels him back with her soothing voice and mellow energy. Can't wait for more videos.
YES on the reddiwhip dispenser- I end up having to throw it out while half full 😑 I'll put this one on my list!
I think the canned eggplant is a condiment. Like a relish or salsa. I could see people (not vegans) putting it on top of fish or chicken. It could go on a sandwich or make bruschetta like Sarah said.
French onion dip is bomb!! I make a vegan corned beef sandwich and put that in the sandwich, its sooo goood!!!! Defiantly recommend! Try the unreal deli corned beef ❤️
The Masala is one of out TJ go tos!!! We really liked the onion dip also except I think its kinda salty but if you want good chip and dip for like a game or something its really good! The cauli is bomb too!! The fried rice in the freezer section is really good!!
Love these! Just recently moved to somewhere that has TJs and I love it. My favorite items so far are the vegan mandarin chicken and vegetable fried rice (frozen). So good and easy!
that's so awesome! i really missed living near one. uggh the mandarin morsels are definitely one of our faves -- we probably have them like once a week with rice and broccoli as our lazy dinner. i've gotta try the fried rice!
@@SarahsVeganKitchen Yes the fried rice is so good! I cook mine in sesame oil and add just egg plus fried tofu for an easy lunch
Having just moved somewhere with no Trader Joes 🥺, I’m watching this so I can live vicariously through you! 😅❤️
I got the mushrooms recently too. I had the same reaction as Sarah. I think if they were mixed with something they would be great.
To be fair, I think the tempura cauliflower was made delicious bc you air fried it. I baked it in an oven bc I do not have a holy air fryer and... meh, wouldn’t buy again. However! The sauce is delicious and I would buy more of just that to add to stir fries etc!!!
Happy to see you thriving again Sarah 😊 Hope you have a great birthday, birthday twin!
Their vegan banana bread is unbelievable. I also love their chocolate sunflower seeds.
Okay! The fiesta dip put it as your bass on homemade pizza with impossible crumble!!! I swear it’s delicious!! Also have you guys tried the vegan orange chicken in the frozen section at tj?
Since you mentioned cilantro-jalapeno hummus years ago and I couldn't get it here in Germany, I made ist myself and it is ONE of my favourites. Thanks for that.
I didn't like the TJ queso cheese sauce either. The mac & cheese is awesome. I'm laughing because every single product Eric suggested you give to your kid, I've given to my kid.
I like their cheese dip. I eat it cold with their beet crackers. I’ve never seen the simple truth cheese dip at Kroger stores. I’ll have to look around for that!
Yes! Silk half & half is the whole enchilada! I'm not a fan of Silk brand but, the half and half is fantabulous!
The lentil pasta has saved me for an office lunch when I dont have anything packed or planned.
Two thoughts: 1. I’ve tried the non-vegan caramelized onion dip and the vegan one is way better! I like the tang though 2. You can buy the vegan bolognese sauce in a jar and make it with regular pasta 😋
Yes. We just tried the sauce and it was delicious :)
The tika masala is one of my faves and of course the king pao cauliflower
The bolognese: So trader joes didn't use wheat pasta.... but then used a wheat based protein supplement... whyyyyy?
Okayyyy Hamilton references! Must be good enough if you can’t say no😂
Hi - I enjoyed your video and just have to say Sarah that you have such a beautiful voice. Thanks for sharing the yummy taste test from TJ’s. I really want to try the jackfruit meal now. 💕
I did find the blue and white coffee creamer at my TJs for the first time and it almost as good as the local HEB almond coconut brand here in Texas.
The cashew fiesta dip is great but to make it great, I had to warm it, add nooch and garlic as well as thin it out with a little non dairy milk. Otherwise, it’s just ok for me. Xo Davita
A TJ’s employee recommended adding a can of diced green chilies and that definitely elevates it too
I warm it up and add salsa and eat it with lime flavoured chips. So good!
I’m late watching this but it makes me so emotional to see how good Eric is to you knowing what you’ve been through and how much you deserve him!!! 💗
I could watch the scene at 14:48 over and over! Love you guys so much.
I totally miss the original non-coconut creamer. They have discontinued it....erggg. I’ve been afraid to try the one you taste tested....I’m not big on coconut in my coffee. I go to another store and buy Silk Vanilla creamer or the original. I’ll have to try the half n half you mentioned. Nothing better than being 2 blocks from a trader joes
Do you have a recipe for your cauliflower tacos? Sounds delicious!!
