@Price Check On VagiClean He literally said it has the best interior in the segment. It's just fine to point out any gripes while still commending it as a whole.
I never owned a pick up truck. I am going to get a pre owned Limited once I am done with my lease. I saw the truck in a car show, got hooked. One or 2 year old with few miles on it, price drops heavy.
@@andybub45 I've got a 14 Ram with ~155k miles and no mechanical issues so far, knock on wood. Just did the brakes this weekend, she still rides great.
I have a 2019 Ram Hemi non etorque with 47k miles and tow my race car almost every weekend and a few 2k mile trips towing it. By far it’s the best truck I have ever owned. No issue and dealership visits other than regular maintenance. I highly recommend this truck.
I was thinking about buying a 2021-2023 1500, my boss had one, he needed it for repair shop bringing tools and other stuff from here and there, they just ran the shit out of it, but that truck has never given any issues. BTW, how’s your truck going, you still have it?
These trucks has reached an astronomical level of excess. I remember the days when having working A/C was considered luxurious. Edit : Thanks for all the thumbs up.
ALL cars have reached an astronomical level of excess.. everything no-a-days is about useless infotainment & digital gimmicks that will just cost a ton of money to fix when they break
They still make bare bones/stripped out trucks just nobody is reviewing those models. but when you get down in the weeds in the 30k-low40k price range The ram still gives you a lot more for your money.
Man that's so true. Test drove a loaded sport model with air suspension, it looks great insideout and drives decent as well. But it costs 69995 CAD lol.
@@timothykeith1367 You pay more upfront, and then pay more for repairs, and at last you take a bigger hit in depreciation when selling the truck, sounds like a terrible purchase.
Always great points of view coming from these guys. I own a '19 1500 Limited with 5.7 and 4x4. Traded in my '15 F150 4x4 ecoboost. I tow, haul and drive it everywhere. I'm getting 17-19mpg on the highway and 14mpg when loaded down with 7k lbs. I've had 2 issues which occured within less than 100 miles of purchase: A/C (they added freon-problem solved) and the Entertainment system (would turn and off - they replaced it under warranty). Other than those issues, no problems at all with 13k miles on the clock. It's all based on what you expect and how you use it. GL with your decision, very satisfied with mine.
@@nikiller95 Had my 19 Ram Limited since new and now at 53K miles. The mirrors were replaced with a newer set (Different part number- They upgraded the design) and that's been it. No issues whatsoever. My 2015 Yukon Denali was in the shop 7 times in the first 40K miles. It needed so much warranty work I knew the loner car lady by first name.
Fair review, and the reliability warning seemed reasonable. I am on my 4th Ram (03, 05, 10, and now 20), and I have never had even minor issues. But, everyone's experience is different, and maybe I have just gotten lucky. With that said, this has been the best truck I have ever owned. The air ride suspension is truly remarkable. I really hope we get some updates, especially with regard to android auto, to fully utilize the big 12 inch screen.
When i became the sun.. On my 3rd Ram. ‘02 4.7 with 14k miles: rear diff started to go out under warranty. “Fixed”. Started to go again out of warranty. Traded for ‘04 hemi with 24k miles. Motor threw a rod through the block at 69k. Properly maintained. Oil pouring out of the motor was so clean I didn’t think it was oil at first. New motor under warranty (but down on power by at least 100hp). Traded for ‘06 Cummins with 22k. Only 71k now but problem-free so far. 🤞🏼😬
Just over 40,000kms on my 2019 Hemi and no issues to report. Love my truck. Also put 140,000kms on my 2016 EcoDiesel (almost all highway) and never had any power train issues.
I've had a 2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel since new. 66,000 miles on it now. It was in the shop 2 times for a couple quick recall fixes. Other than that it has been amazing! I have pulled trailers from 5,000lb all the way up to 18,000lbs. I have a 3" lift on it with oversize tires and still get 24 mpg on trips. Love this truck!
Same with my 2014 lonestar edition. Only issue is those ture pressure sensors going out but nothing else. I run it with a Diablo tune as well with no issues.
