    I've played the first yakuza on the ps2 by pure coincidence, at the time I had little reference to buy games and I chose them because of the cover and since I loved streets of rage and always looked for brawlers that could evolve on that formula when I saw yakuza cover on the store it instantly caught my attention and I'm glad it did because it's one of my favorite franchises since that fateful day.

      @@Kevstreehouse yeah, I'm just glad more people are getting into the series since yakuza zero, this series is just a masterpiece and anything the Ryu ga gotoku studio does is just so good, if you never played hokuto ga gotoku go for it, it's their take on hokuto no ken, it's just so good.

      @@DVictor23 nice. Thanks for the recommendation man. Also if you love yakuza content the retro perspective who was featured actually has a few yakuza videos. Other than that I can't offer you much yakuza at the moment but I'd love to do a video on yakuza 7 😁

    Been playing a lot of like a dragon and loving it. Think you'll do a video on that.

      I finished it there maybe a month ago and I really want to but I haven't thought of what to say just yet. Not saying never just not yet.

    A few months ago, my weeb friend almost forced me to get Yakuza 0. I didn't really click with it at first so I left it but now, you've convinced me to give it one more chance!

      It was my on off game for a year so I can totally see not vibing with it but once you start doing the side quests and mini games and the story starts gelling you'll find one of the most satisfying game play experience I've had in the last 10 years. Also the newest game is a turn based rpg and it slaps.

      It was for me too until I played 7. I know it was a total shift for the series but I adore it.

    Do you use a profesional mic or does a headset mic works as well?

    • @Kevstreehouse
      @Kevstreehouse  3 роки тому

      Neither 😅. Professional mics while good usually cost a good few couble of hundred bucks and you need a audio mixer for most of them again costing you an arm and a leg. Headset mics are actually pretty terrible for the most part. They usually are only good because of the way they are utilised for their specific purpose and outside of the gaming world they fall down really quickly. I use a blue yeti blackout. Cost 100 quid or so really easy to set up and use. But that's only half the battle. Most people on this platform at my size either don't know how or don't mention it but post processing can make your sound go from decent to really good. (not to shill but if you watch my first video to now you can notice a pretty big leap in quality because I started to edit my audio.)
      For the post processing I use the same program for recording as I do for improving my sound. After I record my audio in audacity (a free program I adore) I apply a noise reduction filter to eliminate any minor background noise. Then I apply an equilisor which adds a bit more bass and treble to my voice and then I use a compressor which kinda levels out the loudness. Keeps the whole in a specific range and stops peaking. If you do most of that to headset mics it freaks out fairly quickly cause they're kinda designed with very specific settings for the most part and trying to improve alot of them is like putting a ton of makeup on a zit. Makes the lack of quality way more noticable. I know people think the blue mics are expensive toys and to be fair you'd get even better quality out of an xlr mic but honestly if you know what you're doing and how to do it you can make alot of mics sound better then others.
      Sorry for slow response and the essay here. I know you commented on the nier video but I had a massive migrane last night and needed to get off screens for a bit. Hope this helps and if you start making stuff I hope you enjoy it.

      @@Kevstreehouse So it will sound like crap with a headset mic? I don't have anything else at my disposal and I'm not willing to invest into an expensive mic for it might be only a one time thing, depending on how well it does.

      @@returnedtomonkey8886 I wouldn't say crap but if you have an ear it'll be noticeable. Theres always a chance your other aspects can carry your piece but imo bad sound is an immediate skip for me. One thing alot of people don't mention about this hobby is there's a pretty steep investment into it. Be it time or money. I've been lucky in that I accuried all the stuff I needed slowly over time but for a production like this is going to cost a pretty penny off the bat. I can't speak to your situation but you can find blue mics on ebay 2nd hand fairly cheap from people like yourself who bought them for yt or podcasts that didn't work out. I'd say shop around for a deal but depending on what you want to you maybe looking to spend money on a good bit of stuff down the line.

      @@returnedtomonkey8886 one of the things I think first timers don't realize is that it's okay to mess up takes. Like top tier voice actors fumble lines and do bad reads so it's always okay to redo a line if you don't like it. The trick is to train your ear so you know what a bad take is. In my case I can tell even if I get the words out that a take still may not be good. As for actual delivery for the most part it's been getting my vo voice as close to my regular speaking voice as possible. Truthfully I've no training in voice work aside from watching vo interviews and I like to sing and do silly voices. That being said if you watch from the first video the this my delivery has changed majorally because I've gotten more comfortable recording audio. So much so I can do it with someone else in the room. (can't remember if it was this or the control video but my best friend actually sat in to see how I did it) now Its not something that develops overnight and I've had alot of similar gigs to get used to the format (I've done student films, sketch comedy and podcasts so preforming isn't too much of an issue) I'm not knocking traditional training far from it. Giving the chance I'd love to do some acting or vocal workshops and if you can do some form of drama or public speaking it may help you. Again my regular cadence is this highly excitable pitch and delivery when I'm talking about the subject matter. That being said maybe your delivery isn't as lacking as you think. Ultimately you should only really compare your work to your own. You'll drive yourself mad if you start comparing your work to another creators.