I think the vegan masala is their attempt at vegan lamb. That's what it reminds me of. I love it with their Indian flat bread.
Really enjoyed this taste test!
I would love to eat that eggplant as a dip with warm pita bread!
i hated the fiesta dip by itself, cold and hot, i found it terrible. but in a vegan crunch wrap or on top of nachos!! even in burritos. as long as it’s paired with other things, it really does the nacho cheese job ◡̈
Great tip for the jackfruit. I don’t like it in anything I have made because of the brine flavor. I usually wash it a lot but will be boiling it next time.
Sarah! Totally unrelated, but what brand/model is your watch??
Excellent video Sarah and Eric and watched even though I will never be able to try those options in the UK but I love you both and you're UA-cam content so watched anyway.
The fiesta dip is great warmed up. If you mix in some soyrizo, it really takes it to the next level.
I like to mix the trader joes crunchy cookie butter with their plain cashew yogurt. Very tasty, would highly recommend.
The jalapeño corn puffs are the best!!!
Have you done a vegan creamer taste test yet?
I would love to know your favorites!
Oh one more thing! Aldi has a coconut whipped cream it looks just like that but it’s under the aldi brand name i wonder if they’re actually the same?? It’s so good!!
...it’s actually the same brand name hahaha i just looked at it in my fridge. It’s amazing!
I💚The Cashew Fiesta Cheese on Chickpea Pasta, my version of Mac & Cheese with Spice SO delicious😋
I really enjoy that vegan tikka masala from TJ when I had it a few months ago
I've had vegan jerky made of mushrooms. It was an out of body experience. 10 out of 10, would definitely eat again.
You have the best boyfriend in the world. Thanks for this fun and informative video!
Do you have a recipe for your cauliflower tacos? Thanks!
I bought the cashew fiesta dip one time and I tried it and I hated it lol I’d much rather make my own or if I’m in target I’ll buy the one they have there.
ooh i'm trying to remember if i've tried that one yet. i know i've gotten their vegan buffalo dip. 🤔 i'll pick some up next time i'm there.
id you add some chopped pickled jalapenos + the brine to the queso dip its much better!
Shout out to Sarah!! Thanks fir being so amazing!!🤗💜
you should try the dried mushrooms at Costco but I haven't seen them for a couple of months now. Nice taste
So the queso dip is only good with tortilla chips. I've tried putting it on my burritos or making nachos with it and it doesn't have much flavor added with other things it's strictly good with tortilla chips only! :)
I like to add it to baked potatoes and fries. It's also great to dip soft pretzels in.
I also strongly dislike the nacho dip as is but mix in some salsa and warm it up and it's good!
Costco has dried shiitake mushrooms their seasoning is great it does not specify that they’re vegan but there’s nothing saying they’re not. I tried to email them because I noticed the cholesterol was a few mg and i was like ughhhh?? But when i checked their nutrition label online is said 0mg so i think it was a miss print. They never emailed me back :(
A Trader Joe’s just opened near us! Woo hoo! I was there opening morning of course! Thank you for taking the guess work out of trying things.
Hi Sarah and Eric!!
Hello!! 💕
Y’all are adorable and as new vegans, your info is helpful and recipes are delicious
missed your content dearly but glad to have it back!
I thought the cashew nacho cheese dip was gross too! It tasted like nothing lol
Great video !!! ❤️
I really enjoy watching you two....I think you really are nice together.
You guys HAVE to try the nomad eats vegan nacho sauce. We just tried for first time and it’s downright addictive
Oh how I missed these videos!!! I’ve seen a lot of cashew & almond cheese sauces I see people rave about, yet when I get them I just don’t really like them. Still on the hunt though.
I love how he includes people like his sister like me as spice sensitive black pepper is too spicy
siete is the best vegan queso ive tried :D hate the daiya mac though 😅
I can't remember if I've tried that one. 🤔 So many vegan quesos; it's all a little blurry lol. I'll have to pick some up and try it! Thanks for the recommendation.
@@SarahsVeganKitchen sietefoods.com/products/mild-nacho-cashew-queso they have it at whole foods and kroger 🥰
@@katieprimeau49 i’ve also found it at sprouts too :)
You guys should try those new mochi crisps they have!
vegan valley cashew nacho cheese is one of my favorites
Missed your Taste Tests so much! Glad you're back Sarah, made my day! ❤️
Tj has a mango flavor vegan yogurt that's also good.