My Grandson has a 2014 RAM 1500 Eco-Diesel, and it has nearly 90 K miles, and he said he wouold buy a new one anytime, as it has held up very well, and he pull a 32 ft 3 slide trailer between Utah and California. I have 2018 RAM 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi. and I have not had any issues with it at all! We also have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Eco-Diesel, which now has 83 K miles, and it's only problem has been the emission system! It has been to the Dealers several times for that issue, but is now fixed since the last recall.
I bought my first FCA product in many many years back in 2015 when my wife convinced me to buy a 2500 Heavy Duty 4x4 with the 6.4 Hemi and 4:10 gear ratio. I'd avoided all Chrysler products for generations because of concerns over reliability, even though they've always made some really good looking products. Having always been a Chevy guy, and had great experiences with Chevy trucks, I reluctantly yielded to my wife's insistence and ordered the Ram 2500 Laramie, loaded up just how I wanted it. I had the Ram for 5 years, and even though it only had 28,000 miles on it when I traded it in, most of those miles were spent towing my 7500 lb boat, my 10,000 lb toy hauler, or one of several other trailers. I ended up loving that truck, and had basically zero issues with it. The interior was very nice, the ride was firm, but very comfortable for long trips, the ample electronics never had any issues, the engine ran flawlessly, NVH issues were nonexistent, the infotainment was intuitive, and the Alpine stereo system was about as good a factory sound system as I've ever heard in a truck and the fit and finish was great. My only complaints about the truck were the 6 speed transmission, which always worked flawlessly, but was really not a good match for the 6.4 Hemi engine when towing heavy because of the gear spacing, and the crappy Firestone tires that were about worn out in 28,000 miles, and were garbage on wet or snowy roads. I liked the Ram so much that I just traded it for a 2019 Ram 3500 4x4 Limited with the HO Cummins and Aisan transmission. I hope this one turns out to be just as good as last one, but just in case I bought the 84 mo /85,000 mile Premium extended warranty because one look at the high tech interior of the new Ram will make you shutter at the thought of all the things that could go wrong and the likely cost of getting them fixed!
I had a f150 and it only last 66,000 miles so what’s the difference bad motor that doesn’t mean I hate fords just got a bad truck I don’t swear off fords and I’ve own them all
@@06XTOR I think I acknowledged that it wasn't a lot of miles, but in case you missed it, it was also over 5 years of use with most miles in front of a trailer. To read a lot of these comments people act like every Ram will fall apart before you get it home. Where I live I think Ram outsells Chevy and Ford, and everyone I know who actually owns a Ram seems really like them and have good luck with their Rams. A good friend of mine is the Service Manager at the local Ram dealership and he gives me the honest scoop about common issues and problems with the Rams. Seems like typical stuff all brands deal with! BTW, I checked, and the local Ford, Chevy, and GMC dealerships all have big service shops too, and they all seem to have their respective bays occupied by their own brand of truck at any given time! I wonder why if they are all so reliable... hummm.
@@razorsedgeadventures6599 see you sir are a wise. I work on Powerstrokes at the good old Ford dealership and I laugh at all the Ram hyperbole statments. If I were to list the known issues with Ford and than tell everyone those are RAM issues , they would call it a poorly made, unreliable money pit. Tell them that it's all Ford issues and suddenly it's acceptable. God the hypocrisy. Or the kids that owned Diamler built RAM's from 20 years acting as if the ones made today are the same.
We had one as a fleet truck for work. 1300 miles and I saw it on a rollback. I asked my manager why - "wouldn't go anywhere when you put it into gear". They didnt put in enough trans fluid from the factory....
Made with pride in Detroit? Right down the road from me is where most of there are made. You wouldn't believe the labor pool on the line. Yikes I do hate to say most of the pride isn't as good as it could be.
I see quite a few reviews talking about a lack of reliability, but when I browse forums of actual owners, sure there's issues (more than Toyota) but overall it's a good report. Basically, if reliability is ALL you care about, get a Tundra. But if you want a really nice balance of all the different reasons people buy a truck for, Ram is the best.
