Happy owner of a Tegeler Creme RC here... just as a suggestion, gain matching is a must in order to compare signals, I mean especially about the mix bus comparison. Nice video anyway, keep it up!!
Waiting for my Crème to arrive and CB now looking at there Tube Reverb. Should have that one by March… An up date, my tube reverb has been ordered. Now waiting the few weeks till it’s made and shipped to Canada then to my door.
Thankyou so much. I was already sold on this unit but tbh the thing that shines most on this video is your passion for applying the best of modern available tech to capture and make glitter out of your daughter's song. The Creme puts sub and presence on everything and anything that's been even half-well recorded, but ive yet to see a better presented and less pretentious summary of why it is as useful in a home studio as a pro one :) What git/amp/processing is on the electric guitars btw? Thanks so much. Subbed.
You can definitely use this on either mastering or mixing. I use it to record stereo drum mics and stereo piano on the way in or even double acoustic guitar mics. Make sure to check out their 14-day demo deal too. Cheers! Lij
Thanks for your comment! As I remember there isn't a true level matched bypass. So every time I engaged it I had to bring the level up or down. If I could have done a level matched bypass I would have. But honestly this is how I would have used it in the studio on a real session anyway. So its true to form. :-) Cheers! Lij
A plugIn compressor will never be as good as a hardware compressor. Crank a plugin and you get clipping, crank a hardware compressor and you get nice second and third harmonic distortions.
It will be always like that (in particluar with compressors) because you can´t change the digital world (and its behavior) which reacts with clipping when you want to crank the signal.
Did I say this??? I just told you (what is a scientific fact) that when you drive a plugin hard in particular compressors you get clipping. Andrew Scheps and others can ONLY work in the box because the material they get to mix is recorded well with guess what? Answer : High quality HARDWARE signal chain. Give Andrew Scheps a bad recorded signal (with bad equipment and so on) and he won´t be able to do much. He even said that himself in a nice interview he gave in England (in his new studio) I just saw recently. ua-cam.com/video/ZbimHK_wZ3M/v-deo.html

So true!
Good point! You may need to adjust in playback for a level match in this case. Thanks for the helpful feedback! Lij
Mixing in solo is interesting. Thanks for the demo.
You’re welcome!

DOPE TUTORIAL G ! 🔥
Great video!!!
Is this just for mastering or is it a good mix bus compressor before sending the final mix off to a mastering engineer?

How did you mix that electric guitar in the mix ?
Those electric guitars were actually recorded through Amplitube 4
What DAC or Audio Interface did you use for feed the Creme (Analog Chain)? Thanks!
+Emmanuel Gracian I use the Avid HD 192s with ProTools. Cheers! Lij
@@RecordingStudioRockstars Thanks!!!
How much is it
i appreciate you showing us the unit but the audio is nowhere near level matched. the IN is much, much louder than BYPASS 9/10 times here.

Its much easier to use plugin these days...

yeah..maybe 5 years ago..but now..hmm..

Thanks for info. I guess thats why mixes from Andrew Scheps and Tchad Blake, among many others, sucks lately ... :)
