    This video shows a timelapse video on how to model a simple Stylized Stone Floor. Autodesk maya was used to model, Zbrush for sculpting, and Substance Painter for texturing. The goal of the video was to make a model in less than an hour.

    when you model in zbrush the mesh does not get too heavy do not miss the proposal of this type of asset that is usually light with few polygons?

    i tried remaking it how did u keep the uv after exporting it from zbrush i had to it again anyway im happy with result not as good as yours but close enough im not that good with substance painting it took a looot longer than everything else lol

      I think I redid the uvs back in Maya after I exported from Zbrush for this one.

    what do you render in, in the end?

    Cool stuff ! Please tell me ! Is this for a game ? Cause I think there is too much polys if it is the case.. Am I wrong ?

    • @3dextrude
      @3dextrude  5 років тому

      It is a little too high poly for game, if it was a for a game I would reduce the poly count.

      @@3dextrude I'm late, but how would you go about lowering it's poly count while making it still be the same quality? I'm just learning 3d animation and modeling so I'm interested

      The best way would be to retopologize the model, but you could also manually remove unnecessary geometry on the model. Meaning geometry that doesn't add anything to the silhouette

    thank you. after you texture in substance painter how you transfer again to maya for final render? thank you

    • @3dextrude
      @3dextrude  6 років тому +1

      I render in Marmoset Toolbag, just export the textures and import them back to the desired program.

      Yes, apply your textures in the material slots

    Why did you take the low file to Maya one more time and soften it?

    • @3dextrude
      @3dextrude  6 років тому +1

      I used that as my low poly, took it back to set the normals correct for baking.

      @@3dextrude can you just export low one in zbrush to Substance painter? Not thur Maya? I wondet is necessary.

    • @3dextrude
      @3dextrude  6 років тому +2

      You have to set your smoothing groups(the normals) on your model correctly before importing into Painter and you can't do that in Zbrush.

    • @kchuwu
      @kchuwu 5 років тому

      @@3dextrude Do you mind if I ask why the normal weren't originally correct for baking? What would the difference have been if you imported the original low poly from maya as an FBX and baked the textures onto that