My 2015 Ram has been great. I used to work as a tech at a Dodge dealer in the early 2000s. Ram truck quality has come a long way. Perfect? Nope. Great improvement thuogh. My 2015 Ram is much better than the 1998 and 2001 Rams I owned. I did have a 2001 and 2005 Tundra that I kept for over 250,000 miles. The 2005 was rock solid overall minus the crappy emissions problems.
Love my 2019 Black Edition. It was well thought out and comfortable. Definitely my favorite vehicle that I've had in a long time. Beautiful, smooth ride. I enjoy the Hemi and trans as well, and I work for Ford 🙄
Shane Lindsay Our family enjoys our ‘19 Ram as well. We really like the Ram boxes that are similar to our old Avalanche. Definitely agree on the ride too. It was great on our trip from Wisconsin to Florida last year!
People don't give the 5.7 enough credit for reliability. I own an '06 Dodge ram 1500 Hemi. That motor is worry free, the rest of the truck falls apart around the motor. At least when Dodge made Ram the interior quality is absurd. Still love it. I want a new 2020 Ram 1500 laramie 5.7 w/o etorque. The 3 liter diesel is trash. Fiat garbage. My parents lemoned 2 eco diesels in the newer Grand Cherokee. Only other option is the good ole Cummins. Welcome to the dark side Ford boy.
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi...and I love it. I look forward to driving it because it's so comfortable. The audio system is amazing. Btw, I have the Laramie trim. The only issue I've had is one of the retracting side mirrors needed a replacement motor. Also the air conditioning is not quite up to the task of cooling down the large interior space. I find it surprising how hard they keep pushing the reliability issue as it really seems to be based on the experience of their friend. I don't doubt he's had problems-there can be lemons in every model-but they need something more scientific. Larger sample set.
You should play the Powerball then. They're crap, I owned a 2000 Ram some years ago. That was the first and last Ram truck I'd buy. And yes, I took good care of mine. They're cheaply built trucks.
Great video thanks for sharing. I owned a 1500 1995 single cab 4x4 & 2000 quad cab 4x4...no issues. I finally got myself in a RAM again in 2014, Larimie quad cab 4x4 1500. RAM in shop 29 days and many other times for at least a week each visit. After 18 months I couldn't take it anymore and traded it in for a 2015 sport 4x4 crew cab. Zero issues minus recalls & LOF's. FCA RAMs are a hit and miss truck for sure! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
I'm driving my third Ram 1500 since 2013. The first was a '13, the second was a '17 Rebel, and now I have a '20 Rebel. I've had no issues with the first two. The new one only has 3K miles. I drove the first two from New Jersey to Seattle and back, three times each. Absolutely the best way to travel on land.
6000 worry-free miles on my 2020 EcoDiesel. I hope it continues, I love this truck! Getting 30.5 mpg on the highway and 25-26 mpg with a mix of 70% highway and 30% city driving.
I got this truck with the Ecodisel for fathers day and I have to say, people keep saying its a dog... But to me it feels powerful... I guess driving around a 20 year old car makes a difference...
Leasing my third Ram 1500, a 2020 Rebel. Most refined one yet. I must be a lucky man...I have really had no problems with these trucks (my first one a 2015 Ecodiesel). The last one (2017 Laramie) had to have a piece of plastic bed trim replaced under warranty and a few software updates. Cannot comment on how reliability will be long term, but it is evident Ram is serious about making class leading trucks. Hopefully in reliabilty too.
I bought a Rebel a few months ago, no problems, I love the truck. I bought the 7 year bumper to bumper warranty even though I usually dont. The reason I bought the warranty is because everything is electronic, yet the new lifetime warranty from Ram dont cover the electronics in the truck, and that can be expensive. I did not buy the EcoDiesel because in my area there was only 1 with the options I wanted and it was 10k over the Hemi, along with .75 cents per gallon more and DEF, it would have taken about 7-9 years to recoup the money. The issues, the split tailgate is nice except if the truck is leaning towards the passenger side on an incline the larger gate wont stay open. If I use just the larger gate I have to open and close the small portion then the larger portion or the light and message will come up as being open on the dash. This is my own fault, unless you get the package for adding USB/12V plugs in the back seat, its not added. I did not notice this until after I bought the truck so now I will have to run a 12V and USB to the rear of the truck so my son can plug in items. 13.5 MPG city 20 MPG hwy for non-Etorque Hemi, dont mind the sticker that says 19 and 24. I love the small tv in the dash, its not as distracting once you get used to it, and find what you need. The RamBox is awesome, you can fit a ton of stuff in those boxes. They have drain holes for easy removal of melted ice. The boxes in the rear floor are also great and holds a ton of stuff. So far so good, I love it. The Hemi sounds great and pick up is awesome, very smooth with this trans. No mechanical issues so far, but of course it wouldnt because I bought the extended warranty. Fingers crossed.
2019 ram Laramie. First ram product I asked several other ram/Dodge truck drivers how they liked their truck before buying mine. I pulled the trigger and loved it until I start having problems. Air conditioner injectors on the 5.7 L break modules. It spent 27 days in the shop. So sad to see it go. But any brand can have reliability problems. Hopefully if you get one you will have luck in the joy that truck because it was a beauty to drive. Love the videos
I’ve had my 2013 Ram for 7 years, 5.7 litre Laramie...Have not had any issues (apart from a couple recalls all covered). I live on an acreage in the country. I’ve towed with it. It still mostly feels brand new. Not even a rattle, interior is quieter still then some newer vehicles I’ve been in. In fact, aside from the lack of Apple CarPlay, even the infotainment still feels better than a lot of new ones. The V8 has great power (averaging 14 l/100kms, I think about 17-18 mpg?...with old 6 speed though). My in-laws all have 2500/3500s some with several hundred thousand miles. I would easily buy another one. One comment about the ride though, is it does ride better than any other truck because of the rear independent suspension...despite having identical cabs on the 3500s, the ride is so much worse in normal driving.
Just bought a 2018 Ram 1500, which I think is the way to go, I saved almost half off of the 2020 sticker price. I reviewed what was available on the maintenance records and feel pretty confident. That being said after researching FCA products I did opt for an extended warranty. Hoping for the best. Thanks for the video
I picked up a 2019 Ram Big Horn Crew cab with the 5.7 Hemi and 8spd trans I’m 5k miles into it no issues so far. I mostly use it as a family vehicle or load my atv to go for trail rides.
Always been an F150 or 250 guy had em all diesels, V8's, ecoboost 6's - this last go I bought a RAM Rebel because the Ford dealers were being just SO arrogant and the price for less of a truck in Ford was $3K more than more of a truck with RAM so the choice was abundantly clear. I dove in and have been very happy so far. got 3500 miles no trouble with anything except the dreaded cracked back window frame issue. I documented with the dealer but chose not to fix because it doesn't leak. Being an older fellow I have learned that sometimes it's best to not monkey with something UNLESS YOU HAVE TO...
I work on cars for a living and i can't tell you how many almost new low mileage Chrysler products are just cheap and falling apart. One guy had a new Chrysler 300 and the interior door panel was falling off. Plus the level of cheapness is unbelievable. Cheap plastic everywhere and higher class materials like leather is just cheap and low quality. They are also very difficult to service because Chrysler engineers seem like they have a vendetta against mechanics/technicians. Simple things like oil changes and battery replacement/service is a nightmare on many of their cars. On many Chrysler cars you have to remove the front wheel and inner fender to access the battery. Like it was totally impossible to put it under the hood.
@Dean Toma you're the fool ! I can vouch for everything that was said . FCA is garbage . However as a technician myself of 20 years , FCA products is what I make most of my living fixing . So really I cannot complain 😂
I hope Toyota takes note from Ram on how to put together an interior. Ram absolutely smashed it out the park with that interior. It's been around for a few years now and I'm still impressed every time I see it. With that being said, I still couldn't buy it due to their reliability or lack thereof. Thanks for another great review.
I love my Ram Rebel... I have the 5.7 HEMI with regular suspension. The only issue I've had was knock on the front of the right tire. Turns out the sway bar and some other part had to be replaced. The RAM tech said they were considering making that a recall since they were getting more and more cases. BTW my truck only has 4500 miles right now.... hopefully nothing else goes wrong. I do love it.
The issues with this truck occurred on early builds. If you recall, FCA built a brand new plant to make these.. and we know early builds at new plants have problems. Now the truck is good.
You like it so much, you don’t care about reliability failures. Sounds like my early to mid 80’s Audi obsession. With quality and reliability becoming a non issue for many manufacturers AHEM-GM!) I will recommend potential truck buyers at least look at it.
I'll give up my '05 1500 5.7 when it falls apart, over 200k and no major issues on the original powertrain. Glad I have an '05, before MDS and emissions started killing the 5.7s.
My 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 hemi has had only two issues over the past 17 years. The first was the crankcase sensor malfunction that completely shut my truck down without any notice, and the second being the transmission relay that blew while doing 70 on the interstate which sent it into limp mode. Besides those two issues, mine has been very reliable. I plan on keeping it till I die.
This is painful to watch! Such a great video as always guys. I have a 2015 Ecodiesel and when it’s not in the shop, it was the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Super comfortable, really nice, great fuel economy, etc. However, I’m SICK of it being in the shop all the time. Sometimes stupid stuff, sometimes dramatic really bad stuff. I can’t take the lack of reliability. Now I’m in the position of hating every other truck out there. I’m going to get rid of this truck any day and I assume will take a bath on the resell value. Honestly - I have no idea what I’m going to buy, but it will not be a FCA product.
Ive had very very few problems (none of any severity) 2019 dodge ram 1500 V8 lone star edition black with midnite package. I love this truck ALOT. owned for just over a year and have about 23,000 miles. Purchased new.
Basically a blue collar five series. Drives smaller than it feels. Great interior. Very comfy. Lots of tech. May not be reliable long term. It's part of a uniform. You pick the color you like and the amenities come with.
@Price Check On VagiClean Well, luckily for my point the 5.7 is still wrapped in a bunch of FCA now innit. Also, FWIW, this is the new ecodiesel. Probably as reliable (now) but we have no long term data to offset the prior Gen's... Concerns.
Would like to see a review of the Silverado Trail Boss. It represents a great value proposition and a full-size truck you won't be afraid to use for traditional truck duties.
Currently own 2005 1500 with 4.7l. Bought it new with 7 miles on it, now has 215K. Not a single engine or transmission problem. Sure the factory front wheel bearing were crap and replaced One at 30k the other @60k with after market brand and still in truck. Water pump @204k, radiator once. Biggest problem has been rust issues after 10yrs, but I live in New England. Interested in new 2020 eco diesel now mainly for the zero percent financing FCA is currently offering.
“it reminds me when i was a kid at mcdonald’s in the play area looking at my dad ... well looking for my dad, but i couldn’t find him and i ended up in the ball pen with some strange old guy ...” - I literally spit my coffee from my “surprise” laugh.
I have a f150 Lariat 2019 and I need to get a new one to write off taxes...I'm seriously thinking about this RAM Laramine...besides I'm a Scotty Kilmer's disciple I believe the RAM has been improving a lot..and the warranty is huge...because the care that FIAT has dedicated to this truck is impressive and the beauty and finishing put this truck miles away from the second one....I'll take a risk at the hemi 5.7...and the price is not different than the equivalent F150...so here we go...
I must have been one of the lucky ones too. 3 different Dodge/Ram pickups - all good experiences. With that said, the only thing I've ever owned that was a complete POS was a GM truck...
AKJeeper same, last truck was a 98 Dodge Ram single cab. Near 300K before it started burning a little oil. I was sad to finally let it go to a kid in need.
Steve Pamplin I have yet to keep my trucks much beyond 250k, but have kept older Jeeps past that - my ‘94 XJ Cherokee did 445k before the rust killed it. I think part of the reliability problems with modern trucks is higher end models with all the electronics - I’ve seen problems with Ford, GM, and Chrysler trucks...none seem immune. All of my Rams have been mid grade SLT or Big Horn Editions - maybe that’s why I’ve had good luck.
I had a 2016 eco-diesel, recalls galore, emission cheating, blown engine at 76,000 miles, paperwork to inches thick throughout the years I’ve had it more time in the shop then on my boat. Final straw rented a car for two months to go up north came back home turn the key engine light came. Took six days to change a glow plug, not many diesel mechanics have to wait a long time in the Dodge service center. Worst truck I ever had! Enjoy!!
I used to work at a Toyota dealer and we would get these in on trade. 2019-2020 trucks in on trade with flickering screens and air ride failures. Amazing amount of tech but sadly unreliable from my observations of all ram pickups encountered.
I own a 19 laramie now with 45k on it. Only problems I've had is tailgate doesn't release all time, fuel line mounts on frame came off 2 twice, and MIL is on for active grill shutters which they extended the warranty because it's a common problem. Besides that it's been very reliable and I would buy another one.
If you’re considering one of these trucks and you don’t have enough money to wrap it or add custom decals you should be focusing on making more money first. $80k is no joke that will screw you financially.
I have the 19 rebel fully loaded, discounts were decent. I have the hemi, 31k on it. Things a fucking dream. The Mercedes transmission is a nice touch. Don't listen to the "muh reliability" shitheads, those are just people that don't maintain their vehicles, and think blinker fluid is required in their vehicles.
Agreed. Sarcasm was perfect. Also agreed on the truck when I drove them, these latest rams are fantastic. But I also have heard the anecdotal reports about reliability and at those prices I don’t think I can buy one
The only thing I wish they would have included with the rebel is the backseat recline. Just like the larime. I know it's picky but would be great for long road trips.
In my family we had the 2006 ram 1500 and we only had problems with the radiator and shocks in 13 years. We currently have the 2014 (+70,000 miles) and 2019 ram 1500 (+10,000 miles) and we have no problems. So we haven’t had major problems like what mentioned in the video. And honestly the 2006 ram 1500 had those problems because of poor maintenance.
I've had mine for about 9 months and It's been a love/hate thing ever since. Interior is by far the best part but that being said, it's been back to the dealer 8 times. 3 of those times were for the screen not turning on and when it would, it would freeze. The head unit has since been changed and so far so good. Last major issue has the been the air suspension...FCA has been offering it for some years now, you think they would have figured out how to make it reliable. So i'll probably be trading it in with in the year, if i'm having this many issues so early on, what's coming next?
That sux. I really want one. But just couldn’t justify the gas mileage of the v8. Now I’m holding out for a cyber truck. Hopefully it’ll ride as nice as the ram.
@@andybub45 not in my experience at least not with they're newer stuff. I have a 2015 2500 6.0 work truck that's had nothing but electrical issues since day one. both wiring harness for driver and passenger door has been replaced because the wiring was too short, overextended and broke some wires that control the power windows and locks. Also the seat cushion fabric is very I know has ripped on the driver's seat exposing the foam. Only 60k on the clock. They sure don't make them like they used too, too many electronics to mess up
'02 Ram 1500 with no issues in 8 years of ownership. '14 Jeep Rubicon with not a single issue in 5 years. '19 Ram 1500 Longhorn with a couple recall items (software update and windshield wiper), and one power folding mirror that needed replacing (under warranty), but so far has been fantastic. The 5.7L Hemi has been around forever. I specifically looked for a model w/out the L-ion battery. If I had any real issues, I'd be honest about them, but all of my FCA products have been exceedingly reliable. In fact, the only cars I had issues with throughout my life were an Infiniti Q50 (electronic control unit replacement) and Hyundai (transmission issues).
having warranty doesn't mean you're good to go. You also have to have a good dealership willing to address the real problem other than blame to software glitch and reset. And when you are in repareshop every other week, warranty doesn't pay your work loss....
A friend's Ram Box blew up after gassing up, he liked the truck so much he bought another, the transmission failed with this one but he liked the truck so much he bought another, so far this one hasn't had any problems and he loves it. All in about two years.
I've been leasing one for almost a year now, and its really fantastic except for the reliability. Trans problems, 4x4 problems, auto start dosen't work anymore, and the battery has been replaced 3 times for a reason FCA cant figure out. I'll keep leasing them ever couple years so long as the rates stay cheap. That said I think you'd be out of your mind to actually buy one.
C Morris yet again, In past generations yes. The ecodiesel is the only current motor that’s had problems. And the major trani failures are from 10-15 years ago. And I haven’t seen major electrical issues that you wouldn’t also see in ford or GM since the 3rd gen rams. Those had bad electric issues in the gassers
That escalated quickly! Me: The elevator in my office building keeps breaking down, this sucks.😶🤨🙄 This Dude: *What is life but toil, pain and disappointment until you yearn for the sweet escape of death!* 🥶 Me: oook..🙋♂️🏃♂️
Buy one and you’ll soon discover that yeah, it’s “always something” not working right. We have Rams at work. They’re swell for about 30-40k miles and then it’s warranty repairs every 6 months. Transmissions, lifters, electronics, etc. Most dependable feature? “Check Engine” light.
I'm on my second Ram, I purchased my 4th gen in 2017, and so far it has been mechanically reliable. Can't say the same for my 3rd gen I owned for almost 10 years. I swore off Ram (Dodge at the time) after that vehicle, but the ride comfort, interior finish, fuel economy, and price brought me back. I also purchased an extended warranty this time around. So far my '17 has only had "minor" issues, but I believe they're quality related like you mentioned. Water was leaking in, which damaged the rear insulation panel, head liner, and carpet. Initially they thought it was the third brake light, but it was the body seam along the roof line. They had to remove the windshield to change the headliner, and now I have rattles and fitment issues I didn't have before. I will address those on my own as I run a small business and can't keep taking my vehicle back for repairs. Water leaking into the interior as been an issue for years, and they still haven't properly addressed it. They each have issues, Ford is dealing with oil consumption on the 5.0, warping dashes, etc. I don't think the perfect vehicle exists unfortunately.

Picking up my Ram1500 Limited 2021 tomorrow morning oh yeah 😎

The actual reason why Jack flies First Class are his Herculean size 13 feet.
Thank you for not sidestepping FCA's questionable built quality.

Reliability is a statistical measure, doesn't mean they all break. I'm sure there's a Yugo out there somewhere that runs like a Swiss watch.

@@mikenormandy9250 no power, no mpg, no interior quality, I mean the Toyota seems legit lol
I’ve got a 2015, Ram 1500 with a 5.7. Five years, 50,000 miles and have had zero problems. Thank you.
More back-handed compliments in this video than Rodney Dangerfield playing a tennis match.
Ive had very very few problems (none of any severity) 2019 dodge ram 1500 V8 lone star edition black with midnite package. I love this truck ALOT. owned for just over a year and have about 23,000 miles. Purchased new.
The best most honest car reviews!
I currently own an EcoDiesel classic, prior to that I had a 2014 EcoDiesel I never had any issues
"If you can just forget about price tag and forget about reliability this is the best motor vehicle ever." Said no Fiat/Alpha product review ever.
This is the funniest car review I've ever seen yet still informative
Basically a blue collar five series. Drives smaller than it feels. Great interior. Very comfy. Lots of tech. May not be reliable long term.
It's part of a uniform. You pick the color you like and the amenities come with.
@Price Check On VagiClean Well, luckily for my point the 5.7 is still wrapped in a bunch of FCA now innit.
Also, FWIW, this is the new ecodiesel. Probably as reliable (now) but we have no long term data to offset the prior Gen's... Concerns.
Blue collar, unless you need to carry 4x8 sheets of plywood with the tailgate closed. Fuck Ram.
@@t44e6 I'd wager to say that by the time you have the newest and best Ram you have other folks to drag around the hardware.
Finally some true, real car review. The best on youtube.
You guys killed it in this one! Usually there's some indirect sarcasm, but this was absolutely hilarious!!! Great way to start my Monday!
My 2015 ram 1500 has been running like a champ with ZERO issues and I run it pretty hard
I have a 2010 with 211k from new. 5.7L, minimal to no issues. I am surprised to see all the comments about reliability, guess I got lucky.
Old Rams are better
0:41 looks like you didn’t DODGE the Coronavirus.
savagegeese is the type of guy who dabs in the middle of a public health crisis for the memes.
Oh snap.
I smoke,a lot,and I'm afraid to even smokers cough.
It rammed him harddd
Definitely back to a more traditional Geese Review compared to some of the recent videos. Love it
I’d die for a retro-style paint option like what Chevy did years ago.
Ford and dodge.
If you’re considering one of these trucks and you don’t have enough money to wrap it or add custom decals you should be focusing on making more money first. $80k is no joke that will screw you financially.
Just went from a Ford Fusion to a Ram. And I absolutely love it!!
This is exactly the layout I'd want if I'm getting a Ram.
Yep. These Ram trucks are fun and games until they start having issues. Chevy is the best for reliability.
I was just thinking, I wonder if all those interior bells and whistles will hold up. FCA is such a disaster.
They sure don't make them like they used too, too many electronics to mess up
Sure you wanna know?😂
'02 Ram 1500 with no issues in 8 years of ownership.
2:05 I love how you wear your dad's shoes while you reminisce about him.
Got an uncle who is a mechanic at a FCA dealership. The eco diesel products keep him very busy, especially in the winter.
You think it's any different at the Ford dealership I work at fixing Poerstrokes?
having warranty doesn't mean you're good to go. You also have to have a good dealership willing to address the real problem other than blame to software glitch and reset. And when you are in repareshop every other week, warranty doesn't pay your work loss....
You can't spell repair, you don't get to talk.
Holy sh*t man that is not ok! What a piece of junk
Been researching full size trucks for months and this is the best review yet by far!
They look so good! If only they were reliable!
C Morris other than the past eco diesel, and ram transmission from 15 years ago. They are
@@toofastnobrakes so basically the parts that matter plus thier shoddy electrical work
C Morris yet again, In past generations yes. The ecodiesel is the only current motor that’s had problems. And the major trani failures are from 10-15 years ago. And I haven’t seen major electrical issues that you wouldn’t also see in ford or GM since the 3rd gen rams. Those had bad electric issues in the gassers
@@toofastnobrakes I'll stick to my Japanese guys on this one. I've drank from the fountain of scotty
That escalated quickly!

As an automotive technician of 20 years , I can say the tundra is the closest to being perfect In terms of long term reliability in the market today . This is why I own one 😁
@@EverydayJ1786 they had cam tower oil leaks I've heard and some electrical but thats about it. Have they fixed them and how common was this.
@@EverydayJ1786Fair point.
However, if they brought their interiors out of the '90s, and increased their fuel mileage beyond what my 79 F150 gets I would consider them.
@@DF-et4gs the 2018 and up tundras aren't that dated for interior comfort . I get 18 mpg all day long .. alot of people make the truck out to be much worse that it really is . Test drive a 2020 if you can .. you might be pleasantly surprised
@@EverydayJ1786 A lot of people also make Toyotas out to be much more reliable than they really are. And on Fuelly Tundra owners are getting quite a bit worse economy with the Tundra than you.
I have had FCA for work vehicles from my current 2018 Pacifica 50k miles and my own 2017 Ram 2500 24k miles no issues outside recalls.
these 2 stooges have to be THE most animated reviewers I've EVER seen! I'm sooo loving these 2!!! LOL
I had a 2016 Ecodiesel but it was a lemon. I LOVED how comfortable it was and the way it rode. I want another but is it going to be another lemon? Have they fixed the issues?
Translation when they’re by the hood and say “everything is easy to reach,” is youll be spending some time there.
This is my first video I have watched by you and it was pure entertainment. I had no idea what I was walking into. So funny, well done sir.
